The Department of IT held a guest talk on " Network Basics of Smart Devices and Future Trends " for MCA-III Semester students

The objective of this guest talk  is to provide an overview of current infrastructural services of the IT industry including networks  and security services and their importance in real life application development , as well as to explain what are the upcoming  challenges and opportunities for IT services career path.

The goal was to give students basic idea and  hands-on learning experience and a strong base in IT infrastructure services and security systems. The Guest talk  covered  basics  of Smart devices networking including the key concepts of switches , hubs ,routers and gateways and their applications in real-world situations. Mohammad Anas Cyber Security expert, and  Mr. Tarun Kathpalia  ,IT manager ,Silicon Comnet Pvt. LTD  Noida India and his team   was  the key resource person for this guest talk.By the end of the guest talk , students were expected to have better understanding about Network services, Smart devices , Security systems and be ready to handle different IT related administrative tasks and projects. Students appreciated the content and demonstrative  approach with the instructor addressing their questions on the spot. This was a new and valuable experience for the MCA-III Semester students

Three of the faculty members from Department of Management, Prof. Astha Shukla, Dr. Smita Barik, and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, I.T.S Ghaziabad presented their  research papers in 5th International Conference on Advances in Management & Technology ICAMT-2025 organised by Jaypee Business School on February 19, 2025.   

 

Dr. Smita and Dr. Gurpreet gave insights into Distrust acting as a catalyst for employee permanent disconnection from organisation where Prof. Astha delivered a detailed presentation on the research findings, emphasizing the relationship between organizational climate and citizenship behavior in higher education institutions.

Dr. Arvind Arihant-JNU, Delhi served as a session chair with keynote speaker  Dr. Sheldon Carvalho and Internal Track chair Dr. Mitushi Singh engaged in a discussion on the implications of the research for institutional management.

After presentation there was Question and Answer round session for providing further insights into the research study.

Scholars and Faculty members interacted with peers from various institutions, discussing potential research collaborations and academic exchange opportunities.

She participation in the 5th ICAMT at Jaypee Business School was highly productive, contributing to the academic reputation of the institution and providing valuable insights for future research and institutional development. The faculty members' engagement in presentations, discussions, and networking has strengthened the institution’s academic and research profile.

Workshops for BBA & BCA- 3rd Year Students on "Learning through Management Games"

Management Games (or Business Games, Business Simulators) refers to the training method for managers.

This form of training is based on an artificial environment that simulates the real situation in the management of the organization, whether it’s planning, decision  making, control, communications or management itself. Business games allow monitoring of the consequences of decisions, and respond naturally to various situations.

The Management Games conducted today for the students was “Survival on the Moon”. The game was conducted with objectives to demonstrate; Leadership, Individual & Group Decision Making process, Communication process, Managing Conflict and Team Work skills.

The students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. During the debriefing session, students were explained the above behavioral concepts in the light of the game played. The session was highly interactive with a high degree of student’s engagement.

Dr. Surendra Tiwari,  Associate Professor,  Department  of Management, I.T.S Ghaziabad was invited for Guest Lecture on PROBLEM SOLUTION FIT (PRODUCT MARKET FIT)” on February 17, 2025 by Ideal Institute of Management and Technology, Delhi.

 

Dr. Tiwari touched various aspects of Problem-Solution Fit that occurs when a product effectively addresses a specific problem for a well-defined target audience. It signifies the initial validation that the solution meets customer needs before scaling.

Product-Market Fit goes further, indicating that the product not only solves the problem but also has strong demand, with users actively adopting and paying for it. This stage is marked by customer retention, referrals, and sustainable growth.Achieving Problem-Solution Fit is an essential first step toward Product-Market Fit, ensuring that the product is valuable and viable before investing heavily in scaling, marketing, or expansion.

He gave some relevant example with insights drawn from his extensive experience. The lecture concluded with a Q&A session, where he addressed students' queries with clarity and precision, leaving them with a deeper appreciation of the subject. This event not only enhanced students’ academic knowledge but also equipped them with valuable insights into product fit, crucial for their future careers in marketing area.

The Department of IT held a seven days, instructor-led boot camp on "Full Stack Development using React and Node JS" for MCA-III Semester

The objective of this boot camp  is to provide an overview of basics of react and node JS  and their importance in Fullstack application development , as well as to explain why Node and react  are the chosen language for web application development and introduce its major features and uses.Mr.  Shahnawaz Khan ,Full Stack Developer from Appwars Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Noida led the training.

The main topics covered during the boot camp included: Introduction to React-JS,  Basics of Hooks, Data Structures.By the end of the boot camp, students were expected to be skilled in React, Mongo-DB and Node-JS  and ready to handle different programming tasks and projects. Students appreciated the hands-on approach, as the training was conducted in the lab with the instructor addressing their questions on the spot.This was a new and valuable experience for the MCA-III Semester students.

at Jaipuria School of Business, Ghaziabad. The international conference brought together global scholars and industry experts to discuss business transformation and digital sustainability. Key workshops included "How to Write for Peer-Reviewed Journals" by Prof. Dr. Joseph M. Cheer and "Systematic Literature Review and Meta-Analysis" by Prof. Dr. Weng Marc Lim. Workshop: Management Faculties from I.T.S attended CAse writing workshop organized by AIMA.

