Inaugural Session of "Aarambh 2022"

The inaugural session of “Aarambh 2022”, the Orientation Programme for the 19th batch of MBA students, was organised at the Chanakya Auditorium of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad on October 11, 2022.

 

The ceremony was inaugurated with ceremonial lamp lighting by the Vice Chairman, I.T.S - The Education Group, Shri Arpit Chadha, Chief Guest Mr. Mudit Agarwal Founder & CEO Agrim Tech Services Ex. CIO, UFLEX; Guest of Honour Mr. Neerajh Malikk Chief Business Officer Aptech Ltd. CEO, Pursue Ed.;Guest of Honour Ms. Rimsha Shahid Assistant Director- HR Acuity Knowledge Partners; Director I.T.S Prof. (Dr.) V. N. Bajpai and Chairperson MBA Program, Dr. Sunil Kumar Yadav.

The ceremony began with the welcome speech followed by overview of I.T.S- The Education Group by Dr. V. N. Bajpai. Further, Dr. Sunil Kumar Yadav, outlined the different activities of the orientation program.

Sh. Arpit Chadha addressed the students and inspired them to achieve excellence in life. He pointed out the significance of faculty- student interaction in building of any institution.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Mudit Agarwal emphasised on honesty, networking and persistent efforts as key success mantra.

The Guest of Honour Mr. Neerajh Malikk exhorted the budding managers to seize the chance presented by hardship. He shared with the students 10 commandments that are essential for the professional growth.

The other Guest of Honour of the day, Ms. Rimsha Shahid, provided insightful explanations on problem-solving abilities, soft skills, and collaboration.The inaugural program was closed with the national anthem.

Excursion Trip to Pratap Garh Farms for MCA Students

Department of IT organized one day Excursion Trip for MCA Students to Pratap Garh Farms, Jajjar, Haryana on 11th October, 2022. Students were also accompanied with Faculty members of Department of I.T. On the arrival, students had a royal welcome by live folk musician dancers dressed up in their Rajasthan costumes.

Students enjoyed many fun, sports activities outdoor and indoor including different rides like Camel ride, Camel cart ride, Bullock cart ride, Tractor ride. There were many Ethnic Games including Gilli Danda, Pithoo, Lattoo, Kanche goli, Archery, Gulel (sling shot), Dart shooting, Air gun shooting, Kushti, Kabbadi, Kite flying, Tug of war. Students also enjoyed some sports including Cricket, Soccer, Volleyball and Badminton, Croquet, Trampoline jumping, Basketball, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Ludo and Snakes and ladders were also.

The day was also enjoyed with some adventure activities including Tyre Tunnel, Tyre Hopping, Balancing Beam, Commando Net, Commando Net Travers Wall, Tyre Travers Wall, Double Rope Bridge, Swinging Burma Bridge, Happy Hopper, Double Block Swing, Hanging Tyre Travers, Inverted A Rope Bridge, Tyre Balance Bridge, Zig Zag Walk, Cat Walk, Swinging Timber Log, V Bridge, Elephant Walk, Tyre Swing Walk, Swinging Plank, Swinging Squares.

The farm was also having some unique activities including

Rural Domestic activities: Rural Kitchen – participate with rural women and menfolk in their colorful attires – cooking on hearth, pounding grain, grinding grains, making ghee and butter millk, Panihari Chaal (balancing water pails), Charkha weaving.

Rural Creative Activities: Pottery, mud lep (applying mud paste to houses) and painting frescoes on mud walls, matka painting.

Agriculture and Dairy Activities: Tending goats, cows, buffaloes and goats, ploughing, sowing, reaping, winnowing.

Students were also served with different varieties of food and soft drinks. At the end of day students enjoyed DJ Music, Been and Dholki Dance.

The day was full of enjoyment, fun and excitement for Students of MCA.

