4th 11 Sports Inter School Table Tennis State Championship-2018

4th 11 Sports Inter School Table Tennis State Championship-2018 was hosted by I.T.S Mohan Nagar campus from 13th - 16thNov’2018 in its sports complex in association with Ghaziabad District Table Tennis Committee(A) under the Aegis of U.P. Table Tennis Association and Table Tennis Federation of India. Around 300 participants from different schools across Uttar Pradesh participated in the championship.

The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director (Management), in presence of the dignitaries, Dr. Sunil Pandey, Director (IT), Dr. Vidya Shekhari, Director (U.G.), Prof. Nancy Sharma, Vice Principal (U.G.), Sh.Rishi Raj Tyagi, Convener (Ghaziabad District Table Tennis Committee(A), Dr. D.K.Pandey, Faculty Sports Coordinator and Mr. R. S. Chawala, Sports Coordinator on 13th Nov’2018 at 2.30 PM in I.T.S. Sports Complex, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad.

The award ceremony of this championship was held on 16th Nov’2018 at 3.00 P.M. at I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad in august presence of the chief guest Sh. Manjeet Dua, Arjun Awardee, Former National Table Tennis Champion and Chief Selector (National Table Tennis Team) and dignitaries Sh. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S -The Education Group, Sh. Arun Kumar Banerjee, Treasurer (Table Tennis Federation of India) and Secretary (U.P Table Tennis Association), Sh. N. K. Lahiri, Treasurer (U.P Table Tennis Association) Sh. Rishi Raj Tyagi, Convenor (Ghaziabad District Table Tennis Committee-A), Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director (Management), Dr. D.K.Pandey, Faculty Sports Coordinator, Dr. V. N. Bajpai, Chair Person (PGDM) and Mr. R. S. Chawala, Sports Coordinator.

Among sub Junior Boys Team Sarth Mishra ( JKG Indirapuram), Vartika Bharat (St. Pattrick School, Agra) in Sub Junior Girls Individual Final, Parth Mishra (JKG, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad) amongst Senior Boys Team, Mahika Dixit (DPS Ghaziabad) in Senior Girls Individual Final, Sarth Mishra (JKG, Ghaziabad) in Sub Junior Boys Individual Final, Vartika Bharat (St. Patrick School Agra) in Sub Junior Girls Individual Final, Shivam Chandra (St. Teresa Ghaziabad) in Junior Individual Final and Radha Priya (DPS, Ghaziabad) in Junior Girls Individual Final were declared winners of the 4th 11 Sports Inter School Table Tennis State Championship-2018.

The main aim of this championship contest was to select players for national championship and promote and encourage Table Tennis sports in the region of Ghaziabad District and to create a charm and attraction among school students and youth for this game.

Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

The Diwali weekend is barely over, when the 14th of November is already beckoning. Children’s Day, or ??? ???? , is round the corner, and Parivartan took due note of the same. ‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme organized at Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized an activity on 11th November, 2018. The volunteers for the day were Hitesh Sharma, Abhay Gupta and Nagesh Tiwari.

Nagesh began the day’s session by highlighting the significance of Children’s Day. He discussed the various facets of the life of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, who also held the post for the longest period. He referred to Pt. Nehru’s education and family background, his writings and of course, his love for children. As expected, the children were aware of some these facts.

Continuing with the theme for the day, Hitesh then delved into child rights and why they are important. In this context he explained the role of the UNICEF and its activities for children around the world.

A quiz was then held to test all that the children learnt during the day. Those who answered correctly were given a pack of Frooti.

Finally the day drew to a close with the distribution of "Bikano Aloo Bhujia" and "Orange Bite" toffees among the children. Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers. Prof. Lokesh Upreti guided the volunteers in the conduct of the programme as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme of Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, organized Activity on 4th November, 2018. There are only a few days left for Diwali. Naturally it was a time to celebrate the Festival of Lights at Parivartan.

Prof. Lokesh Upreti started off the day explaining why it was necessary to behave responsibly while bursting crackers on the occasion of Diwali. The children were well aware of the problems posed by such celebrations. Prof. Upreti also referred to the various kinds of pollution being generated from this bursting of crackers.

Then Hitesh began with the first session of the day. He traced out the origins of cracker bursting to the deserts of Rajasthan. He went on to describe the different types of crackers. Next he introduced the concept of green crackers, as mandated by the recent judgement of the Supreme Court, and discussed why these are beneficial for the environment. Prof. Upreti then involved the students in demonstrating the proper and safe method of lighting crackers.

