Management faculty attended a one- week FDP, an Initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India Electronics & ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati

Prof. Shilpi Vaish, Faculty of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad attended a one-week online Faculty Development Program on "Classroom Management Skills & Online Delivery Techniques" from 4 -9 October, 2021 .

This FDP was an Initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India Electronics & ICT Academy IIT Guwahati, Assam, organized in Association with Government Model College, Kaziranga and was a 40 Hours of course for the per day timing of 10 am to 5 pm.

The online FDP witnessed participation from 50 selected Faculty members and PHD Research Scholars from across India. It aimed to impart training to a level where faculties will be benefited in terms of the teaching style, personality improvement, classroom delivery and help the faculties to create a strong mentor mentee relation required for overall development.

Continuous Monitoring and Assessment was conducted by E&ICT Academy IIT Guwahati. The weightage of the Assessment (100 Marks) as follows:

o Theory Assessment (MCQ/Descriptive) : 30 Marks

o Practical Assessment/Assignment/Activities : 40 Marks

o Classroom Attendance/Monitoring and Assignments : 30 Marks

On the basis of percentage, the certificate was awarded. All the resource persons were masters of their own field and seasoned trainers. This extremely informative FDP will help me in training participants with a variety of modules and different styles of conduct which can enhance their overall personality.

Management faculty attended a one- week FDP on “Data Analytics: Tools & Techniques”.

Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, the Faculty of Management Department, I.T.S Ghaziabad,  attended a five days Virtual FDP on ‘Data Analytics: Tools & Techniques’ from September 20-24, 2021 organized by the School of Management Studies (SMS), University of Hyderabad (UoH).

 

The online FDP witnessed participation from 80 selected Faculty members from across India. The resource persons of the program were mainly from the University of Hyderabad. The details of the topics covered are mentioned below-

·         Introduction to Data analytics

·         Analytics and Algorithms

·         Data visualization: Graphs & Charts

·         Measurement and Scaling

·         Concepts of Probability

·         Choice of the right statistical technique for data analysis

This FDP followed a peer-learning approach. It was a highly interactive and intensive program that included daily quizzes and an exam for final assessment based on which the certificate was awarded. This was a great learning experience for Dr. Gurpreet Kaur which would help her in the teaching-learning process in the field of data analytics.

Virtual alumni talk by Mr.Tushar Kotnala, Investment Consultant Analyst for MBA (2020-22) Batch

Department of Management , Institute of Technology and Science , Ghaziabad organized an Alumni Talk for MBA 2020-22 batch (Finance Specialization) participants on 28th September 2021.  

The speaker for the session was Mr. Tushar Kotnala, Investment Consultant Analyst  and alumnus of MBA 2014-16 Batch. The theme for the session was “Opportunities As Analyst”.

The aim of the session was to make all the students aware about the roles and responsibilities of an investment analyst. Mr. Tushar explained the pre- requisites for becoming an analyst. He also shared his journey from ICICI Direct to Mercer. He discussed the job description of his current profile.

He also explained how students can prepare for technical profiles in the finance industry. He discussed various job opportunities available in Stock Market, Mutual Fund AMC’s, Debt Market etc. At the end of the session he shared some  value-added courses like advanced excel, VBA, which can add an edge in participants'  profiles.

2nd Ghaziabad District Ranking Table Tennis Tournament-2021

Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad in association with Ghaziabad Association of Table Tennis hosted 2nd Ghaziabad District Ranking Table Tennis Tournament-2021 at the Sports Complex of I.T.S, Ghaziabad campus from 24-26 September, 2021. Total 169 players participated in the event from Ghaziabad district.
 

