Report on attendingDigital Outreach & Convergence Summit 2016 organized by Knowledge Resource Development & Welfare Group on 28th May 2016
Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey-Director IT, Prof. A.N. Tripathi , Prof. Gaurav Midha, Prof. K. P Singh, Mr. Bal Mukund Singh and Dr. Vidushi Singh attended “Digital Outreach & Convergence Summit 2016” organized by Knowledge Resource Development & Welfare Group on 28th May 2016.
The objective of summit was to contextualize the digital landscape, exploring the challenges and opportunities, and effective strategies for digital outreach &convergence. The summit was divided into different sessions and on this occasion various people were awarded for their significant contribution in the various fields of IT. The details of the event are as follows:
Session I:Kick Off
The session I was having lectures on the topics “Towards an Inclusive Digital Society: from digital divide to digital roadmap”, “Digital Economy: the new economy world order” along with paper presentations.
Session II:The Indian Story
In this part three lectures were delivered on the topics:” National Digital Literacy Mission-in the making of a digitally empowered knowledge economy”, B-Governance: empowering people-challenges and the opportunities”, “Business digital ecosystem-the Indian experience: from startups to big business”. Paper presentation took part at the end.
Session III:Digital Technology
In the session III, four lectures were delivered on “Internet of Things: the future connection”, Emerging, Converging and Disruptive Technologies: the drivers of digital lifestyle of tomorrow”, Manufacturing of the future: Mobile technology and the post digital experience” and “Reimaging the future: Mobile technology and the post digital experience”.
Session IV:Digital Landscape
In this part one lectures was scheduled on the topic:” From tradition to change in digital age: the changing face of Education, Entertainment, Healthcare, Commerce, Media”.
Session V:Social Media
Session V was having two lectures on the topics:” The good, the bad and the ugly of social media”, Cyber space: catching the Tiger by the tail” preceded by Quiz.
Session VI:Presentations
Paper presentations were held in session VI of the summit.
Session VII:Award Ceremony
Award were distributed in the different categories like :

On this occasion Honorable Vice Chairman Shri Sohil Chadha Sir was awarded for “Corporate Social Media Leader of the Year Award 2016” in theDigital Outreach & Convergence Summit 2016.

Dr. Vijesh Jain conducted One day workshop at J.K. Papers Ltd. Head Office, New Delhi
Dr. Vijesh Jain, Professor of International Business at I.T.S, Ghaziabad, conducted a one day workshop cum in-house training program at J.K. Papers Ltd., New Delhi at the head office of J.K. Organization, on the topic 'Letter of Credit and Incoterms 2010' on 17th May, 2016.
Around 18 middle to senior executives of various J.K. Group companies including J.K. Papers, J.K. Tyres, Umang Dairies and others attended this highly interactive full day training program. With the help of an academic discourse and practical feedback of the practicing international trade executives who attended this workshop, it was a very enriching full day discussion on the topic.
I.T.S thanks J.K. Organization and J.K. Group for providing this opportunity to conduct this training program for their selected and seasoned company executives. A number of I.T.S faculty members provided inputs and advise to make this prestigious training program successful.

