Management Faculty attended FDP on Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics.
Dr. M.K Jha and Prof. Bhavna Bhardwaj from Management Department, ITS Mohan Nagar, attended eight days Faculty Development Program on Basic Level - Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics, organized by Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TQEP), Government of India Phase III and AKTU, Lucknow, from 23/6/18 to 30/6/18, at ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad.
The workshop was divided into four different levels:
- Self harmony
- Harmony in the family
- Harmony in the Society
- Harmony in nature and cosmos
The first level concentrated on understanding co-existence of self and body, importance of right understanding, analyzing the importance of relationship and identifying the required physical facilities for self comfort and existence. This session also emphasized on role of our pre-conditionings in our day to day decisions and behaviour.
The second level talked about prosperity in the family. The difference between intention and competencies of an individual was brought about in this session. Thus, the importance of right evaluation of a person’s competencies was discussed very elaborately. The nine core family values were also shared in this session.
The third level talked about extension of family’s harmony with the society. In the fourth level the importance of correlation amongst the four orders of the entire cosmos i.e physical order, pranic order, animal order, human order so as to understand the relationship of mutual fulfillment within each order. During workshop, sessions were organized on video shows, group discussions and experience sharing, thereby, giving a holistic understanding on the subject.
The session concluded with an understanding that mutual fulfillment is inherent in nature to live in harmony and prosperity. The resource persons for the session from university were Shri Gopalji , Shri Manoj Gupta, Mr. Tarique and Mr. Talaan. Around 80 faculty members from different management and engineering colleges of AKTU participated in the workshop.
The purpose of the workshop was to propagate human values to the student fraternity through faculty and thus creating sensitization amongst students for a better, value driven behavior and self development.

Faculty Development Programme on “ Data Analytics with R” at KEC Ghaziabad in Association with E&ICT IIT Roorkee
Two faculty members from Department of IT, ITS Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad ( Prof. KP Singh, and Prof. Abhay Kumar Ray) attended a six days Faculty Development Programme on “Data Analytics with R” organized by Krishna Engineering College ,Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad in Association with E&ICT IIT Roorkee, during 26th -June-2018 to 1st-July- 2018.
The objective of this FDP was to increase understanding of Statistics, data Analytics, Machine Learning with R Programming and its real life applications which will help the participants to carry out various analytical studies.
The said six days faculty development programme was conducted by Mr. Sriraman Rajagopalan. He covered all the basics of R Programming , Apply functions ,processing of different file formats , Basics of statistics in R ,Machine Learning Algorithms like linear regression, logistics regressions ,Decision Tree, Random Forest, Support vector machines, support vector machines, k-Nearest Neighbors ,k-Means Clustering with hands on implementation of these algorithms with R. At the last of this training programme we submitted a mini project based on machine learning algorithm which was evaluated and appreciated by the resource person.
The training programme was very useful and we learnt many new things from this programme.

Dr. Shuchita Singh attended Seminar on Financial Literacy.
Faculty of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad attended seminar on Financial Literacy.
The topic of the seminar was Financial Literacy Awareness Program (FLAP). The seminar was conducted by Mr. Varun Malhotra, IIM A alumnus and eminent speaker on Financial literacy. Mr. Malhotra has conducted such sessions in BSF, CEGR, DAV schools, IIFL and many other Institutions.
The points discussed during the seminar were, Knowing Investing, Understanding Active and Passive income, understanding the risks associated with investing, different investment strategies, like buy and hold, when to buy and when to sell, IPO strategy and the power of compounding.
The speaker not only delivered the talk in a very smooth manner, but also answered the queries of audience in a simple and easy to understand way.
The lecture was highly informative and useful for the beginners in investment world.

PROF. ALOK SINGH PRESENTED A RESEARCH PAPER AT IIM, KASHIPUR
On May 25th, 26th and 27th, 2018, International Conference on Sustainable Management (ICSM-2018) was organized at IIM Kashipur.
The conference saw a great gathering of wonderfully acclaimed speakers throughout the world. This conference was devised to create a platform for discussion on the current and contemporary issues on Supply Chain Management, E- Business, Process Excellence, Optimization and Operations Management. The conference had also allowed the participants to discuss current and pressing issues with senior level executives and academicians from different countries.
On the behalf of I.T.S- Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad; Prof. Alok Singh has participated among the elite galaxy of eminent scholars and presented his research paper titled “An Empirical Framework on Supply Chain Performance Evaluation of Dairy and Milk Products”. Total 142 quality research papers across the world were submitted by different area experts in their different domain of expertise. The conference was inaugurated with benign presence of Prof. (Dr.) Somnath Ghosh (Chair of Center of Excellence in Sustainable Development- IIM Kashipur), Dr. Vishal Gupta (Associate Professor- University of Mississippi), Prof. (Dr.) Gautam Sinha (Founding Director- IIM Kashipur) and Prof. (Dr.) K. N. Badhani (Dean Academics- IIM Kashipur).
This three day International Conference was organized by Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur.

