Workshop on “Cyber Security” Organized by TechNext Club

A workshop on “Cyber Security” was organized for MCA Students (Batch 2023-25) on 18th June, 2024. The resource person of guest talk was Mr. Kunal Gupte, Technical Trainer Cyber Security & Microservices. The workshop was conducted under TechNext club, Department of IT, I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad.

The theme of the workshop was Cyber Security. At the outset, Director-IT & UG, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey addressed the audience by briefing about importance and need of cyber security.  The resource person Mr. Kunal Gupte started the workshop with basic concepts of cyber security with some real life examples and demonstrations. The workshop was focused over three sessions. The first session provided an overview of cybersecurity, its threats, and frameworks. The second session was delving into the job prospects in the field. The third session featured a live demonstration and hands-on exercise to enhance understanding. The workshop concluded with questions & answers (Q&A) session for open discussion.

The workshop was organised by Coordinators of TechNext Club, Prof. KP Singh, Prof. Chanchal Prabha and Prof. Vaibhav Bhatnagar. All the faculty members of IT department were present in the event. Students enjoyed the sessions of workshop and they were interactive with resource person and at last students seemed happy with learnings in field of cyber security.

MCA Alumni Reunion-2024

Department of IT, Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad conducted a MCA Alumni reunion for the pass-out batch from 2016 to 2022 on 15th June 2024.

The event witnessed the participation of about 250 Alumni, Spouses, Parents, and Kids.    

In the beginning, Alumni Coordinator Prof. Saurabh Saxena welcomed the guests and shared the objective & structure of the event. Chairperson-MCA Prof. Puja Dhar shared the latest developments in the Department of IT in the last 8 years.  Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, Director-IT, addressed the gathering and said that this event is a testament to the enduring bond our alumni share with their alma mater. "Today, we celebrate not just our past but also the bright future we continue to build together." In his address, Dr. Pandey congratulated the Alumni Coordinators, well supported by all the faculty and staff members of the Department of IT, for their efforts in making this event a success.

Department of IT, I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad conducted a first round of group discussion activity, SAMVAD-XIII for the students of MCA II Semester (Sec-B) (Batch: 2023-25) on Tuesday, June 7, 2024.

The objective of activity was to give the students a platform for improving their soft skills and to build confidence level. For placement preparation, it is very important to improve technical as well as soft skills. One of the important soft skills is effective communication. Communication skill can be enhanced with practice and environment by conducting Samvad, The department of IT provides a platform to improve the communication skills and confidence level of the students.

The topic of group discussion was “Impact of Technology on Environment and Ecology". Students were fully prepared for the GD with lot of statistical data. Each participant showed the full enthusiasm while discussing about the given topic.

Workforce Development Program (WDP) MoU Signing Ceremony

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between ITS Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad and Acetians Technologies Pvt. Ltd. on 28th May, 2024. The Institute runs university courses for which subjects and academic requirements are decided by universities. Though universities take care off, practical aspects for course curriculum by including practical subjects as and where required. Universities also include provision of mini projects and major project to give a required exposure and a hands on experience to the students. 

In addition to course curriculum provided by Universities, the institute also provides multiple platforms and avenues to the student like workshops on latest technologies, guest talks, CXO meets, hackathon, code fiesta and many more. In addition to all these opportunities, it would be a great advantage, if students get an environment and a platform to work on real life projects during their study time.  Some of key objective of WDP are listed below:

Filling the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills by providing hands-on experience in real IT projects.Offer internships for students to apply classroom learning to real-world IT projects.Develop a comprehensive skill set through diverse IT internships, including technical and soft skills, highly valued by employers. Encourage collaboration between academia, industry, and students to drive innovation and continuous learning in IT field. Nurture aspiring IT professionals to align their skills with industry needs, supporting long-term growth, competitiveness, and innovation in the IT sector. The MoU signing ceremony was started with an address by Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, he highlighted the importance and advantages of WDP for students. Mr. Amitesh Sharma, Managing Director, Acetians Technologies and his team discussed about working process of WDP. Prof. KP Singh, Associate Professor, Department of IT coordinated the MoU Signing ceremony. On the occasion of MoU signing ceremony all the faculty members of department were present.

