Special Session by Sh. Anish for the students of I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad

On 23rdDecember 2022, Department of IT, I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a special session for the students of I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad.

The session was inaugurated by the Director (IT), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, Director ITS, Dr. V N Bajpai, eminent Guest Sh. Anish Ji and Director, ITS-School of Management, Dr. Timira Shukla.

While addressing the audience, Director (IT), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that these sessions are the energy boosters for all of us and students are privileged to listen Sh. Anish Ji.

During his talk Sh. Anish Ji, (Cofounder of world’s leading HR Consulting Company-PeopleStrong), Visionary, Spiritual Teacher, Humanitarian, Leadership Mentor, Author addressed on success mantra of life with keeping control on emotions, stress release and how to be purposeful, focused, exuberance, fearlessness and relationship. After session lots of questions were asked by the student’s which lasted for about an Hour. It itself speaks the impact, connect and engagement of students in the session.

At the end of the Session the way students approached him with their questions, to take photographs with him, touching his feet and requesting to come again was something which touched him and he assured that he will surely visit again the Institute in near future.

Sh. Anish also discussed about the five factors which are very important for a person to be successful like Purpose, Focus, Exuberance, Fearless and Relationship.

In his comment Sri Anish Sir appreciated the Management of the Institute, faculty and staff team and most importantly he was very happy and appreciated the way students interacted and came forward with lots of questions.

At the end of session, Director (ITS), Dr. V N Bajpai proposed a vote of thanks and wished best luck to all the students for their future endeavours.

The session was attended by over 750+ students and the faculty members of IT & Management Department.

Guest Talk by Sh. Sanjeev Jain on “Building Effective Social Media Profile on Linkedin”

On 21st December 2022, Department of IT, I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a guest talk on the theme “Building Effective Social Media Profile on LinkedIn” for the students of MCA.

The business community has its own dedicated social networking platform calledLinkedIn. The website’s objective is to give registered users the ability to createand maintain professional networks of people they are familiar with and trust. It isthe biggest professional network on the internet in the entire world. LinkedIn canbe used to connect with people and establish professional ties, discover the idealjob or internship, and get the knowledge necessary to advance your career.

While addressing the students, Director (IT), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey advised students to take full advantage of the session and it is important for all to have an effective profile on LinkedIn. He said thatsocial media is gaining popularity and can’t be ignored now. How to make once presence with proper organization, impressive, effective and systematic is key to success as many professional organizations are continuously looking at Social Media Profiles not only for exploring good human resource but also for other collaboration, research and other professional associations.

MCA Chairperson-Prof. Puja Dhar welcomed the guest and the students. She said that these sessions are required especially for the students of 2nd year who are preparing for the placement drives. Students should act upon the advices suggested by the speaker.

The objective of this talk was to make the students aware about the effective LinkedIn Profiles. Mr. Sanjeev Jain, Chief Information Officer, Integreon-Mumbai was the speaker of this session. Mr. Jain in his elaborative session discussed various aspects of making impressive and effective Social Media Profile in specific reference to LinkedIn.

During his talk he suggested students many tips regarding the Profile Pictures, what to write in a summary, how to sell the qualities using impressive words.

At last, he advised all the students to prepare an eye-catching profile which is full of achievements and skills of a person. The session was an eye-opening for all the learners. Mr. Jain also addressed many queries of the students.

The Session was also attended by Vice Principal, UG-Campus, Prof. Nancy Sharma, Coordinator, MCA Prof. SmitaKansal, and Faculty members of Department of IT.

I.T.S Mohan Nagar ,Ghazibad Department of Management  organised a 4-days Employability Skills Program for MBA (2021-2batch)  from 20th - 23rd December 2022

by Rubicon Skill Development Pvt Ltd Rubicon’s Training Program is supported by Barclays which aims at improving the employability skills of the youth.

Under this program, participants were trained by Certified Corporate Trainers to enhance their Employability skills which will help them significantly to increase their chance of succeeding in a job interview.

This Training Program covered modules like Organizational Structure, Public Speaking, Presentation Skills, E-mail Etiquette, Grooming, Group Discussion, Personal Interview and assessment which was conducted on the basis of Group Discussion and Personal Interviews.

At the end of the session, participants were given detailed feedback for their performance during the Mock Interview Session. Also, participants were awarded with participation certificates.

