Dr. Vijesh Jain presented research paper at IIM – Ahmedabad.
Dr. Vijesh Jain, Professor, I.T.S, Ghaziabad presented a research paper titled - Nature, variations and preferences in ‘level of comfort’ among employees with different national background at 4th Pan IIM World Management Conference, held at IIM – Ahmedabad, New campus between 12th Dec to 15th Dec, 2016.
The paper was authored by Prof. Vijesh Jain along with the second author Dr. Susana Costa e Silva, from Catholic University of Porto, Portugal. In addition to the paper presentation Prof. Vijesh Jain also participated in 2 pre conference workshops on – Research writing and SEM.
The conference is part of a series of PAN IIM World Management Conferences and was 4th in this series. The next conference will be held at IIM – Lucknow. The theme of the 4th conference was – India – towards better governance. A total of 125 research papers from across the world were selected for presentation at the conference. Several parallel track of paper presentations were held at the conference. The highlight of the conference was the keynote address during the inaugural of the conference by by Prof. Peter Ronald deSouza, of Center for the study of Developing Societies along with Director, IIM A, Prof. Ashish Nanda, followed by a panel discussion by 16 directors of different IIMs in India. Several foreign professors, researchers and industry persons attended the world conference.

Management faculty members attended one day seminar on “Inter-linkages between exports and employment” organized by EXIM Bank of India, Mumbai.
Prof. Vijesh Jain, Prof. Shuchita Singh and Prof. Parul Gupta attended an important seminar in Delhi on 5th Dec, 2016 at New Delhi. The seminar was organized by EXIM Bank of India, Mumbai.
Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank), in its endeavour to promote and facilitate India’s trade and investment, periodically brings out research publications focusing on various countries, regions, and industries as also macroeconomic issues of relevance to international trade. With the increasing significance of the role of exports in supporting employment, Exim Bank felt the need for undertaking a Study to map the inter-linkages between exports and employment. Such kind of analysis has been conducted by institutions in other countries, such as the US Department of Commerce (for USA), and the European Commission (for Europe). A Study titled “Inter-linkages between Exports and Employment in India”, has recently been completed by Exim Bank. Exim Bank conducted the Seminar based on the theme of the Study, during which the findings of the Study was presented.
The Seminar was held at Magnolia Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

On 3rd dec, 2016, Prof. Nitin Saxena (Chairperson- MBA) and Dr. Puneet Kumar (Asst. Prof- Finance) attended a seminar on "Wealth creation through Investing in Stock Markets–The Common Sense approach” at India International Centre, Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi.
The seminar was organized by Edge Institute of Financial Studies (EIFS) Pvt. Ltd. EIFS conducts "Wealth creation and other areas in Stock Markets and encourages people to start investing in the Stock Market for building Wealth and contributing to the economy as a whole. Prof. Anuja Roy presented Case at International Conference On Management Cases at BIMTECH.
Prof. Anuja Roy presented a teaching case titled : “ MART: A Business Enterprise With Social Heart” in the International Conference On Management Cases (ICMC) 2016 Organized by BIMTECH in association with George Masson University- Schar School of Policy & Government, Arlington, Virginia, USA on December 1-2, 2016 at Bimtech campus.
ICMC 2016 aimed at international relevance and encouraged case writers from all over the world to participate and share their experiences on a platform created for academicians, practitioners, consultants, research scholars and students of management studies. The event focussed on the central theme of “Case Development to Encourage Transformational Learning.”
Keynote speaker for the session was Trevor Williamson from The Case Centre. Trevor emphasized on the case teaching method as one of the important pedagogical tools in management teaching. He focussed on teaching through a process of transferring a case idea into a teaching case, a teaching note and a teaching plan.
The Conference has been a great platform to learn, share and connect with delegates from all over the world.

