Alumni Talk on “How to choose a right Career”

Department of Management, Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad has organized an Alumni Talk on ‘How to choose a right Carrier?’on 12th June, 2021

for the MBA students in virtual mode (Zoom). The talk was started at 10:30 am with the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Vidya Sekhri, Director (Management).

The talk was addressed by Mr Yogesh Kumar Sharma, an alumnus of MBA (2011-13) batch. Presently, he is working as Business Consultant with Vestige Marketing (Pvt) Limited. He has 7 years of experience in Retail industry companies. Earlier, he was associated with Vishal mega mart, Pantaloons, Shoppers stop. His talk was on How to choose a right Career?  He discussed various fields and specializations to choose the right direction of students’ career.

He also highlighted a few points like how to select the best career prospects, how to make yourself corporate ready, career prospects in sales and marketing after MBA etc. The main objective of this Alumni talk was to enhance the best specialization out of the given categories which you can do with some interest and also to make the right choice for your career.

Towards the end of the session, Q/A round was held in which the speaker answered all the questions of the students and cleared all their doubts regarding choosing a career.

The session was attended by around 200 management students. It was truly an enlightening session for all the participants. Dr. Nitin Saxena, Faculty (Management) presented a virtual plaque as a token of attitude and remembrance to the speaker

Online Workshop organized by Programming club for MCA students.

Programming Club of Department of I.T organized an Online workshop on “Python” for the students of MCA Programme on 11th June, 2021.

The objective of this club activity was open a platform for students in understanding the fundamentals of Python and to explore the power and simplicity of python. This workshop was conducted by Prof. Smita Kansal and Prof. Abhay Ray.

The workshop has covered both theoretical as well as practical aspect of Python Programming, which will help students in preparing for the Placements.

Online Workshop on DATABASE.

Department of IT, Institute of Technology & Science organized one-day inter-institutional  online workshop on Database (SQL) on 9th June 2021

for the undergraduate students.   Prof. Puja Dhar & Prof. Saurabh Saxena were the resource person for the workshop. Workshop was attended by 160 students from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, Maharashtra etc.

In the beginning Dr Sunil Kr. Pandey, Director-IT appreciated the faculty members for such initiatives. In his address, he shared the importance of database technology for an IT student.

In the workshop participants learned:

  • Basic Concept of Database 
  • About DDL/DML/DCL Commands
  • Data Retrieval query from single & multiple tables
  • Advanced queries related to placement 

At the end a quiz was conducted & participants who secured 40% & above marks received a participation certificate.

The entire day was full of learning. Students learned and enjoyed all the sessions.

Alumni Talk on Application Development using JAVA for MCA students

Department of I.T, I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized an Online Alumni Talk on “Application Development using Java” for the students of MCA Programme on 5th June, 2021.

The objective of this talk was to have the interaction of Alumni with their alma mater and also to bridge the gap between academia and the corporate world. This session was conducted by Ms. Anukriti Dubey, Software Engineer, Mindtree Ltd. and MCA Alumna of batch 2017-2019.

While addressing the students, Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that the institute is fortunate to have a good connect with its Alumni and they are always ready to guide their alma mater for the preparation of placements. Prof. Puja Dhar, Chairperson-MCA & Prof. Smita Kansal, Coordinator-MCA also welcomed and thanked Ms. Anukriti for spearing the time from her busy schedule to conduct this session.

During her talk Ms. Dubey discussed about the introduction to android, version of Android, Basics of Android. She also talked about the Java and its career options available for the IT freshers. She advised students to work on the basic fundamentals of all the subjects they are studying during their course. She also advised students to develop communication skills which are the key requirements during the campus recruitment.

Ms. Anukriti also gave some important tips to her alma mater which will be required during the interview. This talk had updated the knowledge of students regarding new technologies & its role in the corporate world.

Overall, the online talk was full of learning for the students.

for the MBA students in virtual mode. Mr.Rohit Sharma,an alumnus of MBA (2010-12) batch, presently working as Assistant Sales Manager at Beam Suntory.

Mr.Rohit Sharma has given a talk on "Researching Prospectus before & after Sales". He also discussed on various fields and specializations to choose the right direction of students’ career.

The talk started at 10:30 am with the welcome address. The guest of Honour isaccomplished and highly-organized Sales professional with a MBA in Marketing & HR and over 9 years of professional experience working in sales domain for different sectors like Spirits, Play boards, Logistics and FMCG. Currently managing Key accounts channel for Beam Suntory for Delhi Market.

