Department of Management organized a guest talk for the students of MBA First Year (2018-20 Batch).The speaker for the session of the day was Dr.Ganesh Singh
Professor andProgramme Director – Foundation Course - AIMA. Dr. Singh addressed the students on a very relevant subject “Expectations of Corporate world from a Management Graduate”. During the discourse some very important principles were shared with the students like Time Management, Aim High, Try to be a problem solver and Quality Consideration. These principles with detailed explanation by Dr. Singh, acquainted students and also prepared them for the upcoming challenges of the corporate world. The session also provided students with an importance of filling the gap between what they are today and what they ought to be.

The session provided a great learning experience to students as they got an opportunity to analyse and explore their own basic assumptions and personality blocks, responsible for their positive and negative orientation in life. Moreover, the rich and varied experience of Dr. Singh provided students an enriched learning experience.

Guest Talk by Dr. Amita Srivastava, Director- BCRTC

Department of Management organized a guest talk for the students of MBA First Year (2018-20Batch). The speaker of the session was Dr. Amita Srivastava Director-BCRTC.

Dr. Srivastava focussed on some of the key areas of development for students. The significant points being: to be innovative, having good communication skills, hardworking, consistency in one’s efforts and effective leadership. Each and every trait was extensively explained by sharing the examples of world leaders and the kind of challenges they have faced in their strive to be successful and to be what they are today. The session motivated the students as they could relate very practically through the life stories of the world leaders. The students were very energised as they could feel the zeal within them after the invigorating address of Dr. Srivastava.

Thereafter, she addressed lot of queries from the students and overall it was a very interactive session and a rich practical learning experience for students.

Inaugural Session for 15th Batch of MBA at I.T.S Ghaziabad.

Department of Management at Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar,Ghaziabad commenced its Orientation Program “AARAMBH -2018” from 21st Aug 2018 to 27th Aug 2018 for its15thbatch of MBA (2018-20) students.

The inaugural ceremony held on Tuesday, 21st Aug 2018. The programme was inaugurated with lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest,Prof. (Dr.) Vinayshil Gautam, Senior Advisor TRIFED, Founder Director IIM-K, Dr. Amitabh Rajan IAS, Ex- Homes Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary of Maharashtra, Shri Arpit Chadha- Vice- Chairman- I.T.S-The Education Group, Mr. Surinder Sood , Director –PR, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director –Management and Dr. Anusha Aggarwal, Chairperson - MBA.

Programme started with the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar, Director – Management. In his welcome address, Prof.Ajay Kumar, welcomed Chief Guest, Guest of Honor and the students of newly admitted batch. He also shared his thoughts about academic discipline and time management which is in indispensible for professional growth. He also congratulated newly admitted students on their success in getting admission to MBA Course at I.T.S Ghaziabad.

The chief guest of the day Dr. Vinayshil Gautam shared his vast experience with the newly admitted MBA students he spoke at length on various aspects of acquiring management education. Dr. Gautam emphasized that the value and attitude of students has changed overtime. He suggested students to focus on learning instead of placement and getting job. He said your attitude defines what you get in your life so change your attitude learn and only then think of earning. Dr. Gautam said that competition is no longer local in nature its global.

Guest of Honour, Dr. Amitabh Rajan, shared his diverse experience with students. He said that it was not the results but attitude that leads to sustainable success. He also stressed the importance of dedication to one’s profession and the need to have passion for success in all endeavors of life. He also added to develop a zeal for learning.He said that the students of today are having best of the opportunities. He advised students to strive for their vision without compromising ethics.Mr Surinder Sood , Director –PR,I.T.S- The Education Grouptalked about that the experimentation with the innovative ideas are foundation to be a successful manager and a leader. He also shared thought provoking experiences which was about to make the world a better place to live by not just digging from it but also giving something in return.Dr. Anusha Agarwal gave the overview about the orientation program and also made students familiar with classes, examination and other aspects of the MBA program.

At the end Dr. Yachana Malhotra, proposed vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to the parents and students for having faith and confidence in the institution.

Workshop on “Oracle E-Business Suite Applications”

One day Workshop on “Oracle E-Business Suite Applications” has organized by CRC –IT in association with Oratree Solutions Private Limited, Noida for our MCA final year students for their better placement on date 18th-Aug-2018 during 10:00AM to 1:00 PM. Mr. Sumit Chauhan, Managing Director, Ms. Kriti Arora, Hr- Head and Mr. Pankaj Dubey, Sr. Manager from the Oratree Solutions Private Limited, Noida were the key resource person. 

