Utthan Activity on “Google All The Way”

Utthan, A CSR initiative of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar organized a session on festivals celebrated in India during January to July for school children on 20th July, 2019 in the campus.

In the first segment of the activity, students were familiarized with all festivals celebrated in India.
In the second session, students were taken to Computer Labs and were taught about “Google Drive” and creating “Google Form”. Students were asked to create Google form using different tools available like inserting picture, creating multiple options, charts, tables etc.

Also, Students presented their views on different festivals on stage. Total 42 students participated in the speech competition and 35 were awarded with the prizes.

Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey, Director (IT) was invited to felicitate the winners with prizes.

All the students were given refreshment at the end of the session.

ATS, Indore was scheduled on 20th July, 2019 for MCA Students in association with CSI Student Branch @ I.T.S. The session focuses on presenting oneself with finesse and making others comfortable in a corporate setting. This session also had a component of Personal Grooming that was targeted at young professionals who are just entering a corporate environment.

Faculty Development Programme on "Learner Centric Pedagogy: Contemporary Tools and Techniques"

Dr V N Bajpai and Dr D K Pandey of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar conducted Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Learner Centric Pedagogy: Contemporary Tools and Techniques" on 17.07.19 at Ideal Institute of Management & Technology, Delhi (IP University).

The session was the part of one week FDP on "Integrated Technologies, Approaches and Effective Didactical Mechanism in Teaching, Learning and Research in current Scenario" organized jointly by MSME Technology Development Center (A Govt of India Organization under Ministry of MSME) & IIMT Delhi.

The session was a demonstration of pedagogy for participants to involve the learners leading to better understanding of concepts and sharpening the transferable skills. Some of the tools for effective quizzing were also discussed with the participants.

More than 50 faculty members of Management, IT and Law from different institutes participated in this FDP.

Faculty Development Programme on “Research Trends in Cloud, Fog and Edge Computing” at NIT Jalandhar

I, KP Singh attended a TEQIP Sponsored one week FDP on Research Trends in Cloud, Fog and Edge Computing” conducted by NIT Jalandhar, during  17th July 2019 to 21st July 2018.

The objective of this FDP was to provide theoretical and practical background with state of art research practices, current and future research trends.

The above mentioned FDP was conducted by TEQIP team at NIT Jalandhar where various eminent resource persons from reputed academic institutions and from reputed IT Industry shared their research and technical exposure. The first day first session was taken by Prof.(Dr.) Mayank Dave from NIT Kurukshetra in which he discussed about the concepts of Cloud computing, Fog computing and Edge computing. Dr. Dave also highlighted some latest trends and updates being happened in the area of Cloud computing like IBM Mean, App Cloning, Node.js, NPM, QoS and QoE etc.

The next session was continued by Dr. Sandeep Kr. Sood from GNDU, Amritsar. In this session Dr. Sood highlighted the concepts of creation of PaaS on Google App Engine. Dr. Sood also discussed about No SQL Databases, JSON, CPS: Cyber Physical System and Concepts of IoT with Cloud. The next sessions were taken by various other eminent resource persons on various research trends and its applications in the area of Cloud Computing like: Dr. OP Verma from GB Pant Govt. Engineering College New Delhi, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sofat from Panjab Engg. College Chandigarh, Dr. Kamlesh Dutta from NIT Hamirpur, Dr. Kuldip Kumar from NIT Jalandhar, Dr. Avtar Singh from NIT Jalandhar and Dr. Harsh Kr. Verma from NIT Jalndhar.

In the next sessions on the next day’s several resource persons from reputed IT Industries shared their Industrial and core technical exposure with the participants and demonstrated some practical aspects on ongoing and in use technology in the cloud industry. In these sessions Dr. Amit

Sangroya from TCS Research department discussed practical and research aspects of Map Reduce technology on MRBS Simulator. Mr. Karamvir Singh Rajpal from GiagByte Networks conducted hands on Tensor flow to implement the concepts of machine learning and shown how neuron network implemented in application.

On the last day a practical and hands on session was conducted by Dr. Mani Madhukar from IBM. Dr. Madhukar demonstrated the process of creation of cloud instances on IBM cloud and he also conducted hands on exercise to create a Banking Chatbot on IBM Cloud. Dr. Madhukar also made the participants aware about latest trends and technologies coming up in the IT Industry like concepts of Block Chain, Crypto Currency and Bit Coin

 The FDP was very useful and I learnt many new things from this programme.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized activity , with the game planned for the day.

In the first phase, a session of dumb charades was organised.  Unlike most such sessions which are merely played for fun, here, in characteristic Parivartan style, the kids were made to act out ideas which had been taught during the classes in general. This process was used to identify ten winners. Those answering correctly received toffees, while those who acted out the charades were given biscuits.

In the second phase these ten winners were then made to face questions regarding all that had been taught during the past month. While those who answered rightly were given toffees, they also received points. Ultimately the three top scorers were presented Table Tennis Sets.