Participation of Faculty-IT in Digital Conclave JobBuzz workplace 2025
Dr. Umang attendedevent titled ‘Workplace 2025: Technology, Talent & Transformation Conclave 2018’ powered by Times Internet Limited.
This event was held in New Delhi on May 4, 2018, which was hosted by India's leading CEOs, CTOs, CHROs and business leaders.
The event was started with a CEO power breakfast, anchored by Gautam Sinha, CEO, Times Internet power Limited. He discussed about ‘The Evolution of Work: New Realities Facing Today’s Leaders’. In this event, Bhavdeep Singh, CEO, Fortis, Suman Reddy Eadunuri, MD & Country Head, Pegasystems, Pankaj Dubey, CEO & Director, Polaris, Rahul Parikh, CEO, Bajaj Capital, Akhil Bansal, Deputy CEO India, KPMG, Paul Dupuis, MD & CEO, Randstad were present.
The highlight of the morning was an exclusive video message by Art of Living’s Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who has introduced the conclave concept to the audience. After that, spiritual session by Sister Shivani from the Brahma Kumaris foundation who guided the audience about the importance of mental well-being in a tech-driven world
Thereafter, the day was comprised of four subsequent panel discussions featuring human resources leaders from companies like Ericsson, Ernst & Young, Welspun, IBM, Cisco, Oracle, Grey Orange, Raymond Ltd, Idea Cellular, Unisys, Uber, Dell, Mahindra Defence Systems Ltd, Biocon, Microsoft, Mastercard, Coca Cola, Cargill India, Coursera, Ipsaa Day-Care, XOXO Day and IKEA India among others. These leaders threw light on the tech interventions happening in their companies and industries at large.
One session worth watching in the afternoon was a robot showcase by Mitra Robot who will conduct a humour session. There were two exclusive CTO roundtable discussions, where technology heads from India’s top companies joined in for an impromptu debate on how to collaborate men and machines and take businesses further.The day was marked by networking opportunities with all delegates and speakers and conclude with ‘JobBuzz New-Age Workplace Awards’.
It was overall good learning experience.

Management Faculty attended 54th Founder Memorial Lecture of Sriram Institute for Industrial Research.
On 26th April 2018, Management students along with Dr. M.K. Jha and Prof. Lokesh Upreti, from I.T.S Ghaziabad, attended the 54th Founder Memorial Lecture of Sriram Institute for Industrial Research on the topic “Innovating on a Carbon Budget”, at Kamani Stadium, New Delhi.
The program began with the welcome address by Dr. K.M. Chacko, Director, Sriram Institute for Industrial Research.
The Chief Guest and Core speaker of the Program was Dr. Jennifer Holmgren, CEO of revolutionary carbon recycling company, LanzaTech, USA. Her lecture emphasized on understanding the waste carbon better. She focused on minimizing the environmental hazards and degradation due to carbon waste. Her deliberations highlighted the research in the areas of generating Energy, Fuel and chemical with the methods which are carbon free. She also highlighted the methods of converting carbon to products and not pollution.
Other dignitaries present were Padmabhushan Dr. Manju Sharma, Shri Tilak Dhar and Shri Anil Gujral.
The visit concluded with the distribution of snacks packets to all the students and a heartfelt good bye to organizers.

FDP attended by Faculty IT at ABES
Faculty members of Department of I.T. including Prof. Puja Dhar , Prof. Saurabh Saxena and Prof. Varun Arora attended one week Faculty Development Program on “Computer Forensics and Cyber Crime” during 23rd April to 27th April, 2018 conducted by Department of Information Technology, ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad under Technical Education Quality Improvement Program- Phase III( TEQIP-III) Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.
The objective of this FDP was to explore legal issues related to cyber-crime and computer forensic, including constitutional rights and legislation, right of privacy, and methods involved in creating legislation concerning cybercrime. The FDP also discussed about procedures for conducting a computer forensics investigation across a variety of software. The resource persons to conduct the program were experts from industry and academia with excellent track record of accomplishment in technical education, research and out-reach. Overall the FDP was a new learning for all the participants.

Management Faculty attended CII National Conference.
Dr. Anusha Agarwal and Dr. Shuchita Singh from I.T.S Ghaziabad attended CII National Conference on Resolving Insolvency in India – Progress and Way Forward, at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi, on 4th April 2018.
The welcome address of the conference was given by Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman CII.
Dr. M S Sahoo, Guest of Honour provided the details of progress achieved by NCLT, after being operational. He mentioned that Tribunals and Judiciary play a crucial role in implementation of IBBI practices. He also mentioned that IBBI is for rescuing the failing organizations.
Mr. Injeti Srinivas, Chief Guest of the Conference, assured that IBBI machinery is in place and it seeks for optimum utilization of resources by corporate.
Mr. Sanjay Gupta, President Institute of Cost Accountants of India, emphasized on more serious valuation and CAPEX Assessment. He also raised the need for more ethical environment for valuation.
First Interactive session was moderated by Mr. Bahram N Vakil and the panel comprised of KR Saji Kumar, ED, IBBI, Pallav Mahapatra, Deputy Managing Director, SARG, SBI and other panelists spoke on issues like, role of states, Classification of Creditors and responsibilities of Resolution professionals.
Second Session was Moderated by Mr. Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The panelists provide the details of selection procedure of Insolvency Professionals, teaching, training and execution of updated curriculum to develop competent Insolvency Professionals.
Third Session was moderated by Shailendra Singh and the panelists discussed the global practices followed at world wide level.
The event ended with the valedictory session. It was a great learning experience for the participants.