Yogesh then interacted with the students on the significance of observing Diwali. He also used the opportunity to point out that Diwali is celebrated not only by Hindus, but also other communities like Sikhs and Jain to mark the release of Guru Har Gobind Singh by the Mughals, and Mahavir attaining Nirvana, respectively.

Last but not the least, a Rapid fire quiz round was held to test the knowledge acquired by the children. The 4 winners were awarded with a special "Natraj Stationary Gift Pack" each.

The day came to an end with the distribution of laddoos, Frooti and Mango Bite Toffees among the children.

Corporate Talk Session by Ms. Madhusmita Aggarwal for PGDM and MBA

Department of Management I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized Corporate Talk on 03rd November, 2018 for PGDM and MBA (2018-20) Batch.

The guest speaker was Ms. Madhusmita Aggarwal Director-Quality and HSE with THALES India Pvt Ltd. She was awarded with “50 Most Impactful Quality Professionals” by World Quality Congress.

Ms. Aggarwal shared her own experiences how and why you can no longer just rely on the old formulas. She emphasized that it was not the results but attitude that leads to sustainable success. She explained the various dimensions of the work culture of corporate sectors.

She said that there is no substitute to hard work .She inspired them by her words of wisdom “Not to give up, Believe in yourself and have faith in God.” She said that you might have to start from scratch even after lot of hard work but never give up. There were also obstacles along the way. But with each small step they can be overcome. There were frustrations, fears, uncertainties and hardships but with each small step with focus on the desired destination it can be conquered. Success is no mystery. It takes positive attitude and determination to succeed.

Ms. Aggarwal explained in detail about the various attributes of successful professional such as drive, communication skills and technical skills. She advocated taking risk and speaking for self with belief. At the end of the corporate lecture, a special vote of thanks was given to her.

Merit & Improvement Award Ceremony for MBA (2017-19) Batch Students on 31st October, 2018

Management Department of I.T.S Mohan Nagar organized a Merit and Performance award ceremony for MBA 2017-19 Batch on 31st October, 2018. The beginning of the ceremony was marked by a motivating speech by Director Management-Dr. Ajay Kumar. He discussed importance of small achievements and efforts of life which cumulatively become big for future. He congratulated all awardees and their parents for the success of their wards.

Honorable Vice Chairman- I.T.S The Education Group Shri Arpit Chadha addressed the students & revealed the importance of competition amongst the students. He motivated students to have the spirit of continuous improvement.

The Students were presented with awards in three categories. These categories were:

• Top 10 Merit Holders of MBA I Year.

• Top 10 Merit Holders of MBA II Semester

• Top 10 improvements in MBA II semester over MBA I semester..

A total number of 30 students were awarded under above categories. Top three Positions of MBA I Year Bagged the cash price of ? 10,000; ?7,500 & ?5,000 respectively, rest awardees were rewarded with certificates of Merit & Improvement.

The event culminated with a Hi-Tea for Parents & Awardees.

Soft Skills Club Organized the "WAR OF WORDS"

Soft Skills Club of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad, organized activity to enthuse the students of M.B.A (2018-20) Batch, with the spirit of seeking and developing an inquisitive approach. Primarily Students were shown the Presentation on importance of Soft Skills by the Senior Team Members.The first written round was "Questionnaire Round" which comprised of Verbal ability questions which witnessed a huge participation of approximate 100 members. The Shortlisted students then teamed up into three for Second Round in which they were required to translate the English Song shown on the Projector in Hindi. The final round was the Debate Round in which the shortlisted four teams from second round were given a topic "Demonetization and its effects" to discuss. The teams were assessed on various parameters by two faculty members i.e. Prof Yachna Malhotra and Prof Vivek Pachauri as esteemed Judges for the day.

The two winner teams were awarded with Trophies and attractive Gifts as a token of their enthusiastic participation and knowledge and facilitated by Honorable Director Management Dr. Ajay Kumar Sir.

The Soft Skills Club Activity was coordinated by Prof Shilpi Vaish along with her active team members from MBA 2nd and 1st Year.

Guest Lecture by Prof. Suman Keshari for MBA (2018-20)

A Guest Lecture was organisedby Department of Management at I.T.S. Ghaziabad for MBA 2018-20 Batch. The guest invited was Prof. Suman KeshariRetired director in National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India.
The Event started by welcoming Prof.Keshari by Respected Dr.Ajay Kumar, Director Management. Prof.Keshariimparted her thoughts on the topic “Managing Change more successfully.” She quoted that “Change is the only constant factor in life”. She talked about the evolutionary and revolutionary change and focused upon revolutionary change.
She gave an insight on change management through a case study of NOKIA supported with the quote “THOSE WHO ARE SUCCESSFUL TODAY MAY NOT NECESSARILY BE SUCCESSFULL TOMORROW”. She analyzed the causes of failures story of NOKIA.

