“Software Requirement Poster Presentation Contest” for MCA

CSI Student Branch @I.T.S, Department of IT, I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a Software Requirement Poster Presentation Contest for MCA-2nd year Students on 5th November, 2022.

As these students are studying Software Engineering Lab and creating SRS document in their 3rd Semester. To create more interest in the subject and understanding this activity was planned.

Students displayed full enthusiasm while participating in this contest. Students of MCA-2nd year presented their SRS document and various architectural diagrams in form of poster.

These presentations were judged by MCA alumni of batch 2017-19 Mr. Nitin Prakash and Mr. Subhodip Pal & Faculty Dr. Vidushi Singh and Prof. Monika Kansal of Department of IT. Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey, Faculty members and all the judges appreciate the effort put by the students.

Wipro Certified Faculty training program

 Prof. K.P. Singh and Prof. Abhay Kumar Ray from Department of IT , I.T.S –Mohan Nagar  have successfully completed and became Wipro Certified Faculty  organized by Wipro (TalentNext)

after going through 06 Weeks Training and Comprehensive Assessment and an Mini Project  with Java MCQ based Assessment, Logic Building assessment and a Mini Project. The training program comprised of Wipro’s Project Based Learning framework in Java Full Stack (Java/J2EE) from 31st October to 25th Nov, 2022, which for all professors from different institutions from Pan-India.

This speaks about the quality of faculty at I.T.S who have always been in quest of self learning, self upgrade and keeping them relevant all the time all the time and at par with Industry standards.

Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey , Director IT congratulate Prof. K.P. Singh and Prof. Abhay Kumar Ray  and shared his happiness on this achievement.

Deepawali Celebration by Parivartan Club

As a CSR Initiative by I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad- “Parivartan – An Education program for underprivileged children” activity was organized in Sahibabad area, on October 21st, 2022. 

                                                    

The volunteers were students of PGDM (2022-24 batch). Day’s focus was on Deepawali celebration with underprivileged children of Sahibabad area. The student volunteers included Priya, Abhinav, Saloni & Harsa.

Among the volunteers Abhinav started the session by telling the importance of Deepawali festival according to Hindu mythology and calendar. After that Priya asked queries related to the said information by Aryan to confirm the proper transformation of the knowledge shared. Thereafter children sang hindi poem of Deepawali.

Saloni told the children that Deepawali is a festival of lights and forgiveness to come out from the darkness and negativity.

The session ended with the distribution of Kitkat chocolate, Cake Biscuits & Frooti among the children. Children thanked the institute for making their Deepawali special. 

Prof. Ashutosh Sharma accompanied and guided the student volunteers.

Industrial visit of MCA students to New Generation Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Center, EDII, DST, Govt, of India and MSME Business Incubation Center at I.T.S, Engineering College, Greater Noida

Institution Innovation Council at Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized an industrial visit for MCA I Semester students to New Generation Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Center, EDII, DST, Govt, of India and MSME Business Incubation Center at I.T.S, Engineering College, Greater Noida on 20th October, 2022 . Students were accompanied by faculty members of Department of I.T including Prof. Puja Saurabh Saxena and Prof. Smita Kansal.

 

The visit started with a workshop on “Cloud Computing & CISCO Technology”.  The resource person for the workshop were Dr. Vasudha & Prof. Arun from I.T.S Engineering College, Greater Noida. Students were also taken to the New Generation Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Center, EDII, DST, Govt.  of India and MSME Business Incubation Center.

Coordinator of Incubation Cell also took a session about start-up and how DST and MSME help students to become an Entrepreneur. Students also visited some of the live projects which were developed by the students under DST and MSME.

At the end of the visit Director, I.T.S Engineering College,  congratulated all the students for attending the workshop and also briefed about the working and objective of  New Gen Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Center and Incubation Center.

The visit was full of learning and enjoyment for the students.

Abhivinyas, the Orientation Program for 26thBatch of MCA Programme

Department of IT, I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized five days Orientation Programme for its newly, admitted 26thbatch of MCA (2022-2024) students from 15thto 20th October 2022.

 

The formal inauguration and opening ceremony for the MCA (2022-2024) batch was scheduled on 15th October 2022. Opening & Inaugural ceremony was formally inaugurated with the lamp lightning by Vice Chairman, I.T.S-The Education Group, Sh. Arpit Chadha, Director-PR, I.T.S- The Education Group, Sh. Surinder Sood, Chief Guest, Lt. Gen. Anil Malik , Guest of honour, Capt. Felix Mohan, Dr. Burzin P Bharucha, Advisor,Ernst & Young, Director(IT&UG), Dr.Sunil Kumar Pandey and  Coordinator-MCA, Prof. Smita Kansal.

