Guest Lecture organized for MBA 2021-23 Batch.

On 9th May 2022, a guest talk was organized for the students of MBA First Year (Batch 2021-23). The topic of the session was ‘IPR Awareness’.

The Guest of the day Ms Nitya Tyagi, NIPAM Officer & Examiner of Patents and Designs IPO Delhi, had an interactive and informative session with the students wherein she touched upon the key aspects which organizations should focus upon while filing for Intellectual Property Rights.

Ms. Tyagi used multiple examples and analogies to demonstrated ways in which an entrepreneur and a business can take advantage of IPRs to face the growing dynamism and competition across the globe. The numerous examples given by Ms. Tyagi as well as her answers to the questions raised by the students, helped in creating a good understanding of the discussion among the students.

The activity was organized in the Auditorium from 11:15 AM onwards. The students  participated actively  in the session and expressed their eagerness to have such sessions in future as well.

Workshop of Internet of Things and Sensor Programming by MCA Dept

One-dayonline workshop on “Internet of Things” for the MCA students was organized byProgramming Club, Department of IT, Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabadon 07-05-2022.Ms. Akanksha Rajput, Embedded &IoT Developer, Appwars Technologies Pvt. Ltd.  was the key resource person of this workshop.

Objective of the workshop:     

This workshop must help the students to understand and take better use of theIoT Basics,Arduino Uno, Simulators based on sensors and microcontrollers, components of Arduino Uno, Application of different sensors,Integration of sensors to the Arduino chip, Program writing, development and implementation of application using Arduino Chip.

After this workshop students can develop applicationsbased on online simulator using Arduino Uno and sensors.

Following Topics were discussed during the session:

Fundamentals of Internet of Things,

Introduction of different IoT supporting hardware including Microcontrollers chips and Micro Processor chip, Different kinds of sensors like light sensors, Ultrasonic Sensors etc.

Introduction to Arduino UNO chip, Programming in C/C++,Tinkercad simulator for sensor programming.

Programming in C++ for LED, Ultrasonic Sensor, Push Buttons,Light sensors, Temperature and humidity sensors etc.

Demonstration and Hands on based on Arduino IDE and application of Arduino chip and sensors based sketch

Total 40 participants were participated in this workshop. Participants showed their interest to learn this technology.

Online guest lecture on the topic “Identity Politics and its Impact on Global Business” for students of MBA

Department of Management, I.T.S Ghaziabad organized an online guest lecture on the topic “Identity Politics and its Impact on Global Business” for students of MBA (2020-22) on May 06, 2022.

 

The main purpose of the event was to create awareness regarding how Identity Politics has a global business impact and how it relates to Indian growth in current world order.

The guest speaker for the lecture was Prof. (Dr.) Ram Singh, HOD (Trade Operations & Logistics), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. Professor Singh talked about many things like the concept of Han-ification, overview of Nordic countries, practices of green politics and promoting organic culture and its impact on global business. Through the Han-ification concept, he talked about how China was able to rise as the biggest exporter in the world. He further elaborated the concept by concerning various parameters like race, religion and language with examples of countries like turkey, Bangladesh. He also talked about how green politics has a direct impact on European elections as the probability of winning is more for those parties who support green initiatives. He concluded the session with focus on six pillars of environmental concerns namely ecological wisdom, social justice, participatory democracy, non-violence, sustainability and respect for diversity.

All the aspects that were discussed makes it clear that Identity Politics is very useful for an organization. It not only helps the business run smoothly but allows your team to focus on the work that matters, free from the distractions caused by tasks going off track or budget spinning out of control. It empowers them to deliver results that are actually the business bottom line. And it enables the employees to see how their work contributes to the company’s strategic goals so as to be aligned with nations Identity Politics. It was a very well-planned and insightful lecture.

Mother Dairy Visit

Department of I.T. organized one day Industry visit for the students of MCA to the Mother Dairy, New Delhi on 29th – 30th April,  2022.

The students were taken to the zone where actual processing is done. Students were shown some of the tests which Mother Dairy performs before delivering the milk to its customers. There are total 25 tests which are performed on the milk so that it is safely delivered to the people. Some of Faculty of Department of I.T. including Prof. Puja Dhar, Prof.Smita Kansal, Prof. Saurabh Saxena, Prof. Varun Arora and Prof. K.P.Singh, also accompanied the students.

