Management Faculty members Dr. Anusha Agarwal, Dr. Charu Chaudhary and Ms. Parul Gupta attended Business World Education- Future of Management Education Conclave 2019at Hotel Imperial, New Delhi on 12th November, 2019

The conclave was organized by Business World to explore how management schools can take a leaf out of successful organizations in the spheres of business, technology, higher education and public service and work towards establishing their institutions as leaders.

Staff Development Program at I.T.S Dental College, Murad Nagar

Prof. Yachna Malhotra of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar conducted a training program on "Effective Communication and Time Management" at  ITS Dental College,Murad Nagar for the Patient Care Staff team.

Participants were highly delighted to have such an opportunity to learn and add new set of skills and competencies so as to develop and enrich their capabilities as a successful  professionals and to contribute the best possible to the students and hence the learning environment was highly interactive and resulted in  deep routed team cohesiveness among the participants.

Initially to get connected with the participants, an ice breaking session was conducted to  get affiliated with each other by introducing each other with sharing their feelings and disclosure of strengths and weaknesses so as to predict  personality traits of the participants.

The training was a mix of both the slide show coupled with some interesting activities to sensitize the staff members for giving effective and quality service in general and making their interactions with students more polite, clear and result oriented.

An activity on Time Management(Ball Game) was conducted among the participants to make them understand and demonstrate the importance of managing time in both their personal and professional life.  Participants were over whelmed with the outputs and experiences they had during the game. Again this was followed by an activity (Walk/Stop) to understand the significance of effective listening in order to have desired response from the patients during their daily communication

Prof. Yachna Malhotra offered thanks to all participants for their patient listening and active participation during the session.

Zenith - Soft Skills Club organised “War of Words” for MBA Ist year students

I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Department of Management, Soft Skills Club organised “War of Words” for MBA Ist year students on 6th November, 2019.

Objective of the activity was to assess and enhance the confidence and reasoning skills in the candidates. Candidates shortlisted from first round of written aptitude took part in the second round of reasoning skills test. Third and final round was the Debate Round in which selected candidates discussed on the topic given by respective judges.

Winners were felicitated by Dr. Vidya Sekhri, Director (Management) with trophies, certificates and gifts.

Overall, activity was appreciated and enthusiastically participated by the students.

Dr. Umang, Faculty,  IT attended 3rd Governance Now Digital Transformation Summit on Wednesday, 6th November, 2019 at The Lalit|New Delhi.

The country is poised to the next phase of growth. The strong digital infrastructure and digital India hold potential for the socio-economic growth of the country. According to the reports, the potential economic value of $1 Trillion in 2025 comes from the new digital ecosystem in diverse sectors including e-governance, healthcare, jobs and skills, agriculture and various other areas.

The objective of third edition of Governance Now Digital Transformation Summit was to focus on roadmaps, partnerships and collaborations among the center and state governments, private sector, industry associations, consulting firms, and academia which are critical to achieving these digital goals. In this Summit, special focus was also on reskilling and upskilling the government practitioners for the digital transformation process.

One day event was comprised of Inaugural sessions, plenary Panel Discussions and Industry presentations.

“Emerging Global trends in Education”. Dr. Hari Krishna Maram, ISB Alumini, Chairman-Imperial College and Vision digital India, VC-Universal Digital University, USA was the Guest speaker for the Webinar.

The webinar provided the students with valuable information as to how the impact of technology is changing the face of education in India. He emphasised as to how skill development is gaining importance these days more than just formal education. Sir highlighted the importance of gaining skills and how they can help the management students of today in securing better placements for themselves.

The students learned how they can carve a niche in this market where there are thousands of job seekers. Overall it was a great learning experience.

Session on "Data Readiness for AI” through Video Conferencing

Department of IT, I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized Session on “Data Readiness for AI” through Video Conferencing for MCA Students on Monday, 4th November 2019 at Institute premises.

Objective of this Webinar was to provide complete understanding of Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Machine Learning(ML). AI & ML are known as pervasive technology and both used in business and personal life. All the models used in machine learning are data-driven, automatically learning patterns and information from the data. Therefore, a machine learning model is only good as the data that is fed to it. While researchers and practitioners have focused on improving the quality of the model such as neural architecture search and automated feature selection, there is a limited amount of effort towards improving the data quality for machine learning.

In this Session, Ms. Hima Patel, Research Manager, IBM Research discussed on Data quality for AI, Low quality data versus high quality data for AI, how can data quality be measured and what are some of the challenges faced with data quality for AI. Ms. Patel has also focused on specific example of label noise challenge and how this can be avoided.