Prof. SUMAN KESHARI oriented students practically with ‘CHANGE MANAGEMENT’ and its applicability in industry. She further explained that It should be structured to achieve desired future from current state with careful planning and through action. The need should be created and change must focus on WHAT, HOW and WHEN?She talked about the change management process with its applicability. 
In the last she, discussed about common obstacles of change and why do change efforts fail. She also suggested two excellent readings regarding to give a practical insight to students about change management and its process to manage it more successfully.
The event ended with a concluding remark and by presenting memento as a token of love and thanks by Respected Dr Ajay Kumar Director-Management. Event was coordinated by Prof. Vivek Pachauri and Prof. ritu Saxena.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

The warm wintry rays of the setting sun heralded the onset of a new season. As if on cue, Parivartan also returned to its ‘normal’ sessions after successive weeks of celebrations.

The session was started by Aru Bansal, who explained to the students why "pronouns" were needed in grammar. He took pains to clarify how nouns and pronouns were related to one another, and yet different. Next he discussed the different kinds of pronouns, taking care to ensure that the Hindi nomenclature could be followed by the children. He also used examples to illustrate the use of each such type of pronoun.

The next session involved Shiksha and Abhay, conducting a quiz for testing the knowledge of the children vis-a-vis the last few classes. As usual, those who answered correctly were rewarded with Ball pens.

The day ended with the distribution of "Haldiram Mixture Namkeen" and "Mango Bite Toffees" among the children. Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers. Prof. Lokesh Upreti guided the volunteers in the conduct of the program as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.

Utthan Activity “Beti Bachao, Beti Padao”

27th October, 2018 activity of Utthan Lab, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad celebrated “INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR GIRL CHILD” with a practical session in Computer Labs and Quiz Competition. Activity started the day with the brief on the day’s activities and the competition.

The talk of the day was on “Beti Bachao Beti Padao” during which the comparison of the past and the present was made. Importance of girl child in society and home was discussed. It was discussed that girls are no longer behind the male child. Even females are achieving good position in corporate and society.

The second session of the day was a practical session in the computer labs. The children were taken to Lab 5 and Lab 6 where the task was to search and explore important office bearers of the central Government of India. Also students learn how to use tools like bold, underline, text colour and highlight in MS WORD.

The children entered the designations into Google and read the details on Wikipedia. They mainly searched for the Finance Minister, Defence Minister, President, Vice President and the Prime Minister of India. They also browsed about the Chief Minister of UP.

The last session of the day was a Quiz Competition during which all the children were asked to answer 10 questions on general knowledge. And small kids showed their talent in Poem recitation. More than 30 little competitors were chosen as winners of fabulous prizes like Stationary kits and pencil boxes and were felicitated by Director Management Sir- Dr. Ajay Kumar and Prof. Nitin Saxena.

The activity concluded with the snacks and the cold drinks served to all. All the children were gifted with Biscuits, Chips and Namkeens.

Prof. Nitin Saxena guided the volunteers and enjoyed the activity as the faculty coordinator of Utthan Club.

Workshop on NLP by Dr. Sangeet Sharma for MBA

Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized three workshops by Dr. Sangeet Sharma, a renowned Neuro Linguistic Programme trainer. These workshops were conducted for the new students of MBA (18-20 Batch) on 27thOctober, 2018.

He started with the basics and need of NLP training and very interestingly made the students realize that life is enjoyable and goals are easy to achieve. He said that in English grammar we may have a tense called ‘Future Indefinite’ but in real life we should make sure that our future is definite, not indefinite as an aimless life is no life.

He shared the techniques of improving memory power and retention too. He wrote a series of more than 60 digits on the board and could reproduce the same numbers from beginning to the end and the vice versa without looking at them.

These NLP sessions proved to be a great success and endowed the students with the required morale and motivation. Some students even shared their personal problems with the trainer to which he gave noticeably satisfying solutions. The sessions were warmly received and appreciated by one and all.

Prof. Nitin Saxena was the faculty coordinator for these sessions.

FDP on NLP by Dr. Sangeet Sharma

Dr. Sangeet Sharma, a renowned Neuro Linguistic Programme trainer conducted a Faculty Development Programme on 27th October, 2018.

