Finance club online activity for MBA

Finvest Club of Department of Management at ITS – Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized an online activity “FINTALK”—The Finance orators leading the way! for MBA (2020-22) batch on 29th January, 2021.

The activity was in Two Rounds:- The first round of the activity was by floating Google form to the participants through link in which Reasoning and Aptitude questions were there containing 30 questions, which has to be done in 15 minutes

The second round of the activity was An Extempore round which checked the ability of the students that how much they are confident and able to communicate on virtual forum with their best of knowledge. The participants spoke on their respective topics allotted to them by the club on the spot and they were having 2minutes to speak.

Judging was based on 3 criteria: Content, Communication skills, Confidence level.

The activity started sharp at 4.00PM with the introduction video. We had our seniors as the judge of the competition. Out of 8 participants, top 3 performers of the activity were awarded with Appreciation Certificate and rest others were given the Participation Certificate.

The Activity was conducted by Finvest Club members of 2020- 22 batch under the guidance & supervision of Finvest club coordinator Dr. Anurag Bahadur Singh & the senior member of batch 2019-21.

Mr Piyush pratap singh secured first position, second position Ms. Anjali Sharma and at third by Sparsh singhal.

Batch by  Mr. Syed Rahim, Senior Director – CSC- Manthan, Middle East & Africa on the topic  “Digitalization- Revolutionizing Marketing Strategy" on 25th  January, 2021

Mr. Syed Rahim explained that Digital marketing strategies and platforms are evolving at an astounding rate requiring all marketers and companies to be creative and innovative to keep up with the trends. He further added that now companies need to concentrate on Identifying the ‘inflection points’ indicating a shift in the customer’s needs.

Ms. Syed said that AI technologies are the future of work, because they enable companies to collect, analyze and apply data in the right place at the right time. There is enormous potential for increasing sales by enabling businesses to make informed data-driven decisions and improve personalization.

Mr. Rahim emphasised that companies does not need to complete overhaul of their digital marketing initiatives. Instead, businesses can adopt a strategic evolution of their digital marketing strategies and how they engage with customers.

The session was very participative. There were various queries from the student’s side, regarding the digitalization. The Session was concluded by honouring her with a virtual plaque and a special vote of thanks.

Celebration of 124th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose

Department of IT, I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad Celebrated online 124thBirth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Students of MCA were enthusiastic to participate in this celebration.

While addressing the students Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that NetajiSubhas Chandra Boseis known for his role in India's independence movement. A participant of the non-cooperation movement and a leader of the Indian National Congress. He was brave and a great freedom fighter, a great diplomat with full of patriotism. He was a brilliant student and intellectual and cleared the Civil Service exam in his first attempt. He was a true freedom fighter. He also appreciated the participation of students in various activities like speech and poem recitation.

Prof. Puja Dhar, Chairperson- MCA said while addressing said that students should follow the foot-steps of the freedom fighters like Neta Ji Subash Chandra Bose. He was a bright student as well as a good leader. She also appreciated the efforts of students of MCA who on a short notice prepared for this occasion.

Prof. Smita Kansal, Coordinator-MCA also wished students best luck and said that they too should build patriotism within them and should work for the betterment of country.

Faculty members of Department of I.T. also participated on this occasion by reciting poem and some presented their views on the biography of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.

Students participated with full patriotism and were well prepared for this occasion. Their participation made this celebration more patriotic.

successfully completed  AICTE sponsored Six Day Short Term Training Programme (STTP) under AQIS  Quality Teaching and Research  fromJANUARY 18-23, 2021 organized by IMI Bhubaneswar.

The STTP  was focused towards conceptual overview and hands on experience on many facets like Teaching pedagogies , Creating effective presentation for class ,Case method of teaching ,Research problem and research ,Introduction to multivariate data analysis , Creating a manuscript publishable in an international journal .The  6 days course was packed with session delivered by the eminent speakers from IMI Bhubaneswar and other reputed institutions

Theoverall objective of STTP was to familiarize participants with updated pedagogical tools and techniques and to develop among participants the competency to assess a business predicament under uncertainty and choose the appropriate research technique to generate relevant insight. The program also highlighted how to publish in high category journals. Participants also got an insight of multivariate statistical methods for quality research.

The training program was enriched with learning and knowledge.

MERCATO-The Marketing Club organized “The Pitch Game” an online activity for MBA Batch (2020-22).