Department of Management organized alumni talk on “Towards Excellence : A journey with I.T.S Achievers” for students of MBA 2023-25 batch on May 24, 2024.

The guest for the online session was Mr. Arpan Seth, Regional Sales Director, SAARC and Middle East Business, Flag Telecom Limited, Dubai and alumnus of MBA batch 2006-08. In the session he discussed about the opportunities and challenges in telecom sector. He also gave insights into the skills required in Profile designing, career growth, learning hard skills & soft skills and powers of 4Cs’ and 2Ds’ .

Attitude towards life and towards problems is now a bigger issue for Gen Z . The speaker shared his perspective towards dealing with problems and addressed students to change their attitude towards work.

Students asked questions about benefits of participating in extra-curricular activities. Also questions were asked on how to choose different fields and different sectors to work with. The speaker handled the questions very enthusiastically and advised students to participate in as many activities as they can. According to him, these programs not only will benefit them making their personalities but also will teach them to deal with different situations. He also advised the students to come out of their comfort zone and try new things so that they will sustain in this competitive era.

The online session ended with the speaker’s guidance for heading towards corporate world with honesty, loyalty and hard work. Dr. Nitin Saxena thanked the alumni for sharing his thoughts and experience with us and presented an online memento as a token of gratitude.

Institute Of technology and Science, Ghaziabad has organised an Alumni Talk by Ms. Megha Mittal, Senior Manager, Global Insights at PepsiCo, USA  and alumnus of MBA batch 2007-09 on 23rd May, 2024.

In the session she discussed about the ‘Leadership skills’ which is now an essential skill for every student. She discussed about the importance of these skills among the students and how they can gain this skill and how this skill will help them.

 The event began with a warm welcome by Dr.NitinSaxena, Coordinator- MBA Alumni Relations.

Ms.MeghaStarted her talk by highlighting the importance of learning about “Artificial Intelligence”. She discussed briefly the core concepts of artificial intelligence including machine learning, deep learning, and Generative AI. Further, she also discussed about how to embrace chance in corporate world. She advised that everyone should work on their skills as a student of MBA program it is essential to develop new skills

She also suggested that each one of us should seek out for mentorship by finding an appropriate mentor for us who can guide you in right direction. She believes in “YOUR GROWTH, YOUR HAND” which gave us a lesson that only we can decide what we want to do and how it can be achieved. Lastly, she mentioned the essence of keeping yourself updated with new trends in the industry and how attending and participating in conferences, seminars/ webinars etc. can be of great value for the same.

This session was a very interactive and it ended with the guest answering students’ queries patiently. Dr. NitinSaxena thanked the alumni for sharing her thoughts and experience with us and presented a memento as a token of gratitude.

Binary Club Activity on 23rd May, 2024

Team Binary – The IT & Operations Club organized the “Tech Treasure Trail” on 23rd May 2024.

Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a binary club activity “Tech Treasure Trail” for MBA Batch (2023-2025) on 23rd May,2024. The activity was conducted under the guidance of the faculty coordinator of the Binary Club, Prof. Mansi Singh.

The event was designed to enhance participants' knowledge of information technology and to foster teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. The primary objective of the Tech Treasure Trail was to provide MBA students with an opportunity to apply their IT knowledge in a fun and competitive environment. The activity aimed to encourage collaboration among students while they navigated through a series of IT-related challenges and puzzles.

The participants were divided into teams of 5, with each team comprising 3 members. The treasure hunt consisted of multiple places within the institute, each place presenting a unique IT-related challenge or puzzle. Teams had to solve the challenges to receive clues leading them to the next station.

The Tech Treasure Trail was a resounding success, achieving its objective of promoting IT knowledge and skills among MBA students. The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their technical abilities but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and teamwork.

Guest Lecture on “Integrating Generative AI into MIS”

Management Department of Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad organized a Guest Lecture for the MBA (2023-25) Batch on "Integrating Generative AI into MIS" on May 23, 2024.

The resource person was Mr. Atul Tripathi, Ex Big Data and AI Consultant, National Security Council Secretariat, Prime Minister's Office.

Mr. Atul Tripathi has over 20 years of experience in Generative AI, Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, UNSDG, and many more areas. He has also been part of delegations representing the country at various international forums and negotiations.

The guest lecture aimed to provide students with insights into how generative AI is revolutionizing data management, decision-making processes, and operational efficiencies in organizations.