This workshop focused on practical and application aspects of recent version of Oracle E-Business Suite and covered the topics like Introduction and importance of ERP in Industry, Introduction to Oracle E-Business Suite Applications, Its different module, security and privacy aspects of this application, Demonstration of this application with some real life examples . 
Total 30 students of MCA final year were participated in this workshop. It was very interactive and informative workshop, and I am sure that this workshop will help our students to make their career path in field of ERP.

Special Session on “Industry Expectations for Career Perspectives” by Sh. Upkar Singh

An invited talk by Eminent TEDx Speaker "Industry Expectations for Career Perspectives" was organized on 20.08.2018, at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad. Before starting of the session, Shri Upkar Singh was warmly welcomed by Dr. Sunil Kr Pandey Director IT, by presented him a Sapling. Dr. Umang presented a brief about the Session and introducing the Guest Shri Upkar Singh with audience.

In this session, Shri Upkar Singh delivered talk on “Industry Expectations for Career Perspectives”.The session included discussions on general conditions and situations of VUCA World. He has well explained VUCA Acronym. He has also discussed systemic failures and behavioural failures, which are characteristic of organisational failure.

Shri Singh said that VUCA often relates to how people view the conditions under which they make decisions, plan forward, manage risks, foster change and solve problems

This event was in the series of Invited talks by national speakers of repute by Dept of IT of the institute with an objective to provide the detailed insight of the latest developments in technology, research issues and futuristic development.

Shri Upkar Singh also interacted with the students and answered the queries related with Industry Expectation raised during the session. It was overall learning and knowledge sharing session for participating students.

Orientation Program for 22nd Batch of MCA Programme

Department of I.T organized seven days Orientation Programme of its newly, admitted 22nd batch of MCA (2018-2019) at the Institute from 20th August to 25th August, 2018. The formal inauguration and opening ceremony for the above mentioned batch of MCA Course was on 21st August, 2018. Opening & Inaugural ceremony was formally inaugurated with the lamp lightning by Vice Chairman, I.T.S-The Education Group, Sh. Arpit Chadha, Director-PR, I.T.S- The Education Group, Sh. Surinder Sood, Chief Guest , Dr. M.M.Pant, Former Pro-Vice Chancellor, IGNOUand Founder & Chairman- PlanetEDU, Guest of Honor, Mr. Ravinder Arora, CISO, IRIS Software, Mr. Tarun Nehra, National Operations Head, TCS, Director-I.T., Dr.Sunil Kumar Pandey, Chairperson- MCA Programme , Prof. Puja Dhar and Coordinator-MCA, Prof. Smita Kansal. 
Vice Chairman, I.T.S-The Education Group welcomed the newly admitted students of MCA and said that students will get ample of opportunities to interact with the Leaders of Industry which will help them to corelate their university syllabus with the real corporate life.

Director-PR, ITS-The Education Group, Sh. Surinder Sood welcomed all the students and wished them best luck for the new beginning of their professional career and advised them to work hard and be updated as per the demand of the Industry.
While addressing the students Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that Department always provide the Opportunity to students of MCA to work on Industry Projects during studies. In house Skill Development Cell for overall development and Placement preparation modules. He said that Department of I.T organizes many Industry visits for MCA students to leading IT Companies like TCS, SOPRA, Data Centers and the Organizations who have adopted Technologies including Narora Atomic Power Plant, AMD, Smart Health, Apple Center of Excellence, Mother Dairy, ITS-CDSR for CAD & CAM System used in Dentistry.
Chairperson-MCA, Prof. Puja Dhar while welcoming the students of 22nd Batch of MCA said that the I.T Department believes in the process of learning by doing and hence the University prescribed curriculum is well supplemented with various value added Modules, continuous industry interaction, different IT Clubs, industry visits, CXO Meet, CEO Meet, SAMAGRA, IT-Summit, Conferences and many more
Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony, Dr. M.M.Pant talked about the shaping minds for the new millennium. He said that success happens when preparation meets opportunities. He also discussed about the Top 10 skills of year 2020 and technology mega trends in the 4th Industrial revolution.
Guest of Honor, Mr. Ravinder Arora discussed about the Cyber Security and the IT jobs that can lead to Cyber Security careers. He also advised students to learn ,practice and stay updated.
While addressing the Students Mr. Tarun Nehra, National Operations Head, TCS, said that students have to come out of the shell and make the road map for their career. He also emphasized that students should also take care of their health and make routine of walking so that they will remain fit and can work in a healthy environment. He also advised students to work on their basic concepts of all the subject which they will study during their MCA course.

