Cesim Summit 1.0 at Ghaziabad

Prof. Abhay Kumar Ray  and Mr. Balmukund Singh  attended the “CESIM Summit 1.0 ”   at Radisson Blu Towers, Sector 14, Kaushambi , Ghaziabad on 2nd March 2024.x

The summit was constitute of three panel discussion and one demonstration session  based on theme :"AI enabled business learning :The opportunity and Challenges ". All three panel discussions session based on "Exploring the potential and challenges of AI , Enhancing learning outcomes through AI and Future of AI in personalized management education" . All session  were moderated by Mr. Vinod Patil , country head  Cesim India and panelist were from the  different directors and professor from Amity university , IMS Ghaizabad , Noida international university , GLA -Mathura , GL-Bajaj etc.

In demonstration session , Mr. Veijo Myosti  CEO CESIM and his team discussed and demonstrated CESIM AI enabled E-learning platform where student can learn and get personalized recommendation system for his further study. It was really a good platform to learn and grow.

Department of MCA organized one day Excursion Trip for MCA Students to Pratap Garh Farms, Jajjar, Haryana on February 24, 2024.

Students were also accompanied with Faculty members of Department of I.T. On the arrival, students had a royal welcome by live folk musician dancers dressed up in their Rajasthan costumes. Students enjoyed many fun, sports activities outdoor and indoor including different rides like Camel ride, Camel cart ride, Bullock cart ride, Tractor ride. There were many Ethnic Games including Gilli Danda, Pithoo, Lattoo, Kanchegoli, Archery, Gulel (sling shot), Dart shooting, Air gun shooting, Kushti, Croquet, Trampoline jumping, Basketball, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Ludo and Snakes and ladders were also. Students were also served with different varieties of food and soft drinks. At the end of day students enjoyed DJ Music. The day was full of enjoyment, fun and excitement for Students of MCA.

Research Convention on “Building A Resilient Economy through Digitalisation Transformation and Green Innovation”

The 6th Research Convention was organised at the Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad on the theme of “Building A Resilient Economy through Digitalisation Transformation and Green Innovation”. The distinguished guests for the session included Dr Amarendra Kathua, Former High Commissioner of India and Former Secretary (SA) in the Ministry of External Affairs as the Chief Guest; Dr C.S. Mohapatra, Former Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and IEPF Chair Professor at NCAER, who was the Guest of Honour; and Ms. Saraswati Venkataraman, Airport Director, Airport Authority of India, Hindon Airport as a keynote speaker.

The day started with the welcome address by Dr V.N Bajpai, Director, Institute of Technology and Science, who referred to the theme and spoke about how digitalisation is at the forefront of developments. Shri Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S Mohan Nagar, lauded the initiative and exhorted the students to expand the boundaries of their knowledge. Dr Rajeev Johari, Convener, Research Convention 2024 provided an overview of the day’s events. There Were knowledgeable insights from Director PR, Shri Surendra Sood, ashe emphasised on the innovative capacity of Indians.

In his address Dr. Kathua emphasised the pivotal role of digitalisation in shaping a resilient economy. Guest of HonourDr. Mohapatra Explored economic policies, innovation, and the crucial role research plays in shaping resilient economies in his insightful speech. Ms. Venkataraman delved into sustainable aviation practices, emphasising on the importance of green innovation in the aviation sector.

The inaugural session was followed by three panel discussions. The first was offline. The other two were online sessions involving VCs of distinguished institutions and a selection of international experts, respectively.

Panel Discussion I

The first panel discussion the day was held in offline mode. The theme for the discussion was ‘Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Startups, Culture and Sustainability’. The session was moderated by Dr S.P. Sharma, Chief Economist and Deputy Secretary General, PHDCCI. Dr Sharma provided the context for the discussion through his remarks, where he referred to various financial crises, and how the Indian economy performed in such situations. The other panelists included Dr Divya Sethi, consultant, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India; Mr Arunoday Bajpai, Chief Operating Officer, IIM Lucknow Enterprise Incubation Centre; Mr Himanshu Singhal, CEO, NSUT-IIF (Netaji Subhash University of Technology Incubation & Innovation Foundation, Delhi); Ms. Sarita Sharma, Founder and Director, Orangestar Logistics Pvt. Ltd.; and Mr Vikas Madan, Director, EDSOL Informatics Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. Sethi, with her expertise in culture and sustainability, provided valuable insights into the interconnectedness of cultural practices and sustainable development.Mr. Bajpai shared profound insights into the challenges and opportunities within the defence and aerospace sectors.Mr. Singhal discussed the evolving landscape of innovation and artificial intelligence. Ms. Sharmashared valuable experiences and insights into the challenges and advancements in international logistics.Mr. Madan contributed perspectives on education entrepreneurship.