Institute of Technology & Sciences, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad and MERCATO-The Marketing Club organized “The Pitch Game” an online activity on 22nd January2021 for MBA Batch (2020-22).

The objective behind the event was to create the brands and general awareness of products used in COVID 19 among the students by making videos about these products of their new brand.

The activity was conducted in Two rounds. In the first round, students were asked to make a short video of 60 seconds upon the marketing of the products of their own brand used in the period of COVID 19 pandemic. A link was provided to everyone on the Gmail account where they have to upload that video. Out of these videos 10 innovative videos was shortlisted for the second round of the activity. Second round will be question & answer round where few questions were asked from these video presenters.

A filler round was also kept for the audience as well, the audience has to identify the brand logos and CEO for the images displayed on their screen.

The Top Three winners were as follows: -

Online alumni talk for MBA (2019-21) Batch

Institute of Technology and Science, Ghaziabad  has organized  Online Webinar Alumni Talk for MBA (2019-21) Batch on 19th January 2021.  Alumni resource person, Mr Anand Rai of MBA(2004-06 Batch) is working as a Regional Head in Sales- working capital Finance at ICICI Bank.

Mr Anand Rai started the webinar with his experiences. He suggested the students to understand the market in a very practical method and also told that books have only theoretical knowledge, but the students need to update themselves in current general awareness. He also asked to spend more time in libraries or with books and the students should also need to focus on research sections as they really enhance our knowledge and analytical thinking.

In the current scenario of COVID 19 which is pandemic, it is not at all difficult to grab a job but it only depends on our skills and talent. If we have it then we'll definitely get a job.

As the organization want proactive employees so the candidate need to keep themselves updated  so that they can make themselves available for the organization with right and needed qualifications.

He also shared his the experience that we need to focus on our buyer because not all the time our consumer and a customer is the same person, so we need to focus on the buyers and partially on decision influencer also.

The webinar was really interactive and knowledge for the students. Director Management Dr Vidya Sekhri has also joined the session and addressed the audience with her words of wisdom. She presented the virtual plaque as a token of gratitude and remembrance. Students enjoyed the session.

Department of I.T., I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized VIBGYOR-2021, an inter-institutional Technical Fest in association with CSI Student Branch, Ghaziabad during 19th& 20th January, 2021. The inaugural ceremony was scheduled on 19th January, 2021. While addressing in the inaugural ceremony, Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that I.T.S, Ghaziabad always believes in providing the platform where students can showcase their talent in various activities. He also congratulated the team VIBGYOR-2021 for their efforts & huge participation in the each activity. Initially Prof. Puja Dhar,  Coordinator-VIBGYOR-2021 welcomed all the participants and Prof. Saurabh Saxena, Coordinator-VIBGYOR-2021  briefed about the different activities of both days. Prof. Smita Kansal, Coordinator-VIBGYOR-2021 briefed about the rules and regulations of each activity. At the end of inaugural ceremony Prof. Varun Arora, Coordinator-VIBGYOR-2021 delivered the vote of thanks.

There were more than 4000 Registration of students all across the country covering almost all the states of the Country including Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nada, M.P., Bihar, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Gujpat, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, West Bengal, J&K and Assam in all Technical Activities including C Programming, IT Quiz, Poster Presentation, Java Quiz, Project Idea Presentation, C Quiz, Extempore and General Quiz having over 600 Registration in each of the Activities.

HR CLUB – METANOIA organized an online Activity – “BIZVISIORY MASTERS” for MBA students

HR CLUB – METANOIA of Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad organized an online activity – “BIZVISIORY MASTERS” for the MBA Batch 2020-22

on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. The activity was online so that students could participate from their homes during pandemic situation due to Covid 19.

This event focused on analyzing the IQ scores and knowledge of the students through an online quiz using the google forms. There were 30 questions related to the Taglines, CEOs and Logos of the various Indian companies which seems to be foreign and the total allotted time was about 15 minutes.There was active participation as we recorded 79 responses for the event. The questions were tricky but simple to test the knowledge of the students.

There were top three winners of the event. The active participants were more enthusiastic to anlyse themselves, and were influential for the success of this event. This activity also helped the students in building their resumes and knowledge.

The topic of his talk was Challenges and Opportunities to Study in Abroad. In this session, Ms. Sujeda talked about the best European universities include UK, Swiss, Swedish and German institutions.