The session was focused on the below mentioned 5 points-

How to select right specialization for you?

How to get the best out of Institute?

How to select best career prospects for you?

How to make yourself corporate ready?

Researching prospects before and after sales

He also mentioned about how to take decision on specializations. His presentation was very interactive in which he told about what he has done in Past and what we can get best out of the institute. He has presented so well that we have understood the parts of specializations based on our choices we make.

He also highlighted few points like how to select best career prospects, how to make yourself corporate ready, career prospects in sales and marketing after MBA etc. He mentioned about various courses we can do to develops skills such as communication skills, excel skills etc. The main objective of this Alumni talk was to enhance the best specialization out of the given categories which you can do with some interest and also to make the right choice for your career.

Towards the end of the session, Q/A round was held in which the speaker answered all the questions of the students and cleared all their doubts regarding specialization.

The session was attended by around 250 management students of Institute of Technology &Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad .It was truly an enlightening session for all the participants. The guest speaker for the session was Dr. Vinod Shastri, Head (Academics & Research), Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Bennet University.

Dr. Vinod has rich and diverse experience spanning over 3 decades in Entrepreneurship Development across multiple organizations including MCED, NIMID, NEN and SIBM.

The speaker began the session by highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship development in the country. He also discussed the government efforts that are sincerely directed towards encouraging entrepreneurship in India. discussed the concept of 3 E’s which are essential for developing Entrepreneurial mindset among the students. Encouragement, Exposure and Environment are the components of the 3- E framework which must be aligned by the institution to promote student entrepreneurship. He emphasized the importance of building an entrepreneurial mindset in students and talked about the how institutions can work upon creating an environment that promotes entrepreneurship development right from the beginning by introducing various courses, electives and workshops on the subject. He highlighted various entrepreneurial ventures which have come to life under his guidance. He also discussed various challenges faced in starting up an enterprise and how can you overcome those challenges.

Towards the end of session, the speaker took up participants queries and answered them sincerely. The participants appreciated the session. The session was engaging and fruitful.

Online Workshop organized by DBMS club for MCA students.

DBMS Club of Department of I.T organized an Online workshop on “A Practical Approach to Design Database & Implementation of SQL” for the students of MCA Programme

on 29th May, 2021. The objective of this club activity was to encourage our students for conducting workshops for their classmates. This workshop was conducted by two students of MCA 2nd Semester, Arshad Raja and Vishal Dhiman.

The workshop was divided into two parts; First Part was about the fundamentals of DBMS, advantages of DBMS and Comparison of File Processing with DBMS. It was conducted by MCA 2nd Semester student, Arshad Raja. The second part was taken by Vishal Dhiman, MCA 2nd Semester student. He discussed about the implementation of SQL. He used the Oracle Online tool for the implementation of various command of SQL.

By conducting such workshops under the IT Clubs build the confidence level & Presentation Skills among the students and also help them in preparing for the Placements.  

Overall, the online workshop was full of learning for the students.

Workshop on Python

A one day workshop on python organized by Department of IT, Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad on 28th  May, 2021 for under graduate students.

The focus of this workshop is to open a platform for students in understanding the fundamentals of Python and to explore the power and simplicity of python. This workshop was appreciated by all the students as it helped them feel confident and comfortable with programming logic and able to add another programming language in their technical skill set.

Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey inaugurated the workshop. During this address, he motivated the students and explained how such workshops are beneficial from their Career perspective.

Prof. Abhay Kumar Ray and Prof. Smita Kansal were the key resource persons of this workshop.

Following topics were discussed during the session

National level online IT & General Quiz

National level online IT & General Quiz successfully organized Dept. of IT (Only Institute with NBA Accredited MCA Course), I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad on 20th May,  2021.

It was great to see over 650+ students from 19 States of the country including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerla, Maharastra, Uttrakhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Telangana, J & K, Haryana, UP,  participating in Online Quiz organized by Dept. of IT (Only Institute with NBA Accredited MCA Course), I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad.

Winners of the Quiz included winners are from Trichy, Jamshedpur, Aligarh, Patna, Hyderabad, Bhilwara and Ghaziabad.

Overall a wonderful event. Congratulations to Dept. of IT for this successful event.

WYSIWYG 2021

I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad, Department of Management organised its annual fest WYSIWYG on May 1st2021

in virtual mode. The event witnessed a huge registration from around 130 colleges across 15 states in India. The event consisted of 7 different competitions such as Puzzle Mystery,JAM Twister, Business Quiz, Solo Dance, Abhinay, Face Painting and Music Mania.