Mr. Atul Tripathi began with an overview of the definition and scope of generative AI. He showcased real-world examples and case studies where generative AI has been successfully integrated into MIS to solve complex problems and enhance business operations. He also introduced the basic concepts and mechanisms of generative AI, including key models and techniques. He highlighted the specific advantages of integrating generative AI into MIS, such as improved data quality, enhanced decision-making capabilities, and increased operational efficiencies.

An interactive Q&A session was held, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on various aspects of specific applications and implications of generative AI in the field of Management Information Systems. The session was a resounding success, providing MBA students with valuable insights into future trends in generative AI and preparing MIS professionals to adapt to and leverage these advancements effectively in their careers.

Programming Club of Department of IT organized and conducted  an one day workshop on “From Data to Insight: Transformative Methods in Data Science” for  MCA first year students  dated on  22-5-2024  .

Mr. Kushal Dev Kashyap ,  Director HCL GUVI  Noida ,Mr.  Saransh Saxena , General Manager HCL GUVI  Noida  were  the key resource persons of this workshop. Mr. Saransh Saxena taken session with practical demonstration based  predictive data analysis using python  programming for using Spyder IDE. Mr. Kushal Dev Kashyap disused the basic concept and related terms of AI and ML , Data analytics  application in real world scenario.  I am sure that these sessions will defiantly help the students for their knowledge enhancement and skill up-gradation to develop AI/ML based academic as  well as real life AI/ML based live projects by doing the more practice as  .Total 77  participants were participated in this workshop. participants showed their interest to learn this technology and I am sure that participants of this workshop can develop apps by using AI/ML.

Currently working as a Commercial Marketing Manager at Suntory Global Spirit, Mr. Sharma shared his wealth of experience and insights with the current MBA students, motivating them and offering a realistic perspective on entering and thriving in the corporate world.

The event began with a warm welcome by Dr.Uma Gulati, Chairperson MBA Programme. She highlighted Mr. Sharma's professional journey and achievements, setting a tone of anticipation and excitement among the students. Mr. Sharma, known for his dynamic career and strategic expertise in the marketing sector, was greeted with enthusiastic applause as he took the stage.

Institute of Technology and Science, Ghaziabad has organized an alumni talk as a part of Alumni week with main theme on  “Towards Excellence: A journey with I.T.S  Achievers” on 20th May, 2024 for the students of MBA (2023-25) batch.

The main agenda for organising the alumni week is to address the opportunities and challenges available in different job profiles in the corporate world. This session is especially dedicated to discuss challeges and opportunities in HR domain.

The speaker for the session was Ms. Hemy Sharma , Senior HR, Muvro Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Alumna of MBA (2014-16) batch.

Ms. Hemy Sharma, started her session by sharing her journey from college life to the corporate world. She explained the main responsibilities of an HR manager in corporate and skills required to perform such responsibilities. 

She said that AI is revolutionizing recruitment by automating tasks like resume screening and initial interviews, enhancing efficiency and reducing biases. She further emphasised that by analysing metrics, recruiters optimize strategies and improve candidate matching, making the process more efficient

Ms Sharma further added that companies prioritize DEI Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by implementing unbiased screening and fostering inclusive cultures. This approach enhances workplace innovation and performance.

Effective marketing and strong employer branding attract top talent. Companies utilize social media and other platforms to showcase their values and culture. Recruiters emphasize on soft skills such as adaptability and problem-solving, which are crucial in today's dynamic work environment.

These trends reflect the integration of advanced technologies and a focus on inclusive, flexible, and transparent recruitment practices.

The session ended with honouring Ms. Hemy with Plaque as a token of thanks and gratitude.

International Conference at I.T.S Mohan Nagar,

I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organised two days International Conference on the theme “3Ps (People, Planet and Prosperity): Creating a Sustainable Global Business Model” on 3 – 4 May, 2024. The invited dignitaries of inaugural session included Shri Gopal Krishna Agarwal, National Spokesperson, Bharatiya Janata Party, as a Chief Guest; Prof. Pooran Chandra Pandey, Professor of Practice, Nalanda University and Advisor, UNESCO Inclusive Policy Lab, Paris, France, as Guest of Honour; and Dr Debarshi Mukherjee, Professor, Business Management, Jamia Milia Islamia, as Keynote speaker.