Ms. Sujeda told that increasingly competition at global, the education sector  is undergoing a moment of far-reaching transformation that urges onto an accurate reflection around educational offer in the fields of architecture, design and engineering.She has also focused on global opportunities in work Europe, industry partners and students’ life style in different university too.

 

Overall, it was a unique and very knowledge enriching session which was followed by a Q & A session which lasted for about one and a half hour in which queries of students were addressed.

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized a webinar on “Emerging Organizational Structures in the Post Covid-19 World” by Dr. Feza Tabassum Azmi for PGDM (2020-22) batch on 9th  January, 2021.

Dr. Feza Tabassum Azmi is a renowned Professor at Faculty of Management Studies & Research, Aligarh Muslim University. She is the author of the book on Strategic Human Resource Management published by Cambridge University Press, University of Cambridge (UK).

The guest was welcomed by Director Management, Dr. (Prof) Vidya Sekhri, who enlightened the students with her words of wisdom. In the beginning of the session, Dr. Feza highlighted the tremendous change taking place in the organization and the emerging need for flexible organizational structures. She elaborated the rise of the gig economy and how the focus on flexible project-based work is gaining popularity. Businesses today are looking for agility and responsiveness and for that they have to quickly respond to the challenges posed by the dynamic and turbulent environment. She explained the contemporary organization designs like Hyperarchy which paves way for a fluid, team based, cross functional collaborative work arrangement. She also highlighted the fact that there will be no innovation or free thinking if there will be too much of hierarchy. She also talked about the concept of Velcro organization which is based on easy fastening and unfastening of Velcro hooks by quoting examples of FORD & General Motors. She further discussed about the virtual organization/communities as- HUB & SPOKE design.

It was a very insightful session and students participated enthusiastically as they raised a number of queries which were addressed by Dr. Feza. At the end, a virtual plaque was presented to Dr. Feza as a token of gratitude and remembrance.

International Talk on “Ambient Intelligence for Smart Living” for MCA

Prof. Vincenzo Piuri, Professor of Computer Science, University of Milan, Italy and Visiting Professor of University of Texas, Austin & George Mason University, USA,

Fellow of IEEE, ACM Distinguished Scientist addressed and interacted with our students of Computer Applications at I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad.

The topic of his Talk was “Ambient Intelligence for Smart Living”. During his talk, Prof. Piuri spoke about Adaptivity by using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Biometrics in a Worldwide Cloud-based Environment. He also addressed the issues related to Ambient Intelligence including technology for ambient environment, Infrastructure Technology convergence for integrated pervasive support to ambient intelligence. He also talked about various Technologies including AI & ML, Pattern Recognition, Signal Processing, and Data Analytics. Characterizing individuals, AI for Data Fusion. Overall it was a unique, research-based, and very knowledge enriching session which was followed by a Q & A session which lasted for about one and a half hour in which queries of students were addressed.

I.T.S School of Management, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organised a virtual summit on the focal theme “Emerging Technologies:Shaping the uture of Business with Blockchain and Fintech” for management students on Friday,8th January 2021.

The virtual summit was graced by the presence of three guests of honour:

·            Mr. Amanjot Malhotra, Director of Product Management at LCX, Gurgaon

·            Mr. Atul Tripathi, Data Scientist Ex-National Security Council Secretariat (Prime Minister’s Office) Advisor IISER, Mohali, Delhi, India

·            Dr. Sindhu Bhaskar, Chairman and CEO of EST Group EST Global Inc(Cambridge Innovation Center, MIT, USA) (Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States).

The session commenced with the welcome address by Prof.(Dr.) Vidya Sekhri, Director (Management).

The first speaker Mr.Amanjot Malhotra started the session by giving a brief presentation on Introduction of Blockchain and Its Use Cases.He explained how  blockchain has evolved over the years and why blockchain technology is the future.He mentioned that blockchain was introduced after the financial crisis of 2008 and since then,it is experiencing exponential growth.

He then explained the working of blockchain in a simplified way and highlighted that it is basically a network in which a millions of nodes are present to validate the transaction and depends on a decentralised entity making it a safe,transparent and tamper proof  technology.He described some of the services provided by the blockchain like money services,payroll and insurance, and many more, and also explained how the blockchain concept can be implemented for a liquid democracy, what advantages blockchain technology can bring to supply chains,how problems of document manipulation can be fixed with blockchain technology and how the blockchain is related with IoT(The Internet of Things).

