Faculty members from Department of MBA, Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Dr. Parul Gupta and Dr. Smita Barik conducted a Management Development Program (MDP) on Performance Management at Toshi Automation Solutions Limited , Kavi Nagar , Ghaziabad for its employees on December 20, 2025.
The program was designed to strengthen employees’ understanding of performance management practices and to equip them with practical tools that could be applied in their day-to-day work. Around 30 participants from various departments attended the program, which enabled cross-functional interaction and sharing of diverse perspectives.
Emphasis was placed on helping participants understand how clearly defined goals contribute to individual and organizational performance. The SMART framework was explained in detail to ensure that participants could set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals aligned with organizational objectives.
The training followed a step-wise, activity-based learning approach, where concepts were introduced progressively and reinforced through interactive exercises, group activities, and real-life workplace scenarios. This experiential methodology helped participants internalize the concepts and understand their practical relevance. Regular discussions and reflections enabled participants to relate the learning to their own roles and responsibilities.
The sessions were highly interactive, engaging, and enjoyable, creating a positive learning environment. Participants actively took part in activities, shared experiences, and provided inputs during discussions. The fun and participative nature of the program enhanced learning outcomes and encouraged greater involvement throughout the sessions.
Overall, the Management Development Program was well received by the participants and proved effective in enhancing their understanding of performance management.
Department of MBA organized finance guest lecture for MBA 2025-27 batch

The Department of Management (MBA), I.T.S Ghaziabad successfully organized a guest lecture for MBA First-Year students at the Dronacharya Auditorium on 15th December 2025.
The session was led by Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Kumar Manchanda, Professor, University School of Management Studies, GGSIPU, New Delhi who shared practical insights on interpreting financial statements, investment fundamentals, and key financial ratios.
The theme of the lecture was, “Decoding Corporate Financial Reports” and focussed on motivating the students to develop ability to understand and interpret key financial statements used by firms. It aimed to bridge the gap between classroom concepts and real-world business practices by demonstrating how financial reports support managerial and strategic decision making.
The session began with a formal welcome of the guest, followed by the introduction of the session by Dr. Puja Garg. She highlighted the importance of understanding how financial statements are analysed by various stakeholders to take key decisions Then the MBA Chairperson Dr. Uma Gulati inspired the students by her motivating words. She emphasised the importance of numbers, proactive learning, upskilling and how analytical skills can the the key to achieve success in one’s career.
Then the session began with the resource person explaining the importance of data analysis for a finance student. How to interpret key reports such as balance sheet and income statement. He emphasised the role of PE Ratio and its importance. He also reiterated the importance of understanding the company fundamentals while investing in stocks. The utility of trend analysis was also discussed.
The students remained totally engaged and the session ended with a query session where the resource person encouraged the students to develop interest in data if they wish to be successful as a financial analyst.
Workshop on “Smart Selling – Sales & Price Analytics” for MBA III Semester Marketing Specialisation students

The Department of Management (MBA) conducted an engaging workshop on “Smart Selling: Sales & Price Analytics” for MBA–III (SDM & MA) students, led by Dr. Sanjeev Tandon with pre-lunch brief insights from Dr. Ashish Kumar Jha on December 06, 2025.
The session introduced students to modern, data-driven selling by integrating sales planning, personal selling skills, CRM insights, and analytical decision-making. Using a curated dataset of eight customers: covering demographics, purchase patterns, complaints, and price sensitivity; students explored CRM strategies and personalized selling approaches. Hands-on forecasting tasks and the “UrbanStyle Fashions” case helped them analyze sales trends, pricing impact, and key performance metrics such as sales growth, conversion rate, CAC, and CLV. With an active participation of 77 students across two sessions, the workshop strengthened their ability to apply data and technology for smarter, customer-centric selling. Top performers: Disha, Sandesh Kumar, and Akanksha Kumari; were appreciated for their exceptional engagement throughout the workshop.

Interactive “Mock Hackathon” Conducted by Zenith & Binary Clubs at I.T.S Ghaziabad for MBA batch (2025-27)

Zenith – The Soft Skills Club, in collaboration with Binary – The IT Club, Department of Management at I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, successfully organized an interactive and skill-based activity titled "Mock Hackathon" on December 05, 2025 for the MBA (2025–27) Batch. Prof. Shilpi Vaish and Dr. Mansi Singh, Faculty Coordinator of the Soft Skills and Binary Club, skillfully coordinated the event.
This activity was designed to enhance students’ communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills through a combination of debate and tech-based challenges, giving them exposure to hackathon-style competitive environments.
The event was conducted in two rounds:
Round 1 featured a Debate Challenge, in which students presented their views on the topics given to them in advance. Participants were evaluated on content clarity, argumentation, rebuttal skills, and overall presentation. Based on their performance, students were shortlisted for the final round.
Round 2 was an app-based puzzle challenge, where the selected participants competed individually to solve logic-driven and analytical tech puzzles within a limited time. This round tested their reasoning ability, quick decision-making, and comfort with interactive digital platforms.