Two faculty members, Prof. Parul Gupta &  Dr. Smita Barik from the Department of Management , I.T.S , Mohan Nagar  attended the case teaching & writing workshop organized by All India Management Association( AIMA ) Delhi from February 6 to February 8, 2025.

The primary aim of the workshop was to provide insights into case writing methodologies and enhance the ability of participants to develop structured and impactful case studies. The three-day workshop was designed to provide hands-on training on case writing. Multiple experts from the field shared their expertise, offering guidance on structuring and refining case studies. Dr. Anuja Pandey, Case Workshop Director, AIMA was the lead resource person of the event. She provided in-depth knowledge and strategies to effectively write and analyze case studies. Her sessions were insightful and provided a strong foundation in case writing techniques.

The workshop proved to be highly beneficial for the participants, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop well-structured case studies. The guidance from expert speakers and hands-on exercises contributed significantly to their learning experience.

The event started with a warm welcome as alumni were greeted by faculty members and classmates. The atmosphere was lively as everyone shared memories and enjoyed being back at their alma mater.The event’s main highlight was the speech by Director-It, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, who welcomed everyone and talked about the importance of staying in touch with the institution. He also shared insights about the IT industry and encouraged alumni to support current students with their knowledge and experience.As a gesture of appreciation, mementos were given to all alumni, symbolizing their continued connection with the institution. UDAY Club of the Department of IT, I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad celebrated 76th Republic Day with underprivileged children to spread joy, patriotism, and a sense of belonging among those who often don't have the privilege to celebrate such events in grandeur.

The event aimed to bring a smile to the faces of the children who are an integral part of our society.The celebration occurred at Green Belt, Shakti Khand-IV, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, where over 300 children from Indirapuram slum Area participated. The venue was decorated with national flags, balloons, and banners, creating a festive atmosphere. The program was carefully curated to include a blend of educational, cultural, and fun activities.The event was inaugurated by the Coordinator-MCA, Prof. Smita Kansal and Coordinator CSR-Club, Prof. Ashwini Kumar, Prof. Saurabh Saxena, Prof. Abhay Kr. Ray, and our MCA 1st year students.The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag followed by the singing of the national anthem. The children participated enthusiastically, their voices echoing with pride and patriotism. The children showcased their talents through various cultural performances, including dance, songs, and skits, each child received a box of sweets and snacks as a token of love and care from the organizers. Toward the end of the event some daily use items for a child (Stationary, Toothpaste and Toothbrush) to all the children were distributed.

It was an honour and privilege to host Dr. Vida Rolland, Head of the High-Speed Networks Research Laboratory (HSNLab) at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary, and Vice President of the IEEE Sensors Council, at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad.

During his visit, Dr. Rolland delivered an insightful lecture on the topic “Sensing, AI, and its Economic Aspects”, providing an enriching and knowledge-intensive session for students and faculty members alike.In his address, Dr. Rolland elaborated on the concept of Smart Cities and the Role of Technology in addressing critical urban challenges such as Transportation, Parking, and related issues. He highlighted how Sensors, Telecommunication Systems, and Cloud Technology play a significant role in modernizing city infrastructure and improving urban living conditions. The session provided valuable perspectives on leveraging AI and advanced sensing technologies for economic and societal advancements.The session was attended by selected students from the BCA and MCA programs, along with esteemed faculty members. The interactive discussion facilitated a deeper understanding of cutting-edge technological applications in smart urban planning and their economic implications. The Department of Management at the Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad, organized a workshop for MBA II-year Batch 2023-25 IT Specialization students on "Business Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning" on December 24, 2024.

The resource person for the session was Mr. Chetan Prakash, Senior Data Scientist at APPWARS Technologies Pvt. Ltd., who has extensive experience in AI, ML, and data-driven business solutions.

The workshop aimed to provide students with practical insights into the applications of AI and ML in various business domains, enhancing their technical and analytical competencies.

The session commenced with a formal welcome, and a token of appreciation was presented to Mr. Chetan Prakash by Prof. Mansi.

Mr. Chetan Prakash began by introducing the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and emphasizing their growing importance in the business world. He then highlighted key real-world applications, including predictive analytics, customer behavior modeling, and operational optimization.

A workshop on “Data Analytics for Business and Entrepreneurship” was organized for the students of MBA First Year (Batch 2024-26) on December 23, 2024.

The resource person of the day was Mr. Suraj Kumar Lohani- An Excel Trainer and Financial Analyst. Mr. Lohani is a seasoned data analystwith a rich experience of conducting numerous national and international workshops. The workshop started with warm welcome of the guest by Dr. Uma Gulati- Chairperson MBA Program.

During the session, Mr. Lohani explained in detail various statistical methods used for demand forecasting. He explained the use of various tools for data analysis, visualization and interpretation. He also elaborated on the interpretations of the data obtained using different methods and described the implications of the observationsfor taking the right decisions.

The session also witnessed active participation from the students as they raised their queries related to the topic. The explanations and examples given by the speaker helped in creating a good understanding of the discussion among the students.