The next speaker, Mr. Atul Tripathi (Data Scientist Ex-National Security Council Secretariat (Prime Minister’s Office) Advisor IISER, Mohali) carried forward the blockchain discussion towards the Career Path and Opportunities in Block Chain and Data Analytics for management students.He emphasised the importance of  maths, statistics, programming and communication skills for a data scientist. He motivated the students to get certifications for technical and non-technical courses in Blockchain. Before ending he effectively answered the queries of the students regarding the opportunities in the field of data analytics and Blockchain.

Dr. Sindhu Bhaskar (Chairman and CEO of EST Group , EST Global Inc.( Cambridge Innovation Center , MIT , USA) (Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States)enlightened the students on “Contemporary Issues and Challenges in Fintech Application in India” and also talked about emerging Fintech (Finance + Technology) & different faces of Indian Fintech where he spoke about payment and settlements, lending, supply chain & higher technology. He also talked about trends in Indian fintech where he explained Box Banking, P2P Lending, Financial Inclusion, AI and IOT based Security.

Towards the end of each session, Q/A round was held in which the guest speakers answered all the questions of the students and cleared all their doubts regarding blockchain technologies.

The summit was attended by around 400 management students of I.T.S School of Management,Ghaziabad. It was truly an enlightening session for all the participants.At the end of each session,Dr.Vidya Sekhri, Director (Management) ITS presented a virtual plaque as a token of gratitude and remembrance to the guest speakers and thanked them for sharing such valuable insights on the blockchain technology and fintech.

Professor Lance Chun Che Fung, Emeritus Professor, Murdoch University, Australia & Director-Elect, Asia & Pacific - Region 10 (2021-2022) 

addressed the gathering in Online Session on “Writing Research Papers for a Productive Career” on 4.2.2021. Prof Fung told that research process allows individual to gain expertise on a topic of respective choice, and the writing process helps the researcher to remember what individual have learned and understand it on a deeper level. Publication is very important in the academic career as research provides information and knowledge. Research and publications are crucial and essential to grow and prospect in an academic career. Prof Fung suggested how we should take care of citations and indexing to keep it with the trend. He told about publication plan, frequency of publication; worthiness of publishing material, selection of publishing editor; Important measurables after the publication of the paper. The session was very interactive, informative, and knowledge enriching for the faculty and students. Participants have asked the queries during the session with speakers. It was an overall good experience for participated Faculty & Students.

Virtual Special Session of IIC on" Orientation to National Innovation and Startup Policy"

The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of the I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organised a virtual special session on "Orientation to National Innovation and Startup Policy " for PGDM and MBA students (2020-2022) on 31st December, 2020.

 

The invited Speaker for the occasion was Dr. V. K. Arora , CEO of Indira Gandhi Technical University for women IGDTUW - Anveshan Foundation. He is also a trainer in entrepreneurship, strategic management and the functional areas of management.

In her welcome address, Dr. Vidya Sekhri, Director – Management, and President, IIC ITS, advised the students to stay dedicated and try to make most of the crisis instead of making excuses. She also emphasised that students must be courageous enough to take risks because every failure brings you one step closer to success.

Dr .V.K. Arora greeted the students by describing how a policy towards innovation helps in building a strong path for entrepreneurship and also justifies the role of the government and its support services. Dr Arora spoke about the various aspects of entrepreneurship like unemployment, GDP, VUCA environment etc. He discussed about the improved ranking of India since 2014 with regard to the ease of doing business and also threw some light on the vision of our Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, including the push towards an Atma-Nirbhar Bharat.

He emphasised upon the Triple Helix Model and the role of the incubation centres at different levels in the corporate world. He also advised students to think innovatively and encouraged them to visit the various government portals like those for Startup India etc. He also highlighted that "When there is problem, there is an opportunity"; in other words students need to work on the problem part and try to come up with different innovative ideas.

The session was very interactive and encouraging; students participated with zeal and raised a variety of queries at the end. The session concluded with the presentation of a virtual plaque by the Director (Management) as a token of gratitude to Dr. Arora. Dr Rajeev Johari, Convener, IIC ITS, praised Dr Arora for his insightful ideas and expressed the hope for similar interactions in future.
