Dr.Sunil Kumar Pandey ( Director – IT) selected for prestigious Awards for IT Professionals "Next100 CIO Award - 2017" conferred by IT Industry and received on 1st December, 2017 at Hotel Taj Swarna, Amritsar organized by 9Dot9 Media Group & IT Next in association with leading IT Companies including Google, IBM, Sophos etc. 
He received the award from Shri VS Parthasarthy, Group CFO & Group CIO - Mahindra & Mahindra. During the event he also participate in various activities including - Idea Cafe Session, Working with team on suggesting Solution Framework for a wonderful Case Study on Smart Cities, Workshops & and Round Table discussions. Prof. Puja Dhar, Prof. Smita Kansal, Dr. Vidushi Singh, Prof. Saurabh Saxena, Prof. Chandramani Sharma, Mr. Balmukund and Ms. Babita along with MCA students visited TV Today Group leading event "Sahitya Aajtak" on 10th November 2017.Sahitya Aajtak Event organized by TV Today Network at Indira Gandhi Center of Arts, New Delhi from 10th-12thNovember 2017.

Programme was started with welcome address preceded by Ghum Hote Bhajan Aur Ghazal.Shri Anup Jalota and Shri Talat Azizsings very renowned songs, ghazals and bhajanson stage in the program Ghum Hote Bhajan Aur Ghazal. Ms.Anjana Om Kashyapwas the anchor for the session. She has interacted very well with the legends of Indian musical industry.

After this Ghum Hote Bhajan Aur GhazalShri Sanjay Sinha's Book was released by Shri Neelesh Misra.

Mr. Neelesh Mishra- a renowned writer, lyricist and story teller was also invited in the session. He has recited one story on the stage in the programme Ek Kissa Sunao

Ms. Anjana Om Kashyap - well known leading & respected Journalist, and News Anchor at Aajtak Channel interacted face to face with our MCA students. It really inspires young students to meet people who have created their own place & respect in society & excelling professionally.Students were very happy and come forward to meet and speak such legends.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

3rd December, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a precautionary session on ‘Health, Hygiene and Winters’.
Volunteers of the day Nirja Rani, Robin Chouhan, Varun Arora, Harshvardhan, Tanuj Tyagi, Madhulika Kumari, Meenakshi Singh Tomar, Anumeha Srivastava, Bikram Parajuli, George Rudolf Henry and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer and informed the children about the session scheduled for the day.

The Talk of the Day was on ‘Health, Hygiene and Winters’ during which the children were told about the pros and cons of each weather with special emphasis on winters. The significance and precautions for winters were elaborated for the children with examples. The PGDM volunteer George told them that bathing should not be avoided in winters too unless one is sick. He told them that irregular washing of hair may lead to dandruff. The children were also informed of the benefits of Tulsi, Ginger, fruits, jiggery, green vegetables and other healthy stuff available during winters which gives us warmth, nutrients and countless other good effects.
The children were also told that bathing with hot water may lead to various health issues like – drop in blood pressure, dizziness, nausea, dry skin, wrinkles, hair-fall etc. Therefore, we should bathe with lukewarm water only.
At the end of the talk, a short quiz was conducted. Those who responded correctly to the questions asked were felicitated with on the spot prizes.
The class concluded with the distribution of Crax Curls and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.

ICSME -2017 at New Delhi

Abhay Kumar Ray and Balmukund Singh attended the first day of “21st International Conference on SMEs (ICSME) on “Achieving inclusive and sustainable industrialization by promoting SMEs” at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Delhi on Thursday, 30th Nov 2017. This conference also included WASME SME Excellence Awards to celebrate the Success Stories of worldwide SMEs who have scored big through innovative thinking, operational efficiency, futuristic strategies, smart marketing, business growth, contribution to employment generation and exports besides setting new benchmarks in product & service innovation. Total 12 awards was given in this event in which 9 awards secured by the Indian SMEs in field of Search engine optimization, Mobile application development, online share trading, Website hosting and services.

