Attended Release Programme organized by ICRIER
Faculty of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad, Dr. Rajeev Johari attended the Report Release Programme organized by ICRIER supported by the World Bank Group and ILO on 28th of February 2019. The programme spreading across the span of the day featured deliberations from distinguished national and international experts from NSDC, NITI Ayog, World Bank and ILO etc.
Dr. Arpita Mukherjee, professor at ICRIERdelivered the welcome address. Gladys Lopez- Acevedo, lead economist at World Bank gave a brief presentation of the report“Exports to Jobs- Boosting the Gains from Trade in South Asia”, addressing the general issues characterizing the South-Asian countries. The issues taken up by her included high population growth of almost 60%, magnitude of informal jobs immensely exceeding that of formal jobs and related issues. She expressed that the trade to GDP ratio have came down from 55.8% to 41.1% from 2012 to 2017.Daniel Samaan, senior economist at ILO stated that the solution for these was the main thrust of the report, and emphasized on enhancement of export in South Asian counties. In order to increase export three policies have been suggested in the report, which areIncrease the scale of exports, Change the composition of exports to help the disadvantaged workers and Change the composition of workforce to help the disadvantaged group.
Amitabh Kant, CEONitiAyog spoke about Global Value Chain and the need to have single objective to focus on. He stressed on the improvement required in the quality of jobs available in India. He also made special address to the MSME sectors to help exports.Manish Kumar, MD-CEO, NSDC shared inputs regarding government’s policies to encourage skilled workers by giving marginally high wage rate. He also stated that large percentage of workers are skilled but not certified. Ms. Sabina Dewan, ED of Just Jobs network threw light on strategies for job creation and workforce development.
During the course of the panel discussion several new debatable issues emerged like ‘Should India focus on its huge domestic market or on exports only’? ‘How should the composition of exports be formed?’ Trade deficit is a problem featuring South Asian countries, the issue of ‘how to increase exports in this scenario?’ also cropped up.
The illuminating exchanges concluded on the note that exports undoubtedly can increase jobs in a country but we also need to consider a host of other specific aspects to handle the problem of job scarcity in South Asian countries.

Dr. Vidushi Singh attended SPOC Felicitation Workshop IIT Kanpur
Dr. Vidushi Singh had attended SPOC Felicitation Workshop conducted by IIT Kanpur at Outreach Center,Kanpur on 19th January2019. Objective of the workshop was to felicitate SPOCs of those colleges in which students were top scorer, and participation of the faculty and students were good in number. Prof. Satyaki Roy National Coordinator, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur, Ms. Lalty Dutta, Project Manager, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur, Ms. Angana Sengupta Coordinator, Local Chapter, IIT Kanpuralong with SPOC’s of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh , PunjabJammu& Kashmir and North East states were present.
Dr. Vidushi Singh received Certificate of Appreciation for Active SPOC for the Swayam-NPTEL Local Chapter for I.T. S Ghaziabad for July-October 2018 by Prof. Satyaki Roy National Coordinator, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur.

Students of MBA-IIyr participated in United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF) Alumini Fair
Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized visit in United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF) Alumini Fair 2019 on Sunday 06th, 2019 at USIEF, New Delhi, along with two faculties, Dr. Namita Dixit and Dr. Sanjeev Tandon. USIEF promotes mutual understanding between the Nationals of India and US through educational exchange of scholars, professionals and Students. It's services includes granting scholarships and grants in almost all academic discipline, advising Indian students on higher educational and job opportunities, fellowship support and academic dialogue between both the countries.
Students got insights to the future development and meticulous strategic planning to explore viable ways of future course of action.
Students met Alumini from around 80 + US university including university of Illinois, Springfield, university of South Florida(USF) , Miami University,Oxford Ohio, The University of Texas at Arlington, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, Ohio State University, Syracuse University in Florence, Madrid and Strasbourg, Bentley University MA, University of Alabama, University of South California, University of Wisconsin -La Crosse among many others.
This was a very informative for students.

Faculty of Department of Management attended SHRM India National Public Enterprises Conference
Dr. D K Pandey and Dr.Charu Chaudhry, Faculty of Management Department at I.T.S , Ghaziabad attended SHRM India National Public Enterprises Conference on 18th December, 2018at the SCOPE Complex, New Delhi. The theme for SHRMPEC 2018 was 'Unite to Ignite'.The objective of conference was to bring together diverse elements of business, strategy, and people, to harnesses the power of unity and thus redefining the future of HR in public enterprises.
The conference commenced with an interesting panel discussion on ‘New Challenges of leadership in the Emerging Business Environment’ highlighting the dynamic business environment anddirect competition of Public organizations with agile Private Organizations . Mr. Suresh Sethi, MD & CEO, India Post Payments Bank discussed about Igniting Transformational Change. In this session, he shared insights on how to drive change at a transformational level in the organization with an example of Indian post office system. Mr. Prithvi Shergill Advisory Partner, Tomorrow/Smarten Spaces & Former CHRO – HCL deliberated on role of talent analytics in HR and its implementation in PSEs. A panel on Future Ready PSE Leaders explored into what attributes leaders must have, to be Future Ready.Mr.Stephane Michelin, Chief Executive Officer, Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services, India, elaborated the relevance of new-age employee benefits in the digital world to keep a highly motivated and productive workforce. Panel discussions also delved into strategies to engage and motivate employees and how to utilize CSR funds for the growth of a new India by 2022. Ms. Garima Garg Director, Deloitte India shared insights on the future of work and HRs changing role. Mr.D.D Misra, President, "Janm" Trust and Former Director HR, ONGC, had drawn very interestinginsights from Indian Mythology, the Ramcharitmanas, focusing on the three attributes of God Hanuman to create learning for employees. Conference also witnessed the launch of ‘A Stranger Truth', book by Ashok Alexander Founder-Director of ‘The Antara Foundation’. He is the man who led the India office of ‘Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’ from its inception in 2003, until 2012 and created Avahan, which became the best ever private prevention program in HIV, and a model of scaling up health delivery.
In nutshell, the conference was an eye opener on various dimensions of HR as well as PSEs challenges & perspective related to workforce, HR strategies and expectations of all stakeholders including government as one of the key player.

