Department of IT, I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad has organized session on “Manage the full lifecycle of your APIs – without compromising performance” in the Video Conferencing Series on Tuesday, 22nd October 2019 at Institute premises.
Objective of this Webinar was to provide complete understanding of API which are central to digital transformation. In todays’ scenario, APIs have become ubiquitous—when we order food online, hail a cab using an app on our phone, or book airline tickets, APIs are behind it. For its depth understanding, there is need to understand API Management and how to secure API Gateway. Discussion was also focused on API Gateway Deployment patterns and visibility & analytics to mature API program etc.
In Session, Mr. Shahnawaz Backer, Security Specialist, APCJ discussed about API and how API works in real life applications. Mr. Backer discussed about API Management, API gateway and its related deployment patterns. Session Speaker has also answered the questions after the completion of session.
It was overall good learning experience for all the participants.

Faculty chaired Business Plan Competition at Ideal Institute of Management and Technology

Dr. V N Bajpai, Professor, I.T.S Ghaziabad was invited to judge Business Plan Competition in the event
“Gyan Manthan: Techno Culture Fest” of Ideal Institute of Management and Technology (affiliated to GGS Indraprastha University, New Delhi) on 22nd October, 2019. More than 25 teams of various institutions from Delhi, NCR participated in competition and presented their Business Plans, including Automobile, Herbal Products, Chocolates, Restaurant, Tourism Destination, Real Estate etc.
In his opening remarks Dr. Bajpai shared the essence of Business plan in Management education and highlighted the key aspects of a good plan. At the end he congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of all participating teams
Guest Lecture on International Business Management for students of MBA 2018 – 20 batch

Department of Management organized guest lecture to explain the Importance of Export Import documentation procedures in International Business cannot be stressed enough.
One of the most crucial components of a successful international business transaction is the accurate completion of required export documentation and import documentation. Failure to produce such documentation can hinder the dispatch of products by a manufacturer or supplier, and can ultimately impede the timely receipt of goods by the customer.
Guest speaker for the session was Prof. H.P Singh, Project Director & Chief Consultant, NIESBUD (The National Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development, under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India). An Alumnus of IIM- Ahmedabad, and a certified trainer of ILO (International Labour Organization) and IFC (International Finance Corporation),Prof. Singh has been associated with NIESBUD for over 10 years. Prof. Singh has conducted more than 100 (107) workshops on Export procedure & Documentation and delivered more than 200 lectures on Entrepreneurship Development.
The resource person shared his vast, valuable knowledge and experience with the students. He covered the topics of export import documentation, payment terms along with contemporary challenges of International logistics and International Marketing. The session was very interactive and inspiring for the students.
‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

Department of Management at I.T.S Mohan Nagar, conducted Parivartan - The Slum Education Programme on 20th October 2019, dedicating it to the celebration of the Festival of Lights.
As is the norm, the proceedings opened with an explanation about why Diwali is observed every year. Debutante volunteers Ravika and Anamika made an impressive start as they went about discussing how the occasion is supposed to mark Lord Ram’s victory over the rakshasha king Ravan, symbolising the triumph of Good over Evil. Different facets of the protagonists’ lives were also highlighted during the course of the class. The volunteers also used the session to make the children aware about why they need to be more responsible while burning crackers during the festival, and how such crackers are ultimately harmful for the environment.
The remaining course of the session was dedicated to a revision of concepts learnt during the day. The questions centred on the mythological aspects, as well as more realistic isues like safety and protecting the environment. Those who answered correctly were rewarded with pack of Frooti each. As always the day’s activities ended with the distribution of laddoos, ‘Britannia Good Day’ biscuits and ‘Parle Melody’ toffees. Ever so often passing folk get inspired by our activities and donate foodstuff for giving out to the kids.
Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers. Prof. Lokesh Upreti planned and guided the volunteers in the conduct of the programme as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.

Department of I.T, ITS, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized “SAMAGRA-2019”, an inter-institutional Techno-Cultural Fest on Saturday 19thOctober, 2019.
The event received registration from 50 institutes in various activities and witnessed good participation from institutes of NCR and far off places.The event comprised of different activities under four categories including Technical, Cultural, Literary and Fine Arts. The eventwas full of fun, great display of talent, commitment, high class performances in all the categories.
SAMAGRA-2019 was inaugurated by lamp lightening before Goddess Sarasvati by Vice Chairman, I.T.S- The Education Group, Sh. Arpit Chadha , Chief Guest Dr. A.K. Excursion Trip organized for MBA I on 18th October, 2019

Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized a trip to Pratapgarh Farms for the students of MBA I.
The objective of this trip was to develop leadership quality and focus on team building activities among the fresh batch. The students were accompanied by faculty members Dr. Satish Kumar, Dr. Anusha Aggarwal, Dr. Nitin Saxena, Dr. Surendra Tiwari, Prof. Jyotsana and Prof. Parul Gupta.
All the students enthusiastically participated in various activities like, Camel Ride, Rock Climbing, Cricket, Volley Ball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Archery, Tug of war, Carom, Chess, Ludo, Camel Ride, Tractor Ride, Bullock Cart Ride, Mehndi, Head Massage, Pottery and many other interesting activities in the farm. The students enjoyed a lot and shall always cherish the memories of the trip.
Guest Lecture organized for MBA Students

On 17thOctober 2019, a guest talk was organized for the students of MBA First Year (Batch 2019-21).
The topic of the session was ‘Indian Economy- Vision 2025’. MrJayant Srivastava, Senior Consultant KPMG, had an informative session with the students wherein he explained how India has fared in the last few years and what the future path may look like for the national economy.
Mr Srivastava used numerous examples and factual data to bring forth the current positive as well as negative aspects prevailing in the economy. He discussed in detail the steps being taken by the Government of India to improve the condition of our economy at the global level. The numerous examples given by MrSrivastava helped in creating a good understanding of the discussion among the students.
The students took active participation in the session and expressed their eagerness to have such sessions in future as well.
Faculty Members from Department of IT Attended One Day Workshop of AI By IBM and Tech Data