The diverse expertise of the panellists and the engaging discussions reflected a commitment towards providing a platform for in-depth exploration of contemporary issues in entrepreneurship and innovation. The session offered valuable takeaways for students and faculty alike, fostering a culture of knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Panel Discussion II

The post lunch section of the Convention began with an interaction among decision makers of leading national and international universities on the theme ‘Towards a Resilient Economy’. The distinguished personalities in attendance included Dr Mayank Saxena, Pro Vice Chancellor, Sage University, Indore; Dr. Sandeep Poddar, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Lincoln University, Malaysia; Dr. Devendra K Panda, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Medi-Caps University, Indore, M.P.; and Dr. M. K. Vajpayee Vice-Chancellor, Sir Padmavat Singhania University, Udaipur.

Dr Saxena, who was the moderator, kicked off the sessionby emphasising the pivotal role of innovation and creativity in the contemporary world. He underscored the need for organisations to recalibrate themselves under new technologies, fostering an environment conducive to continuous adaptation.Dr. Poddar delved into the realms of Industry 4.0 and 5.0, elucidating the three pillars of Industry 5.0 – human-centric approaches, sustainability, and resilience.Dr. Panda urged the audience to embrace change for sustainability, citing examples from the green energy sector and highlighting India's strides in the Make In India program.Dr. Vajpayee emphasised the significance of research in educational institutions in order to drive meaningful change. He advocated a robust research culture in schools and colleges, underscoring its potential for contributing to societal transformation and economic resilience.

 

The session enabled the gathered audience to visualise some of the real life scenarios in innovation, technology, green energy and the educational sector as envisaged by the discussants,

 

Panel Discussion III

The final session of the Convention was an interesting one with an assortment of national and international scholars coming together for wide ranging discussions on a variety of topics. The participants consisted of Mr. Shivananda Salgame, Co-Founder and Director, Guru-G Learning Labs & Samsrushti Health; Ms. Amélia Brandão, Director, Centre for Economics and Finance, University of Porto, Portugal; Dr. Divya Sharma, Assistant Director, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Govt. of India; Dr. Rachna Chaudhary, Co-Founder, Media Value Works LLC USA; Founder MVW, Network International India.

Mr. Salgame initiated the interaction stressing on the significance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how they play a crucial role in shaping a resilient economy.Ms. Brandão next explored the intersection of sustainability and green marketing, discussing how AI and digitalisation, including the metaverse, can be instrumental in achieving sustainability goals.Dr. Sharma covered challenges facing sustainable fisheries, defining principles and key research areas such as stock assessment, ecosystem modeling, socio-economic research, technology for sustainability, and climate change impacts. Last but not the least, Dr. Chaudhary explored components of digital communication, leveraging it for resilient growth, customer engagement, marketing, and future trends,sharing recommendations on effectively using digital communication for transformative purposes.

From SDG goals to sustainability in various sectors and the power of digital communication, the session covered a diverse range of topics. The Q&A session that followed the panel discussion facilitated further exploration and engagement among the participants, making it a successful and informative endeavor.

 

The Sixth Research Convention at I.T.S. Mohan Nagar appeared to be the most ambitious one so far in its scope and breadth of vision. Participating dignitaries lauded the institution for choosing highly relevant issues for thought provoking deliberations. Faculty members and students returned enthused after day long engrossing sessions that enhanced their individual perspectives.

The ceremony was graced by the benign presence of Shri. Surinder Sood – Director P.R., I.T.S - The Education Group; Director, Dr. V.N Bajpai and Chairperson MBA program Dr. Uma Gulati. The beginning of the ceremony was marked by the motivating speech by Shri. Surinder Sood who addressed the students & revealed the importance of competition amongst the students and motivated them to have the spirit of continuous improvement.

Dr. V.N. Bajpai, in his address, discussed the importance of small achievements and efforts of life which cumulatively become big for future. He congratulated all awardees and their parents for the success of their wards. Dr. Uma Gulati shared a brief overview of the event with the audience. She informed the students that the awards were categorized in three categories:

·         Top 3 Merit Holders of MBA I Year.

·         Top 10 position Holders of MBA I Semester

·         Top 10 position Holders of MBA II Semester

·         Top 10 improvements in MBA II semester over MBA I semester.             .

