Prof. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi Attended 10th International Conference on English Language Teaching & Learning.

Prof. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi attended a three day 10th International Conference on ‘Learning and Teaching English in India : Setting Standards’ organized by English Language Teachers’ Association of India (An associate of IATEFL, UK and Affiliate of TESOL, USA). 

The conference was organized at RKGITW, Ghaziabad on 9th, 10th and 11th July, 2015. More than 220 teachers of English from across the country and the world participated in this highly reputed conference and presented their papers.

The conference was also addressed by Mr. Michael Connolly, Asstt. Director, English, British Council, British High Commission and Ms. Diane Miller, Regional English Language Officer (RELO), US Embassy along with other eminent speakers from reputed universities and institutions of India and abroad.

Prof. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi shared his views in the conference and presented his paper on the ‘Bilingual Approach in Teaching English to Hindi Medium Students’ which was appreciated by all.

Dr. Vijesh Jain attended Unique Higher Education Seminar on “Internationalization of Higher Education and Quality Issues.

Dr. Vijesh Jain, Associate Professor, I.T.S, Ghaziabad attended a very important and useful one day seminar titled - ‘UNIQUE Higher Education Seminar-Internationalisation of Higher Education and Quality Issues” on 30th June 2014 at BIMTECH, Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida (NCR).

Selected heads of the institutions were invited for this exclusive seminar cum MDP. The event was jointly sponsored by EPSI, New Delhi and BIMTECH, which is also a partner to an European Union funded project on Higher Education Quality Framework with FH Joanneum Applied University, Graz, Austria; World University Service, Austria; Universida de Alicante, Spain; Voronezh State University, Russia; University of International Business and Economics, China; Intstituto Technologico de Monterey, Mexico; Polytechnic of Namibia, Namibia; and Aston University, UK. This project was launched in October 2013 and has engaged with academia and policy makers to investigate the facets of quality aspects in higher education and how can Indian system be aligned with the global systems. Many knowledge packets have been produced on European System, and Indian, Russian, Chinese, Mexican and African system including Need Gap Report, International Mobility Document, and Knowledge Framework.

It is now in the third phase which invited higher engagement and interactions within the system and a greater interaction with their mentor partner Aston University, UK. Aston University is one of the top Universities in UK and Europe and has all three most credible accreditations of business education.

Since, Indian B – Schools are already re-orienting their Higher Education systems to graduate to the next level of quality framework for Higher Global Integration, an interaction with Aston University representatives Mr. Rebecca Aggarwal (project researcher) and Mr. Wendy Yip (Director – International Developments) was organized during the seminar, on BOLOGNA process, AACSB accreditation and the experience on managing quality in long run.

Both the executives from Aston University shared their valuable experiences on the accreditation process and overall quality enhancement process. The seminar was an eye opening event giving insights into road ahead for established B-Schools in India. Dr. Rahul Singh, Associate Professor, BIMTECH conducted the seminar. It was a highly interactive event.

Industrial Visit to TCS, Noida

Department of I.T organized one day Industrial visit of MCA-IV Semester students to TCS, Noida on 24th April, 2015.

It was a full day visit. Total 25 students had visited TCS, Noida along with Director (IT), Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, Prof. Puja Dhar, Prof. Sauresh Mehrotra, Prof. Varun Arora and Mr. BalMukund. It was a full day session started with a welcome note by Mr. Mudit Mathur, Regional Operation Manager and Mr. Vishal, Operations Lead, TCS, Noida. While addressing about the Tata Consultancy services, Mr. Tarun Nehra, Global Operations Head also guided the students about the recruitment process in the companies. After a tea break students enjoyed the video about “Keepers of the Flame” which showed the actual history behind the birth of TCS in India.

In next session Mr. Mudit Mathur briefed about their ongoing project TCS iON. He explained the advantages and working of this project. After a Lunch-break Mr. Harjit Singh, Senior Consultant, TCS, Noida talked about the Cloud Computing, its benefits and various services provided by it. There was also one HR session where students enjoyed the Team Building exercise by participating in various games. At the end of the session Mr. Vishal delivered vote of thanks.

Students were all the time interacting with the speakers regarding their queries related to the recruitment process, working culture of TCS and what they look into the fresher. Students were very happy at the end of the day.

Prof. Lalit Kumar Sharma attended a Seminar on "Entrepreneurship in the Globalizing Economy & Women Economic Empowerment" as Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker.

USD Consortium of Skill Development & Women Empowerment, New Delhi organized One day Seminar "Entrepreneurship in the Globalizing Economy & Women Economic Empowerment" on 2nd April 2015 in New Delhi.

Prof. Lalit Kumar Sharma from ITS, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad attended the seminar as Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker. He shared his viewpoint on importance of entrepreneurship in India and challenges for women entrepreneurs in India, He also discussed the institutional framework to promote entrepreneurship in India. Around 200 participants from NGOs, Micro Entreprises, College students participated in the event.
