Young Talent Hunt – 2018.

I.T.S PG Management Campus witnessed an exemplary success of Grand Finale Young Talent Hunt- 2018 - Inter college Quiz Series on 23rd February, 2018 with a huge participation of 302 students from 53 colleges of Delhi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Hapur, Pilkhuwa, Babugarh, Sikandrabad, Dadri Bulands & nearby areas. 

Level 1 of this competition was initiated in the month of September, 2017 for graduate students at the respective colleges/institutes and concluded with a GRAND FINALE at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad.

 The mega show- GRAND FINALE- YTH-2018 kicked off in the morning of 23rd February, 2018 with huge registration of 302 students, 15 teachers & parents from 53 participating colleges/institutes. The opening ceremony of CHANAKAYA AUDITORIUM was the curtain raiser of this mega show. The show started with lamp lighting of Maa Sarawati by Director Management Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey- Director IT, Prof. Nitin Saxena & Prof. Ankur Ahuja, Event Convener and faculties of other colleges & institutes. 

Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director Management- I.T.S Mohan Nagar, addressed the participants in his speech he highlighted that one should not feel de -motivated after losing a competition rather one should look forward for a positive aspect related to it. Prof. Nitin Saxena presented the overview of the event and sequence of the program. After the inaugural ceremony, three written elimination rounds with two semi- final rounds were conducted by MBA students, coordinated by Mr. Rahul Kamboj (Alumni MBA15-17), Ms. Sakshi Panchal (MBA 16-18) & Ms Divya (MBA 17-19). 

Dr. G.K Diwedi and Prof. Shikha Arora conducted Employability session for the eliminated students from round 1. Ms. Rekha Sundriyal coordinated campus round of the students.The Partcipants energized 06 finalist participants with a loud applause for their out of the box skills and show cased the event as a great mix of talent, energy and enthusiasm. 

The Champion’s trophy with cash prize of Rs. 10000 was lifted by Shiksha Sehgal from Kalka Institute as first winner, Delhi, Dushyant Singh from Rukmani Devi Institute, Delhi bagged second position with a prize money of Rs.7500, Vipul Ahlawat, CAEHS- Meerut grabbed third prize with cash prize of Rs.5000. The next 03 consolation cash prizes of Rs.1000 were won by Saurabh from Agarsen PG College , Sikandrabad, Tomis from D.N College, Meerut, Rashi Garg from DIRD, Delhi. 

The event was well co ordinated by Prof. Nitin Saxena and Prof. Ankur Ahuja.

Knowledge Sharing Sessionwith MCA Students by MCA Alumni Mr Amitabh Verma @ I.T.S

Special Session byMr Amitabh Verma, Director India, Caipos, was organized by Department of IT on 21st February 2018 at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad.The session began with welcome of guest by Dr Sunil Kr Pandey Director-IT by presented him a Sapling. While welcoming, Mr Amitabh Verma who was invited as Resource Person, Director-IT discussed about the importance of “Information learning & knowledge sharing” session and how this session would be beneficial for MCA Students in their bright future.

In this session, Mr Amitabh Verma discussed about cloud computing and its related applications. He discussed abouttechnology transformation since last twenty years andpresented a focused discussion on Career options inJobs Profiles. He suggested students to focus on technical as well as interpersonal skills.
This was an interactive & knowledge enriching session.The session was organized in series of efforts to create a platform for MCA Students to meet, listen & interact with the practitioners and experts who have contributed immensely in their domain. Mr. Amitabh Verma also interacted with Students and answered the queries raised during the session.
DrUmang, Coordinator of this session, concluded the session closing remarks and delivered vote of thanks.It was informative and learning session all participating MCA Students.