 

Dr V.N. Bajpai, Director, of the Institute extended a warm welcome to the Guests and participants of the conference. He pointed out that the focus on the 3Ps reflects a holistic attitude towards business and society, while driving positive change at the global stage. He was confident that the deliberations during the conference would enrich one and all.

Dr Manoj Kumar Jha, Convener of the conference, referred to the tradition at I.T.S. of organising conferences on contemporary issues. He spoke of the need to correlate with sustainable goals at the global level; gelling with innovative ideas in the fields of management and technology; and adhering to timeless Indian traditions. Dr Jha also laid out the plan for the different sessions over the two days.

The assembled dignitaries released the conference journal with several prominent papers. It was also an occasion for the release of the book Exploring Social Intelligence written by Dr Debarshi Mukherjee.

Shri Gopal Krishna Agarwal began by saying that the path to happiness is based on prosperity. Stating that learning is a continuous process, he said that ESG is now being incorporated into company balance sheets. India was primed for progress as it was well set to take advantage of the evolving knowledge economy.

Prof Pandey used his vast experience to illustrate how thoughts have evolved on the issue of ensuring social well-being. Referring to the theme of the conference he discussed human activities affected the planet and how that awareness could ensure prosperity

Dr Mukherjee in his address elaborated on the subject of his book. Stressing that time is of essence, he said that coexistence and coherence have been perennially imbibed, concluding that a symbiotic relationship is essential for the good of the planet. A thought provoking inaugural session is just what was needed to set the conference in motion. The gathered audience got a ring side view of the relevant issues while looking forward to more threadbare interactions during the forthcoming sessions.

The inaugural session was followed by to two Panel Discussions (Virtual Mode) to address the various dimensions of the conference main theme and sub themes. In first Panel discussion the speakers including Dr. Vibhuti Jha, Vice  Chancellor, The Global University, Itanagar Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Prashant Gupta, Professor - Finance and Accounting,IIM Nagpur, Dr. G. During the conference more than 70 research papers were presented by the Industry professionals, faculty, research scholars and students of various institutions from India and abroad. Selected research papers were published in International Conference special Journal. Two days of the conference were full of learning and excitement with a networking opportunity for all the participants.

I.T.S Ghaziabad -IEPFA-NCAER Investor Education and Protection workshop for Youth

Department of Management of I.T.S Ghaziabad in collaboration with the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India & National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) organised a workshop for students on “Modernising Financial Education and Sustaining Investor Confidence through the Investor Protection Framework” on 30th April, 2024.

The distinguished guests gracing the occasion included Dr C.S. Mohapatra, IEPFA Distinguished Chair, NCAER; Ms. Aprajita Sharma, Asst. Editor, Mint; Mr Amit Kumar Singh, Member, FLC University of Delhi; Mr Abhishek Bondia, Co-Founder SecureNow Insurance Broker Pvt. Ltd.; and Mr Gangesh Varma, Principal Associate, Saraf and Partners.

The inaugural session of the workshop had the invited guests being joined by Dr V.N. Bajpai, Director, I.T.S Ghaziabad; Shri Surinder Sood, Director (PR), I.T.S The Education Group and Dr Timira Shukla, Director, I.T.S. School of Management. Dr Bajpai welcomed all to the day’s programme with the confidence that the workshop would enable all present to be better informed, empowered and smart as investors. Shri Sood pointed out that India was poised for a period of significant growth. He reminded everyone that the imperative was to create wealth and not just money. Dr Rajeev Johari, convener of the session, thanked all for their presence and hoped that the endeavour would be fruitful.

The workshop witnessed the assorted personalities putting forth their views on diverse issues. Dr Mohapatra took the lead, mentioning that the government, the finance sector and the investing public need to be on the same page for the greater good of all. Ms. Sharma focused on the insurance sector, throwing light on issues like claims and index based mutual funds. Mr Bondia dealt with data literacy while Mr Singh referred to various instruments of investment, cautioning about pitfalls like ponzi schemes and chit funds. Mr Verma discussed much needed information on data protection.

The eager students had numerous queries regarding markets and investment, which were patiently explained by the dignitaries on stage. It was a very energizing session which left all present looking forward to further interactions in future.