Staff Development Programme on the topic “Understanding Workplace (Managing Change & Stress)"

I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a “Staff Development Programme" (SDP) on 30th September 2022

 

on the topic “Understanding Workplace (Managing Change & Stress)”. The resource persons for this SDP were Dr. Sanjeev Tandon and Prof. Shilpi Rana. The presence of Dr. V.N. Bajpai (Director) had added grace to the occasion. He spoke about the significance of the SDP and the relevance of the topic in the present work- life scenario. He stressed on the fact that change is an inevitable aspect of any academic institution. He highlighted the importance of team and individual in the changing environment.
The SDP started with an activity being administered to the participants by Prof. Shilpi. It was an exercise to make the participants comfortable and to enable them to gel with one another. The
discussion on change and the strategies adopted by the participants to mitigate that change was introduced by Dr. Sanjeev. 

Participants shared their incidences of change and how that change induced stress in their life. Various causes of stress at the workplace and how to deal with that stress was discussed. Levels of stresses were discussed and the stress management techniques were elaborated by the resource persons. 

The SDP ended with a meditation technique, where participants were instructed to close their eyes and imagine good things (location or place or incidence). Breathing exercises were subsequently administered to calm their minds. A video of “The Steps in Stress Management Process” was also shown to the group.

Overall, it was a learning session for the participants, where they could derive and gain solace with participative knowledge sharing on this burning topic. The SDP was attended by participants from various departments of the institute.

Utthan Club Activity- Talent Hunt

Utthan, a CSR initiative of Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad, organised a "Talent Hunt"  activity for the government school students on September 23 2022. The students were quite enthusiastic during the activity to showcase their hidden talents.  

Faculty Coordinators, Prof. Nitin Saxena and Prof. Shilpi Rana along with student volunteers of Utthan Club of PGDM (2021-23) batch coordinated the session.

Some students recited the Poems; many of them performed dances on different songs. Students of class 1 to 3 gave beautiful presentations on different topics. Best 3 performances were awarded with exciting gifts. Students were also taken to the Computer labs where they were taught about powerpoint presentations and its different slide designs.

At the end, all the students were given refreshments.

FDP on the topic "Building Institutional Resilience through Team Building and Leadership”

Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad organised a Faculty Development Program on the topic "Building Institutional Resilience through Team Building and Leadership” for faculty members of management department on Thursday, 15th September, 2022 in the campus. 

Prof. Shilpi Rana, Prof. Shikha Aggarwal and Prof. Smita Barik were the resource persons. The objective of the activity was to enhance the spirit of team building & leadership among the faculty colleagues. It also develops positive perception towards other members in the group. This activity mainly focused on coordination, improving analyzing skill and to enable quick decision making within a group. 

The FDP was conducted in 3 different rounds and all the rounds were based on fun games. The program was initiated with the ice breaking activity namely "Symon Says". The next round of activity was "Cape Exercise" in which all the participants were asked to write the positive things about each faculty on the chart paper worn by the faculty participants. In the last round, participants were divided into teams of two in which one participant was to be blind folded and another team member played the role of instructor. The winners of the last round were awarded with gifts.

The program was enriching for the participants and was very much appreciated by all.

During the Summit, Amazon Redshift ML was also introduced and many Government projects were also discussed in this summit. . The whole day was new learning and discussion on the applications of Cloud.

MBA students participated in National Stock Mock competition

The students of M.B.A at Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad participated in National Stock Mock competition organized by B School Bulls from 5th September to 9th September 2022.

 

B School Bulls, Govt of India approved start up has been established with a mission to inspire and equip business, commerce and management students to learn about the Capital Market and gain a deeper understanding of the business world.

This competition provided a virtual platform for the students where they were trading with virtual currency. This helped the students to learn the nuances of the stock market without actually taking any financial risk.

The participants were given virtual money of Rs. 20,000 to develop their dummy portfolio from stock listed on NSE for five consecutive days.

A total of 11 students of MBA III Semester participated and learnt the techniques of share trading. All the students received Certificates of Participation.

