Faculties of Department of MBA conducted FDP at Gaurs International School, Noida

A successful Management Development Program (MDP) was conducted on July 05, 2025, at the premises of RACE Eco Chain Limited, Sahibabad, for its employees.

The program was expertly facilitated by Prof. Parul Gupta and Dr. Smita Barik, both Assistant Professors from the Department of Management at the Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad. This MDP was strategically designed with two core objectives: to cultivate highly motivated and cohesive teams for enhanced organizational productivity and to deepen participants' self-awareness for improved professional performance and leadership capabilities.

The MDP employed a highly interactive and activity-based approach to deliver its comprehensive content. Key activities included the use of professional assessment tools to help the 25 participating employees from various departments gain a comprehensive understanding of their individual strengths, motivators, and communication styles. Furthermore, the facilitators utilized engaging team-building exercises and collaborative simulations to effectively convey the crucial concepts of fostering strong, connected teams that are unified and driven by shared organizational objectives. The methodology was diverse and dynamic, incorporating self-reporting measures for participant profiling, case studies and storytelling to illustrate real-world scenarios, and various group exercises and discussions to ensure maximum engagement and practical learning.

As a direct result of their participation in the MDP, the employees achieved several significant positive outcomes. They gained an enhanced awareness of themselves and their colleagues, which significantly contributed to improved interpersonal understanding and more effective collaboration within their teams. This directly led to improved team dynamics, fostering a more collaborative and efficient working environment across departments. Participants also acquired actionable strategies and practical tools that they could readily implement to build and maintain highly motivated and high-performing teams within RACE Eco Chain Limited. The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive, with participants particularly commending the program's practical approach and its immediate applicability to their daily workplace challenges. Many also expressed a strong interest in future follow-up sessions, specifically focusing on advanced team leadership, conflict resolution, and strategic communication skills.

Department of MBA organized Staff Development Programme on “The Power of Faith in Overcoming Challenges”

The Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, orchestrated an inspiring Staff Development Programme on “The Power of Faith in Overcoming Challenges” on June 27, 2025. Hosted in the aesthetically elegant New Seminar Hall (AB-IV Block), the session witnessed the warm presence of 28 committed non-teaching staff members from both UG and PG departments. Dr. Uma Gulati graced the inaugural moments of the event with her dignified presence.

 

Anchored by the resource persons Dr. Sanjeev Tandon and Prof. Shilpi Rana, the session unfolded as a heartfelt exploration of inner resilience. It began with a soul-touching icebreaker, “Faith Means to Me,” wherein participants penned personal expressions on colourful sticky notes and adorned a vibrant “Faith Wall”: a collective mural of belief and hope.Through evocative narratives and stirring video clips, participants were introduced to the unwavering spirit of Arunima Sinha, Dashrath Manjhi, and Nick Vujicic: emblems of grit, grace, and the miraculous strength of faith. A captivating outdoor exercise, “Confidence Walk,” tested and deepened interpersonal trust, as blindfolded participants were led solely by words of encouragement: an unforgettable metaphor of guided belief and shared empathy.The session culminated in a serene segment titled “Faith in Action: My Daily Mantra,” where participants embraced the power of self-affirmation and visualization, crafting personal mantras to serve as their spiritual compass in daily life.Enriched with symbolism, emotion, and engagement, the SDP was a rejuvenating confluence of inspiration and introspection. It rekindled the participants’ inner flame of faith (personal, professional & spiritual): equipping them to rise above life’s adversities with calm confidence and courageous conviction.

The SDP concluded with heartfelt participant feedback, highlighting inspiration, emotional rejuvenation, and the facilitators' empathetic approach. The event was praised for its relevance and transformative impact, fostering personal growth, community spirit, and spiritual connectedness. It stood out as a memorable initiative underscoring faith as a powerful force to overcome challenges.

MBA Faculty Participated in 5-Day FDP on Business Analytics for Decision Making

Dr. Ashish K Jha has participated in a comprehensive 5-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) from April 21, 2025 to April 25, 2025.

It focused on "Fundamentals of Business Analytics and Data-Driven Decision Making". The FDP was organized by Association of Indian Universities, Gautam Buddha University-Academic & Administrative Development Centre (AIU-GBU AADC). The FDP provided both theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience across key tools and techniques essential for modern business analytics.

On Day 1, the sessions emphasized the fundamentals of Business Analytics, explaining the distinction between Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Science, and highlighting various types of analytics (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive). A hands-on session on Excel focused on essential techniques such as data cleaning, pivot tables, and advanced functions like LOOKUP and conditional formatting.

Day 2 delved into Business Analysis frameworks, documentation processes such as BRD and FRD, and best practices in Data Visualization and storytelling. This day also included practical exposure to Power BI, enabling participants to design interactive dashboards and work with DAX functions.

On Day 3, the focus shifted to Data Analytics using Python. Participants were introduced to key libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib, followed by a session on the role of a business analyst in project management, covering methodologies like Agile and Waterfall. Practical work involved performing exploratory data analysis (EDA) and basic forecasting models using Python.

Day 4 explored advanced dashboarding and storytelling techniques, offering comparative insights into Power BI, Tableau, and Looker Studio. Business case studies such as customer churn analysis and sales forecasting were discussed. Participants engaged in hands-on practice building interactive dashboards using Tableau and Looker Studio.

Finally, Day 5 was a full-day deep dive into Tableau.

The FDP concluded with the design and publication of comprehensive business dashboards addressing various domains like sales, marketing, and HR.

Overall, the FDP significantly enhancedexpertise in business analytics tools and methodologies, equipping the learners with the necessary skills to integrate data-driven decision-making into academic, research, and consultancy projects.

