Faculty Attended AIMA 46th National Management Convention
Dr. Shuchita Singh, Prof. Ritu Saxena & Prof. Jyotsana Vaid, Faculty of Management Department alongwith the Director (Management) , Dr. Vidya Sekhri at I.T.S, Ghaziabad attended AIMA's 46th National Management Convention “Creating an Innovative India” on 17th & 18th September, 2019 at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi.
The event started with the welcome address by Mr. Neotia, President, AIMA mentioned about increasing global share and global trade governance. Mr. Sanjeev Goenka, Past President, AIMA and Chairman, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group mentioned about efficiency and innovation in Birla group which has multiplied Birla group by 25 times.Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group mentioned about global uncertainty and he talked about the longerterm view for India to become world’s largest economy.
He mentioned unique Indian way of globalisation covered that bilateral trade between China and USA will be closer.
Mr.Singhania mentioned India as pool of young talent and entrepreneurs. India need to find local solutions to local problems. Mr. Sanjeev Goenka introduced Mr.Amit Shah, Hon. Home Minister, Government of India talked about iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel towards the sovereignty of India. He talked about multiparty parliamentary system in 2014. He mentioned that growth in agricultural and industrial has been taken hand in hand. Mr.Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Law and Justice; Communications; Electronics and IT, Government of India mentioned that if India want to emerge there has to be emphasized on reform, perform in order to transform.
In Next session Pranjal Sharma being the session moderator asked the purpose of AI and Mr. Amod Malviya explained AI as a medium to give personalised access to intelligence. Mr. Sandipan mentioned AI as logical programmingand further ad technological astrology. Amod referred AI as GPT(general purpose technology). Mr. Amod updated that UDDAN is a B2B company, where they deal in fraud detection, forecasting demand, logistics network design, on real time basis. Mr. Rishab talked about identifying skills through AI.
Panel Discussion Economic Reforms for New India was graced by the presence of Sudhir Jalan Chairman, Neo Foods Pvt. Ltd. Panelists Vikram Singh Mehta Chairman, Brookings India & Senior Fellow, Brookings Institution Ajit Ranade Group Executive President and Chief Economist, Aditya Birla Group Akhil Bansal Deputy CEO, KPMG in India TN Ninan Chairman, Business Standard Pvt Limited. In this session major points discussed were measures to boost GDP, support to SME and ease of business to SME.
Panel Discussion Making India a $ 5 trillion-dollar economy in the next 5 years, was actually a good discussion between Mr. Sanjeev Sanyal Principal Economic Adviser in Ministry of Finance Government of India and Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal Past President AIMA & Chairman, Hero Enterprise.
Last session of the day was Ease of mobility: Innovations for faster, safer transportation, witnessed a very motivating address by Mr. Nitin Gadkari Minister of Road Transport & Highways; Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Government of India, who shared the developments been taken to increase transport through water ways and developing network of industrial corridors.
First session of next day was Panel Discussion: - Innovation first: Disruption as Strategy followed by the session Winning in the Digital World, Panel Discussion: - Reviving Growth: An Imperative for India and Creative Nation: Fostering a Culture of Innovation. In this session Mr. Amitabh Kant CEO, NITI Aayog emphasized on India needs to move on from adoption and adaptation of innovations to creating previously unthinkable technologies, processes, products and services. Innovation is not about meeting the needs but about redefining the needs, and it demands a big shift in everyday attitudes and practices.
The Convention was a great experience.

SPOC Felicitation Workshop at IIT Kanpur Outreach Centre, Kanpur
Dr. Vidushi Singh had attended SPOC Felicitation Workshop conducted by IIT Kanpur at Outreach Centre, Kanpur on 3rd August 2019.
Objective of the workshop was to felicitate SPOCs of those colleges in which students were top scorer, and participation of the faculty and students were good in number. Ms. Bharti, Program Manager, NPTEL, Prof. Satyaki Roy National Coordinator, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur, Ms. Lalty Dutta, Project Manager, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur, Ms. Angana Sengupta Coordinator, Local Chapter, IIT Kanpur along with SPOC’s of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and North East states were present.
Dr. Vidushi Singh received Certificate of Appreciation for Active SPOC for the Swayam-NPTEL Local Chapter for I.T. S Ghaziabad for January-April 2019 by Prof. Satyaki Roy National Coordinator, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur.
Before beginning of the session, Prof. Satyaki Roy warmly welcomed the gathering. Ms. Bharti briefed about details of NPTEL, how and when it has been formed, before it was planned to just deliver video lectures, later on it has been shifted to online certification. He also briefed about achievements of NPTEL till date like 30,000+ video hours, 371+million NPTEL website view, 271+ million you tube views etc. He also shared the statistics of number of students and faculty participation from initial years to April 2019. He also communicated how these courses helped students in their placements.
Ms. Bharti also informed that like previous semester this semester also 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks NPTEL courses will be considered as ½ FDP of one week, Full FDP of one week and 1 ½ FDP of one week respectively.
At the end SPOC of various colleges were felicitated by Prof. Satyaki Roy National Coordinator, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur, Ms. Lalty Dutta, Project Manager, NPTEL, IIT Kanpur and Ms. Angana Sengupta Coordinator, Local Chapter, IIT Kanpur.
It was totally an interactive session where SPOC from various universities and institutes of repute discussed about the various courses provided by NPTEL and also gave their suggestions to make these courses more effective for masses.
Overall it was a good learning experience about operation of NPTEL online courses.