Shubham Kumar was awarded with First Prize along with a Cash prize of Rs. 10,000. Overall, the students had a wonderful learning experience

ICRIER Conference on “Taming Inflation”

Dr. Rajeev Johari and Dr. Indraneel Mandal faculty of I.T.S Ghaziabad attended a one-day conference on the theme “Taming Inflation” on the 8th of September, 2022 at the Gulmohar Hall of the India Habitat Centre organized by ICRIER.

The inaugural session was graced by the Honourable Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Dr Deepak Mishra, Director and Chief Executive, ICRIER, and Dr Ashok Gulati, Infosys Chair Professor of Agriculture, ICRIER.

The post lunch session had another panel discussion on the theme of taming inflation in India moderated by Ms. Mythili Bhusnurmuth, senior advisor, NCAER. The other participants included Dr Sitikanta Pattanaik, Executive Director, RBI; Dr Dharmadhikari Joshi, Chief Economist, CRISIL; Dr Ashima Goyal, Emeritus Professor, IGIDR.

With the multifaceted deliberations on the all-important topic drawing to a close, it was time for Dr Gulati to deliver the final Vote of Thanks. The gathered research and academic community has a lot to think about after the enlightening interactions with the assembled experts.

Parivartan’ Club – A CSR Initiative

A CSR Initiative by I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad- ‘Parivartan’ Activity was organized for underprivileged children of Sahibabad area, on September 2nd, 2022.

 

The volunteers included students of PGDM 2021-23 batch. The focus was on educating the underprivileged sections of society. The student volunteers included Shobhit, Aryan, Akash, Vaibhav, Vipin, Vibhu, Rima, Priyanshi, Surendra, Manvi.

 The following lessons were taught to the children:

(i). Identification & Names of colors in English,

(ii). Mathematical tables from 2 to 5 and,

(iii). Concept of using less than and greater than signs between two numbers.

The children sang English & Hindi Poems and participated with enthusiasm. Mr. Vaibhav Pratap Singh (PGDM Batch 2021-23) celebrated his birthday with these underprivileged children by distributing Frooti. The session ended with the distribution of cream-biscuits among the children. Prof. Ashutosh Sharma accompanied and guided the student volunteers.

Keynote Speakers in the event were Mr. SunilRajguru,Editor-Dataquest,PCQuest&CiOL and Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar - Chief Coordinating Officer, AICTE,MinistryofEducation, Govt. of India.

Both The speakers suggested various ways and strategies to bridge the gap between education and industry. They were emphasizing about the increased involvement of hands-on experience across platforms, middleware and cloud technologies.Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar said that great efforts should be taken to make these learning opportunities, such as reskilling and upskilling, accessible, available, and affordable to the workforce.

MonaBharadwaj,GlobalUniversityProgramsLeader,India, IBM emphasized that while the need for digital skills has been growing for years, the research shows that job changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic have accelerated the need for more training for both tech and non-tech workers on digital capabilities in India.

He also said that these two days are going to be a new learning for all and meeting the researchers who have come from different parts of the world”.

During his address, Vice Chairman, ITS –The Education Group, Sh. Arpit Chadha congratulated Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey and his team for organizing such a great conference. He said that “I.T.S, Ghaziabad is blessed to have the eminent researchers and industrialist from the globe who will be sharing their knowledge and experience with students and faculty members of different parts during these two days.”

Dr. Sandeep Inamdaar, Vice Chairman, Vishwaniketan, Mumbai talked about the project-based learning. He said that faculties should emphasis on the project-based learning so that students will have more technical knowledge in their domains. He also shared various videos where many students had worked on live projects under his guidance.

On Day-1 of the Conference, during the inaugural Session, a MoU was also signed between I.T.S, Ghaziabad and STIF Global Capsule (CGC), Aarhus University, Herning, Denmark. This MoU which is a joint research and collaborative academic activities was signed by Vice Chairman, ITS –The Education Group, Sh. Arpit Chadha and Prof. Ramjee Prasad, CTIF Global Capsule (CGC), Aarhus University, Herning, Denmark.