26 students were awarded certificates of merit under the above categories. Top three positions of MBA I Year for batch (2022-24) were given cash prize worth Rs. 8,000 to Ms. Aastha Singh for 1st position; Rs. 6,000 to Ms. Arpita Singh for 2nd position & for the 3rd position we hada tie and Rs. 4,000 each were gifted to Ms. Ishika Jain and Ms. Aarushi Kumari.

Day 1: Foundations of Digital Marketing The workshop commenced with an overview of digital marketing, emphasizing its significance in the modern business landscape. Trainers highlighted the shift from traditional to digital channels, exploring the advantages and challenges associated with this transformation.

They delved into the formulation of digital marketing strategies. Faculty Development Programme on Research Design

Institute of Technology & Science organized an FDP on Research Design for the MBA faculty members. The resource person for the session was Prof. (Dr.) Debarshi Mukherjee of the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi.

The session looked into some of the fundamentals of designing a research study. Dr Mukherjee interacted with the faculty members to know about how they are approaching their respective research areas. He stated that it was important to identify how the research could address lacunae in existing literature, mentioning that it was necessary to ensure that the work was actually needed. For this purpose, it was more worthwhile to deal in theories rather than simple references of past work. He also explained that it was important to understand the context of the respondents in order to properly evaluate their responses. Last but not the least, Dr Mukherjee provided a roundup of different classes of bias that could creep into the research and the means of addressing them.

It was a very engrossing session which left the participants looking forward to more such interactions. In the end everybody came back with a clearer view of the path ahead and the methods to be adopted.

Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad organized Workshop for MBA 2023-25 Batch by Prof. Debarshi Mukherjee, Professor of Business Management at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi on the topic of “Know Thyself Using Social Intelligence”on 10 January, 2024 at Chanakya Auditorium.

In the beginning of workshop, Prof. Debarshi Mukherjee has mentioned that in the modern world we want to know ourselves and with the tools we have available, we all believe in truth we know ourselves better than anyone else does. The fog in what we don’t know about ourselves is never taken into caution for what we apply ourselves in and how we should go about doing it in a way that most benefits us.

Prof. Debarshi has used the method of story boarding to guide students to develop a better inner awareness about their own mental states, and to have a better understanding of the mental states of others. He further mentioned that the better people understand themselves, the more easily they can put themselves in other people’s shoes. Such training therefore ultimately helps you todeal with current global challenges.The world is constantly changing around us and that can still apply in a completely different world, this is proof that introspection will remain as important now as it was then.

He helped students to be self-aware by using a personality scale through the Johari model, which is commonly used by people to enhance self-awareness. He made studentsunderstand how to utilizethe Johari window to improve leadership effectiveness, personal development, and foster better relationships by practical inputs.

The session was very participative. There were various queries from the student’s side, regarding the social intelligence and self-awareness. The session was concluded by honouring Prof. Debarshi Mukherjeewith a special vote of thanks.

The resource person for the guest lecture, Mr. Vivek Nanda, corporate leader and motivational speaker, ex- National Manager, Direct Sales, Sharp Business.

Mr. Nanda had a vast corporate experience of more than 30 years in top Japanese MNCs. The session began with an interaction on Seven Mantras for Success in Today’s Corporate world one by one with innumerable corporate & business stories, real life cases & events. He shared his experiences and observations &and also utilized engaging and fascinating videos.

As the first mantra, he highlighted the importance of punctuality and appreciated the Japanese culture for their punctuality & seconds precision mindset. Second essential mantra he emphasized was personal integrity, that he believed to be the foundational value towards developing a strong character. Thirdly, he discussed some interesting examples highlighting the value of being sincere towards your work. He suggested that sincerity helped an individual in fighting & dealing with many adverse situations of the life and keep motivating a person towards achieving excellence.Similarly, he discussed other crucial qualities required to become successful in the corporate world such as developing a positive attitude, hard work, becoming a trustworthy and reliability person and inculcating the skill out- of- the- box thinking.

His insights were invaluable and overall guest lecture was amazing, full of learning & wonderful experiences.

The resource person of the day Mr. Sumit Gulati- Founder Finexcelacademy.Mr. Gulati is a seasoned data analystwith a rich experience of conducting numerous workshops in 100+ countries.

During the session, Mr. Gulati explained in detail various statistical methods used for demand forecasting. He also elaborated on the interpretations of the data obtained using different methods and described the implications of the observationsfor taking the right decisions.