Faculty Development Programme on "Learner Centric Pedagogy: Contemporary Tools and Techniques"
Dr V N Bajpai and Dr D K Pandey of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar conducted Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Learner Centric Pedagogy: Contemporary Tools and Techniques" on 17.07.19 at Ideal Institute of Management & Technology, Delhi (IP University).
The session was the part of one week FDP on "Integrated Technologies, Approaches and Effective Didactical Mechanism in Teaching, Learning and Research in current Scenario" organized jointly by MSME Technology Development Center (A Govt of India Organization under Ministry of MSME) & IIMT Delhi.
The session was a demonstration of pedagogy for participants to involve the learners leading to better understanding of concepts and sharpening the transferable skills. Some of the tools for effective quizzing were also discussed with the participants.
More than 50 faculty members of Management, IT and Law from different institutes participated in this FDP.

PG Faculty at I.T.S Mohan Nagar attended Faculty Development Program
PG faculty Dr. Vivek Pachuri attended a Eight Days Faculty Development Program on "Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics" at Indraprasth Engineering College Ghaziabad.
The program was organised under the series of Value Education cell, AKTU. The objective of the program was to make aware and enrich the participants with need of value education and their holistic development which in turn can shape or reshape holistic development of students in today's complex and multidimensional environment. The session were really full of enthusiasm and energy along with learning outcomes. Under this program, I got opportunity and a platform where I could be able to understand process of self exploration with the help of new proposals and basic human aspirations with an excellent of mix pedagogy. I hope and shall try to apply my efforts in a direction to reap more benefits of workshop via process of transformation in self in order to give benefits to my students and society too.

Dr. Umang, Department of IT attended FDP on Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics
Dr.Umang from Department of IT, Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, attended eight days Faculty Development Program on Level 1 - Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics, organized by Value Education AKTU, Lucknow, from 4/7/19 to 11/7/19, at Indraprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad.
The purpose of the Faculty Development Programme was to propagate human values to the student fraternity through faculty and thus creating sensitization amongst students for a better, value driven behaviour and self-development.
The objective of thisFDP was comprised into four different levels along with Value Domain & Skill Domain:
- Harmony in Individual Level
- Harmony in the family
- Harmony in the Society
- Harmony in nature and cosmos
Process of the FDP was based on the verification on basis on Natural Acceptance. The Faculty Development Programme was focused on understanding co-existence of self and body, importance of right understanding, right feelinganalysing the importance of relationship and identifying the required physical facilities for self-comfort and existence. This session also emphasized on role of our pre-conditionings in our day to day decisions and behaviour. Further eminent speaker Ms ManishiMishra,Core Committee Member, Value Education, AKTU talked about prosperity in the family with Hapiness. The difference between intention and competencies of an individual was brought about in this session. Thus, the importance of right evaluation of a person’s competencies was discussed very elaborately. The nine core family values were also shared in this session.
The resource persons for the session from university were Ms Manishi Mishra, Ms. Sumedha, Mr Kaushik and Dr Arunima Mishra, Around75 faculty members from different management and engineering colleges of AKTU participated in this programme.
It was throughout nice learning experience.

Faculty of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad, Prof. Ankur Ahuja successfully completed one week Faculty Development Program on Advance Data Analysis & Techniques: SEM & Econometrics during 24thto 29th May, 2019 at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology.
The FDP was focused on giving hands on experience on Data analysis software’s like AMOS, E-Views & SPSS. FDP was packed with session delivered by Dr. Hamendra Kumar Dangi, University of Delhi & Dr. Sunita Arora the eminent speakers from academia. The Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Amit Gupta, HOD, Department of Management, MAIT.

Dr. Umang invited as Guest Speaker to deliver a Technical Talk on “Vehicular Adhoc Networks and FANET” on 22nd May, 2019
in Two Weeks Faculty Development Programme on “Emerging Research Trends in Computer Science and IT” from 13th - 24th May, 2019 during 09:30 a.m. to 05:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, is being organized by IEEE Del Section & IIPC (AICTE) of BVICAM, New Delhi, in collaboration with IEEE Computer Society (Delhi Section), CSI Delhi Chapter & ISTE Delhi Section at BVICAM, New Delhi.
The session had witnessed the participation of faculty members and researchers from renowned colleges and universities. In this session, Dr. Singh discussed on VANET technologies and its impact on different reallife applications. While discussing about proliferation of technologies, Dr Umang presented a detailed discussion on Adhoc networks, Vehicular Adhoc Networks & FANETs and its empirical research issues. In addition to this, Introduction of Network Simulator, its Importance, types of Network Simulators, Requirements and their simulation were also explained through demonstration using SUMO.

Faculty of I.T.S Ghaziabad attended FDP
Faculty of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad, Dr. Rajeev Johari successfully completed two weeks program of FDP on “Research Gaps in Economics: Issues and Data Sets” during 22nd April to 4th May, 2019
at Mahatma Hansraj College, University of Delhi. The entire program was delivered by distinguished interdisciplinary panel of experts in their specific domain from varied areas of academia, MHRD and policy makers, placed at established institutions like IIM-A, Delhi School of Economics, JNU, ICRIER, NIPFP, IGIDR Mumbai, NITI Ayog, RBI, IGNOU and other prestigious bodies.The rich variety in contents focused on current themes of Economics like public policy, policy research, data mining, Data Sets, Make in India, health economics, GIS, Regression Modeling, SAS, and advanced tools and applications in economics for upcoming markets. It was an enriched learning platform that can be further imparted to students in the area of economics from managerial perspectives. The basic purpose of this program was to act as a refresher and knowledge updationin the area of economics and also inter connect the problems of the society which is faced by researchers amidst the current challenges.