Dr Umang delivered Session at BVICAM
Dr Umang delivered Session on “Routing Protocols for IoT” on 21st May 2018 in in Two Weeks Faculty Development Programme on “Emerging Research Trends in Computer Science and IT” from 14th - 26th May, 2018, organized by IEEE Delhi Section & IIPC (AICTE) of BVICAM, New Delhi, in collaboration with IEEE Computer Society (Delhi Section), CSI Delhi Chapter & ISTE Delhi Section at BVICAM, New Delhi.
The session had witnessed the participation of 40+ young faculty members and researchers from renowned colleges and universities. In this session, various communication technologies and its impact on different real-life applications were discussed. While discussing about proliferation of technologies, a detailed discussion on IoT devices in MANETs, Vehicular Ad hoc Networks & FANETs, IoT based Routing Protocols RPL and its empirical research issues was presented. In addition to this, Introduction of Cisco Packet Tracer, NetSim, its Importance, types of Network Simulators, Requirements and simulation of IoT devices were also explained through demonstration using Cisco products.

Management Faculty attended workshop on “Stress Management”.
Management Faculty members Dr .Manoj Kumar Jha , Prof. Ritu Saxena & Prof. Bhawna Bhardwaj attended One day workshop “Achieving Excellence Through Stress Management” for corporate and academia, organized by Brencis Group ,Centre for Research, Training & Consulting at Radisson Noida.
The Session was conducted by Dr. Amita Srivastava Director BCRTC. The workshop was graced by the presence of President Noida Management as the guest of the event.
The session objective was to resolve stress, how to make life healthier and happy, how to overcome the fear , balancing between heart & brain , how to make life energized & how to control our minds.
The session was full of activities to reduce stress, stress test and burnout test. Dr. Amita enlightened the “Flight or Fight” concept, causes of stress. She talked about the action oriented & Emotion Orientation approaches also.
The workshop was based on experiential learning and wonderful experience for participants.

Dr.Rajeev Johari faculty of Management Department had the privilege to attend the “10th Annual International G20 Conference” From Global Cooperation to Building Consensus: Views from G-20 Countries on 11-12thOctober, 2018 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
G – 20 members are heterogeneous with varied levels of development, economic growth, spread of technology and financial strength. Apart from the G-20 members, other multilateral institutions and international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and the World Trade Organisation (WTO) participate in the discussion at the G-20 Summit and pre-summit planning. While the members cooperate against economic crunches, cooperation without consensus could be futile in the long run when countries are governed by varied political ideologies and policies.The 13th Annual G-20Summit to be held in Argentina is centred on the topic “Building Consensus for Fair and Sustainable Development”.
ICRIER has been organising annual international conferences since 2009 prior to the G-20Summit. The discussions in these Conferences have provided a platform for engaging eminent researchers, academicians and policymakers in rich debate on topics of relevance to the G-20 Summit.The broad topics and the impending questions or issues covered in the two day conference wereEvaluating Global Financial Architecture and Regulatory Practices, Future of Work,Trade, Investment and the Multilateral Process, Role of Technology for Mitigating Climate Change, Crypto- Currencies and Blockchains - The Right Approach, Financing Infrastructure for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Food Future.

Participation of Faculty-IT in Mail Today 7th Education and Skill Summit 2018
Dr. Umang along with Prof. Smita Kansal attended 7th Mail Today Education and Skill Summit 2018 on 27th September, 2018 at Hotel Oberoi, New Delhi.
The Summit was focused towards the government’s objective to drive the right to education being implemented as a fundamental right. The Summit was packed with the sessions delivered by the eminent speakers from the Academia & Industry.
The welcome address was delivered by Raj Chengappa, Group Editorial Director (Publishing), India Today Group.
The Inaugural address was delivered by Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister of Ministry of Human Resource Development. Mr. Javadekar touched upon Education and discussed about importance of it for transforming a human being into resource for country. He said that, government schools like kendriya Vidyalaya and Navyadya Schools are giving good CBSE results as compared to private schools. He has answered all the queries raised during the discussion with audience.
Raj Chengappa thanked Union Minister of Ministry of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar for taking the lead in delivering the inaugural address. Chengappa further announced that the summit will see the impressive line-up of addresses by the Union Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbaz Naqvi, and later on by Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia, followed by the State Cabinet Minister of Vocational Education and Skill Development, Uttar Pradesh, Chetan Chauhan.