Training Sessions for MBA students on Technology Commercialisation at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad

The Department of MBA successfully hosted two power-packed training sessions on December 04, 2025, conducted by Mr. Rahul Saxena, Founder Director & Advisor at Right Side Consultants and Ex-VP (HR), Go Air–Mumbai.
Session 1- “From Lab to Market: Mastering Technology Commercialisation & Licensing” offered a complete understanding of the commercialisation pipeline and licensing strategies. Followed by Session 2- “Mastering Commercialization of Tech Innovation” where students explored how scientific innovations move from research to real-world, market-ready products. Students explored an understanding of innovation readiness, market assessment, commercialisation, and real challenges in tech-driven industries.
The sessions were highly interactive, with students engaging in meaningful discussions and industry-oriented queries. A day full of learning, industry wisdom, and inspiration for future business leaders!
Department of MBA organised “Data Analysis using MS Excel ” workshop for MBA 2025-17 batch.

The MBA Department, Institute of Technology and Science, has successfully organized a hands-on workshop titled “Data Analysis Using MS Excel” for the MBA (2025–27) students on 1st December and 2nd December 2025.
The session was aimed at equipping students with essential analytical skills and providing them with practical exposure to widely used Excel-based data analysis techniques.The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Smita Kansal and Prof. Abhay Kr Ray, who brought in their vast academic expertise and industry-oriented insights to deliver an engaging and informative learning experience.
Throughout the workshop, students were introduced to a range of Excel functionalities crucial for managerial decision-making. Key topics covered included:
Data cleaning and preparation
Use of functions and formulas for analysis
Descriptive statistics using Excel
Practical exercises for data-driven problem solving
The hands-on structure of the session allowed students to apply the learned techniques in real time, thereby strengthening their analytical thinking and enhancing their understanding of data-driven decision-making processes.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students clarified their doubts related to business analytics applications and Excel-based modelling. The enthusiastic participation from the MBA 2025–27 cohort made the session highly successful.

The resource person of the session was Dr. Rita Sengupta, a renowned expert in entrepreneurship development and motivation training. The session was coordinated by the faculty coordinator, Prof. Samiksha Budakoti.

The event was designed to bring real-world operations and supply chain concepts to life.
Round 1 featured a Competitive Benchmarking Challenge, where teams analyzed and compared operations strategies of leading competitor companies, showcasing their analytical thinking and industry awareness. Round 2 brought a burst of energy with the Operations Mystery Quiz, where participants solved engaging riddles and clue-based questions to test their conceptual clarity and problem-solving skills. Diya Sharma, Krishna Pandey and Anjani Dixit bagged the first, second and third positions respectively.

The Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an online awareness session under the KAPILA (Kalam Program for Intellectual Property Literacy and Awareness) initiative on 28th November 2025
for students of the MBA and MCA programmes. The session titled “IPR Basics for Innovators and Entrepreneurs” aimed to enhance students’ foundational understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and highlight their crucial role in innovation, research, and entrepreneurial activities.
The session was conducted by Ms. Isha Sharma, Director, Trayambak & Founding Partner, who served as the external resource person. She delivered an insightful presentation on key components of IPR, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and the strategic importance of securing intellectual property.
Ms. Sharma elaborated on the IPR filing process, common misconceptions surrounding intellectual property, and the advantages of early IP protection, particularly for start-ups and emerging innovators. She also highlighted various government initiatives, including the KAPILA scheme, that support students and young entrepreneurs in safeguarding their creative and research-based outputs.
The session further introduced students to the relevance of IPR in academic research and guided them on identifying potentially patentable ideas. Practical strategies for leveraging IP assets to enhance business competitiveness were also discussed.

Workshop on Financial Literacy and Commodity Market Awareness for MBA Students

The Department of Management, Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, successfully organized a highly insightful Workshop on “Financial Literacy and Commodity Market Awareness” on November 27, 2025 for MBA students (Batch 2025–27).
The session was held under the CSR Initiative of SEBI–MCX, in collaboration with PLAAB Foundation. The resource person was Mr. Chandresh Gupta, a SEBI–SMART Trainer, of PLAAB Foundation. He shared valuable knowledge on market mechanisms, commodity trading, risk management, and investor protection strategies.
The session was interactive, industry-focused, and aligned with NEP 2020’s experiential learning approach. The workshop received excellent feedback and students expressed a strong interest in participating in more industry-driven learning experiences. The Department of MBA successfully organized and concluded Visual Voices – The Poster Presentation Competition on November 13, 2025. The event served as a dynamic and highly anticipated platform, encouraging MBA students to translate complex management concepts into accessible, visual narratives. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and creative application, fostering a deeper understanding of subjects ranging from strategic management and human resource practices to finance and marketing innovations.
The competition was a true test of multidisciplinary skills, requiring students to demonstrate proficiency in design thinking, creativity, and, crucially, teamwork. Participants were challenged to create handmade posters, a format that pushed them beyond digital reliance to focus on core principles of design, composition, and concise communication. This requirement underscored the event's commitment to showcasing innovation and clarity through personal effort and execution. The resulting submissions were a vibrant display of ingenuity, covering contemporary themes like sustainable business models, digital transformation, ethical leadership, and market disruption. The quality of the presentations was exceptionally high, offering fresh perspectives and original interpretations across various management domains.
Judges assessed entries based on originality of the concept, visual appeal, clarity of the management message, and the overall quality of the presentation. The innovative spirit and energy displayed by all participants made the evaluation process challenging yet inspiring. The competition successfully fulfilled its goal of cultivating an engaging learning environment that goes beyond traditional classroom instruction.
