Parivartan – The Slum Education Programme

Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad conducted ‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme on 18th August, 2019, covering the topics of Highest Common Factors (HCF) in mathematics and a story session centering on Rakshabandhan.
Atul began by explaining the concept of HCF in mathematics. He took up some sums to clarify the concept further. Some of the children were called to the board to solve the sums while others solved them in their copies.
Then Kirti came forward to relate the story of King Bali and Goddess Laxmi and how it led to the celebration of rakhi as a bond between brothers and sisters.
Finally Sudhanshu resumed Chhoti Chhoti Baatein, where he explained the role of trust or vishwaas. He pointed out how it was important to keep promises and why we should promise only that which we can fulfill. He also alerted the kids to the fact that we need to be careful about whom to trust.
An impromptu quiz was used to test everybody’s knowledge. Those who answered several of the questions correctly were rewarded with a special ITS Coffee Mug each. Finally it was time to distribute ‘Bikano Namkeen’ packets, ‘Britannnia Good Day’ biscuits and ‘Parle Kachcha Aam’ toffees among the learners.
MDP on "Rural Marketing - Opportunities and Challenges on 17th – 18th August 2019

Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad conducted two days Management Development Program, on “Rural Marketing – Opportunities and Challenges”.
Sr. Prof. Chander Sabharwal was the Convener of this MDP. The objective of the MDP was to sensitize 40 delegates from highly reputed Companies, about developments and opportunities in Rural India. The content of the MDP was carefully structured and reading materials were provided. Highly reputed and well know resource persons were invited to address the MDP, as a value addition.
The Inaugural ceremony was bedecked with the prestigious presence of Mr. Pradeep Kashyap, Founder of Rural Marketing & RMAI, MART, in India, Mr. Pankaj Mishra, Partner MART, Management Consultant New Delhi, Mr. Kamal Kumar, Dhanuka Agrotech Ltd. Gurgaon, Sri. Arpit Chadha,Vice Chairman - I.T.S The Education Group, Dr. Vidya Sekhri, Director (Management), Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Kr Pandey, Director – I.T and UG and Dr. V N Bajpai, Professor (Marketing Area), Chairperson: PGDM Programme. A total of 40 executives from all over India from Coromandel International Ltd. Mumbai, Indofil Limited, SWAL Corporation LTD,UPL Limited – Mumbai, Dhanuka Agrotech Ltd. Gurgaon, Meghmani Organics Ltd Ahmedabad, Crystal Crop Protection Ltd Delhi, Odika Foods & Naturals LLP and an Ag Start Up from Jodhpur, were registered for MDP.
Our esteemed guest Mr. Pradeep Kashyap and Mr. Pankaj Mishra gave the group an understanding the Rural Markets in India today and tomorrow. Afterward, Sr. Prof Chander Sabharwal discussed the emerging Rural Indian landscape.
Post lunch sessions were on Rural Distribution and Communication delivered by Mr. Kamal Kumar. Sr. Prof. Chander Sabharwal discussed the case study on “The Commotion”, material from IIM Ahmedabad.
The distinguished guests Dr. Ashok Dalwai, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Chairman Doubling Farmer’s Income,NITI Aayog, enlightened the delegates about the existing and upcoming policies of Government of India and the need for agriculture to be more profitable and technology oriented.A session was conducted by Mr. Mohan Bajikar, Futurologist, Agricultural Scientist, Technology provider Agri House India Pvt. Ltd., regarding the future of agriculture in India that embraced vertical farming, sensors, Geo Bots and Aeroponics technologies. Dr.Udaivir Singh, Author, Thinker and Strategist Agriculture expert, took an interactive session on farmer strategies with the executives, having vast 50 years’ experience behind him in diverse fields. Mr. N.K. Arora, Ex. Senior Management, Bayer Crop Science Ltd., enlightened the delegates from his experience about the changing Distribution models for products to the farmer in past, present and future. Sr. Prof Chander Sabharwal interacted about the issues that are faced by the executives while dealing with the farmers and discussed the solutions. Finally, the MDP, packed with experiential learning, and an insightful discussion concluded with the distribution of certificates.
MDP was conducted successfully and was a valuable content provider to participants. The Feedback from delegates that was received being “Excellent to Very good” reinforces the planning effort put in by the Department.
‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad conducted ‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme on 11th August, 2019, recalling the contributions of the great freedom fighters and celebrating the 73rd Independence Day of the nation. It was also an apt occasion for distributing the donated stationary items.
Amidst the grim skies, the volunteers organised the children into rings to set the mood for the day through an impromptu game. Then, with the skies clearing, as everybody settled in for the day, the classes began with Kirti, Jyoti, Sachin, Upasna Rishita and Ayush explaining the role played by martyrs like Netaji Shubhas Chandra Bose, Shahid Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, Chandrashekhar Azad and Rajguru. The volunteers had brought along pictures of the noted freedom fighters for familiarizing the children.
Tricolor balloons and flags were distributed among the children amid chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai in order to imbibe a sense of patriotism. The occasion was also appropriate for distributing the stationary items that had been graciously donated by members of ITS Parivar. Lastly the customary quiz was carried out – this time to recap the facts on the aforementioned freedom fighters.
Foreign Guest Talk for the Students of MCA, BCA & BBA