Guest Session By Dr. Sujata Menon Kapila

 Department of I.T. organized a Guest Session on “"Self Confidence/Reliance and Motivation: Towards Bright Future" @ ITS, Ghaziabad on Tuesday, 20st February 2018 for MCA-IV Semester Students. Dr. Sujata Menon Kapila, Founder, Joyful Living was the resource person for this session. The objective of this talk was to make students more confident and self-reliance so that they can achieve success in their life easily. Dr.Sujata talked about super conscious, conscious and sub conscious minds. Faculty members and students were requested to do 6 Super Conscious Living Exercises with the help of Ms. Malvika. While addressing the students, Dr. Sujata discussed with the students that they should take care of four things in their life (i) Keep body healthy (ii) Have a good control of emotions (iii) Set goals in life (start with smaller goals and work rigorously to achieve those goals) (iv) Stop Expectations . We have to be gratitude in our life for the things which we are having.

She also briefed students about importance of affirmation and manifestation. She communicated to the students that “Visualize your goals and start living with these goals, write it down in a piece of paper and keep this into practice” by doing honest effort and manifestation you will do wonders in your life.

Expert talk by Mr. Inder Raj Ahluwalia for management students.

Management Department at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized an Expert Talk by Mr. Inder Raj Ahluwalia, who is a renowned Travel Journalist and Author.  The talk was conducted in two parts. In the first part, the speaker narrated his experiences and learnings from his enriched career in travel. This part of talk was to motivate the students to consider travel as a career option. 

In the second part of the talk Mr. Ahluwalia talked about possible career opportunities in Travel, Tourism, Food, Heritage, Aviation and writing columns on travel and tourism. 

Mr. Ahluwalia also displayed his books “Meet me at the Border” and “Travels with my Turban” to the students and faculty. Prof. C.K Sabharwal also motivated the students to choose Travel as the career option. Session ended with question answer round, in which enthusiastic students clarified their doubts and sought guidance of the eminent speaker. The event was well coordinated by Prof. Ankur Ahuja and Dr. Shuchita Singh.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

18th February, 2018 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a day of Interest and Tenses. The children were taught about Simple Interest in Math and Present, Past and Future Tenses in English. Volunteers of the day Konika Tyagi, Pooja Agarwal, Arifa Sahiba, Nikhil Kumar Mahaseth, Nandesh Singh, Meghal Jain, Shubham Tiwari, Rizwan Ali, Apurva Tyagi, Niranjan Singh Bhaisora, Richa Sharma, Anurag Kushwaha and George Rudolf Henry started the class with the prayer and informed the children about the highlights of the day.

The first session of the day was on Simple Interest in Math during which Prof. Gourvi explained simple methods of calculating the interest. Initially she explained the concept, later she invited the children to do the sums on interest on the board. The second session of the day was on English Grammar during which the children were told the importance of Tenses. Three main types of tenses – Present, Past and Future were also explained for them with simple examples.  MBA Volunteers Apurva Tyagi and Nirajan Singh Bhaisora had brought the packets of the special éclairs for the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.

Special Session on “Implementation of SQL” by Mr, Manjeet Singh, Team Lead, GSPANN Tech. Inc

An invited talk by Eminent Guest Speaker Mr. Manjeet Singh, Team Lead, GSPANN Tech Inc.was organized on 17th February 2018, at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad. Before starting of the session, MrManjeet Singh was warmly welcomed by Dr. Sunil Kr Pandey Director IT, by presented him a Sapling. In this session, Mr.Manjeet Singh delivered talk on “Implementation of SQL”. In his address, he explained how to use SQL commands to retrieve information from the Database. He explained select command with where, group by, having, order by, distinct, all, unique conditions. He discussed about sequence execution of these commands in processor i.e. firstly ‘from’ statement is executed then ‘where’ condition then ‘group by’ condition then ‘having’ then ‘select’ statement is executed then ‘order by’ after that distinct/unique.

Mr. Singh enlightened on gridline structure, systematic treatment of null values, aggregate function, wild cards, operators, nested queries along with appropriate examples. 
This event was in the series of new initiative by Dept Research Committee, Dept. of IT for Invited talks by national speakers of repute by Dept of IT of the institute with an objective to provide the detailed insight of the theme to the upcoming and working professionals about the technological, research and allied issues and experience sharing by leading experts and professionals. 
MrSinghalso interacted with the Students and answered the queries related with SQL along with its demonstrationraised during the session.

