Faculty from Department of Management attended 0ne week FDP at CSJM University.

 Prof. Astha Shukla, Assistant Professor at ITS Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, participated in a one-week Faculty Development Program titled "Transforming Hospitality through Sustainable Innovation and Elevated Guest Experiences", organized by the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Catering Technology, CSJM University, Kanpur, from 01 to 08 August 2025.

 

The program focused on sustainable hospitality practices, innovative service strategies, guest experience design, and industry-academia integration. Through active participation in workshops and discussions, Astha enhanced her understanding of modern hospitality trends and pedagogy. This FDP has contributed to her professional growth by equipping her with tools to promote sustainability, innovation, and experiential learning in hospitality education.

The six-day Faculty Development Program provided a comprehensive exploration of the integration of Artificial Intelligence in academia, beginning with an introduction to AI and its transformative

impact on education through personalized learning and automation, while addressing challenges like ethics, data privacy, and the need for AI literacy among educators. Participants gained hands-on experience with AI tools for academic writing and publishing, such as Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote, Turnitin, and journal suggestion platforms, enhancing their understanding of reference management and academic integrity. Practical sessions included creating AI-generated presentations and automating routine tasks like feedback, email, and report writing. Ethical considerations were emphasized, highlighting the limitations of AI, the dangers of over-reliance, and the importance of integrity in academic work. The program also covered AI-enabled teaching and governance through LMS platforms, auto-grading, and progress tracking tools. It concluded with a focus on building future-ready academic environments through continuous learning, ethical leadership, and collaborative action plans, fostering meaningful peer engagement and equipping educators with the skills and mindset to responsibly integrate AI into teaching, research, and administration.

Department of Management organized a one-week online FDP on "Quantitative Data Analysis for Research Excellence" from June 9-13, 2025.

The Department of Management at the Institute of Technology and Science (ITS), Ghaziabad successfully conducted a one-week online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Quantitative Data Analysis for Research Excellence” from June 9 to 13, 2025. The programme was designed to strengthen the research capabilities of faculty members and research scholars, with 68 participants registering from various institutions.
 

The FDP covered a broad range of relevant topics such as academic writing, PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling), path analysis, higher order factor analysis, citation practices, identifying predatory journals, and mediation and moderation analysis. These sessions were aimed at enhancing both theoretical understanding and practical application in research.

Distinguished resource persons included Prof. (Dr.) Shailesh Rastogi , Director, SIBM, Nagpur, Prof. Rahul Singh Gautam faculty, SIBM, Nagpur, and CMA Dr. Kinnarry Thakkar, Professor and HOD of Commerce, University of Mumbai. Their expert guidance and hands-on sessions were highly appreciated by the participants.

The feedback received reflected a high level of satisfaction with the quality of content, software training, and overall delivery. Participants particularly valued the practical insights into research methodology and publication ethics. The organizing team expresses gratitude to the Director and recommends organizing similar FDPs regularly to further strengthen academic research excellence.

He advised all the participants to have a goal in life and also contribute towards the research which will be beneficial for the society.On day-2, Dr. Divakar Yadav, IGNOU, Delhi discussed about the mathematics behind the classification algorithms for machine learning. He also talked about the advantages and disadvantages of various classification algorithms.On day-3, Dr. S N Rajan, IMSEC talked about the various classification techniques in which he discussed about the lazy learners and eager learners’ algorithmsOn day-4, Dr. Mrinal Pandey, MRU, Faridabad discussed about the working of CNN model and its algorithm which was followed by the hands-on sessions in the computer lab.On day-5, Dr. Rabins Porwal, CSJMU, Kanpur discussed about Simple Linear Regression and the working of this model. A 3 Days Off-Line FDP on "Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills" organized by ICT Academy from Jan. 29 to Jan. 31, 2024 at Institute of Management Education, Ghaziabad.

 

During the FDP the Resource Person discussed topics like Problem Identification, Root Cause Analysis on Day 1. Root Cause Analysis through 5 Why's and Fish Bone Technique followed by Decision Making through Facione Model was discussed on Day 2 and on Day 3 the Victor Yetton Jago Model for Decision-Making was covered. The pedagogy used was ice-breakers, activities, case studies and presentation techniques.Overall, the FDP was quite interactive and a good learning experience. The techniques learned can be implemented in our personal as well as professional lives.We are thankful to the management of ITS- The Education Group, Director Sir and Vice Principal Ma'am for providing us with this great learning opportunity.

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized a Staff development program on "Data Analytics through Microsoft Advanced Excel” for the staff members on Friday, 23rd June, 2023. The expert for the session was Prof. Sunil Upadhyay, Asst. Professor I.T.S School of Management.

The SDP, led by Prof. Sunil Upadhyay, began with an introduction to the importance of data analytics in today's business world. He then proceeded to demonstrate various advanced Excel tools, such as Conditional Formatting, Index, VLOOKUP, and HLOOKUP, which are essential for effective data analysis. He emphasized the significance of lookup and pivot table functions in Excel for day-to-day operational activities. Throughout the workshop, he provided step-by-step guidance on how to use these tools and their practical applications.

Additionally, he explained the various features and functions of Excel that can be utilized for complex calculations, data analysis, and more. The workshop fostered a highly interactive environment, with staff actively engaged throughout the training.Overall, the workshop successfully achieved its objectives of improving staff efficiency in Excel operations and enhancing their analytical capabilities.

Incubation Centre at IIML Noida Campus visited by MBA students

Seventeen students of MBA First Year from the Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar went on an exposure visit to the Incubation Centre at the IIM Lucknow Enterprise Incubation Centre, Noida Campus on the 16th May, 2023. Dr Sanjeev Tandon and Dr Indraneel Mandal accompanied the students on the trip.

The group was welcomed Dr Pooja Pandey, HR faculty and Head of the Enterprise HER initiative at IIML. She started the session with the introductory video explaining how IIML-EIC works, including how it helps the entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas. She went on to explain the various programmes like

Start up Stage Program which includes thePre-Incubation Programme, the Incubation Programme, and the Acceleration program

Market Access Support includingtheCorporate Engagement Programme, the CVC Training Programme and the Global Networking Programme.

Academic Engagement such as setting up incubator for others and other academic associations

Investor Engagement like investopreneur initiatives, venture capital tie ups, etc. Moving forward with the session Mr. Arunodaya Bajpai, COO, IIML-EIC, gave a briefing about the holistic approach of IIML-EICin developing the business ideas. He also guided the participants through the organisational development at startups.  After the interaction it was time to visit the incubation centre. Students were made aware about the latest technology including the use of 3D printers, artificial intelligence and a supercomputer, all of which are available for use by startups at the centre.

It was a very useful session which thoroughly enthused the students. It is hoped that the interaction will lead to positive benefits  including development of individual ideas by the youngsters.