He started with the basics and need of NLP training and motivated the faculty that nothing is impossible in life. He also shared some well structured techniques of NLP that could make us get rid of various phobias and frustrations. He shared the names of the books titled ‘Unlimited Power’ and ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ by Anthony Robbins and assured the students that these books can bring a revolution and change lives.

He also discussed that how one can control his/her anger and can control his senses. He talked about the series of events in everyone’s life and discussed that if one is able to control the event beforehand then he can easily achieve the heights in his carrier.

He ends his session by discussing the technique which can increase the memory of a person. The sessions were warmly received and appreciated by one and all. Prof. Nitin Saxena was the faculty coordinator for these sessions.

Workshop of Internet of Things and Sensor Programming

One day workshop on “Internet of Things and Sensor Programming” for the MCA students was organized by Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad in association leading IT company Silicon univ, Noida on date 26-10-2018. Prof. Abhay Kumar Ray and Mr. Gaurang Pandya ,senior consultant Silicon univ, Noida were the key resource person of this workshop. Prof . Abhay Kumar Ray taken session with practical demonstration based on Introduction to IoT and Sensor programming for Arduino Uno (using C and C++) and Mr. Gaurang Pandya taken session with practical demonstration based on Azure IoT Basics ,Data Storage and Data Processing, communication between IoT Nodes and cloud system and I am sure that these session will defiantly help the students for their knowledge enhancement and skill up-gradation .

Objective of the workshop :
• This workshop must help the students to understand and take better use of the Arduino Uno, components of Arduino Uno, Application of different sensors , Integration of sensors to the Ardunio chip, Program writing ,development and implementation of application using Arduino Chip ,Azure IoT Basics ,Data Storage and Data Processing, communication between IoT Nodes and cloud system. 
• After this workshop students can develop Arduino chip and sensor based applications and use Azure for the data storage.
Pre-requisite: Knowledge of C, C++ .
Content of the workshop:
• Fundamentals of Internet of Things , Introduction of different IoT supporting hardware including Microcontrollers chips and Micro Processor chip , Different kinds of sensors like light sensors , Ultrasonic Sensors etc.
• Introduction to Arduino UNO chip and Raspberry pi, Programming in c/c++ 
• Programming in C++ for LED , Ultrasonic Sensor, Push Buttons, Light sensors , Temperature and humidity sensors etc
• Demonstration and Hands on based on Ardunio IDE and application of Adrunio chip and sensors based sketch
• Basics of Azure IoT Basics ,Data Storage and Data Processing, communication between IoT Nodes and cloud system
Total 40 students from MCA III sem students were participated in this workshop. Students showed their interest to learn this technology and I am sure that participants of this workshop can develop apps by using Arduino IDE and supporting sensors .

Faculty of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad, Prof. Alok Singh presented a research paper titled “Review and Research Agenda on Supply Chain of Poultry and Meat Products” in International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Management for Sustainable Development (ICETMSD-2018), which was organized at DBGI Dehradun. 
The conference saw a great gathering of wonderfully acclaimed speakers throughout the world. This conference was devised to create a platform for discussion on the current and contemporary issues on Engineering, Technology and Management for Sustainable Development. The conference had also allowed the participants to discuss current and pressing issues with senior level executives and academicians. 

Total 60 quality research papers across the country were submitted by different area experts in their different domain of expertise. The conference was inaugurated with benign presence of Prof. (Dr.) Gautam Chatterjee (Adamas University, Kolkata), Dr. Mayank Singh (University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Durban, South Africa), Prof. (Dr.) Vibhash Yadav, Prof. (Dr.) Vipin Tyagi and Prof. (Dr.) S.B. Biradar.
This two days international conference was organized by Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.

I.T.S U.P. Senior State Fide Rated Chess Championship-2018

I.T.S U.P. Senior State Fide Rated Chess Championship-2018 was hosted by I.T.S Mohan Nagar campus in its sports complex in association with Chess Sports Association Ghaziabad under the Aegis of U.P. Chess Sports Association from 25-28 October, 2018.

The inaugural ceremony of this championship was held on 25th Oct’2018 at 11.15 A.M.in I.T.S Mohan Nagar Sports complex in august presence of the chief guest Sh. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S -The Education Group, dignitaries of the ceremony Sh. Surendra Chouhan, General Secretary (U.P.Chess Sports Association), Shree Charul Bhatnagar, Secretary(Chess Sports Association, Ghaziabad), Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director(Management),Dr. Sunil Pandey,Director (IT),Dr. Vidya Shekhari, Director(U.G.), Prof. Nancy Sharma, Vice Principal(U.G.), Dr. D.K.Pandey, Faculty Sports Cordinator and Mr. R. S. Chawala, Sports Cordinator.