FIFTH RESEARCH CONVENTION 2022 ON “ECONOMIC RESET: AGENDA FOR 2030”

Institute of Technology and Science, Ghaziabad organised the Fifth Research Convention on the theme “Economic Reset: Agenda For 2030” on 17th December, 2022.

The distinguished guests for the Inaugural Session included Dr Rajan Sudesh Ratna, Senior Economic Affairs Officer, UNESCAP South and South-East Asia Office, who was the Chief Guest; Ms Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary, Ministry of MSME, who was invited as the Guest of Honour; and Dr Satya N. Gupta, Chairman, Bluetown India and BIMSTEC, who attended as a Special Guest.

The Honourable Vice Chairman sir Shri Arpit Chadha addressed the students in the audience, asking them to utilise the deliberations as a serious means of developing themselves. He opined that in order to get ahead in life it was necessary to utilise such opportunities.

Dr. V.N. Bajpai, Director, I.T.S. Mohan Nagar, delivered the welcome address. Dr Bajpai alluded to the fact that it was a very compelling topic. Conditions in India were in place for an economic boom, but there was need for caution with regard to the bumpy road ahead.

Dr Rajeev Johari, Convener of the Convention, provided an overview of the day’s events. He also took the opportunity to trace out the evolution of the Convention since its beginning in 2018.

Dr Gupta provided facts and figures reflecting the current state of affairs with regard to the economy. He also referred to the startup revolution in India and relevance of SDGs.

Finally, Dr Ratna provided an illuminating portrait of the economic challenges facing India. Responding to questions from the students, he threw some light on issues like economic diversification, climate change and digital inclusion.

It was a very realistic yet thought provoking start to the day’s proceedings. It ended with the promise of more vistas of knowledge in the succeeding sessions.

Panel Discussion I

The participants in the first panel discussion included Mr. Priya Ranjan, Chief General Manager of Steel Authority of India; Mr. Amlesh Sinha, Vice President of MakeMyTrip; Mr. Manglesh Yadav, Program Director of Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Ayog; and Dr. Moonis Shakeel, Professor of Economics, Jamia Millia Islamia.

The session was focused on MSME, entrepreneurship, innovation, and startups. The event began with all the guests being welcomed with plant saplings by the dignitaries like Honourable Vice Chairman Shri. Arpit Chadha, Director I.T.S School of Management Dr.Timira Shukla,  Dr. Bajpai and Dr. Johari.

Dr. Shakeel set the ball rolling by enlightening the audience about the chosen theme. Mr. Yadav felt that the conditions of the country are very conducive for opening of startups. Noting that 84,000 start-ups have been registered, he mentioned various policies that are coming up in this regard. Mr. Priya Ranjan addressed the agenda for the event as a fusion of two topics, viz.- global reset along with economic reset. Mr. Sinha had the final word when he talked about how things have become automated with machine learning and data science.

The session was quite interactive as the participants asked several relevant questions that were answered to their satisfaction. It concluded with the presentation of mementos as a token of appreciation and gratitude. Overall, it was indeed a very insightful and thoughtful session, which enthused the students.

Panel Discussion II

The second panel discussion of the Convention was held in a hybrid mode. The discussants in this session were: Mr. Anand Mirani, Director, Simplus Exim Corporate Advisory, LLP; Dr. Sandeep Poddar, Dy. Vice Chancellor, Lincoln University, Malaysia; Prof. Vivek Nagpaul, Chairman Euro-Asian University & Career Network, Netherlands; and Mr. Wimon Pukong, Institute for Trade & Development, Bangkok, Thailand.

At the outset, Mr. Anand Mirani, Director, Simplus Exim Corporate Advisory, LLP dwelt on the ‘reset’ aspect. He explained how this is necessary for the developing economy and what it entailed.  He also touched upon the use of modern technology in shaping the future of the economy.

The second speaker was Dr. Sandeep Poddar, Dy. Vice Chancellor, Lincoln University, Malaysia. In his opening remarks Dr. Poddar drew attention to the UN Sustainability Goals for 2030. He emphasised on the various aspects of technology in exploring solutions. According to him the use of ICT gave new dimension to Industry 5.0.  

Prof. Nagpaul highlighted the reset aspect of innovation. In his view, technology gave better solutions to the customers. He emphasised on the need for collaboration.  In his opinion India holds lots of opportunities for youngsters. His parting shot to the management students was about cherishing ‘ethical business’.