The session also witnessed active participation from the students as they raised their queries related to the topic. The explanations and examples given by the speakerhelped in creating a good understanding of the discussion among the students.

A guest lecture on “AWS Cloud Computing” was organized for MCA Students (Batch 2023-25 & 2022-24) on 8th January, 2024. The resource person of guest talk was Mr. Sandip Singh, DevOps consultant, Routa Digital Pvt. Ltd, Noida. The guest lecture was conducted under TechNext club, Department of IT, I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad.

 

The theme of the lecture was Cloud Computing. At the outset, Director-IT & UG, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey addressed the audience by briefing about importance and need of cloud services in almost every dimensions of lives.  The resource person Mr. Sandip Singh started his talk with basic concepts of cloud computing in terms of its services model like SaaS, PaaS and IaaS and deployment models like public, private, community and hybrid. He discussed about how cloud services are configured and deployed in real usage of cloud in industry and various organization. Then Mr. Sandip discussed about career opportunities in the field of cloud. Further Mr. Sandip demonstrated the creation of VMs on AWS, followed creation of storage buckets in S3. Mr. Sandip also demonstrated how any application can be installed on created VMs. In the end the usage and creation of GitHub was also demonstrated with its frequently used services and its some important configurations. The guest talk was organised by Coordinators of TechNext Club, Prof. K P Singh, Prof. Chanchal Prabha and Prof. Vaibhav Bhatnagar. All the faculty members of IT department were present in the event. Students seemed happy and gratified with learning of guest talk.

The objective of this session was to motivate the students.

The session was inaugurated by Director (IT&UG) Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, Guest Speaker, Dr. Ramkaran Sharma  Associate Professor, Delhi University South Campus, New Delhi, Chairperson-MCA, Prof. Puja Dhar, Coordinator-MCA, Prof. Smita Kansal, and DBMS Club Faculty Coordinator, Prof. Saurabh Saxena, Prof. Ashwini Kumar.

While addressing the students, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that IT clubs always try to give the opportunity to the students to meet the people whose life can inspire the students and motivate the students so that they can do great work in their life.

The session was taken in Seminar Hall -1 of the institute where Dr. Ramkaran Sharma told the students how a small village boy who started his journey from a government primary school and led to some of India's most prestigious institutions, including IIT Delhi, AIIMS, NII, JNU, University of Delhi, CIMAP Lucknow, and Saurashtra Gujarat. His pursuit of excellence didn't stop at the national level. Dr. Karan was selected for an exclusive international fellowship, distinguishing himself as the sole representative from Asia (the single person from 48 countries of Asia).

 Students were happy after attending the session. Conducting such session under the IT Clubs build the confidence level and help students to do something extraordinary.

The purpose of the session was to provide valuable insights into three critical aspects of talent management: talent sourcing, employee retention, and succession planning. The session aimed to emphasize the importance of creating a pipeline of new talent and shed light on the role of technological development in shaping the future of workforce management.

The session commenced by highlighting the paradigm shift from traditional exploitation-based models to a more sustainable restoration approach in talent management. He mentioned the Exponential Change in Human Progress and Industrial Revolution 4.0. The workshop, conducted in collaboration with Vikra Educations and esteemed partners NASSCOM, DXC Technologies, and Centum Learning, aimed to empower students with essential digital skills crucial for thriving in today's technology-driven business landscape.

The Director, Dr. V N Bajpai, formally introduced and extended a warm welcome to the Resource person of the day, Mr. Abhishek Kumar- Lead Consultant Wipro. The workshop not only addressed academic perspectives but also incorporated real-world applications and industry best practices on topics like Digital marketing principles, cybersecurity procedures, data analytics methods, and necessary digital technologies were all included in the program. MBA students were able to directly use these abilities in a business situation thanks to the workshop's academic understanding and hands-on learning facilitation. Department of MCA, ITS Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad organized a first round of group discussion activity, SAMVAD-XII for the students of MCA I semester (Sec-B) (Batch: 2023-25) on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

The objective of activity was to give the students a platform for improving their soft skills and to build confidence level. For placement preparation, it is very important to improve technical as well as soft skills. One of the important soft skills is effective communication. Communication skill can be enhanced with practice and environment by conducting Samvad, The department of IT provides a platform to improve the communication skills and confidence level of the students.

The topic of group discussion was “Are social media short video platforms a boon or a curse for kids and youth?". Students were fully prepared for the GD with lot of statistical data. Each participant showed the full enthusiasm while discussing about the given topic.