At the end of the visit students were served with Glass of Fresh Milk and Ice Creams. Students enjoyed the whole visit and were also aware about the process of Mother Dairy

Alumni Talk on “Fintech: Other Side of Finance” for MBA (2021-23) Batch

I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad , Department of Management organised an Alumni Talk by Mr. Mohit Tyagi, Royal Bank of Scotland and Alumnus of MBA 2011-13 Batch on 28th April, 2022 for MBA (2021-23) Batch

 

The session was started with the welcome address of Dr. Nitin Saxena In his address, he talked about the importance of alumni for an institute. He talked about strengthening the alumni connection and how experiences of Alumni can be encashed to sharpen the skills required for placements.

Mr. Mohit Tyagi started his talk with the detailing of his profiles. He discussed his current job responsibilities and key areas of his job. He shared that before Royal Bank of Scotland, he was with Bank of America where he learned about many things related to investment banking.

During his talk he talked about the back end process of shares settlement. He explained the process of settlement and reconciliation of statements with brokers and SEBI. He also discussed various parameters on which students should work upon for getting a good job in future. He discussed his success mantras which one should develop like soft skill, as they were the first most priority in every sector for each opportunity in corporate world, also he asked students to focus on Communication skill and

He motivated the students to go for good certification courses in finance and shared some of the certification courses available with the National Stock Exchange.

The session ended with the presentation of a virtual plaque as a token of gratitude and remembrance to the speaker.

International Conference 2022

Institute of Technology and Science and I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organised the International Conference on the focal theme of “3Ds (Data Analytics, Digitalization & Disruption) in Business and Society” (IC3DBS-2022) on April 21-22, 2022.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by dignitaries including

·         Shri Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S.  The Education Group; 

·         Honorable Chief Guest, Shri Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha, New Delhi;

·         Guests of Honour, Prof. S. K. Kak, Former Vice Chancellor, Mahamaya Technical University (Now AKTU) Lucknow and CCS University, Meerut

·         Guests of Honour, Dr. Manoranjan Sharma, Chief Economist, Informatics Rating, New Delhi.

The ceremonial lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana was followed by the welcome address by Dr. V. N. Bajpai, Director. He formally welcomed all the dignitaries and participants from various institutes and elaborated on the focal theme of the conference.

Shri Arpit Chadha described the importance of the topic in the current scenario. He encouraged the students to listen actively to the assembled guests.

Dr. Manoj K. Jha, Conference Convenor, briefed about the objectives and shared the overview of the two day conference.

During the ceremony, the commemorative journal of the conference was released by the Chief Guest and  Dignitaries.

Shri Harivansh Narayan Singh spoke about living in an age of rapid technological evolution with AI, ML, Cloud Computing and Data Analytics affecting almost every field.

Prof S. K. Kak, provided food for thought on the conference theme, advising participants to evaluate whether disruption is due to Data Analytics and Digitalization, and whether these two are the solutions for the disruption.

Dr. Manoranjan Sharma commended India’s financial and banking sector for embracing digitalization and technology. He also quoted Indians as being resilient for fighting back through difficult times and motivated participants towards a brighter future.

The session concluded with mementos being presented to all the distinguished guests as a token of appreciation.

PARICHARCHA- 2022 (The Student Led Panel Discussion) : Communication Lab – The Speakers Forum

I.T.S School of Management has introduced Communication Lab as a new module for the PGDM participants to enhance their oral communication skills.

The purpose of the lab is to impart communication skills in a more practical way to the participants. In the same series of activities of Communication Lab (The Speakers Forum), organized “PARICHARCHA- 2022” The Student Led Panel Discussion for PGDM batch 2021-23 on 19th April, 2022.

The aim of the discussion is to spark conversation between a group of experts from business, politics and thought leaders. The objective of the activity was to make participants enhance their conversational skills and to make them socially aware about the current affairs of the world. In total 10 groups participated and presented their views in form of panel discussion on different topics like Union Budget-2022, Future of E- Vehicles, Privatisation in PSU, Impact of Ukraine and Russian war on Indian economy, Crypto currency, Evolution of Digital India, Sri Lanka Crisis, Green Marketing, New Education Policy, Bio war and Bio weapon..