 Finally, Mr. Wimon Pukong from Thailand used his research paper to underline the role of e-commerce as the driving engine for career promotion and service. He also covered the agri sector, industrial and logistics development in the Thai Economy through the use of IT.

As the programme drew to an end, the panellists were thanked on behalf of the ITS, with virtual plaques being provided as a token of gratitude and appreciation. The gathered audience including the students marvelled at the fruitful discussions and depth of knowledge sharing.

Guest Lecture on "Hire ability: Skills-based approach in Corporates" for MBA (2022-24) Batch

I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Department of Management organized a Guest Lecture on "Hire ability: Skills-based approach in Corporates" for MBA (2022-24) Batch on December 14, 2022, by Ms. Priti Shroff Singh, Master Corporate Trainer and Motivational Speaker. 

Ms. Priti talked about competencies like communication, conflict resolution, and problem solving underpin almost every facet of business operations. She gave a deep insight of the skills required to be hired in companies and the ways to improve the hire ability. She also explained the importance of appropriate profile updation on social media platforms like LinkedIn, etc. She explained that across organizations, in every business unit and employee role, soft skills are crucial for gaining new clients, improving customer service metrics, and building a stronger team dynamic. She talked about the importance of effective communication at the workplace. She also gave tips and guidelines for attending HR interviews and what companies expect from candidates were also dealt with in detail. 
Many frequently asked questions and the effective answers for those questions were discussed in detail.
Overall, the session was highly interactive and informative for the participants.

Department of Management I.T.S, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad organized a Corporate Talk for MBA (2022-24) Batch by Mr.Saurabh Jain, Founder, Fun2Do Labs& Ex Vice President PAYTM on the topic“Startup Masterclass" on 12th December, 2022.

 

Mr. Saurabh has mentioned that for any entrepreneur, the route from idea to established business is a long and winding one. He said that every business starts with something. It might be an idea, a thing, a world-changing product or a smart enhancement to something which already exists. 

Mr Saurabh also added that whether inspired by a compelling dream or mounting exasperation with the products currently available, before departing on the entrepreneurial journey, it is worth being reminded of the sometimes harsh rules of the road that most opportunities are not what they appear to be.

Most of them have at least one fatal flaw that renders them vulnerable to all sorts of difficulties to overcome this Mr. Jain has emphasized to have 5 steps process for the entrepreneurial journey- Having Right mindset,Being honest, Don’t try to be someone else, finding a mentor & partner and putting 100% commitment.

The session was very participative. There were various queries from the student’s side, regarding the entrepreneurship, venture capital, idea generation etc. The Session was concluded by honouring Mr. Saurabh Jain with a virtual plaque and a vote of thanks

MCA Fresher’s Party ESPERANZA-2022

ESPERANZA - 2022, a fresher’s welcome party for MCA(2022-24 Batch) was organized on 11th December, 2022 at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad campus.

The event was formally inaugurated with Lamp Lighting before Goddess Saraswati by Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey,Director-IT, Prof. Puja Dhar, Chairperson MCA Programme, Prof. Smita Kansal, Coordinator MCA Programme and faculty members of department of IT. 

While addressing the students, Dr. Sunil, Kr. Pandey, Director-IT greeted the students and said that such events provide opportunity to come closure, understand each other and increase long lasting emotional bonding between Juniors and Seniors. Dr. Pandey said that in this competitive world, it is important to be focused, dedicated and committed towards the goal. He also congratulated the Faculty Coordinators and Student Coordinators for taking initiative and organization such events.

Thereafter several cultural activities were organized by the senior batch of MCA Programme. These included solo song, solo dance, ramp walk, poems, Sher-o-Shyre, fashion show, etc. All the students of MCA I and II year enthusiastically participated in various activities. These performances were assessed by a panel of Jury members comprising of Prof. K.P.  Singh and Prof. Chanchal Prabha.

Towards the end of the cultural programme, based on the recommendation of members of jury members on their performance in ramp walk and question answer round, names of Ms. And Mr. Fresher from newly admitted batch of MCA were announced. Mr. Nishant & Ms. Tanisha respectively were adjudged as Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher. Based on the recommendation of members of jury members on their performance in the activities,  Ms. Tanisha Rohilla was adjudged as Show Steller.  The event was anchored by Mr. Mrudul Mahesh and Ms. Priya Kumari, students of II year. 

The event was followed by DJ and Snacks. All the students and faculty members were present during the event.

