I.T.S Ghaziabad organised a five-day Value-Added Program for MBA first-year students (Batch 2024-26) in offline mode from November 12 to 16, 2024. The program aimed to enhance students' understanding of entrepreneurship and innovation, covering topics such as Innovation and Entrepreneurship, MSME Schemes, Entrepreneurial Finance, and the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in India. Esteemed speakers shared their expertise, offering valuable insights into these areas.
On 12th & 13th November, the focus was on the Entrepreneurial Environment and MSMEs. Mr. Ashish Thombre, emphasized innovation, startup incubation, and steps to build a startup, highlighting entrepreneurship's significance in innovation, job creation, and economic development. Mr. Sunil Kumar, Assistant Director Gr-I, Ministry of MSME, DFO - Okhla, Delhi delved into the critical role of MSMEs in the Indian economy, discussing initiatives like CHAMPIONS and ZED Certification, and their contributions to GDP and employment.
On 14th & 15th November centered on Entrepreneurial Finance, with CMA Pankaj Jain, Founder Jain Ventures providing an in-depth overview of funding mechanisms, including bootstrapping, angel investing, crowdfunding, venture capital, and IPOs. He also explained methods for estimating financial requirements and the criteria investors use during funding evaluations.
On 16th November, Mr. Praveen Kapoor, Co-Founder & Director, BeBoss Technology &Chairman- Startup Committee, Bhartiya MSME discussed the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in India, detailing the roles of agencies like DPIIT, DICs, NSIC, NISBUD, and EDII in supporting entrepreneurship. He also covered the Startup India initiatives, state innovation rankings, and seed funding schemes, emphasizing the government’s role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
The program enabled students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, MSME processes, and startup financial strategies. Interactive discussions addressed their queries on entrepreneurship, funding, and MSME schemes. The initiative sparked curiosity and engagement, equipping students with essential tools for entrepreneurial success. The speakers were highly commended for their expertise and their ability to engage effectively with the students.