Each group has to appoint a moderator, news reporter along with a team of panelist from different sections of the society. All the students represented well with a tinge of humor and entertainment. The discussions were further sparked with the firing questions from the audience and the news reporters being appointed by the group. The other interesting element of the activity was that it gave opportunity to the students to experience the hybrid corporate culture, by providing the option of online participation to two participants only in group. This practice gave students a platform to understand the hybrid style of working and be more competent with virtual communication and net etiquettes.

It was indeed an interactive session. Everyone enjoyed it and appreciated the activities of Communication Lab as it helped the students to gain confidence and improvise their oratory skills.

All the winners were rewarded with Trophies, Individual medals and Certificate of Appreciation by Director- Dr. V.N Bajpai, PGP Chairperson- Dr. Anusha Agarwal, Prof. Yachna Malhotra and esteemed judges- Prof. Mayank Sharma and Prof. Shilpi Rana.

Hostel Eve Celebration

Students of Durga Hall and Eklavya Hall of I.T.S Ghaziabad celebrated the Hostel Eve on 18th April, 2022. A well decorated stage was prepared by students to host the event.

The event inaugurated at 6.00 PM with lightening the lamp by Prof Anusha Agarwal, Prof Satish Kumar, Prof Ritika Rathore, and Prof Vikas Kumar. Dr. Anusha Agarwal interacted with students and encourages them to take part in the event.

No event should be started without seeking blessings of Maa Saraswati, The Goddess of Wisdom. Maa Sarawati Vandana was performed by Ms. Rupali. An outstanding dance performance by Ms. Beshnabi Behara followed by a singing performance by Mr. Harsh took the event to the next level thereafter a beautiful song was sung by Mrs. Kesh Bala for the final year students. Some fun activities like question and answer rounds, Dumb Charades were also played by the students in between. Mr. Zafar, Mr. Shubham Agarwal and Ms. Komal Keshari sung some beautiful songs for audience. Mr. Anuj Kumar Srivastava did a standup comedy and entertained the audience. Students participated in the event with zeal and enthusiasm. The event was hosted by Ms. Luxmi and Ms. Vanshika brilliantly.

The event concluded with the announcement of winners of different activities. Prizes were distributed to the winners of both boys and girls in the categories of best dancer and best singer. Mr. Hosteller and Ms. Hosteller award was given to Ms. Ragini Kumari and Mr. Anuj Kumar Srivastava. A DJ system was also arranged for students in the lawn where boys and girls groove to their favorite songs played by DJ.

A special dinner was also served to the students in the lawn in front of ‘Dronacharya Auditorium’ on this occasion. This was an amazing and enjoyable event. These types of activities keep the students active and strengthen the bond among them.

Jashn- E – Alvida: Farewell function of PGDM (2020-22) Batch and “I.T.S Excellence Awards: 2021-2022"

I.T.S. School of Management, Ghaziabad hosted I.T.S Excellence Awards 2021-22 & Jashn-E Alvida farewell party for outgoing PGDM (2020-22) Batch on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

The program commenced with ceremonial lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana.

Director, Dr. V N Bajpai congratulated all excellence awardees on their achievements and blessed all the outgoing students. He advised them to always see themselves as good ambassadors of the Institute and to keep on strengthening the relationship with their Alma mater.

I.T.S Excellence awards were awarded under category of Academic Excellence, Best Leadership, Star Performer, Best Club & Club Member of the batch.  The event witnessed enthusiastic performances from 2021-23 batch. Solo & Group dances, fashion show, surprise games were spectacular and simply mesmerized the audience. Mr. Pranjal Mehrotra and Ms. Tanya Dubey were crowned as Mr. & Ms. Farewell, while Mr. Kushagra Dwivedi & Ms. Koushiki Basu bagged the title of Mr. & Ms. Popular respectively.

Juniors held the audience with their heart throbbing performances. A number of fun filled games were conducted in which the audience participated with full zeal and excitement. Students had mixed emotions as they were leaving Institute and their friends but on the other hand were also excited about as to what future holds for them. Dr. Anusha Agarwal, Chairperson PGDM congratulated them and expressed her desire to see them distinguish themselves across various careers and fields.