Department of I.T., I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized half-day Foreign Guest Talk for the students of MCA, BCA & BBA on 8th August, 2019.
Mr. Ben Tucker, Partner, Minerva LLP, London, United Kingdom was a speaker of this session.
The session was inaugurated by the Lamp Lightening ceremony before Maa Saraswati by the dignitaries including Director(IT & UG), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, Guest Mr. Ben Tucker, Vice Principal-UG Campus, Prof. Nancy Sharma, Chairperson-MCA, Prof. Puja Dhar, Chairperson-BBA, Prof. Uttam Sharma and Coordinator-MCA, Prof. Smita Kansal.
While addressing the gathering Director- IT&UG, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that these sessions are very useful for the students so that they can listen & interact with the Guest like Mr. Ben. He said that Institute always provides platform to the students where they can update their knowledge and implement it in their real life.
Mr. Ben Tucker, guest of the session said that students should follow 5-key points in life to be successful including Hard work & focus towards his goal, learning from failures, mentoring other (Team work), keep learning attitude and last but not least taking care of your passion. It may be sports, games so that those things can make you relaxed for the performance of next job.
While addressing the students he also shared his experience and quoted many live examples of his struggle which may be helpful to the students in their future.
The session was interactive & helpful to students . Both PG-IT & UG campus students had attended this session. At the end of this session both Chairpersons of BCA & BBA delivered vote of thanks .
Other faculty members of PG-IT & UG Campus were also present in this session.
SPOC Felicitation Workshop at IIT Kanpur Outreach Centre, Kanpur