The program commenced with Inaugural session whereDirector- Management Prof. (Dr.) Vidya Sekhri, presented a heart-warming welcome address. She emphasised that the aim of this platform is to encourage positive and creative pursuits among students. The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Shri. Nitin Sharma - Executive Vice President - Distribution at 9X Media and Mr. Omkar Paralikar and Mr. Rohan Chinchore- Classical artists who performed Live from Pune.Mr. Nitin congratulated the participants and emphasised that we should all look for positivity in such difficult times. Mr. Omkar and Mr. Rohan mesmerised the audience with perfect jugalbandi on Sitar and tabla. Director-Managementpresented virtual plaques to the dignitaries as a token of gratitude.

Post inaugural the 7 events were initiated at separate virtual platforms where the participants exhibited their aptitudes and amazed the audience with their talent.All the participants and winners were felicitatedin the Valedictory session.The event concluded with a heartfelt tribute paid by ITS fraternity to all the frontline fighters against COVID19.

I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Department of Management organised the Virtual Entrepreneurship Summit 2021

on the focal theme “Channelizing New Age Technologies for Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Ignite, Innovate & Transform" on 17th April .

The inaugural session witnessed the benign virtual presence of Honorable Vice Chairman, I.T.S - The Education Group, Shri Arpit Chadha; Chief Guest of the event Mr. Pankaj Kankar, COO, Fareye Former CTO, Lenskart.com; Guest of Honour Mr. Divyanshu K, Vice President (Strategy), boAt Lifestyle; Distinguished Guest Mr. Saurabh Bohra, Founder & CEO, NovaSatum; and Prof.(Dr.) Vidya Sekhri, Director (Management).

Mr. Pankaj Kankar emphasized on the need to use innovation and technology in building simple, sustainable development strategies that benefit the masses at the bottom of the pyramid.

Mr. Divyanshu K discussed the various pillars based on which entrepreneurship development works. He also highlighted the importance of nurturing budding entrepreneurs and their thought processes since they act as job creators and not job seekers.

Mr. Saurabh Bohra stated the impact of technological developments on fintech companies such as Paytm, MobiKwik, etc and how these have made our lives easier amidst the crisis.

After the successful inaugural session, Panel Discussion 1 and 2 included different eminent speakers.

The theme for the session 1 was “Co-Innovation: Enterprise Start-up Collaboration”. The eminent speakers for the session were

- Mr. Raj A. Kapoor, Founder, India Blockchain Alliance and MD, India STEM Alliance;
- Mr. Jonathan Daniels, Co-Founder & Director, JP Morgan Chase, Belgium;
- Mr. Vikram Kumar, Senior Director Strategy, Verticurl Pte Ltd., Singapore; and

Library Club- The Reader’s café organized “The Intrepid Subverters”

Department of Management at I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a Library Club activity “The Intrepid Subverters” for MBA students on 16th April, 2021.

The purpose of the activity was to enhance the knowledge related to Indian freedom fighters among students with respect to the parameters of remembrance and accuracy.

There were two rounds in the activity.  The first round wasFreedom Struggle based general knowledge question round, where each participant had to answer quiz questions and the second round was picture based question answer session. All the participants performed their best to compete and win.

Winners of the event were:

IstPosition: ShrangSingh and PriyanshiShrivastav

IInd Position: PiyushPratapSingh

IIIrd Position: ShradhaDwivedi.

Activity was concluded with a vote of thanks by Faculty Coordinator Prof. Ritika Rathore. The winners were felicitated with certificates.

The activity was a great success where students enjoyed a lot along with fun and learning.

Skill development cell of Department of IT, Institute of Technology & Science organized one day workshop on Soft Skills & Personality Development for MCA II & IV semester students

on 8th April 2021. Invited resource person of the workshop were  Ms Ayushi Aran HR- Sopra Steria and Mr. Apoorve Srivastava, Business Manager-ONLEI Technologies, Noida. Workshop is divided into three sessions.

First session was focused on soft skills required by the candidate at the time of Interview. Students were aware about what are important points when you introduce yourself.

Second session was planned to groom the personality, multiple activities & games were conducted by the resource person so that students become more interactive & presentable.

Third session was on resume writing. Resource persons guided the students how to create effective resume & shared the importance of good resume at the time of sort listing.

The entire day was full of learning. Students learned and enjoyed all the session.
