Faculty attended Budget Viewing Session at PHDCCI, New Delhi
Dr. Rajeev Johari attended the session on budget overview 2020-21 called by PHDCCI at their premises, where distinguished scholars and business stalwartsdelivered their expert opinion on the subjectfollowed by collective viewing of the budget telecast and discussions on it.
Mr. D. K Aggarwal, President, PHD Chamber gave his welcome remarks focusing on health sector of economy as well as on tax reforms as the need of the current economy of the country. There were varied experts from taxation, academia, think tank, industries, media and banking sector who interacted over the opening remarks.
Mr. Gopal Krishna Agarwal National spokesperson of BJP expressed that to reach the summit of economy, we need to focus on investing for asset and make our country an export hub by focusing on every district and the product characterizing it.He specifically mentioned that we are earmarking capital of 5 trillion in next five years reflecting upon the confidence of the current Indian government.
Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, Senior President, PHD Chamber highlighted his views on social sector and infrastructure sector of the economy.Mr. Pradeep Multani, Vice President, PHD Chamber and Mr. Rajeev Talwar and other experts commented on the health sector and corporate taxation.Mr. Lalit Khaitan, Chairman, Economic Affairs Committee, PHD Chamber expressed his views on the working system of cyber security and artificial intelligence as the essential part of our economy.
These were followed by Pin pointed deliberations by Dr. Rajat Kathuria, Director and CE of ICRIER and Dr. Subhash Chandra Pandey, former Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of commerce and Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Ministry of Textiles on the subject of start ups and small scale enterprises towards the boosting up of economy. Dr. Rajat focused on the subject of international and Indirect tax structure. Prof. Rajesh Chadha, Program Director- National Resources, Brooking Institution in his pinpointed deliberation expressed thoughts on institutional growth and foreign investments.
Mr. Rajeev Talwar,Chairman of PHDCCI concluded the session by asserting that we need be multi dimensional while approaching the policies.
Overall the message of the budget speech by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman touches upon the three pillars like aspiration economy, economic development, and caring society for women, enterprises, startup, housing, culture, tourism, infra, taxation and health sector and skill education that should be invested with young minds and engineers.

Faculty Development Program on Clinical Communication& Soft Skills for Doctors conducted
Prof. Yachna Malhotra of I.T.S - Mohan Nagar conducted Faculty Development Program on “Clinical Communication & Soft Skills for the faculty members of ITS Dental College Murad Nagar Campus on 18th and 24th December,2019 respectively.
Prof. Yachna focused on importance of Clinical communication in Medical Profession and for achieving professional excellence. With experiential exercises, and Listening techniques, she sensitized the importance of active listening to improve doctor patient relationship.
The training was a mix of both the slide show coupled with some interesting activities to sensitize the Faculty members (Doctors) for giving effective and quality service in general and making their interactions with patients more polite, clear and result oriented.
An interesting activity on Tree of Time Management was conducted which helped the doctors to understand the techniques to manage time in both their personal and professional life. Various exercises helped participants to identify specific tools they need to use, to gain control of their time for effective decision making. The learning environment was highly interactive and resulted in deep routed team cohesiveness among the participants.

Dr. S.K. Pandey attended ASSOCHAM Annual Conference
Dr. Sunil Kr Pandey, Director (IT) was invited in ASSOCHAM Annual Conference on occasion of completing its 100 Years of existence with Theme on "New India : Aspiring $5 Trillion Economy" organized on Friday, 20th December, 2019 at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi.
The Conference was Addressed by Shri Narendra Modiji, Honorable Prime Minister of India at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi as the Chief Guest. In his address he enlightened the audience with Government initiatives tpo boost the Indian Economy and steps being taken to promote FDI and entrepreneurship. He said the in last few years Country has gained respect from globally and its rank for Ease of Doing Business has jumped to 63rd Position from 142 in 2014. Hon’ble Prime Minister assured that Government shall keep it continued to fuel the Industry and all the concerns of Industry shall be addressed with open mind. He spoke on various initiatives taken by Government of India with Social inclusion of every segment of society.

Dr. Sunil Kr Pandey, Director (IT) was invited as a Speaker in “Global 500 CIO Summit” organized by Enterprise IT Magazine organized during 13th to 15thDecember, 2019 at Hotel Pullman, Aerocity, New Delhi.
Dr. Pandey was invited on Day-2 as a Resource Person to speak and share his perspective on the theme "AI, Machine Learning, RPA and Deep Learning". In this Session other speakers were:

In his address, Dr. Pandey spoke on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, its Business Applications, need of re-skilling and training of employees to prepare pool of competent resource with required skills, opportunity & challenges with systems coming up with applications of AI & Machine Learning and Security Challenges in these applications.
In this 03-Days Summit, about 500 CIOs of globally renowned Companies, CEOs and Top Leaders of all the verticals including IT, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Media, Security, Publishing Houses, Automobile, participated, Transport, Tourism, Public Sector, Government Organization etc.
The session was well appreciated by the Audience.

