Prof. Parul Gupta and Prof. Shikha Arora conducted a MDP for Corporate Delegates.

Prof. Parul Gupta and Prof. Shikha Arora conducted a Management Development Program on “Customer Relationship Building” for corporate delegates of Crystal Screening at their office premises in Noida on 19th August, 2017.

The one day workshop apprised the trainees with the essential components which help an organization in building strong customer relationship. The training emphasized the importance of attitude and active communication for having a smooth interaction with the customer. The value of knowing the type of customer and the exclusive ways to deal with them was also discussed by way of interactive exercise. Further the session highlighted the need of having a clear awareness of customer expectations and devising an action plan for the achievement of the same.

The session was made highly interactive by means of ice breaking exercises, energizers and other content centric activities. The participants were highly enthusiastic and participative. The participants exchanged their views and opinions on the subject with utmost excitement and eagerness. At the end of the workshop, the participants were determined to positively enhance their efforts in creating a stronger and long lasting bond with their customers.

Dr. Umang deliver a Guest Talk in FDP at BVICAM, New Delhi.

Dr. Umang was invited to deliver a Guest Talk on “Research Challenges in Adhoc Networks and FANET” on 28th July, 2017 in One Week Faculty Development Programme on “Emerging Research Trends in Computer Science and IT” from 24th - 29th July, 2017, was being organized by IEEE Delhi Section & IIPC (AICTE) of BVICAM, New Delhi, in collaboration with IEEE Computer Society (Delhi Section), CSI Delhi Chapter at BVICAM, New Delhi.

The session had witnessed the participation of 60 young faculty members and researchers from renowned colleges and universities. In this session, various communication technologies and its impact on different real life applications were discussed. While discussing about proliferation of technologies, a detailed discussion on Adhoc networks, Vehicular Adhoc Networks & FANETs and its empirical research issues was presented. In addition to this, Introduction of Network Simulator, its Importance, types of Network Simulators, Requirements and their simulation were also explained through demonstration using Ns2.

Management faculty attended ASSOCHAM’s 11th SEZ and Industrial Parks Summit.

Prof. Parul Gupta and Dr. Anusha Agarwal attended ASSOCHAM’s11th SEZ and Industrial Parks Summit at Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi on 26th July, 2017.

The summit was organized by ASSOCHAM India and graced by Mr. Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary, Honorable Minister of State for MSME,Government of India as the Chief Guest. This one day convention was divided into 4 sessions in which deliberations on various issues related to the Special Economic Zones in India were made by national and international speakers from amongst industry, domain experts andGovernment policy makers.

The Chief Guest of the day, Mr. HaribhaiParthibhaiChaudhary in his address urged the representatives of the industry to take advantage of the opportunities by being proactive to push ahead the cause of SEZs. He also stressed on realizing the need of the nation and to work cooperatively with each other to take the country further ahead in future.

Dr. G K Dwivedi attended a Workshop at Oxford University

On 22nd July, 2017, Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi attended an important workshop on ‘Emerging Trends for English Language and Communication: A Practical Approach’ which was organized by the Oxford University Press at the OUP, Noida.

The Resource Person of the workshop was a renowned educationist Dr. Mukti Sanyal, Principal, Bharti College (Delhi University), New Delhi. The participants were from various reputed universities and colleges like Amity University, Shiv Nadar University (HCL Group), BML Munjal University (Hero Group), SRM University and other prestigious institutions

The full day workshop was split in two sessions. The first session was on the ‘Prominent Changes in ELT Principles in This Decade’ in which Dr. Sanyal insisted for the following points –

  • Content and context based learning: The students wish to learn only what is relevant to their lifestyles and career.
  • Focus has now shifted from the language to the language user.
  • English learning for employability rather than just a language skill.
  • Teachers now have to be a lifelong learner.
  • The second session of the workshop was after the lunch. During this session, the participants were divided into groups of 7-8 people each to discuss the utility of Language Lab for learning a language, its limitations and suggestions to make it more effective. The deliberations were frank and thought provoking.
  • The workshop proved to be enriching and relevant for all the participating English and Communication Teachers. Even participants like Dr. Anannya Dasgupta (from SNU, Greater Noida) who has done her post graduation and PhD from Rutgers University, USA, found the workshop extremely useful.