While addressing the students Director-IT&UG, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that Department is proudly welcomes the 26th batch of MCA. He said that the department always provides the opportunity to students of MCA to work on Industry projects during their studies. He said that the Department of I.T. is fortunate to have eminent speakers from industry and academia who are addressing the new members of the MCA Programme during the Orientation Programme.

Sh. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S-The Education Group while addressing the gathering congratulated the department for celebrating & welcoming the 26th Batch of MCA. He said that students are fortunate to listen & meet the guests from the leading industries who will be sharing their experience and blessing them.

While addressing these newly admitted students, all the guests greeted them and advised as how they should plan and start their journey by being focused, study and find the ways to correlate and practice the technology learned, keep participating in various events, especially Hackathons, Programming Events etc. to keep assessing themselves and working on improving every day. Guests also emphasized on keep focus on understanding the fundamentals of the key areas including Data Structures, Database Management Systems, Cloud Technology, Software Engineering Principals, Mobile Applications Development and must develop the habits of keep proper documentation even in writing small programs. Overall, it was very interactive and a day with great learning and opportunity for students to interact with them.

On Day-2 of Orientation Program of newly admitted 26th Batch of MCA (2022-2024) students were addressed and blessed by Prof. M.M Pant, Former Pro Vice Chancellor, IGNOU and Maj. Gen Shashi Asthana, SM, VSM, Global Strategic and Military Analyst, Chief Instructor - USI of India, Ex. Addl. Director General of Infantry - Indian Army. During the addresses, the behavioural aspects and its importance in professional environment was explained. In his address Prof. Pant discussed various technological advancements including Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Programming environments were discussed.

On Day-3, Mr. Ved Prakash, NLP Coach, Founder,Program Your Mind interacted with the students of MCA(2022-24) batch. He discussed about the NLP which is an approach to communication and personal development that focuses on how individuals organise their thinking, feelings and language. He said that NLP has been used to assess and treat a variety of clinical symptoms, including depression, anxiety and stress.

Students of new batch also interacted with the MCA Alumni(Batch 2019-22), Mr. Vasu Sharma who discussed about the technical expectations of the corporate from the freshers. He also explained the basic fundamentals of Database and SQL which usually is asked during the recruitment process.

During the One Week Orientation Program Policy Makers of the Country, Top Industry Leaders, Entrepreneurs, Seasoned Academicians, Defence Experts, Researchers and renowned Motivational Speakers addressed and interacted with these newly admitted students. These students were sensitized with various Clubs of Dept. of IT, Entrepreneurship Cell and its activities, CSI Students Branch, Ice Breaking Sessions, Group Activitiesetc. were also planned during this One Week Orientation program.

National Conference on "Electric Mobility: Strengthening Eco System-The Way Forward" organized by ASSOCHAM

On 14th October 2022 Faculty members of IT Department including Prof. Puja Dhar and Prof. Saurabh Saxena along with the students of MCA 2nd year attended the National Conference on "Electric Mobility: Strengthening Eco System-The Way Forward" organized by ASSOCHAM at the hotel Shangri-La in New Delhi.

 

Shri Mahendra Nath Pandey Hon’ble Union Minister of Heavy Industry, Govt. of India, Major General V K Singh Hon’ble Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Govt. of India and Shri Suman Bery Vice Chairperson NITI Aayog were among the invited Government Dignitaries in the conference.

The key issues discussed in the conference were Centre And State Initiatives for EV Promotion , FAME-II policy , Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme , Adopting Best Practices EV Technology ,Setting Battery and Charging Infrastructure Right , Financing Issues and Partnership Opportunities ,Incentives, subsidy and financing challenges , Managing Challenges of Charging Infrastructure ,Digitization, Data Analytics, and Industry4.0 , Indian EVmarket and key trends , Investment opportunities, Assessment of Manufacturing Ecosystem ,Enabling ecosystem for electric mobility in India ,Battery Technology, Recycling & Disposal , Standardisation of batteries and Charging stations.

It was a new learning for all the students and faculty members.

“ARAMABH 2022”, the Orientation Programme for the 19th batch of MBA (2022-24) at I.T.S Ghaziabad

13th October, 2022, the 3rd day of Orientation Programme had an inspiring session on “Corporate Expectation from Budding Managers” by Mr. Sushil Aggarwal, Chairman, AVRO India Limited.

 

Mr. Sushil Aggarwal energised the students with some exercises and discuss business scenario in prevailing VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) world. During the session, he spoke on how technology (AI, ML, and IOT) is changing society and affecting the business. The speaker enchanted the students with use of amazing audio and video exercises. He concentrated on the potential advantages of keeping a positive outlook during difficult times. He offered students suggestions for their future endeavours.