The Chief Guest of inaugural session of this event was Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu Hon’ble Vice President, India and the Chief Guest of Second session was Mr. Shiv Pratap Shukla, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Finance , Government of Inda said that the small entrepreneurs across India deserve greater recognition for their significant contribution to the Indian economy. He also said, The SME sector plays a very important role in Indian economy, be it boosting growth rate or giving a push to exports and manufacturing. He also addressed the different schemes of Government of India about the funding to the SME sector and its supporting channels.
This conference was very useful and motivating a medium to make network with new companies and this conference was also useful for our students to know the different schemes of funding for SMEs to become successful entrepreneur.

Dr. Dhruv & Dr. Charu attended 1st National PSU HR Conference.

Dr D. K. Pandey and Dr Charu Chaudhry, Faculty at Department of Management Studies, ITS, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad attended the first National PSU HR Conference on the theme “ Science of putting people first” organized on November 30, 2017 and December 1, 2017 by SHRM India at SCOPE complex, New Delhi. The two day conference was specifically aimed at Human Resource Practices of PSUs and how to leverage them in framing better policies and business strategies.

The conference managed to take a multi-dimensional look at relevant HR issues with experts from academia, HR personnel’s at leading PSU’s & policy makers. Perspectives shared by experts like DP Singh, Vice President & Head HR, IBM India & South Asia; Abhijit Bhaduri, founder, Abhijit Bhaduri & Associates; DD Mishra, Director HR, ONGC; Saptarishi Roy, Director HR, NTPC; Dr A K Balyan, CEO, Oil & Gas, Reliance Infrastructure, Mukesh Jain Joint Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Govt. of India added lot of value to the conference theme and helped the participants in understanding how to overcome the challenges in PSUs with respect to policy frameworks.

Expert deliberations focused upon differing priorities for Public Sector Organizations globally, how to build and sustain a world class PSU in India, Coaching and Mentoring as tools for succession planning, attracting and retaining millennial in PSUs, ways to leverage CSR for building the PSU employer brand and make use of HR technology to improve HR processes in PSUs. The conference also explored the role played by PSUs in Nation building and their contribution towards sustainability efforts.

The speakers emphasized on ensuring balance among technology, decisions and people for any organizational development. People need to be developed in order to address the paucity of skilled workforce. PSUS can’t imitate private sector practices or what other Public sector enterprises are doing in western countries. They need to explore their own policy frameworks and there should be no hesitation in adopting any best practice (no matter from where it comes) which has already delivered the result.

A special talk delivered by expert from Deloitte, Mr Nitin Razdan widened the participants’ perspective related to the future of work and the evolving role of learning organizations. The second day post lunch session of conference gave an opportunity to participants to experience music and understand key business lessons with expertise of Ms Sunita Bhuiyan. The sessions also focused upon how to drive change in the organization within limitations by understanding the analogy of evolving music with same seven notes and rhythm.

Panel discussions, special talks and group sessions at the conference enriched the participants with current HR practices, challenges and possible solution in PSU sector.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

26th November, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a practical session on Computer Skills.
Volunteers of the day Himanshi Sharma, Khushnuma Siddiqui, Nisha, Meghal Jain, Surbhi Jaiswal, Vidhi Yadav, Ghulam Ahmad Raza, Ankit Singh, Shubham Chaudhary, Komal Goyal, George Rudolf Henry and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer and informed the children about the session scheduled for the day.

The Talk of the Day was on ‘Computer Skills’ during which the children were told about the importance of computer in countless day-to-day jobs. The main parts of computer – CPU, Monitor, Mouse and Keyboard – were explained in detail with the mention of their main functions. The volunteers also talked about the Laptop as a compact computer and showed them the actual laptop. At the end of the talk, the practical started. One by one, each child was invited to type his/her name in MS Word on laptop. This was perhaps for the first time that they had an access to a real computer. That is why each one of them was overwhelmed and excited for his/her turn.
At the end of the theory and the practical sessions, a short quiz was conducted. Those who responded correctly to the questions asked were felicitated with on the spot prizes. Volunteer Shubham Chaudhary had brought Five Star Chocolates for the slum buds which were distributed among them as prizes.
The class concluded with the distribution of biscuits and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.