The programme was full of Learning and interactive session with eminent speakers including Prof. Jamal Farooquie, AMU, Aligarh, Dr. V Shekhar, IIM, Dr. Saurabh Agarwal,IBM, Dr. Neena Sondhi, IMT, Dr. Ajay Chauhan,IMT, Gzb and Dr. A. Ramesh, IIT, Roorkee. Very informative and an eye opening sessions on Formulation of Hypothesis, Research and Sampling Design, Sampling tests like T-test, ANOVA, Correlation Analysis, Regression Models, ANCOVA, Qualitative Research, CFA, EFA and at last about the Plagiarism & Ethical consideration in research and intellectual property.

In this function, Dr. Umang was awarded with “Young Faculty in Science (Computer Application)” during the meet. The objective of this Meet was to provide a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Higher Education. During the meet discussion and deliberation centered around Technical Talks, Research Discussions and Faculty Awards. The Faculty Awards aimed to honor the achievements of faculty and accelerate their role in Educational Institutions across the Globe. The Awards are bestowed in view of recognition of their Role, Outstanding Contributions, Significant Achievements and Sustained Excellence in their area of expertise and significant contributions made in Colleges & Universities. The Awards were bestowed to the Winners of the VIFA 2017 by the Guest of Honors namely Dr. Deborah Andrews, London South Bank University, England, Dr. Kiran K Velpula, University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria, USA and Dr. Myat Thu Thu Win, AIMST University, Malaysia, Dr. Thinagaran Perumal, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia, Dr. Chijioke J Nwalozie, De Montfort University, England at Vijaya Hall Green Park Chennai. Dr. Sunil K. Pandey, Director - IT along with Prof. Sauresh Mehrotra attended IDC Enterprise Cloud Conference 2017 on the theme “Delivering Enterprise DX: Multicloud Infrastructure for the Digital Era” on 6th July, 2017 at Hotel Shangri La, New Delhi.

The conference was focused towards the integration of the today’s Cloud Computing Infrastructure to meet the future needs of the industry for Integration of Cloud Computing Infrastructure for better manageability and performance. The conference was packed with the sessions delivered by the eminent speakers from the Industry.

The welcome address was delivered by Mr Shalil Gupta, AVP, Insights & Consulting, IDC India.

The Keynote address was delivered by Mr Sharyathi Nagesh, Senior Research Manager, IDC and his address was focused on the Future of Multi-Cloud Environments and the proposed Frameworks for putting it into work. He also elaborately explained about the process of creating the CoE at our organization for achieving it.

Session 1 was delivered by Mr Gurdeep Singh, Head, Business Development (North & East), Cloud Security & CDN Services, Tata Communication. His talk was focused on Smart Hybrid Clouds and their binding at a single point provide a one faced business values for the corporate. He also discussed about various case studies in which they have delivered customized solution for integrating various types of Cloud Environments at a single point, which created the business value for their customers.

Session 2 was delivered by Mr Matthew Allcoat, Chief Architect, Asia, Middle East, Africa & Turkey, BT Global Services, BT. He focused on the possibilities of the Future Digital Era which is not so far to come and the possibilities for the business houses to leverage the functionalities offered by the Multi-Cloud Computing Environments using the BT solutions. These solutions had made it much easier to connect and configure multiple clouds platforms according to the business needs.

Session 3 was delivered by Mr Anjan Srinivas, Sr. Director, Product Management, Nutanix. His talk was focused towards the changing business need and leveraging Cloud Environments to fulfill these changing business needs. He discussed about the upcoming challenges and how corporate are making themselves ready to address the future issues with respect to Cloud Computing Environments. He also talked about the Nutanix Single Point Multi-Cloud Hardware Platform which can make this tedious task much easier for the CIO’s and IT Managers.

The entire conference was a worth attending and it exposed us towards the fast changing Cloud Environments and the challenges which are also approaching us in the near future. They also gained information about the various solutions on which various solution providers are working to addressing these challenges.