The three-hour session featured questions from the audience, applause, youth mentorship and guidance activities.The students found the event to be enriching and very enjoyable. Group photos of student with Mr. Sushil Aggarwal marked the conclusion of the session

Mind & Memory Management session for MBA Students

The 2nd Day of “AARAMBH- 2022”, orientation programme for the 19th batch of MBA students had a stimulating session on “Mind & Memory Management”. The session speaker was Mr. Ved Prakash NLP Coach & Founder, Program Your Mind.

 

 

The session began with sharing the significance of “Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)” for attaining success. Mr. Ved Prakash highlighted the relevance of success in students’ life and how they can carve their way to be amongst the top 5% of highly successful people and most importantly how they can be self-satisfied with their life.Further he elaborated the process of NLP and its usage. He differentiated the meaning of brain and mind, briefed about neuro linguistic programming and highlighted different ways to cancel out negativity and develop positivity within mind. He conceptualised different applications of brain and mind and informed the students of various trips and tricks which can assist them in reprogramming their minds.

He tried to stimulate and inspire the participants towards learning and integrate their knowledge and skill of NLP into their life. Learning outcomes of the session was quite high as students enjoyed throughout the session & openly participated, discussed their life goals with the resource person and showed enthusiasm to work towards achieving them.

Inaugural Session of "Aarambh 2022"

The inaugural session of “Aarambh 2022”, the Orientation Programme for the 19th batch of MBA students, was organised at the Chanakya Auditorium of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad on October 11, 2022.

 

The ceremony was inaugurated with ceremonial lamp lighting by the Vice Chairman, I.T.S - The Education Group, Shri Arpit Chadha, Chief Guest Mr. Mudit Agarwal Founder & CEO Agrim Tech Services Ex. CIO, UFLEX; Guest of Honour Mr. Neerajh Malikk Chief Business Officer Aptech Ltd. CEO, Pursue Ed.;Guest of Honour Ms. Rimsha Shahid Assistant Director- HR Acuity Knowledge Partners; Director I.T.S Prof. (Dr.) V. N. Bajpai and Chairperson MBA Program, Dr. Sunil Kumar Yadav.

The ceremony began with the welcome speech followed by overview of I.T.S- The Education Group by Dr. V. N. Bajpai. Further, Dr. Sunil Kumar Yadav, outlined the different activities of the orientation program.

Sh. Arpit Chadha addressed the students and inspired them to achieve excellence in life. He pointed out the significance of faculty- student interaction in building of any institution.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Mudit Agarwal emphasised on honesty, networking and persistent efforts as key success mantra.

The Guest of Honour Mr. Neerajh Malikk exhorted the budding managers to seize the chance presented by hardship. He shared with the students 10 commandments that are essential for the professional growth.

The other Guest of Honour of the day, Ms. Rimsha Shahid, provided insightful explanations on problem-solving abilities, soft skills, and collaboration.The inaugural program was closed with the national anthem.

Excursion Trip to Pratap Garh Farms for MCA Students

Department of IT organized one day Excursion Trip for MCA Students to Pratap Garh Farms, Jajjar, Haryana on 11th October, 2022. Students were also accompanied with Faculty members of Department of I.T. On the arrival, students had a royal welcome by live folk musician dancers dressed up in their Rajasthan costumes.

Students enjoyed many fun, sports activities outdoor and indoor including different rides like Camel ride, Camel cart ride, Bullock cart ride, Tractor ride. There were many Ethnic Games including Gilli Danda, Pithoo, Lattoo, Kanche goli, Archery, Gulel (sling shot), Dart shooting, Air gun shooting, Kushti, Kabbadi, Kite flying, Tug of war. Students also enjoyed some sports including Cricket, Soccer, Volleyball and Badminton, Croquet, Trampoline jumping, Basketball, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Ludo and Snakes and ladders were also.

The day was also enjoyed with some adventure activities including Tyre Tunnel, Tyre Hopping, Balancing Beam, Commando Net, Commando Net Travers Wall, Tyre Travers Wall, Double Rope Bridge, Swinging Burma Bridge, Happy Hopper, Double Block Swing, Hanging Tyre Travers, Inverted A Rope Bridge, Tyre Balance Bridge, Zig Zag Walk, Cat Walk, Swinging Timber Log, V Bridge, Elephant Walk, Tyre Swing Walk, Swinging Plank, Swinging Squares.

The farm was also having some unique activities including

Rural Domestic activities: Rural Kitchen – participate with rural women and menfolk in their colorful attires – cooking on hearth, pounding grain, grinding grains, making ghee and butter millk, Panihari Chaal (balancing water pails), Charkha weaving.