Subsequently, things came to an end with the distribution of ‘Parle Good Day’ biscuits and ‘Parle Orange Bite’ toffees. Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers.

30th Jeet Kune-Do Belt Awards 2019 organized by I.T.S Mohan Nagar

I.T.S Mohan Nagar sponsored and organized 30th Jeet Kune-Do Belt Awards 2019 in association with Jeet Kune-Do Sports Association of U.P., a part of Jeet Kune-Do Federation of India on 14th July, 2019 at I.T.S Mohan Nagar campus.

Jeet Kune-Do is a famous Self Defense, Street Fight Martial Art developed by Bruce Lee, the well known martial artist.

The programme started with  floral welcome of the Chief Guest, Shri Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman of I.T.S The Education Group by Mr. Vivek Kaushik, President of the Association followed by lamp lighting by the dignitaries present. In his address, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the Federation for nurturing young generation with this art of self defense. He expressed his commitment and support for bringing such sports at the centre stage of exposure and popularity among youth.

 More than 400 participants of different age groups with their parents from Ghaziabad, Delhi & NCR fought for Yellow, Green, Blue and Brown Belts.

The winners of different categories were awarded with Medals and Belts.

PG faculty Dr. Vivek Pachuri attended a Eight Days Faculty Development Program on "Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics" at Indraprasth Engineering College Ghaziabad

The program was organised under the series of Value Education cell, AKTU. The objective of the program was to make aware and enrich the participants with need of value education and their holistic development which in turn can shape or reshape holistic development of students in today's complex and multidimensional environment. The session were really full of enthusiasm and energy along with learning outcomes. Under this program, I got opportunity and a platform where I could be able to understand process of self exploration with the help of new proposals and basic human aspirations with an excellent of mix pedagogy. I hope and shall try to apply my efforts in a direction to reap more benefits of workshop via process of transformation in self in order to give benefits to my students and society too.

Special Session on “Java Technology ”

Two days special session on “Java Technology” was organised by department of IT for the MCA final year student on 10th and 11th July 2019 during 9:30 to 11:30.  

Mr.Sunny Upadhyay , Group Leader, from Newgen Software Technologies  ,Noida  was  the speaker for this session. Mr. Sunny started the session with motivating the students by explain the features and usability of Java Technology in industry , followed by  the facts about required skill set for the java application  Development and also  how they can develop skills to make their career in the Java Technology .

He suggested the students that, what the industry looks into the students & where the students are lacking and how they can overcome from this problem.

Mr. Sunny also took a give a brief Introduction and application of emerging frameworks of java (Spring , Grails etc) in java technology and their applications.

It was really a great interactive session & I hope that the students would have enjoyed & benefited by this session.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme at Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad conducted ‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme on 7th July, 2019 covering a lesson in grammar and a dose of general knowledge.

The first session started with Rishita taking a class on synonyms and antonyms. After explaining Rishita wrote out a table of some common words to illustrate the concepts. The children were made to repeat after the teachers. Their copies were also checked by the volunteers to ensure that they were following properly.

In the second half Tulika move in to talk about some of the major inventors and their creations. References were made to epoch making achievements like Thomas Alva Edison and the electric bulb; James Watt and the steam engine; Alexander Graham Bell and the telephone, etc. Once again the students were made to repeat what they were taught.

The usual quiz followed for testing of the knowledge acquired in the two sessions, with prizes being handed out to those who answered correctly. The concluding part was then covered by Sudhanshu through Chhoti Chhoti Baatein - jaate jaate aaj ka gyan. It was time to invoke a well known Sanskrit shloka

"Na chora chauryam, na cha rajya haryam, na bhrata bhajyam, na cha bharakari Vardhate nitya ekam, vindhya danam sarva dhan pradhanam"  

The day was finally brought to a close with the distribution of ‘Parle Good Day’ biscuits and Eclairs toffees.

Dr. Umang, Department of IT attended FDP on Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics

Dr.Umang from Department of IT, Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, attended eight days Faculty Development Program on Level 1 - Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics, organized by Value Education AKTU, Lucknow, from 4/7/19 to 11/7/19, at Indraprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad.

The purpose of the Faculty Development Programme was to propagate human values to the student fraternity through faculty and thus creating sensitization amongst students for a better, value driven behaviour and self-development.

The objective of thisFDP was comprised into four different levels along with Value Domain & Skill Domain:

  • Harmony in Individual Level
  • Harmony in the family
  • Harmony in the Society
  • Harmony in nature and cosmos

Process of the FDP was based on the verification on basis on Natural Acceptance. The Faculty Development Programme was focused on understanding co-existence of self and body, importance of right understanding, right feelinganalysing the importance of relationship and identifying the required physical facilities for self-comfort and existence. This session also emphasized on role of our pre-conditionings in our day to day decisions and behaviour. Further eminent speaker Ms ManishiMishra,Core Committee Member, Value Education, AKTU  talked about prosperity in the family with Hapiness. The difference between intention and competencies of an individual was brought about in this session. Thus, the importance of right evaluation of a person’s competencies was discussed very elaborately. The nine core family values were also shared in this session.