Report on visit to MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly
I, Prof. Sunil Kr Pandey, was invited as Key Note Speaker to deliver an Expert Talk in “IEEE Sponsored International Symposium on “Internet of Things: Smart Innovation and Usages (IoT-SIU 2016)” organized by Faculty of Engineering & Technology, MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly during 22nd – 23rd April, 2016.
Some of the other speakers in this Symposium included Ms. Vijay Laxmi, Sr. IT Architect, Biogen, USA, Dr. Ashutosh Kumar - NIT Kurukshetra, Dr. Mayank Agrawal - GKV Haridwar, Dr. S.C. Sharma – IIT Roorkee, Prof. Manish Prateek – UPES Dehradoon. The Symposium was inaugurated by the Prof. Mushahid Husain, Honorable Vice Chancellor of MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. On this occasion Dr. R. Singh, Professor & Head, Dept of CS&E, Dr. Vinay Rishiwal and other faculty members of the Dept of CS&E, Electronics & Communication, large number of delegates, Researchers and faculty members of other institutes were also present.
In this symposium, my talk was scheduled on Day-2 from 11.00 AM to 01.00PM. In my talk, I focused on following dimensions of IoT:
- Historical Evolution of Technology that led the foundation of realization of the concept of IoT
- Different domains of Technology evolution – Database Technologies, Storage Technologies, Network Technologies, Applications
- Discussion on vision of IoT, Growth, Conceptual Framework & Applications
- Research Dimensions & Opportunities in this Area
- Challenges & Issues in IoT
- Case Study
The Session was followed by Q & A Session of about 30 minutes and it was a nice experience to interact with the participants & delegates and address their queries. It was a wonderful learning & networking experience where I meet some of the old friends and domain experts.

Management Faculty Workshop on Business Research Methods & SPSS
On 22nd of March, 2016, A half day Faculty Workshop on Business Research methods and SPSS was organised.
The resource person for the workshop was Dr Sanjeev K Jain. Dr Jain shared his vast knowledge in the field of Research and its applications in Business Management. Objective of the FDP was to discuss and understand the application of SPSS in various business research applications. Dr Jain covered the subject matter while starting with creating a database and simultaneously importing data. Using the same data, he created various scenarios and situations to cover different topics.
There were 11 Faculty participants who attended the workshop. The participants were Dr Anusha Agarwal, Dr V N Bajpai, Prof Nitin Saxena, Prof Ankur Ahuja, Dr A P Tripathi, Dr Charu , Prof Shikha Arora, Prof Neetu Purohit, Prof Kapil Mohan Garg, Prof Parul and Dr Satish Kumar
From this session all participants felt benefited and enlightened.

Workshop on “IONIC: Advanced HTML5 Hybrid Mobile App Development Framework
One day Workshop on “IONIC: Advanced HTML5 Hybrid Mobile App Development Framework” was organized by Department of IT on Saturday, 20th February 2016 during 9:30AM To 5:00 PM at I.T.S Mohan Nagar.
In this workshop, Mr Manoj Kumar, Associate Technical Architect, Ebix Noida and Mr Mayank Dixit, Sr Quality Analyst, Ebix Noida were invited as Key Resource Person.
The workshop commenced with a basic concept of Native & Hybrid Apps and how it is different with other Mobile Development Framework. The objective of this workshop was to enhance skills of MCA Students with Mobile App Development.
This workshop was focused towards making the students aware & sharpening the skills about the IONIC Application development, Eclipse IDE, Node JS, Angular JS, Cordova, Apache Ant, Android and SDK2.0. Mr Manoj Kumar discussed on IONIC development tools and also demonstrated various applications through this framework. Mr Manoj Kumar and Mr Dixit have also highlighted on the concept of Ionic using HTML5, AngularJS and Cordova with the help of various examples.

Workshop on Java
Department of IT successfully organized a Workshop on Java Technologies ( MVC, J2EE Overvie , JSP and JSTL implementation) at Institute of Technology and Science, Ghaziabad for MCA IV Semester under Java Club on 17 February, 2016.
The coordinators of Java Club Prof. KP Singh and Prof. Gaurav Midha conducted this workshop. Prof. KP Singh had a discussion about J2EE overview and MVC architecture used in J2EE in order to develop the web applications in Java Technologies. Prof. Gaurav Midha demonstrated a module in JSP and JSTL developed in first model of MVC.
Total 61 students of MCA IV Semester participated in the workshop. The students participated in the workshop with full of enthusiasm and put queries during the sessions. We as a resource person were able to create a start on the Java technologies that how to develop a project in the same. After sharing the process of project development using main java technologies JSP, Servlet, JSTL, EJBs and JDBC, a developed module was demonstrated to visualize the process of integration of code with each other as per MVC architecture.