25th November, 2017, was indeed a day of celebration, felicitation and recognition at ITS Mohan Nagar. The day commenced with the Inaugural session with eminent illuminaries to grace the session.
We had Mr. Rajat Mukarji , Chief Corporate Officer, Idea Cellular ( Man who made Idea the brand it is today) as our Jury Head, who set the ball rolling for Utkrisht Marketing Awards. His address was followed by the address by Guest of honor, Mr. R G Agarwal, CMD, Dhanuka Agritech who endorsed the importance of hard work and sincerity.

The Marketing Club-Mercato organized “LUMOSITY” for MBA students.

Objective: The objective behind these activities was to enhance their marketing and group dynamics skills. The students were grouped in four as a team and were asked to complete the given task.
1. Memory Game- 30 logos and tag lines of different companies were provided to the team and they pasted it on the paper on memory based skills.
2. Promote your product- In this each team consisted of two members, each group had to create advertisement about the given product through role play.
3. Extempore- In this each team had to speak up for two minutes on the given topic of marketing.
They had to complete the task in given time and were judged on the parameters of performance which required the skills of memorizing, synthesizing and finalizing content.
It was the first club event for MBA 1st Year and they displayed great enthusiasm and team spirit. Students have shown their willingness for such future activities which may further enhance their learning and enrich their experience.

METANOIA- HR Club of I.T.S Ghaziabad organized, “FUSION - POWER WITH PEOPLE” (TOGETHER TOWARDS TOMORROW) for MBA (2017 – 19) batch on 22nd November, 2017. This team activity was designed to apprise the participants about importance of co-ordination and trust amongst the members when working in a team. The excitement of the participants and audience was visible throughout the event. The event comprised of three rounds
 Round I – IDENTIFY THE ITEM:
In this particular game each team comprised of two students. The participants of each group had to identify the items placed in 6 bowls. The items consisted of some alphabets and colours.The two team members hand to stand at opposite ends of the table and from their respective positions they had to remember and pen down the right sequence of the order in which the items were placed. Form this round, 8 teams got selected for the next round.
 

ROUND II – PYRAMID MAKING
In this round two teams were called simultaneously on stage and were asked to make the pyramid with the coloured cups. They had to make that pyramid in the particular sequence of colours in a given time frame of 2mins for each team (green, blue, red, black and pink). 5 teams got selected for the last and the final round.
 Round III – RIGHT CHOICE, BEST CHOICE:
In this round, a quiz was conducted and the questions from various fields (sports,politics,management,banking etc.)were identified for this purpose. After finishing of the third round three groups were declared as the winning teams.
The winners of the event were:
· 1st – Ashi and Vikas (Sec-A)
· 2nd – Vishal and Disha (Sec-B)
· 3rd – Vaishali and Komal (Sec-A)

Corporate Talk by Mr Lokesh Mehra, Director (Education), Millionlights.

The Research Development Cell (RDC) had organised a Corporate Talk on 21st November 2017. The speaker of the day was Mr Lokesh Mehra, Director (Education), Millionlights. The session was mainly intended for the first year students of PGDM and MBA (2017-19) Batch.
Mr. Mehra began by tracing out the transition of technology down the ages. Highlighting the role of education here, he pointed out that in India there was a big gap between what was needed in industry, and the training that was provided at different educational institutes.
Coming to technology Mr Mehra spoke of SMAC I.e., Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud. He referred to the burgeoning market for mobile technology in the country, noting that there were more one million mobile connections in India. He mentioned the benefits of storing data in the cloud, explaining the advent of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS).