The resource persons for the session from university were Ms Manishi Mishra, Ms. Sumedha, Mr Kaushik and Dr Arunima Mishra, Around75 faculty members from different management and engineering colleges of AKTU participated in this programme.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed on 03rd July, 2019 between Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad &  Rubicon Skill Development Pvt., Ltd. for training students on “Campus to Corporate” Program. MoU was signed by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director (Management) of I.T.S Ghaziabad and Mr. Vidit Chaudhary , Campus Connect Manager,  Rubicon.

Rubicon was incepted with a dream of a world where every youth has the power to transform lives for themselves and others around them. Company aims at building competencies, which would help youth seek careers and prosper in their career of choice through excitement into learning by developing and harnessing, their curiosity and intrinsic motivation for learning.

Rubicon’s “Campus to Corporate” Program, is supported by Barclays that aims at improving the employ ability skills of the youth. This initiative is supported by Barclays. Under this program students will be trained by Corporate Trainers to enhance their life skills which would help them significantly to increase their chance of succeeding in a job interview.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme at Department of Management of I.T.S Ghaziabad conducted  activity on 30th June, 2019 covering the topics of general knowledge and mapping of different Indian states.

In the first half Pragati and Sudhanshu dealt with a variety of topics on mythology and current affairs such as stories from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, the Central Government, famous Indian personalities, etc. Questions were directed towards the learners.

The second session was brought up by Vasu as he took the unique initiative of familiarizing the children with the states using the map of India. Map sheets were handed out, followed by Vasu tracing out the state boundaries on the board. Volunteers helped the kids in marking the maps correctly.

Finally it was time for Chhoti Chhoti Baatein - jaate jaate aaj ka gyan. Sudhanshu did the honors as he explained to the famous Sanskrit shloka from the Bhagawad Gita:
Karmanye Vadhikaraste, Ma phaleshou kada chana

You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of actions.

A quiz was held to review learning of the day, with those answering correctly receiving ‘Bikano Namkeen’ packets. The day ultimately concluded with the distribution of ‘Parle Good Day’ biscuits and Eclairs toffees.

Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers. Prof. Lokesh Upreti planned and guided the volunteers in the conduct of the programme as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

The 21st of June is celebrated every year as International Yoga Day. It was therefore natural that ‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad will also impart some idea about one of India’s most significant gifts to the rest of the world.

Jyoti first engaged the students in understanding what yoga was all about. She explained all the varieties of techniques utilised here and the rationale behind each. She also took care to diligently explain the benefits accruing from the different asanas.

Then Sudhanshu took centre stage as he demonstrated a number of useful asanas like TrikonasanTadasan, some elements of Suryanamaskar,VajrasanShabasanBalasanBhramarasan and Simhasan. In order to lighten things up he even demonstrated Hasyasan. While the children joined in enthusiastically, care was taken to ensure that they performed each asana in the proper manner.

Finally popular and useful techniques like kapalbhati and anulom vilom were also demonstrated. The unique and eye opening day ultimately came to an end with the distribution of ‘Bikano Namkeen’ packets and Eclairs toffees.

International Yoga Day Celebration@ I.T.S Ghaziabad

I.T.S – Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2019 in the campus. Since its inception in the year 2015, June 21st is celebrated as The International Day of Yoga all over the world. This idea was proposed by Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi.

The session was conducted by famous Yoga Trainer Ms Pramila Singh with the students, faculty and staff. Ms Pramila Singh was welcomed by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director (Management) and Dr. Vidya Sekhri, Director (UG). All the participants demonstrated various asanas including warm up exercises, sitting and standing asanas. Importance of these was explained simultaneously by the trainer. She encouraged students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration and to create consciousness.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

Day of activity was significant for two reasons – it was Father’s Day and being the third Sunday of the month, it was time for learning through games as well. There could be no better opportunity for fusing both together.

Sudhanshu the powerhouse started the day with a most innovative experiment. He decided to use some balloon tricks to explain to the children that what appears to be magic is actually science at work. Common concepts of physics were demonstrated with the participation of the learners themselves. Naturally the kids were all ears and loved the experience.

Then livewire Nagesh came forward to discuss the importance of Father’s Day. After making the children discuss the significance of the day, he made them recite a poem on the love for fathers. Finally the game began as sheets were handed out and the children were asked to write or draw about their fathers. Three winners received a Table Tennis Set each. Notable mentions were rewarded with toffees and ‘Bikano Namkeen’ packets.

The longish day then drew to a close with the distribution of ‘Parle Good Day’ biscuits and ‘Parle Mango Bite’ toffees.