There were 6 categories of Boy’s & Girl’s in the tournament. These are as follows

1. Under-11

2. Under-13

3. Under-15

4. Under-17

5. Under-19

6. Above-19

The tournament was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S - The Education Group & Vice President of Ghaziabad Association of Table Tennis, other dignitaries were Shri Surinder Sood, Director (PR), I.T.S - The Education Group, Dr. D. K. Agarwal, Director, I.T.S School of Management, Dr. Sunil Pandey, Director (IT) & I.T.S-UG Campus, Prof. Nancy Sharma, Vice Principal, I.T.S-UG Campus, Dr. D. K. Pandey, Sports Coordinator, Shri Rishi Raj Tyagi, Secretary (Ghaziabad Association of Table Tennis), Mr. Kashish Arora, Chief Referee and Mr. Kapil, Sports Officer, I.T.S, Ghaziabad.

This Championship aimed for the selection of the players for the state team and the development of Table Tennis in the district of Ghaziabad.

The closing ceremony of this championship was held on 26th September, 2021 in august presence of the Chief Guest Shri Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S -The Education Group & Vice President of Ghaziabad Association of Table Tennis, other dignitaries were, Dr. D. K. Agarwal, Director, I.T.S School of Management, Dr. Sunil Pandey, Director(IT) & I.T.S-UG Campus, Prof. Nancy Sharma, Vice Principal, I.T.S-UG Campus, Dr. D. K. Shri Arpit Chadha congratulated and expressed his best wishes to all the winners and participants for their active participation and encouraged them to excel in future. Shri Rishi Raj Tyagi, Secretary (Ghaziabad Association of Table Tennis), congratulated all the winners and conveyed best wishes for future success.

I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad has a rich tradition to reward and honour top class sports persons like Binod Kambli, Lokesh Tewatia, Ashish Nehra, Piyush Chawla, Sushil Kumar in the glorious past and to organize and participate in various sports activities to promote and encourage sportsmanship amongst the students of I.T.S and citizens of Ghaziabad district.

Invited as a Resource Person in FDP on Emerging Financial Management and Accounting Techniques organized by University of Burdwan

Dr. Indraneel Mandal of the Department of Management, Institute of Technology and Science, Ghaziabad had been invited as a resource person for a session on “Time Series Analysis” as part of an FDP on Emerging Financial Management and Accounting Techniques organised by the Department of Business Administration, University of Burdwan under the aegis of the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.

 

The session was held on the morning of 22nd September, 2021, and was attended by around a hundred participants who had registered for the FDP.

Dr Mandal focused on the basics of the time series method which is commonly applied in finance and econometrics. He first discussed the basic elements of a time series and referred to techniques like the moving averages method, exponential smoothing and regression analysis. He then went on to relatively sophisticated areas like unit root testing and cointegration, which find substantial application in academic research.

Several of the participants, which included both academicians and research scholars, had questions which were dealt with by Dr Mandal. Finally the convener of the session thanked Dr. Mandal for being a part of the FDP programme.

The objective of the session was to make students aware about how Attitude is the most unique dimension for interview success. It will help them embrace a more positive attitude and improve the chances of Interview success. The session witnessed a 100 above participants from Management & Engineering background including Faculty members. The session was full of enthusiasm & Zeal among students to understand how to build a winning attitude for an Interview success. Guest Lecture “Managing Project Using Quantitative Techniques” for MBA students.

I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Department of Management organized an Online Guest Lecture on the topic “Managing Projects Using Quantitative Techniques” for MBA first year students on 31st July, 2021. Director (Management) Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Agarwal welcomed the speaker, Ms. Alpana Gautam.

 

Ms. Alpana Gautamis presently working as an Infrastructure Service Manager. She is a technocrat with 13 years of rich experience in the IT/Telecom sector, with a variety of roles in transition / operations/ support, process expert and project manager.

The session was focused on project lifecycle and the stages that are included in it i.e., initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control. She also discussed the project triple constraint i.e., time, scope, cost and how a manager uses these constraints for the betterment of the organization and the stakeholder. And in the end Ms. Alpana discussed some of the common techniques for project planning which are helpful in Breakdown structure, Gantt chart, Kanban, Analogous Estimation, Parametric Estimation, Bottom-up Estimation, Critical Path Method (CPM), Program Evaluation; Review Technique (PERT).