Dr. Vidushi Singh had attended SPOC Felicitation Workshop conducted by IIT Kanpur at Outreach Centre, Kanpur on 3rd August 2019.
Objective of the workshop was to felicitate SPOCs of those colleges in which students were top scorer, and participation of the faculty and students were good in number. Ms. Bharti, Program Manager, NPTEL, Prof. Satyaki Roy National Coordinator, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur, Ms. Lalty Dutta, Project Manager, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur, Ms. Angana Sengupta Coordinator, Local Chapter, IIT Kanpur along with SPOC’s of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and North East states were present.
Dr. Vidushi Singh received Certificate of Appreciation for Active SPOC for the Swayam-NPTEL Local Chapter for I.T. S Ghaziabad for January-April 2019 by Prof. Satyaki Roy National Coordinator, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur.
Before beginning of the session, Prof. Satyaki Roy warmly welcomed the gathering. Ms. Bharti briefed about details of NPTEL, how and when it has been formed, before it was planned to just deliver video lectures, later on it has been shifted to online certification. He also briefed about achievements of NPTEL till date like 30,000+ video hours, 371+million NPTEL website view, 271+ million you tube views etc. He also shared the statistics of number of students and faculty participation from initial years to April 2019. He also communicated how these courses helped students in their placements.
Ms. Bharti also informed that like previous semester this semester also 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks NPTEL courses will be considered as ½ FDP of one week, Full FDP of one week and 1 ½ FDP of one week respectively.
At the end SPOC of various colleges were felicitated by Prof. Satyaki Roy National Coordinator, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur, Ms. Lalty Dutta, Project Manager, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur and Ms. Angana Sengupta Coordinator, Local Chapter, IIT Kanpur.
It was totally an interactive session where SPOC from various universities and institutes of repute discussed about the various courses provided by NPTEL and also gave their suggestions to make these courses more effective for masses.
Overall it was a good learning experience about operation of NPTEL online courses.
Effective and Practical Tips on Massive Open Online Courses ( MooCs) and Preparation for Higher Studies & IT Jobs

Department of I.T., I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad had organized half-day session on “Effective and Practical Tips on Massive Open Online Courses (MooCs) and Preparation for Higher Studies & IT Jobs” for the students of MCA-V Semester on 2nd August, 2019.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh, Professor,Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, Solan (H.P.) was a keynote speaker.
While delivering welcome address, Chairperson-MCA, Prof. Puja Dhar said that students should be aware of the happenings of IT world and they should update their knowledge by enrolling in the Massive Open Online Courses.
Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey in his address said that MooCs are very important nowadays and there are many renowned Universities who offer online courses in various emerging technologies. He advised students to prepare well for the placement drives and also work on fundamental concepts of each subject which they learn.
While addressing the students, Dr. Pradeep Kr. discussed about the importance of the MooCs and also gave some tips on how to enroll for these online courses free of cost. He advised students to enroll in NPTEL, Coursera and other Universities for the technology which is of their interest.
He also discussed some live case studies and suggested many Job options for the students which they can opt after their postgraduation is completed.
The session was helpful to students in which they learnt about how to enroll for MooCs and their importance in the corporate world. While addressing the students Dr. Pradeep also advised them to work on the basic concepts of the subjects they study during their course.
Other faculty members of IT Department including Prof. SmitaKansal, Coordinator-MCA, Prof. Abhay Kr. Ray was also present in this session.
This was an informative and an interactive session in which students cleared their doubts regarding the importance of MooCs in IT sector.
Special Session on “Voice Over Internet Protocol” through Video Conferencing for MCA

With an objective to create best learning opportunities to MCA Students, Department of IT, I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad has organised session in the Video Conferencing Series on “Voice Over Internet Protocol” through Video Conferencing on 24.7.2019 at Institute premises.
In Session, Prof Kuo-Chang Ting, Minghsin University of Science & Technology, Hsinchu, Taiwan interacted with faculty &Students. Prof Ting discussed about Internet Protocol Architecture, VoIP Service, VoIP Connections, SIP and it’s related examples. he has also focused on switching methods, Circuit Switching, Packet Switching and its comparison, benefits and disadvantages to depth understanding of concepts.
This event was in the series of Invited talks through video conferencing by international speakers of repute by Dept of IT of the institute with an objective to provide the detailed insight of the latest developments in technology, research issues and futuristic development of MCA Students.
At the end of session, Dr Sunil Kumar Pandey Director (IT) interacted with students and conclude the session. Dr Pandey advised students to enhance their technical, interpersonal and research skills.
It was overall good learning experience for all the participants.
Special Session on “Angular JS in Alumni Talk Series”