After the formal Inaugural ceremony, Mr. Suneel Keswani, POSSIBLERS took the session on Personality Development where he interacted with the students and gave them real life examples and how to cope up in the difficult situations. This was followed by four days Orientation Program to sensitize students with MCA Program, Course requirement & structure, industry orientation through invited Industry people and other basic technical skill sets which are required for their professional development. 
From 20th August to 25th August, 2017 some special sessions were also scheduled after the inaugural day. The objective of these sessions was to make the new students aware about requirement from the industry so that they can prepare themselves accordingly. 
In continuation with the Orientation Programme, on 20th August, 2018, Mr. Upkar Singh, Director Technology, FIS, Global, Noida took the session and very nicely explained about the VUCA world which means Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity. He also advised students to follow 10-E Keys starting from Enthusiasm to enjoying the successful life.
On the same day on 20th August, 2018 ,Students were also involved in a Yoga Session where the team members from Art of Living were invited. Students enjoyed many mind games and they also gave them some tips to sharpen their mind while they are in stress.
On 23rd August, 2018 students were also taken for an Industrial Visit to the CISCO LAB of APTRON, Noida. They were given the demonstration on how data transmits and other networking concepts were also discussed in the session
On 24th August, 2018 there were also some other PDP sessions taken by Prof. Preeti Baliyan and Prof. Chanda Jain. Mr. Neeraj Chandhok also took one session on Customer Service Orientation where he interacted with the newly admitted students of MCA Programme.
On 25th August, 2018 a valedictory ceremony on 5-days MCA Orientation Programme on 22nd batch of MCA was organized which was followed by the Industry talk by Mr. Amandeep Singh, CIO, Ford Motors, Gurgaon. He very nicely discussed about the new technologies like IOT, Data Science, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. He made the session so interactive that students were totally involved in his talk and also cleared their doubts regarding the new technologies and demand in the Corporate world.
While addressing the students Mr. Manikanand Iyer, Head AMD India discussed about the demands of the Industry from the students. It was followed by the Alumni interaction where MCA alumni including Mr. Vikas Sharma, WIPRO, Mr. Manish Sharma, Syscom, Mr. Gautam Bagga, Infosys, Mr. Yash Mendirata, WIPRO, Ms. Manisha , IBM and Ms. Muskan Abbasi. It was an open session where students asked many queries to the invited alumni and they too made this session interactive.

Overall the session was very interactive and informative for the students and faculties too.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

19th August 2018 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad, was a day dominated by the dark clouds in the sky. The joy and enthusiasm of the Independence Day celebrations the previous week ensured that the number of children was more than usual.

The volunteers for the day were Aru Bansal, Shaswat Sinha, Priyanshi Gupta, Vaibhav Hemrajani, Arindam Ghosh and Diksha Rai.

In the first session, Aru taught the children about mountains - how they were formed; the geographical spread of the Himalayas and some of the main peaks therein; how ice from the glaciers melts to give rise to the rivers. The learners were not entirely knowledgeable in this, but they listened intently and enthusiastically participated in the Q&A session that followed.

The next session dealt briefly with traffic rules, especially with regard to crossing roads. This was of practical relevance to the children, as many of them have to cross the road to come to the Parivartan classes. Those who answered questions correctly in this and the previous session were rewarded with a packet of Crax curls, pens and toffees.

The programme finally ended with the distribution of “Krack-Jack Biscuits” and “Mango bite toffees” among all the children. Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers. Prof. Lokesh Upreti guided the volunteers in the conduct of the programme as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.

Training Program conducted for Teachers at Chadha Public School, Murad Nagar (UP).

A training program on "Time Management and Problem Solving" was conducted at Chadha Public School, Murad Nagar. Program started with lamp lighting in front of Goddess of Learning, Maa Saraswati.

Participants were highly delighted to have such an opportunity to learn and add new set of skills and competencies so as to develop and enrich their capabilities as a successful teacher and to contribute the best possible to their students and hence the learning environment was highly interactive and resulted in deep routed team cohesiveness among the participants.

Prima facie, Dr. M. K. Jha gave opening remarks on Time Management and Problem Solving and addressed the participants to accept and appreciate the concept, significance and application of Time management and sensitized them to participate actively during the session with greater enthusiasm and expectations.