Session Speaker has also answered the questions after the completion of session.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

Department of Management at I.T.S Mohan Nagar, conducted Parivartan - The Slum Education Programme on 3rd November 2019 with a new type of activity during the monthly Game Day.

The session for the day was opened by Prof. Lokesh Upreti as he tried to make the children aware about the current hazards of pollution. He explained to the learners the difference between fog and smog, pointing out why the latter was more dangerous. Interestingly, the children were aware of many of these topics, including the burning of crop stubs by the farmers.

Then it was time for the new teacher of the day Prabhanshu to take over. He expertly handled the class as he familiarised the kids with common GK concepts.

At last it was time for the game of the day. The volunteers had designed a game where the children were divided into groups of six. Each group was assigned a topic. The members of each group were required to run up and write one word each relating to the topic given. They were to avoid spelling mistakes and repetitions. The more the number of correct words, the higher the points. Thus the game was a test of English vocabulary, along with team building and presence of mind. The final winners consisted of three boys and three girls. Each of the boys received an I.T.S Cap while the girls were given a TT set each. The smallest children had been engaged separately by Mansi, and were provided with packets of Krax Curls.

With the day’s programme coming to an end, Butter Bite Biscuits and Coffee Bite toffees were distributed among the children. Prof. Lokesh Upreti planned and guided the volunteers in the conduct of the programme as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.

Sahitya AajTak Fest

AajTak, the Nation's No. 1 News Channel organized its 4thedition of its much acclaimed Literature Festival SAHITYA AAJ TAK.

The three day literature festival was scheduled for the 1st, 2nd& 3rd November 2019 at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi.

Students of MCA along with Faculty members & Staff Member of Department of I.T including Prof. Puja Dhar, Prof. Saurabh Saxena and Ms. Babita Kapila had attended the Sahitya AajTak Fest on 2nd November, 2019.

Renowned MP, Singer & Actor ,Manoj Tiwari and Ashutosh Rana, Poet & Actor were one of the speakers of the session. It was followed by book launch- 'Maun Muskan Ki Mar' published by Prabhat Prakashanand authored by Ashutosh Rana.

A confluence of poetry, prose, music and drama, the festival was an initiative to highlight the importance of art and literature in today’s era. The objective of this fest was to bring together a diverse mix of India’s renowned personalities from writers, scholars, authors, musicians, actors, columnists, business leaders, poets and theatre artists on one platform to express their views openly and engage in a meaningful dialogue.

The mega festival was attended by a host of celebrities such as singers Malini Awasthi, Roohani Sisters, Hans Raj Hans, Anup Jalota, Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari; writers Ruskin Bond, RomeshGunesekera, Upamanyu Chatterjee, Durjoy Datta, Chetan Bhagat, Anand Neelakanthan, Ashok Vajpeyi; shayarsRahatIndori, Waseem Barelvi, poets Kumar Vishwas, SwanandKirkire, Udai Prakash; lyricists Manoj Muntashir, Irshad Kamil, Sameer and many others.

Students were excited to meet and listen to many renowned Journalists of AajTak. The day was full of enjoyment and learning for all.

HR CONCLAVE- 2019 organized on 2nd November 2019.

Department of Management atI.T.S Ghaziabad organized HR conclaveon the focal theme HR 4.0 CHANGING LANDSCAPE” with the objective that how organizations are changing mainly due to technology. 

This Conclaveprovided a platform to highlight the various upcoming issues, opportunities and challenges in corporate in coming future. Eminent speakers from Industry and Academia shared their insight and valuable thoughts on various subthemes.  Mr. Dinesh Jain President( Legal& Corp Affairs) Uflex graced the occasion as a chief Guest and Dr. Debi S. Saini Emeritus Professor-HRM , IIM, Ranchi was present as a Guest of Honor. In the very beginning the program was started with inaugural session where Mr. Arpit Chadha (Vice Chairman) felicitated the chief guest and the guest of honour with plant sapling. He also shared words of wisdom and motivation to address the audience. In the inaugural session, Dr. Debi Saini make us aware what AI is actually and how it is helping and intervening in HR and Mr. Dinesh Jain shared their views like what challenges can come with AI listed as which process, Is AI can replace human workforce? He also added no one will be jobless. The Various eminent speakers during the Technical Sessions and Panel Discussion focused on concepts like AI is mainly Augmented Intelligence and we need to work on pace of change. VUCA(Volatile, uncertain, Constant, Ambiguous) is current scenario and how technology will affect various activities by 2030. We need to be ready to unlearn for adapting change. Mundane jobs can be handle by AI. With AI, value plays a key role.In Technical Session 2, eminent speakers gave an insight on topic “Leaders of 2030- Decoding New Paradigm”. Their views were “Leaders will be self, critical & bold.” There are 3 major competencies- Talent development, communication, leading change. The Top Management should be easily reachable for good leadership. Authenticity will have to be come in a big way.In session 3, Panel discussion on topic “Diversity & Inclusive Initiative” speakers enlighten and added in our knowledge by saying that there should not be only Lip Service. We need to be change from D&I to I&D. Inclusion should be worked on as society.At the end Dr.(Prof.) Vidya Sekhri(Director-Management) expressed his gratitude by Presenting Mementos as a token.