Business Summit 2018

Department of Management studies at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar organized second edition of Business Summit with a focal theme “New Frontiers of India: Skill, Speed and Startups” on Saturday, 17th February, 2018. This summit was one of the leading platform where business, policy-makers, civil society and academia came together to discuss the current trends and challenges in the Indian business landscape.
This second edition of Business Summit was blessed by Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. SURESH P. PRABHU with a video message wherein he congratulated I.T.S for organizing business summit on a relevant theme for country and discussed about challenges of a talented individual to become an entrepreneur and then a successful business person in India.
Business Summit witnessed the presence of prominent speakers across the industries on the day. Mr. Hemant. G. Contractor, Chairman- PFRDA addressed the gathering as the Chief Guest and Mr. Pradeep Khanduri ,Procurement specialist, CGN INDIA LTD as the Guest of Honor.
Principal partner of the summit was UN Global Compact and summit was also successful in attracting other partners as Ghaziabad Industries Federation, Centre for Education Growth & Research and Ghaziabad Management Association. Main sponsors of the summit were Cox and king and Eggsperts and co-sponsors were Digiperform, Vision express and Yours pizza. More than 50 delegates from corporate & academia registered themselves. Students from Delhi/NCR showed huge enthusiasm by participating till the last session of the Summit. 

The Summit was designed with an inaugural session, keeping focal theme in mind and three different panel sessions focusing on digital marketing, future trends in BFSI sector and role of leadership in revamping organizations for digital age.
Inaugural session commenced with welcome note of Prof Shikha Arora followed by motivational address of Mr. Surinder Sood (Director PR). Dr. Anusha Agarwal gave a brief overview of Summit. After that, Dr. Ajay Kumar (Director Management) set the tone of summit by giving a warm welcome address to all. Mr. Pradeep Khanduri, keynote speaker, beautifully intertwined all three parameters Skill, Speed and Startups in his deliberation. He spoke about internal and external transformation to create an identity as a successful entrepreneur. He also touched upon Internet of Things & Marketing 4.0 to reflect the journey from traditional to digital. Mr. Hemant. G. Contractor, Chairman- PFRDA reproduced facts about demographic condition of India and discussed about the key areas of improvement in financial sectors, pension policies and related challenges in India due to poor pension policies.
Session I
Mr. Anil Kumar (Founder CEO) LOCOVIDA discussed about types of consumers in today’s market, how decision got influenced by various people, how rapidly data getting transmitted on regular basis on the world wide web and insights about digital and intelligent marketing with a reference to Neuro Linguistic Programming and Artificial intelligence.
Mr. Lakshman Kanuga (President corporate affairs) BOTOIL OIL TOOLS INDIA LTD, shared insights about digital disruptions in Oil and Gas industries. He focused upon disruption drivers in form of market dynamics, geopolitical disequilibrium & environmental concerns. He also discussed government initiatives in last 4 years in the field.
Mr. Harsh Kalra (MD) EGGSPERT NUTRI INNOVATION PVT. LTD, talked about journey of an entrepreneur and role of entrepreneurs in building startup culture in India. He provided deep insights related to various challenges of egg industry and value of risk taking in entrepreneurial journey.
Mr. Vipin Singhania (CEO) LSONIC FOODS & SERVICES PVT. LTD, also shared his experience of setting up a venture and the challenges faced by an entrepreneur in initial stages. He briefly discussed about global leaders like Google and Microsoft and their journey to attain the present level.
Session II
Mr. Ajay Deep Khurana (Founding Partner) McKinley Global Advisors took the audience towards cashless economy, which is an outcome of digitalization only. He specifically pointed out development in last 10-15 years indicating scope of numerous opportunities & innovation in India. He spoke about digital revolution like Jio and innovations in Indian Banking Sector.
Mr. Amit Sharma (CEO) Satin Housing Finance Ltd. stated various facts about Housing sector with a reference of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban & Rural Housing Interest Subsidy Scheme. He also mentioned opportunities in housing sector and shared that already Rs 10.8 Lakh cores are invested in Housing Finance in India.
Mr. Kaushal Mehtani (Senior Finance Expert) at McKinsey & Company elaborated various trends in BFSI Sector and the factors to be kept in mind before investing money. He also talked about Skill development in the form of reskill, cross skill and up skill. He emphasized upon customer relationship in era of Digitization & Artificial Intelligence.