Management Department at I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad organised Inception 22 Fresher Pety  to welcome new Batch of MBA 2022-24 on 9th December 2022
 

The program commenced with ceremonial lamp lighting and Ganesh Vandana performed by MBA-I Year Students

Dr. V.N Bajpai Director I.T.S congratulated the new batch and gave them good wishes for their future. He further stated that hard work and perseverance are the keys to success. Dr. Sunil Kumar Yadav, Chairperson MBA also blessed the new batch and emphasised how small steps taken now will be the building block for future.

The event witnessed some enthusiastic performances by MBA 2021 and 2022 batches. Group dances and Fashion shows were spectacular and simply mesmerised the audience.

Mohd. Zaki and Ms. Nidhi Chandra were Crowned as Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher respectively

The program was a huge success as it gave a great opportunity to both the batches for interaction as well as provided a platform for the new batch to showcase their talents. The program ended with gift distribution, DJ and high tea.

Guest Talk on Leveraging Social Media

Programming Club of Department of IT, Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a guest talk on Leveraging Social Media for students of MCA-I Year on 9th December, 2022.

Prof. Rakesh Roshan a well-known researcher and YouTuber was the resource person for the session. Total 49 students of MCA first year attended the session. In his talk, Mr. Roshan explained the correct usage of Social Media. What are the various security measures that one should consider while using the social media. How a student can grow career with social media. He told that Before social media, the traditional marketing and advertising options were limited to television commercials, magazines, catalogs, emails, newspapers, etc. While understandably, it’s impossible to reach everyone through any channel of marketing, social media has completely changed the narrative. It provides an opportunity to reach a unique audience that matches well with your service or product offered. Students liked the session a lot and asked a lot of questions related to the proper use of social media. All faculty members of Department of IT along with programming club coordinators were present in the session.

IIC Workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation

On 8th of December, 2022, the Institute Innovation Council at I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad organised a workshop on “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” for PG Management students at the Chanakya Auditorium.

The key resource person for the occasion was Mr V.K. Arora, CEO, Anvesan Foundation, IGTDUW. Dr Arora, who is associated with entrepreneurs, startups and incubation centres as well as institutes, universities and government departments in an advisory and handholding capacity, has been a frequent visitor to the IIC at ITS earlier as well.

The workshop opened with Dr V.N. Bajpai, Director, I.T.S Mohan Nagar, pointing out the difference between discovery, invention and innovation to the assembled students. He exhorted the students to follow their own dreams, whether it be with regard to their career or business aspirations. Dr Bajpai provided valuable inputs to the youngsters on how they could gainfully utilise the two years that they are spending on the campus to develop themselves.

In her address, Dr Timira Shukla, Director, ITS School of Management, continued the same message. She explained the difference between entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, and also highlighted the increasing role being played by technology. She called upon the learners in the audience to raise their game by adding tangible skills while remaining updated on current occurrences in the corporate world.

Dr Arora began by referring to the increasing disruptions in industry. He emphasised on the changing nature of business, opining that in a globalising world, it is local production and consumption which holds the key. Stressing on having a job oriented mindset, he described how a young population provided India with a major strategic advantage.

Coming to the role of entrepreneurs, Dr Arora spoke of a supportive corporate environment with diverse incubating systems. He discussed how in the current competitive situation it was virtually impossible to move ahead without innovations.

As a whole the session was very interactive and encouraging. The students had several questions regarding entrepreneurial skills and the challenges for new startups. The event concluded with presentation of a plaque to Dr Arora by Dr Bajpai as a token of gratitude and appreciation.

New Delhi, responsible for all India institutional sales and business development services and support for the capital market, capitalize corporate database & web content services used by a wide gamut of finance professionals, academicians, Research scholars, media houses, and corporates.

Firstly, Mr. Subhash Kumar familiarized students with how to use the capitaline database website procedure. Then he gave a brief note on the information available on the platform. He said there were 57000 companies worldwide, 322 industries,82 sectors, and 500+ business houses available. Then he further explained how organizations like CRISIL, ICRA, CBRE, and DELLOITE used capitalized data to supervise their customers. Then he talked about the importance of corporate governance and the annual year performance of the company. He also explained how capitalization helps researchers and stock traders with current data.

He ended the workshop by giving students all the knowledge about the financials of various companies and how to create insights for their assignments.