Faculty Development Programme on “IoT and its application at IPEC Ghaziabad in Association with E&ICT IIT Roorkee
Three faculty members from Department of IT, ITS Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad ( Dr.Umang,Prof. Smita Kansal and Prof. Abhay Kumar Ray) attended one week Faculty Development
Programme on “IoT and its application” organized by Inderprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad in Association with E&ICT IIT Roorkee, during 10th -Dec-2019 to 14st-Dec- 2019. The objective of this FDP was to increase understanding and skill set of Internet of Things (IoT),sensor programming with NodeMCU micro controller, controlling the IoT device form web and mobile apps, storing the sensor data on AWS cloud ,API development for IoT and its real life applications of home automation.
Prof. Dharma P. Agrawal, University of Cincinnati, USA and Mr. Umang Kejriwal ,Technical Expert form IIT Roorkee were the resource person of said one week faculty development programme . Prof. Dharma taken a session on first day based on IoT and its application in our day to day life with simple example of IoT enabled sports shoes , smart bands and their functioning. Mr. Umang conducted the rest workshop on discussion cum hands- on mode . Mr. Umang demonstrated the NodeMCU microcontroller and integration of many sensors(Like LDR sensor , DHT sensor, Smoke sensors , ultrasonic sensor, etc )to this chips and its programming using Lua (Some sort of C/C++)language , blynk app introduction and demonstration, thingspeak framework and its demonstration, AWS integration to the microcontroller and storing sensor data on the AWS database.
The FDP was very useful and we learnt many new concepts and hands-on based on IoT and its application to our day to day life.

Management faculty attended India Today State of States Conclave
Management faculty members Dr Indraneel Mandol and Dr. Rajeev Johari attended India Today State of States Conclave at the ITC Maurya, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on 22nd November, 2019.
The Conclave was being organised by the India Today Group as a continuing programme of recognising the major achievements of the states of the nation within a competitive framework. The Chief Ministers of states like Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Puducherry were present on the occasion along with several ministers and bureaucrats from states that were to receive the awards. MrPrakash Jawadekar, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, was the Chief Guest for the function. The session was presided over by Mr Raj Chengappa, Group Editorial Director (Publishing).
At first the different Chief Ministers came forward to speak of the achievements of their respective governments. Thus Mr V. Narayana Swamy from Puducherry pointed towards the economic development in his state; Mr Jairam Thakur from Himachal Pradesh referred to environmental initiatives and developments in education; Mr Prema Khandu from Arunachal Pradesh explained the challenges of development in a hill state; N. Birendra Singh from Manipur discussed how they had managed to bring insurgency in the state under control.
Then MrJavadekar came forward to congratulate all the states on their accomplishments and quipped that cooperative federalism was exemplified as cooperation through competition. Along with Mr Aroon Purie, founder-publisher and former Editor-in-Chief of India Today, he then unveiled the new State of States issue of the magazine. Finally the awards were handed to all the dignitaries.
The occasion was instrumental in bringing together dignitaries from both the Central and state governments and facilitated the interaction on the roles to be played by each in the New India

Staff Development Program
Prof. Yachna Malhotra, Faculty of Management Department at I.T.S - Mohan Nagar
conducted a training program on "Professional Communication and Stress Management" at I.T.S Dental College, Murad Nagar for the Nursing Staff and staff members of Library and Accounts department on 20th November, 2019.
Initially to get connected with the participants, an ice breaking session was conducted to get affiliated with each other by introducing each other with sharing their feelings and disclosure of strengths and weaknesses so as to predict personality traits of the participants.
The training was a mix of both the slide show coupled with some interesting activities to sensitize the staff members for giving effective and quality service in general and making their interactions with students more polite, clear and result oriented.
An exercise on Stress Management (Ballon Game) was conducted among the participants to make them understand and demonstrate the techniques to handle the day to day stress. Participants were over whelmed with the outputs and experiences they had during the exercise. Again this was followed by Role Plays covering the situations from their day to day work routine in which all the members actively participated and understood the importance of professional etiquettes and how this can increase our efficiency and effectiveness at work place.
Prof. Yachna Malhotra offered thanks to all participants for their patient listening and active participation during the session.