Initially to get connected with the participants, ice breaking session was conducted to get affiliated with each other by introducing each other with sharing their feelings and disclosure of strengths and weaknesses so as to predict personality traits of the participants.

Prof. Shilpi Rana presented slide show in order to illustrate a systematic and organized over view of Time Management and Problem solving in day to day personal and professional life and how to balance work life of working females.

Time Management activity (Group Juggling Game) was conducted by Prof. Yachna Malhotra and Prof. Shilpi Rana among the participants to make them understand how to perform duties and responsibilities during the shortest time period judiciously without exerting stress with complete involvement and participants were over whelmed with the outputs and experiences they had during the game. Again this was followed by Simon Says activity, problem solving activities and ultimately by Query Handling , where participants shared their problems and got insight to resolve such problems.

Dr. M. K. Jha offered thanks to all participants for their patient listening and active participation during the session. The essential arrangements and hospitality hosted by school principal was praise worthy.

Utthan Lab Activity

2nd Session of Utthan - CSR initiative of I.T.S, Ghaziabad was organized on 18th August'18. The day was dedicated to “Social Media”. On this day, students were briefed about advantages and disadvantages of Social Media with small efforts with a practical session in Computer labs and Presentation Competition.

Volunteers of the day – Rishav, Shubham, Babita, Shubhodeep, Kiron, Vaibhav, Prakriti, Maansi, Geetika, Saloni, Nagesh, Sakshi, Shraddha, Neha, Prerak, Sumitro, Pranshu, Siddharth started the day with the brief on the day’s activities and the competition.

The talk of the day was on ‘Importance of Social Media….’ during which the efforts to be put in to be updated via social media were discussed. The session was started by Prof. Nitin Saxena and Prof. Shilpi Vaish with explanation of merits and demerits of Social Media. After this, Shubham Aggarwal and Babita Bisht of PGDM I showed them a PPT on Social Media and discussed its importance.

The second part of the day was a practical session in the computer labs. The children were taken to Lab 1 and Lab 2 where the task was to search and explore about the Social Media and its uses. The children entered the designations into Google and read the details on Wikipedia.

The last part of the session was an Presentation Competition during which all the children shared their views declaring – ‘Importance of Social Media'.

For 10 small aged children, Dance Competition was organized as they were not able to discuss and understand about Social Media.

The Director Management – Dr. Ajay Kumar Sir also motivated the children through his inspirational talk. He not only motivated the students but also shared the ways they can be updated and gain knowledge through Social Media.

There was a Prize Distribution where 40 students were given prizes like Pencil and Pen kit, Geometry Pouch and Colors etc. for nicely presenting their views on Social Media and showed their talent in dance competition.

Department of Management organized Friday Club Activity

The Friday Club Meeting planned an interactive session of Prof. Nitin Saxena and Dr. Garima Srivastava. The topic of the discussion was: “All About Money: Options Available in India for Investment”, Prof. Nitin shared various investment options like, FD, PPF, Senior Citizen Saving Schemes (SCSS), RBI Bonds, Life Insurance, Mutual Funds, Real Estate, Gold etc. He talked about the features of ULIPS and how the charges by the company are being taken with the passing years? He compared various investment options and their returns. He also talked of primary and secondary equity markets. He also discussed about IPO’s as investment option. Prof. Kalra also shared his views about IPO’s and he supported his argument by giving examples of Banking Sector and Reliance IPO’s. Prof. Nitin discussed about the thinking process of a general investor and the returns he receives after a stipulated period. The discussion was highly informative with Prof. Kalra and Dr. Shuchita Singh sharing their views on investment options.

The second presentation was from Dr. GarimaSrivastava. She had attended “Marketing Meet 2018” at GD Goenka University on 20th April 2018. The theme of conference sessions was onMarketing Technology and the Consumers and the sub theme was Leveraging Technology for Effective & Efficient Engagements with Consumers.

The conference had focused on the rampant use of digital media and about the changing eco-systems.

The discussions were highly informative.

Interaction with Mr. Tong Cheuk Fung in Friday Club.

The Friday Club Activity at Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad, was an interactive session of Mr. Tong Cheuk Fung. He is affectionately referred to as “Uncle Tong” by his staff. He is the founder of WASABI Creation. The company acts as a middleman for other brands hoping to expand into new markets in South East Asia, providing services such as consultancy, execution, project management, market research studies etc. After graduating from NUS Engineering, Mr. Tong worked in a Japanese Bio-diesel company as a chemical engineer. He founded WASABI Creation in Singapore, after his initial exposure with various companies.