At the end of inaugural session Dr. Dnyaneshwar Mantri, SIT, Pune, Executive Committee Member, IETE Pune Local Center delivered a vote of thanks.

After inaugural Session-1 was conducted in the UG Boardroom. This session was chaired Dr.Ambuj Kumar, CGC, Aarhus University, Herning Campus, Denmark. The speakers in this session were Dr. Dinesh Chand Sharma, Director – Standards & Public Policy (SESEI) who spoke on “6G: Green Technology Evolution: EU policy measures and contribution of ICT Standards”. Sh. Satya N Gupta, Chairman of Board, Bluetown India and BIMSTEC discussed about the “Use of Blockchain Technology for future communications for Train Control”. Sh. Kishor Kumar Thakur, CGM BSNL & Cofounder Cyber Vidyapeeth talked about the cyber security threats and its countermeasures. At the end of this session all the speakers were felicitated by Director (IT&UG), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey. The session was coordinated by Prof. Puja Dhar.

Session-2 was scheduled after lunch break. This session was chaired by Sh. Kishor Kumar Thakur, CGM BSNL & Cofounder Cyber Vidyapeeth. In this session the speakers including Dr. Dinesh Chand Sharma, Director – Standards & Public Policy (SESEI) spoke about “Emotional Senses using AI and 6G”. Dr.Suvra S. Das, Professor, IIT Kharagpur talked about “Strategy towards 6G”. Vandana M. Rohokale, SIT, Narhe Pune discussed about “Pervasive AI and 6G Technology”. Prof. Abhay Kumar Ray, Assistant Professor talked about the Smart Home Technologies and Prof. K.P Singh, , Assistant Professor, I.T.S, Ghaziabad talked about the evolution of mobile phones and technology. At the end of this session all the speakers were felicitated by Director (IT&UG), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey. The session was coordinated by Prof. Varun Arora.

On day-2 after lunch an excellent cultural program was prepared and presented by the students of UG Campus and MCA Course which was well appreciated by everyone present.

After spectacular cultural programme by the students, round table discussion was conducted in the Seminar Hall. This session was chaired by Sh. Krishna Sirohi, I2B / AlbenaMihovska, CGC , Aarhus University, Herning Campus, Denmark. In this Session the speakers, Dr.Navin Kumar, Professor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore India and Dr.Ambuj Kumar, CGC , Aarhus University, Herning Campus, Denmark had discussed about the theme “6G and Environmental Variations”. At the end of this session all the speakers were felicitated by Director (IT&UG), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey. The session was coordinated by Prof. Varun Arora, Assistant Professor, I.T.S, Ghaziabad.

On Day-2 of 2-days International Conference, Session-1 was on the theme “Indo-Danish Collaborations”. This session was chaired by Dr. Soren Tranberg Hansen, Consulate General of Denmark in India, Dy. Head of Mission (Science & Technology) Bangalore. There were three panelist in this session including Dr.Ambuj Kumar, CGC, Aarhus University, Herning Campus, Denmark, Dr. Vandana M. Rohokale, SIT, Narhe Pune and Prof. Swati Prasad, BIT Mesra, Ranchi. During the session Dr. Vandana shared her PhD journey at Aarhus University, Herning Campus, Denmark. Dr.Ambuj Kumar also presented his research work on 6G and Environmental Variations. At the end of this session all the speakers were felicitated by Director (IT&UG), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey. The session was coordinated by Prof. Puja Dhar, Assistant Professor, I.T.S, Ghaziabad.