At the end, students were all geared to rock the dance floor. With dancing shoes put on, all the students enjoyed the DJ night, specially organized for the seniors by the juniors.

The farewell was a grand success with glitz, glamour and emotions all around.

Aaj Tak visit by MBA students

Department of Management at I.T.S Mohan Nagar organised a visit to Aaj Tak, leading news channel for its MBA students (2020-22 and 2021-23 Batch) on 8th April 2022.

The show was hosted by leading news anchor Ms. Anjana Om Kashyap. The students participated in two debates which involved leading politicians from various political parties and social workers.

The first debate was on “Implementation of Meat ban and Azaan on loudspeaker”. This issue was discussed by Mr. Sambit Patra, National Spokesperson Bhartiya Janta Party, Mr. Sangeet Raagi Political Analyst, Acharya Pramod, Indian National Congress and Maulana Ansar Raza, Chairman Gareebnawaz Foundation. The heated discussion involved some issues of Muslim women education,Hijab controversy and the Muslim appeasement.

The second debate was on the issue of “Issue of increasing prices of Oil and essential goods. The discussion has view points from Sayyed Zafar Islam, National Spokesperson BJP, Mr. Gaurav Vallabh, Congress, Mr. Dinesh Varshney, CPI and Mr. SiddharthZarabi,ManagingEditor, Business Today.  All the participants presented their opinions on rowing inflation and reduced GDP growth rate.

The students were given opportunities to ask questions from the esteemed dignitaries. They raised questions on job security, the relevance of Hindu Muslim issue and the growing concerns of petrol prices.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience as the students got a chance to be a part of the live show. They were served refreshments at the end.

Unity is Strength - Multiplying Advantages and Numbers at Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad conducted ‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme on the 8th of April, 2022.

 

The volunteers for the day were Sagar, Akash, Amit, Anubhav, Sourav, Baishnabi, Neha, and Abhijeet.

The first session of the day was conducted by Sourav as he involved the students in an exercise on multiplication. The students were called to the board to complete the tasks. With practiced ease, the children completed the assigned sums in a jiffy; those who performed well were presented with toffees.

The second half of the day’s session was carried out by Neha as she narrated a story. The moral of the story was based on the truism Unity is Strength. One of the volunteers Baishnabi had her birthday on the day; so she had brought along pens for the learners, which were then distributed by the volunteers.

With the day drawing to a close, Bikano Namkeen and Melody toffees were distributed among the kids before they proceeded homeward. Prof. Lokesh Upreti planned all the sessions. Prof. Ashutosh Sharma guided and motivated the students in the performance of the various tasks.

Department of Management at I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad organized the Guest Lecture for MBA (2020-22 Batch – IT Spec) on April 7th 2022 on the topic “Cloud Computing”. The Guest Speaker of the session was “Mr. Piyush Agarwal, Service Delivery Manager at i2k2 Network Pvt. Ltd.”

Mr. Piyush Agarwal is a Cloud Leader and Architect with 10 years of experience in the field

Of Information Technology. In i2k2, He is responsible for overall AWS Cloud operations from Consultancy, New Deployment, migrations, Operations and Managed services.

The  Session started with Cloud Computing’s importance , roles and opportunities at different platforms. The Participants were also deliberated with the importance of Cloud Computing and its future prospects in Business Management. Also, the speaker had explained every component of cloud computing with real life and industry instances, For instance, speaker has explained - Types of cloud computing services with an easy example of pizza as a service.

He also shared the various measures about cloud computing and how cloud secure the data of individual or company. He also emphasized on what the use of API in cloud computing. Mr. Piyush Agrawal gave a very motivating, inspiring session where he gave important and valuable lessons to the students.

Overall session was full of motivation, interactive and students raised many questions. A virtual plaque was presented at the end of the session as a token of gratitude to Mr. Piyush Agrawal.

International Corporate Talk on the topic “Selling in Post Covid Era; Lessons and what’s next..” for MBA students

Department of Management at I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad organised an Online International Corporate Talk for MBA (2020-22) Batch on April 6th 2022 on the topic “Selling in Post Covid Era; Lessons and what’s next..”