Department of IT organised Special Session on “Angular JS in Alumni Talk Series” on Monday, 22nd July 2019.
For this session, I.T.S MCA Alumni, Mr. Sunny Upadhyay,(MCA Batch2005-2008), Group Leader, Newgen Technologies was invited to conduct this sessionand address the MCAStudents.
In this session, Mr. Upadhyayinteracted with existing students and discussed about latest trends and technologies like Angular JS, ORA Model. He has alsofocused on JSON, Understanding of Angular, Installation Process and also upgradation from angular js to angular 4. He has also guided them to focus on individual enhancement of technical and communication skills.
He suggested to students to do hands on Annotations, Servlet and REST Services for better understanding of concept.
He has also suggested How to prepare for a career of choice and succeed. Mentioning about the latest trends he said that in spite of all developments the core remain almost same and hence fundamentals needs to be worked upon and should be made strong. It was truly mesmerizing to listen him and his thought process.
This event was in the series of Invited talks by eminent alumni of repute by Dept of IT of the institute with an objective to provide the detailed insight of the latest developments in interpersonal skills, technology, research issues and futuristic development.
Mr Upadhyay has also interacted with students and answered queries asked during the session.
It was good experience for participating students.

ATS, Indore was scheduled on 20th July, 2019 for MCA Students in association with CSI Student Branch @ I.T.S. This session also had a component of Personal Grooming that was targeted at young professionals who are just entering a corporate environment.

Utthan Activity on “Google All The Way”

Utthan, A CSR initiative of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar organized a session on festivals celebrated in India during January to July for school children on 20th July, 2019 in the campus.
In the first segment of the activity, students were familiarized with all festivals celebrated in India.
In the second session, students were taken to Computer Labs and were taught about “Google Drive” and creating “Google Form”. Students were asked to create Google form using different tools available like inserting picture, creating multiple options, charts, tables etc.
Also, Students presented their views on different festivals on stage. Total 42 students participated in the speech competition and 35 were awarded with the prizes.
Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey, Director (IT) was invited to felicitate the winners with prizes.
All the students were given refreshment at the end of the session.
Faculty Development Programme on "Learner Centric Pedagogy: Contemporary Tools and Techniques"

Dr V N Bajpai and Dr D K Pandey of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar conducted Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Learner Centric Pedagogy: Contemporary Tools and Techniques" on 17.07.19 at Ideal Institute of Management & Technology, Delhi (IP University).
The session was the part of one week FDP on "Integrated Technologies, Approaches and Effective Didactical Mechanism in Teaching, Learning and Research in current Scenario" organized jointly by MSME Technology Development Center (A Govt of India Organization under Ministry of MSME) & IIMT Delhi.
The session was a demonstration of pedagogy for participants to involve the learners leading to better understanding of concepts and sharpening the transferable skills. Some of the tools for effective quizzing were also discussed with the participants.
More than 50 faculty members of Management, IT and Law from different institutes participated in this FDP.
Faculty Development Programme on “Research Trends in Cloud, Fog and Edge Computing” at NIT Jalandhar