Q/A round was held at the end where the speaker cleared all the queries of the students regarding project management. It was an engrossing lecture. The event concluded with the presentation of virtual plaques as a token of gratitude and remembrance to the guest speaker Ms. Alpana Gautam.

Online Elementary FDP on “Quantification of Human Resource with HR Analytics’" from 19.07.2021 to 23.07.2021 at DATTA MEGHE INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES.

The online FDP witnessed participation from 80 selected Faculty members from across India. The resource person of the program was Ms. Megha Dixit, DGM – HR & Training, Cancer Hospital, Bombay & Dr. Rahul Pratap Singh Kaurav , Assistant Professor, Prestige institute of Management, Gwalior.  The details of the topics covered were Business Analytics-The HR Perspective, Business Understanding for HR Initiatives , HR Balance Score Card, Data Analytics with tool pak , HR Analytics- Tableau .

There were daily assignments given by the organizing Institutions. At the end of the training program one test was also conducted, in which it was mandatory to achieve minimum 60% marks.  This was a great learning experience for me while attending all the sessions and it would definitely help me in my teaching-learning process in the field of HR analytics.

It was highly interactive with practical applications of analytics and Tableau. The resource person being a HR Analytics trainer, brought his valuable knowledge and applications to the discussion and created deep learning during the entire  FDPprogram.

for MBA-II Semester students. The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Anshul Srivastava, Digital Marketing Manager at Pro QC International, Noida.

The workshop was aimed at giving hands on experience on website and blog development. Mr. Anshul explained the related concepts of webhosting and domain name. He further demonstrated how easily one can use the tool of Word press and build a website without coding. He also told students about the various plugins which can be used while using Word Press and how social media tabs can be inserted. The students also learnt how web pages can be developed ad edited.

Further in the session he also explained how Yoast SEO functions and how it can be used as a plugin in order to achieve SEO rankings. Towards the end of the session Google analytics was explained. All the real time data was used to explain the functionality of the tool, such as incoming traffic, page views, session duration etc.

Students raised their queries with respect to SEO and inorganic way of marketing. A virtual plaque was presented at the session as a token of gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Anshul.

Alumni Talk

The Department of Management of Institute of Technology and Science, MohanNagar, Ghaziabad organised an Alumni Talk on “Grow with SAP”on 10th July, 2021 for the MBA students in virtual mode (Zoom).

 The talk was addressed by Ms. Annu Thapa, an alumnus of MBA(2012-14) batch. Ms. Annu is working as a Senior Manager with EXL. She has also contributed her services as a SeniorExecutive in Genpact India Private Limited. With a working experience of more than 6 years, she gave some practical lessons to the students.

She introduced the concept of SAP among the students, and indicated as to how important it is in their upcoming career. She also highlighted some practical tips which the student should take care during the placement interviews. He talk was mainly focussed on how the students can be more prepared to face the questions in their placement interviews.

The MBA students especially finance specialisation raised several queries regarding various certification and trainings related to their subject. The talk was attended by more than 130 MBA students.

At the end of the session, a virtual plaque was presented by Dr. Nitin Saxena as a token of gratitude. Overall, the session was very informative and practical.

A Session on “Stress Management through Yoga” on the Occasion of "International Yoga Day" for PGDM/MBA students

During the session Students & Faculty members performed various stress reliever exercises like; Anulom-Vilom, Chakrasana, Kapalbhati etc.

Students enjoyed all the exercises and learnt them. At the end Dr. Vidya Sekhri, Director- Management, during her address to the gathering said, that, in the fast-pace modern world and globalization, the academic fraternity and students, knowingly and unknowingly undergo through some pressure and stress which are resulting some physical and mental disorders like lack of discipline, confidence, concentration, focus, memory, strength, efficiency, creativity and resulting in chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, code of conduct and  disrupted relationships. Therefore in present scinerio, Yoga is the only solution of all these problems, and hence we all should do yoga exercises everyday. Director Ma'am also thanked to Acharya Mukesh ji for the wonderful session taken by him.
