In this session, pioneer of data structures & Computer Scientist Prof. Sartaj K. Sahani delivered talk on “Dimensions of Data Structures & Algorithms”.

In his address, he explained the concept of Time and energy efficient computing and importance of energy conservations. Prof. Sartaj K. Sahni enlightened on the impact of energy efficient computing in information technology, evaluation of system performance along with time and energy metrics, involvement of super computers into these computing techniques, top 5 well established super computers, K Computers, Tianhe-1A, Jaguar, Ncubulae, Tsubane 2.0 , single core, multicore architechture, gaming industry, GPU, multithreaded programming, cache matrix multiplication.

He provided a detailed insight with his recent research and latest technique - Matrix Multiplication on GPUs. He also explained the method for effective programming by using example of matrix multiplication in terms of less memory consumption. He described that legacy single core codes will need to be rewritten to benefit from future advances in computer architecture and GPU performance can be increased if we do programming with millions of threads. Sahni also interacted with faculties and answered the queries raised during the session.

In this session, Mr. Vitaly delivered talk on “Wireless Communications, Industrial Automation and Internet of Things”. He has discussed on different dimension of Applications of IT, in Agriculture. This was a completely interactive & knowledge enriching session in which Mr. Vitaly addressed the queries, concerns and issues of faculty members. During this sessions were relevant issues as mentioned below, were answered & addressed,:

• Current Situation of Agriculture in India
• Enhancement in Traditional Agriculture by incorporating latest Technologies
• IoT based System Composition
• Country wise Quality of Product Survey

In addition to above many other queries of faculty members were addressed.

In this session, Prof. San Murugesan delivered talk on “Perspective of Research Issues & Publications”. He has discussed about “issues in research publications” and also focused on "How to write research papers" in journal/magazine/letters repute. This was a completely interactive & knowledge enriching session in which Prof. San addressed the queries, concerns and issues of faculty members. During this sessions were relevant issues as mentioned below, were answered & addressed,:

• Opportunities for Publications and their scope
• Differentiating the requirements of publications for Journals, Magazines, Letters, Book Chapters
• How to frame & structure a Quality Research Paper
• Why Title of Papers and Abstracts are important
• Why, in most cases, Papers are rejected even before initial review

• Significance of Impact Factor, its objective and does it really matter?
• Research work should be taken up further to validate its Practicality

Best Paper Award ws given to Dr. K.N. Mishra from BIT - MESRA, Dr. S.C. Pandey, BIT MESRA and Dr. Sanjay Singh from Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, Uttrakhand. The Conference was concluded with a grand success witnessing participation of International Guests, Delegates, large number of delegates, Research Scholars and students of UG & PG Programs.

Students of MCA Second year participated in the workshop. We selected 40 students from MCA Second year for the workshop. This workshop was focused towards making the students aware & sharpening the skills about the Python Programming Language, which has highly demand in market. The objective of this session was to make our students aware about the data science and its various applications. We also want to make them aware about the various future opportunities available in this domain. Mr. Deepak Bagchi, Head-Smart Data, IOT & Enterprise Analyst, SLK Software Service Ltd., Banglore was a keynote speaker for this session. While addressing the students, Mr. Bagchi said that by leveraging big data & analytics, businesses create the potential to better understand, manage, and strategically exploiting the complex dynamics of customer behavior. It reveals how to tap into the powerful tool of data analytics to create a strategic advantage and identify new business opportunities. He also said that Big Data is more than a decade old term that became very popular recently in life sciences and other fields. He also gave simple examples related to the real life projects where Data Science is doing wonders. He said that Big Data has been for long out there somewhere, strolling around in the hope of being noticed. Detailing the applications, along with relevant examples of every industry vertical, it also brings to light the key Industry-specific challenges being faced. With every Industry, we move a step closer into understanding the world of big data from how it is being applied to solve a lot of our problems. This info graphic tries to capture the essence of what Big Data means for different Industry sectors. Even though, Big Data specific challenges have been covered in detail here, it is to be noted that the biggest factor in Big Data implementation has been the funding issues encountered by the industries in these sectors.Most industries are still evaluating whether there is value in implementation of Big Data, while some have taken the plunge already. There are different category sets of Industry groups, those who are just testing waters to serious players who are creating products which will utilize Big Data. While addressing the students he also mentioned that if you are at a large company with huge amounts of data, or working at a company where the product itself is especially data-driven, it may be the case that you will want to be familiar with machine learning methods. This can mean things like k-nearest neighbors, random forests, ensemble methods, the entire machine learning buzzwords. It’s true that a lot of these techniques can be implemented using R or Python libraries – because of this, it’s not necessarily a deal breaker if you are not the world’s leading expert on how the algorithms work. More important is to understand the broad strokes and really understand when it is appropriate to use different techniques. Overall the session was very interactive and informative for all the attendees.