Faculty Development Programme on Research Design

Institute of Technology & Science organized an FDP on Research Design for the MBA faculty members. The resource person for the session was Prof. (Dr.) Debarshi Mukherjee of the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi.

The session looked into some of the fundamentals of designing a research study. Dr Mukherjee interacted with the faculty members to know about how they are approaching their respective research areas. He stated that it was important to identify how the research could address lacunae in existing literature, mentioning that it was necessary to ensure that the work was actually needed. For this purpose, it was more worthwhile to deal in theories rather than simple references of past work. He also explained that it was important to understand the context of the respondents in order to properly evaluate their responses. Last but not the least, Dr Mukherjee provided a roundup of different classes of bias that could creep into the research and the means of addressing them.

It was a very engrossing session which left the participants looking forward to more such interactions. In the end everybody came back with a clearer view of the path ahead and the methods to be adopted.

FDP on Case Writting & Analysis

The Department of Management organized a workshop on Case Writing and Analysis for its faculty members on 5th of August, 2023.

The resource person for the session was Dr. Deepak Tandon, Professor, IMI, New Delhi. Dr Sanjeev Tandon initiated proceedings by welcoming the guest and referred to Dr Deepak Tandon’s impressive experience in corporate as well as academics.

Dr V.N. Bajpai, Director, I.T.S Mohan Nagar, then provided a context to the day’s session, explaining the genesis of the idea behind the workshop. He emphasised that case studies are an essential aid in a management classroom and hence faculty members need to build on the skill of developing the same. Dr Bajpai traced out the origins of case writing, including its history in management education in India. He hoped that ultimately it would lead to faculty members writing their own cases in diverse areas.

Finally, Dr Deepak Tandon took centrestage, dissecting the anatomy of a proper case study in management. Dr Tandon advised that it was always a good idea to prepare a case in partnership with others. He referred to explicit and implicit contexts and pointed out that the content of the case should be compatible with the intended readers. A number of cases based on recent occurrences in the world of business were used to bear out the points made during the session.

All in all, it was a fruitful way to spend the day with a newlearning experience. Participating faculty members acknowledged the depth of knowledge and authority of Dr Tandon in the area of case development.

Hence, to know and get familiar with one of the most prominent trends of the current software industry (i.e. Microsoft Power BI), Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad has organized a Five days Faculty Development program on “Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate” in association with ICT academy from  July 31, 2023 to  August 4, 2023. The faculty development programme is inaugurated on July 31, 2023. The dignitaries on the stage were Director IT & UG Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, Mr.Raghvendra Microsoft Certified Expert from ICT Academy, Mr,Satyendra Narayan Relationship Manager, ICT Academy, Prof. Puja Dhar Chairperson MCA, Prof.SaurabhSaxena&Prof.AlokKapil from Department of IT. Throughout all the Five days, every session included the Hands-on &interactive modules where faculties are trained on creating the data models, dashboards, reports and publishing them on to clouds with the support of Power BI services.

Staff Development Program on The Power of Positivity: Cultivating a Winning Mindset in the Workplace

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized a “Staff Development Program” on “The Power of Positivity: Cultivating a Winning Mindset in the Workplace” on 30th June 2023.

 

The objective of this SDP was to make the participants understand the importance of winning mindset and positive attitude for self and organizational growth.

Director, Dr. Timira Shukla welcomed all the staff members, appreciated their work and encouraged them to attend this valuable session for further enhancing their team working skills and develop a winning attitude.

Resource persons for the program, Dr. Shikha Arora and Prof. Yachna Malhotra conducted various innovative activities to train the staff on Positive thinking and growth mindset.

An ice-breaking session was conducted initially to help everyone connect with each other. During this session, participants introduced themselves and shared their feelings of gratitude towards various things and events in their lives.

The training comprised of a combination of slide shows and engaging activities aimed at sensitizing the staff members to understand and develop a winning mindset through self-exploration, demonstrate a positive attitude in the workplace, and comprehend group dynamics and team-building skills.

Activities such as, Minefield for developing trust, interpersonal communication and team building were conducted to help participants understand and demonstrate the importance of these aspects. A total of 16 staff members actively participated in the program and thoroughly enjoyed the session.

The outputs and experiences they had during the program overwhelmed the participants, making the session interesting and enjoyable for all.

Staff Development Programme on the topic “Understanding Workplace (Managing Change & Stress)"

I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a “Staff Development Programme" (SDP) on 30th September 2022

on the topic “Understanding Workplace (Managing Change & Stress)”. The resource persons for this SDP were Dr. Sanjeev Tandon and Prof. Shilpi Rana. The presence of Dr. V.N. Bajpai (Director) had added grace to the occasion. He spoke about the significance of the SDP and the relevance of the topic in the present work- life scenario. He stressed on the fact that change is an inevitable aspect of any academic institution. He highlighted the importance of team and individual in the changing environment.
The SDP started with an activity being administered to the participants by Prof. Shilpi. It was an exercise to make the participants comfortable and to enable them to gel with one another. The
discussion on change and the strategies adopted by the participants to mitigate that change was introduced by Dr. Sanjeev. 

Participants shared their incidences of change and how that change induced stress in their life. Various causes of stress at the workplace and how to deal with that stress was discussed. Levels of stresses were discussed and the stress management techniques were elaborated by the resource persons. 

The SDP ended with a meditation technique, where participants were instructed to close their eyes and imagine good things (location or place or incidence). Breathing exercises were subsequently administered to calm their minds. A video of “The Steps in Stress Management Process” was also shown to the group.

Overall, it was a learning session for the participants, where they could derive and gain solace with participative knowledge sharing on this burning topic. The SDP was attended by participants from various departments of the institute.