Workshop on “Research Support Services Using E-Resource”

Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a workshop on “Research Support Services Using E-Resource” for the participants of the MBA(2022-24) Batch on December 6, 2022.
 

The expert for the session was Mr. Sanjay Rajan, Senior Trainer and Consulting Partner in ProQuest, part of CLARIVATE for the last six years. He has more than 14+ years of experience in information. He is also leading PQDT and ETD products globally from the CX side.

Mr. Sanjay Rajan mainly focused on the term “Awareness”. Then he introduced his website “ProQuest” which is an e-book platform where students can access E-Books related to management and other fields. Then he explained the procedure of login into the websites. He also shared how learners can increase their level of information and enhance their productivity. Students who want to become researchers in the future have used this website for reading journals, citations, magazines, and research papers. He also explained how the information available on the websites helps students to crack interviews. He further said that there is a current affair column also available where students can update themselves. Then he also shared interesting examples from Indian mythological Mahabharat characters where he talked about learnings of KARNA and ARJUNA which interests students a lot.

He ended the workshop by giving knowledgeable insights to students about management research and learning.

Towards the conclusion of the workshop, he welcomed intriguing questions from students and answered them comprehensively.

The expert for the session was Mr. Lakhpat Singh, Training Manager at EBSCO information services, New Delhi.

Mr. Lakhpat Singh shared his views about qualitative and authentic literature reviews, summaries, articles, journals, citation, and other reading materials which is available on EBSCO websites. He explained how students related to different managerial fields can enhance their knowledge by reading quality stuff available on the websites. Then he further shared information about the books to different managerial specializations such as HR, Marketing, Finance, IT, and Operations and he also explained to students how to filter the available E-books according to their interest areas. He encouraged students in the research field and told them how the EBSCO website helps students to write research papers, citations, and dissertations. He further explained the importance of authentic data backed by government websites and trustworthy resources in research. He also compared India’s positions with other countries in the world and gave insights about how India is lacking behind in the areas of authentic research then he ended the session by giving beautiful insight to students on how one can use, process, and register in EBSCO websites and use it effectively and efficiently.

The lecture ended with immense knowledge of E-Books and Research related material and how EBSCO helped learners to read books related to different areas.

Towards the conclusion of the session, he welcomed intriguing questions from students and answered them comprehensively. The session was highly interactive and participants appreciated the learnings delivered by the speaker.

Value added workshop on Business Analytics

I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Department of Management successfully organized a Value added Workshop on Business Analytics for MBA (2021-23) Batch on December 3, 2022 by Awake India, Noida.

 

 

The resource person for the Business Analytics workshop was Ms. Sudha, Expert Trainer, Business Analytics and Career Counselor. She talked about types of Business Analytics, Significance and usage of Business Analytics, Predictive Data and Data mining, Prescriptive analytics, Data visualization, Regression analysis, Structure and management of Data, Decision-making using Data, Computers and information technology, Data and information visualization, Management of Data, Main Software used in Business Analytic, etc.

A blend of experiential and participatory learning methods were employed during implementation of the workshop. Key among the methods used were demonstration, practice in computer labs. With knowledge on contents and experience, the key facilitator demonstrated hands-on skills, went through the training objectives with participants.

At the close of the workshop, participants used an online evaluation form to provide feedback about the workshop. 

Overall, participants were actively engaged, mostly individually, through training methodologies, and given sufficient time to try out and do practice. This workshop was coordinated by Prof. Shilpi Rana.

I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Department of Management successfully organized a Value added Workshop on HR Analytics for MBA (2021-23) Batch on December 1, 2022 by Awake India, Noida.

 

The resource person for HR Analytics workshop was Mr. Kapil who is a global certified HR Analyst, PCMM & ISO 27001:2013 with an extensive experience spread across a board spectrum of industries: Consulting (Aon), IT Services (HCL, BirlaSoft, NEC) in growth markets like USA, UK, Europe, Japan, Asia Pacific including India. 

He explained the use and benefits of Data Analytics in HR with examples of HR Analytics. He also talked about Quality Recruitment, Reduced Attrition Levels, Productive Workforce, Predictive Data Analytics, Popular HR Analytics Market Trends and HR Analytics Organizations, roles and responsibilities of an HR Analyst, etc.

A blend of experiential and participatory learning methods were employed during implementation of the workshop. Key among the methods used were demonstration, practice in computer labs. With knowledge on contents and experience, the key facilitators demonstrated hands-on skills, went through the training objectives with participants.