Two faculty of Department of IT including Prof. Abhay Ray and Prof. K. P Singh attended one day workshop at Radission Blu , New Delhi on “ Redefine Edutech with AI ” from 9 AM to 2 PM.
The Workshop was divided into 5 sessions wherein the experts from Tech Data , Nioda, and IBM India addressed the participants. . The event was formally kick started at 9:00am with formal introduction of participants and the resource persons.
In the first two technical session, the experts from Techdata briefed about the functionality and advantages of IBM Power AC 992 series servers and their application of these servers to process huge amount of data and perform analysis of data by the use of AI .
In next two session, Mr. Hari Ramasubramanium, Business Development and Relationship manager and his team from IBM India discussed about various courses and their advantages , application and execution in technical courses though their center of excellence and year wise mode for students, Mr. Hari also discussed, in what way , these courses are useful and enhance the employability of students. He also motivated the attendee faculty members to choose the cutting edge technology from IBM portal for students and follow best teaching, technical training practices and technology to make the teaching more effective and useful for students. The last session was Q&A sessions in which the IBM team handled the queries of faculty members.
It was really a nice learning experience and a day full of learning & networking.
Stress reduction and Wellness Workshop organized for MBA and MCA students

Department of Management at I.T.s Ghaziabad a workshop on Stress reduction and Wellness was organized for the students of MBA and MCA Program. The aim of the workshop was to emphasise the importance of Yoga and Ayurveda in reducing stress and enhancing wellness in young generation.
The workshop was conducted by Yogi Dr. Amrit Raj, Maa Yoga Ashram, Arogyadham Ayurveda Holistic Treatment Centre. In this highly energetic and interactive session he demonstrated Kriyas, Mudras, Meditation and Pranayama techniques which can be practiced for reducing stress and improving the quality of life. He also gave mantras on healthy eating habits and healthy lifestyle principles. The participants found the workshop very informative and inspirational for them to focus on enriching their lives.
The workshop was organized in the Dronacharya Auditorium from 9:45 AM onwards. The students took active participation in the session and expressed their eagerness to have such sessions in future as well.
Workshop Application Development using Python

Workshop on “Application Development using Python” for the MCA students was organized by Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad on 12-10-2019 has conducted successfully. Abhay Kumar Ray from Department of IT was the key resource person for this workshop.
Objective of the workshop :
- This workshop must help the students to understand and take better use of the Python programming language and its supporting module like Networkx, PiL, numpy , Tkinter etc .
- After this workshop students can develop simple window form base application.
Pre-requisite: Basics of computer ,algorithm and flowchart.
Pedagogy:
- Session based on introduction to python and its major supporting modules is conducted in Lecture cum Discussion mode.
- Rest of the session conducted in Computer Lab by live demonstration of each of the topic.
Content of the workshop:
- Introduction to Python, Introduction to Anaconda, Spider ,Installation of tools to be used. Data Types, Variable, Operators.
- Loops , Control statement ,List , Record and dictionary with demonstration
- Introduction to major modules and windows application development using Python (Tkinter ) with demonstration.
25 students from MCA on date 10-10-2019 were participated in this workshop. Students showed their interest to learn this technology and I am sure that participants of this workshop can develop apps by using python and its supporting modules .

For this session, I.T.S MCA Alumni, Mr. Hemant Kumar, (MCA Batch 2007-2010), Training Basket, Sr. Corporate Trainer & Consultant was invited to conduct this workshop and address to the MCA Students.
In this session, Mr. Hemant Kumar interacted with existing students and discussed about latest trends and technologies like Angular JS, Node JS. He has also focused on understanding of Angular, Installation Process and hands on HTML5 He has also guided them to focus on individual enhancement of coding skills.
He suggested to students to do hands on HTML 5 for better understanding of concept.
He has also suggested How to prepare for a career of choice and succeed. Mentioning about the latest trends he said that in spite of all developments the core remains almost same and hence fundamentals needs to be worked upon and should be made strong. It was truly mesmerizing to listen him and his thought process.
This event was in the series of Invited talks by eminent alumni of repute by Dept of IT of the institute with an objective to provide the detailed insight of the latest developments in interpersonal skills, technology, research issues and futuristic development.
Mr Hemant Kumar has also interacted with students and answered queries asked during the session.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

A ReportDepartment of Management at I.T.S Mohan Nagar, conducted Parivartan - The slum education program on 6th October 2019 covering the topics of some geometry basics, while also using the opportunity to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation.
The first session was about Maths - more specifically geometry. Ashish initiated the session talking about the Angles and Triangles. Prabhanshu discussed about the various types of angles like Acute, Right, Obtuse and the different categories of triangles based on their sides and angles. The experienced Atul assisted them in making the session more effective.
The second session was about storytelling. We had two topics to discuss with the children. The first topic was about Gandhi Jayanti. Ananya and Sudha took the lead and started talking about Mahatma Gandhi the person, his family background and his contribution towards the country specifically, as well as society in general. They also explained the effective and far reaching principles of Gandhiji like Ahinsa (Non-violence), Swachchhata (Sanitation) and Saadgi (Simplicity).
Last but not the least, it was the time to provide a background to the forthcoming Dussehra celebrations. Sukriti gave a brief about why we celebrate this holy occasion and inspired them with a message that "Truth and Virtues always Win."
Finally it was time to ring in the close of the day’s classes with the distribution of 'Mango Frooti' and 'Parle Eclairs' toffees among the children.