 

Overall session was very interactive and full of practical knowledge and insights shared by them on the topic which we are going to face in upcoming years.

Visit to AajTak for Sahitya Summit-2019 by MBA students

Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad visited AajTak Channel for their 4th edition of Sahitya Samelan -2019.

The summit was a three-day festival from November 1st to November 3rd.The summit was a confluence of Poetry, literature and Music. It was attended by big shots like Kailash Kher, Chetan Bhagat, Anup Jalota, Anupam Kher, Ruskin Bond, Kumar Vishwas and many more. The festival was a initiative to highlight the importance of art and literature in todays era. The program was decorated with multiple stages to celebrate literary talent in many languages where the artists expressed their views and opinions freely.

The students attended the Musical concert of Kailash Kher and were enthralled by his performing spirit. The singer mesmerised the audience with some of his hit numbers. The students then attended a Hasya Kavi Samelan where artists like Padam Shri Surendra Sharma gave some valuable lessons of life to the students. Lunch was organised for the students.

Overall it was an enjoyable and at the same time students learnt that how literature affects the various aspects of life.

Objective of this Webinar was to provide complete understanding of Powerful tools which are needed to design scalable, distributed systems that can take advantage of the agility and organizational efficiencies promised by micro services.

In this session, Mr. KhongWai Leong, Application Development Lead, Red Hat APAC discussed on the current cloud-native landscape from a technology perspective including technologies like Kubernetes, Istio, Kafka and Apache Camel. He focused on how to "glue" your heterogeneous environments, tools and approaches together in a cohesive cloud-ready strategy.

Ms. Gina Smith, Research Manager, DevOps and cloud Platforms, IDC discussed on DevOps wheel, Cloud native and IDC predictions. Ms. Smith told that Cloud native is an approach to building software as containerized micro services to exploit the advantages of the cloud computing model.

Celebration of “Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel”

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is a revered name in Indian politics. A lawyer and a political activist, he played a leading role during the Indian Independence Movement.

After independence, he was crucial in the integration of over 500 princely states into the Indian Union. He was deeply influenced by Gandhi’s ideology and principles, having worked very closely with leader. Despite being the choice of the people, on the request of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel stepped down from the candidacy of Congress President, which ultimately turned out to be the election to choose the first Prime Minister of independent India. He was the first Home Minister of Independent India and his uncompromising efforts towards consolidation of the country earned him the title ‘Iron Man of India’. 

To pay him a tribute, Department of I.T, I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad celebrated his birth anniversary on 31st October, 2019. On this occasion students of MCA participated in Essay writing competition and also shared their views about the Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

While addressing the students Chairperson-MCA, Prof. Puja Dhar and Coordinator-MCA, Prof. Smita Kansal said that we should salute the personality like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for his contribution towards our country.

Faculty members of Department of I.T including Prof. K.P Singh, Prof. Saurabh Saxena and Prof. Abhay Ray also shared their views about the Iron Man of India.

Students showed an enthusiasm for participating in this activity.

Objective of this Webinar was to provide complete understanding of Data which has critical component of business success. There is need to understand backup and recovery requirements and also provide protected environment. According to reports from IDC and Gartner, unstructured data is growing at a rate of over 60% annually 1 . This massive growth has posed new data challenges for backing up data within target windows, and cost-effectively managing this increasingly complex data landscape to comply with regulations.

Utthan Club activity

Utthan, a CSR initiative of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar organised an activity based on the theme of auspicious festival “Diwali” for the school students in the campus on 24th October, 2019.
 

Students made different decorative beautiful items to decorate their homes to celebrate Diwali festival. Students were divided into groups and they made beautiful decorative items with the help of different materials.

Students were also made understand the importance of Diwali Celebration by I.T.S volunteers.

Best decorative items made by students were awarded with prizes by Dr. Vidya Sekhri, Director (Management) and faculty coordinators, Dr. Nitin Saxena and Prof. Shilpi Vaish.