Speaking as the first Speaker of the first session on the theme “Digital India: Its impact on Socio-Economic & Framework of India” renowned academician, researcher and established scientist, Dr. M.M. Pant said that organizing an event like this is certainly an opportunity to connect the present business leaders with the future CEOs. Dr. Pant emphasized on the fact that presently wealth is created through knowledge and then wealth is re-invested to produce new knowledge and then to understand how new knowledge can be used and applied for generating wealth and the cycle continues. There is a need to create the opportunity which comes out of some existing challenge and find out the solution for the same. This cycle keeps continue to consistent efforts to identifying challenges and working on finding out the solution which will continue to change regularly and thus we cannot afford to be on ease once we develop solution for any identified problem as tomorrow somebody else may come up with better solution and challenge is to keep solution optimal, convenient & easy to use. Dr. V. Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi while addressing the gathering said that Digital India is an ambitious program initiated by the Govt. of India with an objective to digitally empower the citizens of the country by creating a competent IT enabled infrastructure for effective delivery of services and products. While addressing the gathering Shri Manoj Chugh, President (Enterprise Business), Tech Mahindra said that India is becoming a robust domestic data consumption market with digital data consumption expected to increase at twice as fast as the worldwide rate from being around 40,000 petabyte in 2010 to 2.3 million petabytes in 2020. Sunil Ranjhan, Sr. Vice President(HR), Honda said that Digital India mission is an initiative of Govt. of India which aims at Digital Empowerment of citizens and creates an environment through competent infrastructure where the benefits of IT and IT enable tools ITeS are extended to the masses. Rajiv Garg, Executive Director, BHEL said that on early public policy in an independent India focused on economic planning, adopting new technologies, and nurturing indigenous science and technology talent. About 50 years down the line, the early 1990s saw a move towards market-oriented economic policies to expand private investment in driving growth. This gave a fillip to the IT and ITeS industry. The 1990s was seminal not only for the IT and ITeS industries, but for the country as a whole. From policies that looked at regulated growth, we moved ahead, buoyed by the winds of liberalization. By the year 2019, 2.5 lakh villages will have broadband connection along with the added feature of phone connectivity. While speaking to the students, Sh. Ashok Sharma, Associate Vice President, Amar Ujala emphasized on the security of data on the cyber space. He advised students to take care while sharing the data on facebook and whatsapp. He said that today’s youth is having full support of IT and he can take various advantages of it. Ms. Karnika Seth, Managing Partner & Cyber Law Expert, Seth Associates while addressing the gathering said that in the age of social media and cloud computing, investigation of cybercrimes require data and evidence often located in another jurisdiction. There are widespread phishing attacks, global attacks on infrastructure, transnational organized crimes and cyberwars. Therefore, international cooperation in cybercrime matters is not an advantage but a necessity today. She make audience aware about various IT Law Acts which were regarding sending the obscene pictures, illegal text messages, chatting with wrong intention, videos and many more. She said that especially students while sharing data on net should be aware of its pros and cons. She also said that how involvement of technology is helping the court in solving many cases in a day. She advised students to take advantages of technology rather that to misuse it. Sh. Pramod Panda, Principal Chief General Manager, RBI also talked about the various pillars of Digital India Mission and advised students to be industry ready products where IOT will play an important role in the coming days.

While talking to the audience, Sh. Hilal Khan, Vice President & Operations Head(IT), Honda Motors said that By the year 2019, 2.5 lakh villages will have broadband connection along with the added feature of phone connectivity. It is estimated that by 2019, about 1.7 crore young Indians will have proper training in IT, Telecom and electronics. This directly leads to 1.7 crore jobs for Indian Youth in about four years from now. With these developments, India is expected to become the world leader in IT interface with e-Governance and e-services getting maximum exposure. Sh. Ajay Mishra, Director(Technology), Ericsson talked about many projects taken by their company. He also said that the 5G era is upon us. An era where every person, thing, and use case will be enabled with both seamless connectivity and massive computing power for the very first time, transforming the way we interact with our world. He also talked about the Gartner’s prediction that IoT’s powerful force for business transformation and its disruptive impact will be felt across all industries and all areas of society. This is presumably a great leap forward towards a more efficient lifestyle that will make our lives better, safer and easier. While addressing the gathering, Mr. Rajan Agarwal, Director, Ebix also that iinitiative on Internet of Things (IoT-GSI) defined the IoT as "the infrastructure of the information society." The IoT allows objects to be sensed and/or controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit. Now students have to take up the live projects on IOT and make themselves prepared for the future. Dr. Kumar Padmanabh, Lead Scientist(IOT), BOSCH being the scientist in the field of IOT, Mr. Kumar said that about in tomorrow’s world, a device will no longer be just a device, but rather one of billions of nodes, communicating via an intelligent network that surrounds us. Any “thing” connected will be a gateway to a virtually unlimited range of new capabilities and experiences, powered by rapid and ubiquitous access to the cloud. From self-driving cars, drones and robots, to wearable devices, to sensors embedded in virtually everything—by 2020 more than 50 billion connected devices will be in use, making our homes, our cities, and our lives richer and smarter. As we speed toward 2020, we must start to connect “things” now, allowing them to become greater than the sum of their parts. He also advised students that they should update their skills in IOT too. On this occasion, a Souvenir printed on the occasion of this CXO Meet was also released by the eminent guests present on this occasion.