Mr. Tong initiated an interactive question-answer session with the faculty members. Dr. Sanjeev Tandon enquired about the various challenges faced by the company, while entering a new market. Mr. Tong talked about market research, competition, customer perception for a new product or the existing products, as a big challenge faced by the company. Dr. Garima enquired about the cultural limitations faced by the company. The response shared was about variety of food habits, taste preference of Singapore citizens, which is not matching Japanese taste and preferences. The company educated the people about cooking processes to be introduced in the market. A Cultural and religious challenge for Muslim tourists was also addressed to suit their eating habits in Singapore. Dr. Satish enquired about the similarity in culture of Japan, Singapore and China. Mr. Tong talked about product quality, service offered and product offering in these three countries. The differences on these factors were also shared by him. Dr. Sanjeev Tandon enquired about environmental consciousness of his company and the initiatives taken.

Mr. Tong explained Japanese culture and consciousness about clean energy. He shared about his experience with a bio-diesel company in Japan. He explained the consciousness of companies in Singapore regarding hygiene and clean energy. Singapore is not as strong as Japanese way of life regarding environmental consciousness. Dr. DK Pandey enquired, “Why should anybody work for WASABI Creation?” Mr. Tong attempted the question very intelligently stating that, “it’s on the employee to find reasons to work with them. The aim of the company is to grow together. The employee should not take his work as a burden. Dr. Surendra asked about collectivism, which was answered sharing various examples of Japan & Singapore culture.

It was a very interactive and informative session.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

5th August 2018, activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad, was a day that seemed to be against us. There was the fear of all our plans being thrown into disarray due to the torrential rain. However the Luck smiled on us, as we were able to take refuge in the garage of the Fire Brigade station, where some arrangements had been made for the kanwariyas.

The volunteers for the day were Hitesh Sharma, Aprajita Srivastav, Samina Khatoon, Utkarsh Yadav, Anand Kumar Jha, Anjali Kumari and Anjali Singh.

The first session was started by Hitesh, who began by reminding the children that it was International Friendship Day. They were told to wish one another on this occasion. Hitesh also emphasized on what being a good friend is all about by telling the children a story.

In the next session Aprajita decided to explain the concept of solar and lunar eclipses to the students. To the wide eyed wonder of the students, she explained how eclipses occur and how we can differentiate solar and lunar eclipses.

Finally Samina came forward to hold a session on spellings. The children joined in enthusiastically to brush up on the spellings of words.

Despite the rain and the occasional disturbances from the kanwars on the adjacent road, it turned out to be a useful exercise for the children as they came to learn several new things.

The activity concluded with the distribution of “Butter Bite biscuits” and “Mango Bite toffees”. Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers. Prof. Lokesh Upreti guided the volunteers in the conduct of the programme as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.

Department of Management organized Friday Club Activity.

Department of Management organized Friday Club Activity in the Management Learning Centre on 3rd August 2018.Club activity was initiated by Dr. SanjeevTandon, who spoke of his experiences while attending the meeting of the Ghaziabad Management Association. Participating institutes included IMS, Ajay Kumar Institute of Management, IMT Ghaziabad, KIET, etc. 
The items on the agenda, which were deliberated on during the meeting included:
·       Starting incubation programs in the institutes – It was decided that students would be encouraged to be involved in these programs
·       Including student executive members in GMA – This would be made free of charge, so as to encourage active participation from the side of the students
·       Initiating SIP Programme – The effort would be towards allowing the students to be involved in good companies 
 

The second speaker for the day was Dr. Shuchita Singh, who talked about the Second Edition of the CII Regional Insurance Conference 2018 on Customer Centric Insurance. 
The inaugural session of the conference was graced by luminaries like Mr. Trevor Bull, CEO and MD, Aviva Life Insurance Company India Ltd.; Mr.Joydeep K. Roy, Partner, Insurance and Allied Sectors, PwC; Dr SrinivasaRao N, Economic Advisor, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India; andNileshSathe, Member (Life), Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). The deliberations revolved around digitalization of services. 
There were three plenary sessions Visualizing Professional Advice in a Digital World; Building Deeper Bonds with the customer in a Digital Era; and Data Science versus Actuarial Science – The Future. 
It was a very informative interaction covering myriad areas of interest for the assembled faculty members.