Session-2 was based on the theme “Innovation and research for 6G in India”. This session was chaired by Dr. Tilak Raj Dua, Executive Director, Augere Wireless Broad Band India Pvt Ltd. & Executive Vice President GISFI. The speakers in this session were Sh. Upkar Singh, Vice President, RMSI, Shri Shashank ShekharGaruyar, Chairman, Cybervidyapeeth Foundation, Prof. Puja Dhar, Assistant Professor, I.T.S, Ghaziabad and Prof. Varun Arora Assistant Professor, I.T.S, Ghaziabad. In the beginning of the session Dr. Tilak Raj Dua talked about the Indo-Danish Collaborations and the impact of 6G technology. Sh. Upkar Singh talked about the readiness of corporate world for 6G technologies. Shri Shashank Shekhar Garuyar discussed about the cyber security and how technology is impacting the social life of a human being. Prof. Puja Dhar talked about her research work as well as the role of 6G in Health Industry. Prof. Varun Arora also talked about his research work. At the end of this session all the speakers were felicitated by Director (IT&UG), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey. The session was coordinated by Dr. Dnyaneshwar Mantri,SIT, Pune, Executive Committee Member, IETE Pune Local Center.

While concluding the conference, Director (IT&UG), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey delivered the vote of thanks and thanked all the eminent guests, speaker and delegates who were the part of this conference.

The conference was attended by over 700+ participants including delegates including Academicians, Researchers, Scientists, Policy makers, Research Scholars & students from various parts of the country including – Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and various cities of UP and MP etc. and other countries including Denmark.

Faculty Development Programe on the topic “Analytics for decision making”

Understanding the importance of Analytics in today’s scenario, I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad has organised a Faculty Development Programe on the topic “Analytics for Business Decision” on 19th and 26thAugust 22. The resource person for the same was Dr. Ashish K Jha. In this FDP total of 30 faculty members have participated.

On the first day of FDP, Dr. V N Bajpai (Director) has inaugurated the event and he said that in today’s scenario business decisions are being taken on the basis of analytics. He also emphasise on the importance of analytics in the different area of management.

Dr. Ashish Jha has shared and shown how decisions related to various methods of pricing are being taken in the industry. He trained the participants on Price skimming, Linear pricing and other types of pricing.

On second day of FDP (26th August) the trainer has taken the session on the topic “Customer Life time Value”. He discussed, how to calculate the customer lifetime value in a company. During the session he has taken the case of Netflix to calculate the CLTV.

Overall the session was fruitful for the participants.

‘Parivartan’ Club – A CSR Initiative by I.T.S Ghaziabad celebrated “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” on the 15th August, 2022.

 

The volunteers for the day were students of PG Management including Anuj, Akash, Sourav, Sakshi, Mahima, Divyanshi, Priyanshi, Shobhit, Surendra, Abhijeet, Awnish, Anurag, Radha Krishna, Puneet, Animesh, Nargis, Ayushi, Poorvi, Simran, Akansha, Soumya Rahul, Kartik, Rupali.

Volunteers distributed hand-flags among the children. Children participated in the celebration enthusiastically. They recited poems and performed on various patriotic songs. Performers were awarded with Tricolor badges. Also our students made the children aware about the importance of the occasion and shared with them the struggle of the freedom fighters to bring this Independence.

Utthan Club celebrated – 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotasav

Utthan, a CSR initiative of I.T.S Ghaziabad, celebrated “75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotasav” with the government school students on August 10, 2022. 

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. A mesmerizing session was organized on the same theme in the campus.

Faculty coordinators, Prof. Nitin Saxena and Prof. Shilpi Rana along with student volunteers of Utthan club of PGDM (2021-23) Batch coordinated the session.

Poem recitation competition was organised for the students of class 1 to 5, in which 8 participants recited beautiful patriotic poems. For class 6 to 8, Speech competition was conducted, where 6 students participated with great enthusiasm. Best 3 performers from both the competitions were awarded with exciting gifts. A Voluntary dance performance was also given by the school girls on patriotic songs.  Dr. Timira Shukla, Director graced the session with her benign presence and motivated the students with her words of wisdom.

Students were seen with full of energy and enthusiasm holding tricolours in their hands and chanting “Vande Matram” on this occasion.  

At the end, all the students were given refreshments.