I, KP Singh attended a TEQIP Sponsored one week FDP on Research Trends in Cloud, Fog and Edge Computing” conducted by NIT Jalandhar, during 17th July 2019 to 21st July 2018.
The objective of this FDP was to provide theoretical and practical background with state of art research practices, current and future research trends.
The above mentioned FDP was conducted by TEQIP team at NIT Jalandhar where various eminent resource persons from reputed academic institutions and from reputed IT Industry shared their research and technical exposure. The first day first session was taken by Prof.(Dr.) Mayank Dave from NIT Kurukshetra in which he discussed about the concepts of Cloud computing, Fog computing and Edge computing. Dr. Dave also highlighted some latest trends and updates being happened in the area of Cloud computing like IBM Mean, App Cloning, Node.js, NPM, QoS and QoE etc.
The next session was continued by Dr. Sandeep Kr. Sood from GNDU, Amritsar. In this session Dr. Sood highlighted the concepts of creation of PaaS on Google App Engine. Dr. Sood also discussed about No SQL Databases, JSON, CPS: Cyber Physical System and Concepts of IoT with Cloud. The next sessions were taken by various other eminent resource persons on various research trends and its applications in the area of Cloud Computing like: Dr. OP Verma from GB Pant Govt. Engineering College New Delhi, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sofat from Panjab Engg. College Chandigarh, Dr. Kamlesh Dutta from NIT Hamirpur, Dr. Kuldip Kumar from NIT Jalandhar, Dr. Avtar Singh from NIT Jalandhar and Dr. Harsh Kr. Verma from NIT Jalndhar.
In the next sessions on the next day’s several resource persons from reputed IT Industries shared their Industrial and core technical exposure with the participants and demonstrated some practical aspects on ongoing and in use technology in the cloud industry. In these sessions Dr. Amit
Sangroya from TCS Research department discussed practical and research aspects of Map Reduce technology on MRBS Simulator. Mr. Karamvir Singh Rajpal from GiagByte Networks conducted hands on Tensor flow to implement the concepts of machine learning and shown how neuron network implemented in application.
On the last day a practical and hands on session was conducted by Dr. Mani Madhukar from IBM. Dr. Madhukar demonstrated the process of creation of cloud instances on IBM cloud and he also conducted hands on exercise to create a Banking Chatbot on IBM Cloud. Dr. Madhukar also made the participants aware about latest trends and technologies coming up in the IT Industry like concepts of Block Chain, Crypto Currency and Bit Coin
The FDP was very useful and I learnt many new things from this programme.
30th Jeet Kune-Do Belt Awards 2019 organized by I.T.S Mohan Nagar

I.T.S Mohan Nagar sponsored and organized 30th Jeet Kune-Do Belt Awards 2019 in association with Jeet Kune-Do Sports Association of U.P., a part of Jeet Kune-Do Federation of India on 14th July, 2019 at I.T.S Mohan Nagar campus.
Jeet Kune-Do is a famous Self Defense, Street Fight Martial Art developed by Bruce Lee, the well known martial artist.
The programme started with floral welcome of the Chief Guest, Shri Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman of I.T.S The Education Group by Mr. Vivek Kaushik, President of the Association followed by lamp lighting by the dignitaries present. In his address, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the Federation for nurturing young generation with this art of self defense. He expressed his commitment and support for bringing such sports at the centre stage of exposure and popularity among youth.
More than 400 participants of different age groups with their parents from Ghaziabad, Delhi & NCR fought for Yellow, Green, Blue and Brown Belts.
The winners of different categories were awarded with Medals and Belts.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized activity , with the game planned for the day.
In the first phase, a session of dumb charades was organised. Unlike most such sessions which are merely played for fun, here, in characteristic Parivartan style, the kids were made to act out ideas which had been taught during the classes in general. This process was used to identify ten winners. Those answering correctly received toffees, while those who acted out the charades were given biscuits.
In the second phase these ten winners were then made to face questions regarding all that had been taught during the past month. While those who answered rightly were given toffees, they also received points. Ultimately the three top scorers were presented Table Tennis Sets.
Subsequently, things came to an end with the distribution of ‘Parle Good Day’ biscuits and ‘Parle Orange Bite’ toffees. Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers.

PG faculty Dr. Vivek Pachuri attended a Eight Days Faculty Development Program on "Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics" at Indraprasth Engineering College Ghaziabad
The program was organised under the series of Value Education cell, AKTU. The objective of the program was to make aware and enrich the participants with need of value education and their holistic development which in turn can shape or reshape holistic development of students in today's complex and multidimensional environment. The session were really full of enthusiasm and energy along with learning outcomes. Under this program, I got opportunity and a platform where I could be able to understand process of self exploration with the help of new proposals and basic human aspirations with an excellent of mix pedagogy. I hope and shall try to apply my efforts in a direction to reap more benefits of workshop via process of transformation in self in order to give benefits to my students and society too.