Faculty Members from Department of IT Attended “Training on Digital Evaluation”at AKGEC
Six faculty members of Department of IT including Prof. Rakesh Roshan, Prof. Abhay Ray , Prof. Smita Kansal, Prof. Vidushi Singh, Prof. K. P. Singh and Prof. Varun Arora attended training on digital evaluation at AKGEC – Ghaziabad organized by AKTU Lucknow on 2nd –Dec -2016 during 10:30AM to 1:00 PM.
This training was focused on the working of software for the digital evaluation system of AKTU Lucknow developed by IntelligiExam Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Bhushan Verma was the key resource person for the demonstration of this training programme. Mr. Verma demonstrated and discussed the latest updated version of software for the digital evaluation to the participants in interactive manner . At the end of training Mr. Verma handled the queries raised by participants of different colleges from Ghaziabad.
Definitely this training will help us to conduct digital evaluation assigned by the AKTU Lucknow smoothly

FICCI HR Conference attended by Management Faculty Members.
Dr. D K Pandey, Dr. Charu Choudhry and Prof.Shikha Arora from Management Department attended a Conference organised by The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on human resources titled “HR Best Practices” in New Delhi on 7th and 8th November 2016.
The theme of the conference centred on the changing dynamics of the recruitment industry and how the human resource professionals can implement the best practices in order to nail the very best of talent pool.
The two-day event witnessed presence of HR professionals, corporate leaders, recruiters, academicians, thought leaders and speakers specifically from the HR industry.
Inaugural session was presided over by Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs) and managing directors. Speakers included MadhaviLall, Head HR, Deutsche Bank, PrithviShergill, CHRO, HCL Technologies, and Mr. SaugataMitra, Group Head, HR, Mother Dairy Pvt Ltd.
The introduction was followed by the first panel discussion of the day titled, “A Journey from Classroom to Boardroom”. Speakers and moderators of the session included Ms MadhaviLall of Deutsche Bank, Ms Neeti Sharma, Co-Founder Team Lease, Prof. Amit Mookerjee, Dean and Head, IIM Lucknow, Noida Campus, Dr. Jitendra Das, Director, Fore School of Management and Mr Rajeev Kumar, Global Head, Campus Hiring, Wipro Limited.

Third session of the day, focused on the concept of “Onboarding andEngaging Talent in the Digital Age”. Second session was on ‘Emerging Trends in HR’chaired by Ms. Ester Martinez , CEO & Editor-in-Chief at People Matters.

‘Empower HR through Apprenticeship’.

Attending international Conference on “India Telecom-2016, Transforming India”
The IT-Faculty members including Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey (Director-IT), Prof. Puja Dhar, Dr. Vidushi Singh, Prof. Smita Kansal, Prof. Rakesh Roshan, Prof. Varun Arora and Ms. Babita Kapila along with 34 students of MCA-2nd year had attended an international conference on “India Telecom-2016, Transforming India” on 2nd November, 2016 at Hotel Le-Meridian, New Delhi.
India “Telecom conference 2016” is India’s leading international ICT platform for the global community to connect, debate, network and share knowledge. India Telecom had jointly organized by the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & industry (FICCI), with support from several prominent industry associations.
To improve ease of doing business in India a Simplified Proforma for Incorporating a Company Electronically (SPICe) e-form is to be implemented by December this year. The main objective of launching this e-format was to provide speedy incorporation related services within a stipulated timeframe, in line with international best practices, said Mr. Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Government of India.
As the Chairperson at the plenary session on ‘Ease-of-Doing Business: NexGen Reforms’ at the India Telecom 2016 organized by the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications and FICCI, Mr. Abhishek said that the existing INC-29 was not being used; hence SPICe will be the sole, simplified and versatile form available for incorporation of a company in India. Mr. Abhishek said that India ranked 130th in the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Business’ ranking, an improvement of one rank from the last year, which meant there was a long way to go. Hence the government was working towards dismantling complex processes to create a business-friendly climate in India.
Speaking about the recently released ease of doing ranking of the states, Mr. Abhishek said that a feedback mechanism would be included in the state rankings. The state ranking reflected that the Centre and state governments were working in tandem to improve the business climate in the country. Elaborating on the various initiatives undertaken by the government, Mr. Abhishek said that efforts were being made to reduce physical touch points between the government and private sector interactions with the use of technology to expedite the process of granting licenses and clearances.

The session was moderated by Mr. Ashok Sud, Secretary General, Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India (AUSPI).
The two-day India Telecom concluded with an Open House Session, where Mr. J S Deepak, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India; Mr. N Sivasailam, Additional Secretary (T), Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, along with other senior DoT officials addressed the questions raised by delegates.
Overall it was a new learning experience for all of us.