Mr. Manoj Kumar Sabat (AVP) IL & FS spoke about infrastructure use in financing sector with a special mention of Hyderabad Airport Project worth Rs 3000 crores. He discussed various problem faced by infrastructure financing and recent innovative financing Methods.
Mr. Gopal Mondal (CFO) at IDFC Foundation painted image of India v/s Rural India (Bharat) in front of audience. He interestingly pointed towards change in the behavior of consumer after Demonetization & implementation of GST. He said even GST changed the Kachaa - Pakka Business (without invoice) scenario. He also shared latest trends in technology impacting consumers.
Session III
Mr. Annirudha Singh, Group President (HR), Monnet Ispat & Energy LTD spoke about digital revolution, virtual organization & challenges related with them. He said that the decision making will be data-driven along with inner gut & feeling in time ahead and intellectual work will be done by machines.
Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Head (HR), IPGCL deliberated upon the digital economy & its impact on life of people. He told about Sweden, 1st Country to adapt to cashless transactions. He stated that transactional HR like EPF, PF etc., would be automated in coming time. He emphasized upon technology updation of HR fraternity in order to imagine the future, design the future & align the future with the present.
Mr. Ashish Pradhan, COO, E-SHAKTI.COM (we design, you customize) highlighted his company’s achievement in getting through the World’s top 100 companies for providing the best quality-customer products. He emphasized upon the role of leadership in making a business successful & addressed the various attributes of leaders that are relevant in digital era.
Mr. Prashant Singh, Vice President, Paytm, gave an insight related to ways of “leading in the times of transformation”. He correlated employability & its potential impact on the several industries, e.g. Google v/s Facebook, Hotel v/s Airlines etc. in the form of first order impact & second order impact by taking the reference of technological advancement in terms of AI, block chain, autonomous cars, foodtech, medicines etc. He advised everyone to rethink about the concept of leaders & the leadership in changing times.
Business Summit 2018 ended with vote of thanks proposed by Prof G K Diwedi.

Workshop on Java Technologies

 A workshop on Java technologies, Java Core Concepts, Overview of J2EE, JSP, with concept MVC was conducted for MCA IV semester and BCA VI semester students on 16th February, 2018. The workshop was aimed to provide concepts of OOS and core java including elaboration of components of J2EE.

The workshop was continued with overview of MVC architecture and its importance in web project development in real life projects. The programming basics of JSP with MVC models were also discussed followed by hands on by the students. Students were given a glimpse development of login module in JSP and JDBC. In that students were explained the front end and backend(database) connectivity code and uses of jar files for the thin connection(Type-IV JDBC). The workshop was concluded with a java quiz.

Prof. Alok Singh participated on QIP Short Term Course at IIT Kharagpur.

Management Faculty, Prof. Alok Singh participated in QIP Short Term Course on Supply Chain Integration- Strategies and Technologies at E- Business Center of Excellence, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, at IIT Kharagpur. This short term course was devised to create a platform for discussion on the current and contemporary issues on Supply Chain Management, E- Business, Process Excellence, and Optimization. The course had also allowed the participants to discuss current and pressing issues with senior level executives and academicians and deploy recent software applications in the domain.

Topics for different sessions were, Overview of Supply Chain Strategies and Technologies, Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management, Collaborative Sourcing, Supply Chain Coordination and Contract, E-Auction, CPFR and VMI, Supply Chain Traceability, Collaborative Logistics, System Dynamics, Supply Chain Network Design and Supply Chain Risk.