The Guest Speaker of the session was Mr. Arup Vithal, VP- Digital & Analytics Business Lifescience & Healthcare HCL Technologies Texas, USA.

Mr. Arup started his session by understanding what the students have learnt from the past two years where the world witnessed three Covid waves.

Mr. Arup explained how the business environment has changed since the time pandemic has hit the world. The needs and expectations of the customers have evolved and the concept of Work from Home has thrown a new set of challenges both for the employer as well as the employees. He further pointed out that how post covid scenario has made the use of technology more intrinsic. The students raise queries about the changing roles and positions in Corporates and also how what shall be the role of the Indian Companies in such a scenario.

Overall, the talk was very insightful. A virtual plaque was presented at the end of the session as a token of gratitude to Mr. Arup.

Utthan Club - "Drawing Competition and Computer Lab activity”

Utthan, a CSR initiative of Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad, Department of Management, organized a session on  “Drawing Competition and Computer Lab activity” for Government School students of class 1st to 8th in the campus on 31st March, 2022. 

The aim of the activity was to enhance the skills, knowledge, and confidence of the children. Drawing competition was conducted for the students of 1st to 4th standard where they drew the Indian Flag as instructed by the student volunteers of PGDM batch (2019-21) and for the students of class 5th to 8th, Computer Lab activity was conducted where the students were taught basics of Microsoft Word i.e., text formatting, text correction, etc.

Faculty Coordinators, Prof. Nitin Saxena and Prof. Shilpi Rana started the activity by addressing the students and motivating them for upcoming club activities.

Stationery goodies were distributed among the children and winners of the Drawing competition were awarded exciting gifts. They seemed to be quite enthusiastic after visiting the Computer lab.

Students were given refreshments at the end of the session.

Management faculty attended Mega International Summit on MSMEs’ Competitiveness and Growth

On the 29th and 30th of March 2022 Dr Rajeev Johari and Dr Indraneel Mandal from I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad attended the Mega International Summit on MSMEs’ Competitiveness and Growth organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad at the India International Centre, New Delhi.

The inaugural session was graced by Shri Narayan Tatu Rane, Honourable Union Minister for MSMEs, Govt. of India as the Chief Guest, with the Honourable Minister of State, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, attending as the Guest of Honour. Among the foreign dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr Gholamhossein Hosseinina, Honourable Deputy Minister of Cooperative, Labour and Social Welfare, Iran and Dr Ali Chhegni, Ambassador of Iran.

Dr Sumit Shukla, Director General EDII, welcomed all to the summit and highlighted why MSMEs matter on a global scale for the economic development of peoples and regions. Sh. Narayan Rane stressed on the important role MSMEs are playing in the economic growth of India, while Sh. Bhanu Prasad Singh Verma spoke of the steps taken by the present government towards the development of this sector. Dr Hosseinina in his address pointed out to the similarities in the MSME story in India and Iran; Dr Chhegni referred to the historical linkages between the two civilisations in India and Iran, and how it was significant for the economic development of both nations. Dr Amit Dwivedi, Summit in Charge, laid down the plan for the interactions at the summit over the coming two days, before Smt. Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India offered the Vote of Thanks for the inaugural session.

The format of the summit consisted of an interesting mix of invited talks as well as panel discussions on wide ranging topics. The invited talks featured entrepreneurs – many of them from different parts of the globe – speaking about their individual experiences and how it helped them in their growing their respective businesses. Several of them offered their viewpoints on the experience of the MSME sector and how it could pan out going forward. Among the panel discussions, which included dignitaries, experienced practitioners as well as academics and researchers, the diverse issues covered included role of conducive policies and non-financial business development services in MSME competitiveness; MSME challenges and opportunities in the era of Covid 19 pandemic and the role of incubation/acceleration in MSME growth; how MSMEs can work in consortia to achieve sustainability; and people, planet and profit in the light of development of the MSME sector.

All the sessions were highly interactive and rich in content as the assembled audience joined in with their own myriad experiences and insights on the issues at hand. The summit was a very well managed exercise as all participants came away with a lot of food for thought for further deliberations.