186 chess players across the State participated in the event. This Championship aimed for the selection in the National Championship of two category chess players and the development of chess in the district of Ghaziabad.

Chess Sports Association Ghaziabad had unanimously elected Sh. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S- The Education Group as the Vice President of Chess Sports Association Ghaziabad.

The closing ceremony of this championship was held on 28th Oct’2018 in august presence of the chief guest Sh. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S -The Education Group, dignitaries of the ceremony Sh. Surendra Chouhan, General Secretary (U.P.Chess Sports Association), Shree Charul Bhatnagar, Secretary(Chess Sports Association, Ghaziabad), Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director(Management),Dr. D.K.Pandey, Sports Chairperson , Mr. R. S. Chawala, Sports Cordinator and Arbitrator Mrs. Kavita Patel.

Sh. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman- The I.T.S Group congratulated and expressed his best wishes to all the winners and participants for their active participation and encouraged them to excel in future. Dr. Ajay Kumar, director (Management) emphasized on both the physical and mental development of the youth to achieve grand success in life and ensured to extend maximum possible support to promote sportsmanship in the region.

I.T.S Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad has a rich tradition to reward and honour top class sports persons like Binod Kambli, Lokesh Tewatia, Ashish Nehra, Piyush Chawla, Sushil Kumar in the glorious past and to organize and participate in various sports activities to promote and encourage sportsmanship amongst the students of I.T.S and citizens of Ghaziabad district. The attraction of the Championship was participation of contestants from 7 years to 70 years age group from all across U.P. state.

Cash prize of Rs. 50,000 along with trophies and certificates were awarded to the winners. The winners were as follows:

Rishbad Nashid (Kanpur)captured first prize of Rs. 11000/ with trophy, Madhav (Kasganj) and Kartiyar Prashant (Kanpur) were declared 2nd and 3rd winner respectively with cash prize of Rs. 7500/ and trophy, Lavanya Ishan (Agra) secured 4th position with Rs.3000/cash prize, Rahul Upadhyay (Mathura)held 5th position with cash prize Rs. 2000/, Chouhan Narayan (Mainpuri), Kavya (Ghaziabad), Dubey Sanchay (Agra),Gajendra Singh (Mainpuri) and Nakul Choudhary (Mathura)secured 6th, 7th, 8th,9th and 10th position with cash prize of Rs. 1000/ each and 21 players remaining between 11th and 16th rank received cash prize of Rs. 500/ each. Similarly from Ladies group, Mishra Roy (Raibareilly),Sara Prakash (Agra), Astha Rastogi (Ghaziabad) received cash prize of Rs. 1200/, Rs.1000/ and Rs. 800/ with trophy and certificates respectively for their outstanding performance and Rajendra Gupta (Agra) of forty years and above age group was also awarded with Rs. 1200/ cash prize and trophy for his excellent performance.

All together 35 participants were awarded with cash prize, trophy and certificates for their performance in I.T.S U.P. Senior State Fide Rated Chess Championship-2018.

All participants expressed there deep sense of gratitude and thankfulness to the dignitaries present during the ceremony and promised to excel in future.

MARKETING CLUB- MERCATO organised “ART MART” for MBA students.

MARKETING CLUB- MERCATO organised “ART MART” on 25 October 2018 for MBABatch 2018-20.The Major objective behind this event was to enhance theteam work and to showcase the talent in the creative end of marketing for the budding managers.

The event had three rounds to compete, Marketing Quiz, Rebranding- and Ad Venture.

There were certain parameters for judgement including creativity, confidence, team work, content (delivery). This was the first club event for MBA 1st year and they portrayed great interest, enthusiasm and team spirit. Students have also shown their willingness for such future activities which may further enhance their learning and enrich their experience.

The teams adjudged winners were Shubhdeep & Swadhin and Deepali & Divyanshi for First and Second Positions respectively.

Felicitation ceremony was graced by honourable Director(Management) Dr. Ajay Kumar, wherein he motivated students by deliberating technicalities of Marketing and importance of out of the box thinking. The Occasion was also graced by Director (IT) Dr. Sunil Pandey and Dr. SanjeevTandon. The entire activity was conducted under the mentorship of marketing club Co-ordinator Dr.Garima Srivastav.