Rural Creative Activities: Pottery, mud lep (applying mud paste to houses) and painting frescoes on mud walls, matka painting.

Agriculture and Dairy Activities: Tending goats, cows, buffaloes and goats, ploughing, sowing, reaping, winnowing.

Students were also served with different varieties of food and soft drinks. At the end of day students enjoyed DJ Music, Been and Dholki Dance.

The day was full of enjoyment, fun and excitement for Students of MCA.

Staff Development Programme on the topic “Understanding Workplace (Managing Change & Stress)"

I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a “Staff Development Programme" (SDP) on 30th September 2022

 

on the topic “Understanding Workplace (Managing Change & Stress)”. The resource persons for this SDP were Dr. Sanjeev Tandon and Prof. Shilpi Rana. The presence of Dr. V.N. Bajpai (Director) had added grace to the occasion. He spoke about the significance of the SDP and the relevance of the topic in the present work- life scenario. He stressed on the fact that change is an inevitable aspect of any academic institution. He highlighted the importance of team and individual in the changing environment.
The SDP started with an activity being administered to the participants by Prof. Shilpi. It was an exercise to make the participants comfortable and to enable them to gel with one another. The
discussion on change and the strategies adopted by the participants to mitigate that change was introduced by Dr. Sanjeev. 

Participants shared their incidences of change and how that change induced stress in their life. Various causes of stress at the workplace and how to deal with that stress was discussed. Levels of stresses were discussed and the stress management techniques were elaborated by the resource persons. 

The SDP ended with a meditation technique, where participants were instructed to close their eyes and imagine good things (location or place or incidence). Breathing exercises were subsequently administered to calm their minds. A video of “The Steps in Stress Management Process” was also shown to the group.

Overall, it was a learning session for the participants, where they could derive and gain solace with participative knowledge sharing on this burning topic. The SDP was attended by participants from various departments of the institute.

Utthan Club Activity- Talent Hunt

Utthan, a CSR initiative of Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad, organised a "Talent Hunt"  activity for the government school students on September 23 2022. The students were quite enthusiastic during the activity to showcase their hidden talents.  

Faculty Coordinators, Prof. Nitin Saxena and Prof. Shilpi Rana along with student volunteers of Utthan Club of PGDM (2021-23) batch coordinated the session.

Some students recited the Poems; many of them performed dances on different songs. Students of class 1 to 3 gave beautiful presentations on different topics. Best 3 performances were awarded with exciting gifts. Students were also taken to the Computer labs where they were taught about powerpoint presentations and its different slide designs.

At the end, all the students were given refreshments.

FDP on the topic "Building Institutional Resilience through Team Building and Leadership”

Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad organised a Faculty Development Program on the topic "Building Institutional Resilience through Team Building and Leadership” for faculty members of management department on Thursday, 15th September, 2022 in the campus. 

Prof. Shilpi Rana, Prof. Shikha Aggarwal and Prof. Smita Barik were the resource persons. The objective of the activity was to enhance the spirit of team building & leadership among the faculty colleagues. It also develops positive perception towards other members in the group. This activity mainly focused on coordination, improving analyzing skill and to enable quick decision making within a group. 

The FDP was conducted in 3 different rounds and all the rounds were based on fun games. The program was initiated with the ice breaking activity namely "Symon Says". The next round of activity was "Cape Exercise" in which all the participants were asked to write the positive things about each faculty on the chart paper worn by the faculty participants. In the last round, participants were divided into teams of two in which one participant was to be blind folded and another team member played the role of instructor. The winners of the last round were awarded with gifts.

The program was enriching for the participants and was very much appreciated by all.

During the Summit, Amazon Redshift ML was also introduced and many Government projects were also discussed in this summit. . The whole day was new learning and discussion on the applications of Cloud.

MBA students participated in National Stock Mock competition

The students of M.B.A at Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad participated in National Stock Mock competition organized by B School Bulls from 5th September to 9th September 2022.

 

B School Bulls, Govt of India approved start up has been established with a mission to inspire and equip business, commerce and management students to learn about the Capital Market and gain a deeper understanding of the business world.

This competition provided a virtual platform for the students where they were trading with virtual currency. This helped the students to learn the nuances of the stock market without actually taking any financial risk.

The participants were given virtual money of Rs. 20,000 to develop their dummy portfolio from stock listed on NSE for five consecutive days.

A total of 11 students of MBA III Semester participated and learnt the techniques of share trading. All the students received Certificates of Participation.

Shubham Kumar was awarded with First Prize along with a Cash prize of Rs. 10,000. Overall, the students had a wonderful learning experience