To make the interaction topical, he brought in areas like Digital India and smart cities, which are all the rage in our country right now. Coming to the consumerisation of IT, he focussed on VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) as a means of dealing with a constantly changing market.
The last part of the session was devoted to the current job market and what the students could do to carve their own space in it. He mentioned companies working as aggregators (Ola, Uber, etc), the Internet of Things, etc. He concluded by summarising some of the keywords to success.
Finally Mr Mehra dealt with questions from the students regarding the path to be taken for their future careers.
It was an engrossing and informative session for all concerned. All present were full of praise for the talk. Students were so enthused by it that they kept asking for the next opportunity to interact with Mr Mehra.

Merit & Improvement Award Ceremony for MBA Students.

Management Department of Institute organized a merit and Performance award ceremony for MBA 2016-18 batch on 21st November, 2017. Ceremony was started with motivating speech of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director Management, he discussed that how small achievements of life cumulatively become big for future. He congratulates all awardees and their parents for the success of their wards.

Shri Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman- I.T.S The Education Group, addressed the students & revealed the importance of competition amongst students. He motivated students to have the spirit of competition amongst them & how success changes itself with passage of time. Parents of the award winners also joined their wards during the ceremony for receiving the award
Students were awarded in three categories. These categories were:
• Top 10 rankers in MBA II Semester external exams.
• Top 10 improvements in MBA II semester over MBA I semester external exams.
• Top 10 rankers in MBA I Year.
A total number of 30 students were awarded under above categories. The awardees were rewarded with certificate Followed by a Hi-Tea for Parents & Awardees.

Excursion cum Industrial visit to Nainital & Jim Corbett for MBA (2016-18) students.

I.T.S organized an industrial cum leisure 3 days trip to Jim Corbett, Nainital and Mohan on 17th to 19th November 2017.
On 16th November, 2017 at 11:50 pm, 63 (MBA-IIIrd Sem) students of ITS, Ghaziabad along with 2 faculties, Prof parul Gupta, Prof. Ankur Ahuja and a doctor (Dr. Rajeev) started the journey to Jim Corbett by bus. Everybody was welcomed at the Resort at 8:30 am on 17th November, 2017. The students enjoyed pool, table tennis and swings at the resort. The adventurous trip took a kick off with some team building activities like river crossing, Rock Climbing & Flying Fox etc. Students thoroughly enjoyed the activities and thereafter everybody proceeded to the Holy temple of Maa Girzia. Students enjoyed the music & DJ in resort.

Next day (18th November, 2017) everybody left for Nainital after having breakfast at 9:00am which was around 2 hrs drive from Ramnagar. Before Nanital they take halt at Corbett Fall and enjoyed the natural fall and dense jungle adventure. While enjoying the scenic beauty of the queen of hills the students played antakshari, dumb shall arts. Students were given 3 hours to enjoy and shop. The students admired the wax candles, Rope way, Naina Devi mandir, Mall Road & Zoo for which Nainital is famous. After returning from the Nanital at around 8 pm, the students gathered together for Bon fire, students enjoyed the bon fire by singing songs, few students done standup comedy and had a gala time. Even after such a tiring day, the students enjoyed themselves till late.
Jeep safari to Jim Corbett was scheduled for 19th November 2017. All the students woke up at 5:00 am to explore the jeep safari. All students in a group of 8 went for safari in the jungle. After the safari, everybody headed back to the resort and finally checked out to return back to the college. Students were also taken for an industrial visit to ISPAT Industries (Himalya Sariya), Students learned how scrap gets recycled in fresh iron, what are the basic things they need to consider while running an industry, and students enquired how they deal with labour problems. There students got an opportunity to interact with first generation entrepreneur. The visit ended with a group photograph.
Finally the students reached the college at 11:00 pm on 19th November 2017 with magnificent memories and learning and bonding of friendship and with this a memorable and fun filled trip came to an end.