There were sessions also on software applications in Supply Chain Integrations like MATLAB, SAS, Arc Map, Analogic, I Think Studio, R and Python Programming. All the sessions were taken by senior faculty members of Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, IIT Kharagpur. All the sessions were very well designed and executed in terms of providing domain knowledge and learning in the field of Supply Chain Integration.

workshop on Cyber Security for the students of MCA/BCA and MBAinassociation with Innovative Ideas Infotech and UP Police

Innovative Ideas Infotech is the largest NGO working on Cyber Security across country. The organization conducts workshop on cyber security and are also officially associated with UP Police. They have conducted sessions at the leading institutions across country including the IITs, IIITs, IIMs and now wish to conduct such a workshop in our institute too.

Department of I.T. organized two-days workshop on “Cyber Security”.The prime objective of this workshop is to eradicate cybercrime and making people aware about the threatsandflawsofthee-World. To eradicate the emerging Cyber Crimes AKTU had given the responsibility to InnovativeIdeas Infotech to conduct a free workshop on Cyber Security in our institute for our MCA/ BCA and MBA students on 12thFebruary, 2018.

While addressing the students Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that nowadays we are living in a cyber space and we cannot avoid the usage of internet, so it is every body’s moral responsibility to be aware of cybercrime and its implications. Dr. Vidhya Sekri, Director-UG campus also shared her views in this session. She also said that we should take proper care while sharing our details on the internet via social networking sites or e-banking. Director-Management, Dr. Ajay Kumar, MCA Chairperson, Prof. Puja Dhar, MCA Coordinator, Prof. SmitaKansaland other faculty members of Department of I.T. were also present during the session.

Mr. Rahul Mishra, Cyber Security Adviser of UP Police was the speaker of the session. During the session he covered all the latest Cyber Crimes going on in the digital world like ATM Card fraud, ATM Card cloning, Call spoofing, Mail spoofing and various other latest Cyber Crimes. The session was full of awareness about such crimes and was helpful to eradicate the Cyber Crimes.

First day the session was free of cost and based of the interest of the students he conducted the certification course of worth Rs. 700/- on second day. Today 82 students of MCA/MBA and BCA had participated on the second day. They were also awarded by the Certificate of Participation.

Overall the session was very informative.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

I.T.S UG Campus organized a Cricket Tournament forBBA & BCA all semester students, with aim at imparting lessons on sportsman spirit and camaraderie to the students. Under the guidance of Dr. VidyaSekhri (Director UG Campus), Prof. Nancy Sharma (Vice Principal UG Campus) &Mr. Rajinder Singh Chawla (Sports officer) Cricket Tournament was scheduled meticulously and programmed very well for three days.The agenda behind this Cricket Tournament was to provide the platform where students can explore their talent and skills.
Total 8 Teams partici 11th February, 2018 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a day when the slum children got uncountable special goodies and two important lessons. Ms. Awantica Choudhary, a PGDM Volunteer had sent Motichoor Ke Laddoos for the slum children celebrating her recent placement.

Volunteers of the day Aru Bansal, Kriti, Lavi Gupta, Mayank Kumar, Jhalak Agarwal, Mahima Gupta, Nainsi Yadav and Novika Chadha started the class with the prayer and informed the children about the highlights of the day.

The first session of the day was on ‘Seasons’ during which the volunteer Ms. Novika Chadha explained 6 seasons, their peculiarities, duration, sequence and significance.

The second session of the day was on ‘Understanding the Doctor’s Prescription’. The children were told that the prescription mostly starts with Rx which is actually Rf and this stands for ‘Recover Fast’. So the doctor prays to the almighty for the fast recovery of the patient before he/she suggests a medicine. The children were also told that OD means that the medicine is to be taken once a day, BD means twice a day, TDS means three times a day, HS means at the bed time and SOS stands for Save Our Souls which means that the medicine is to be taken when there is pain in the body. The children were advised to always consult the doctor or an elder member of the family before taking the prescribed medicine even if they have understood the lesson well.

The children could not stop their mouths from watering as they saw the Laddoos sent by Ms. Awantica and Cadbury Bournvita biscuits brought by the PGDM alumni Ms. Parul Gupta, Mr. Abhishek Das and Ms. Rashi Srivastava. MBA Volunteer Aru Bansal had brought the packets of the special éclairs for the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi guided and accompanied the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.
