20th May, 2017 activity of Utthan Lab, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a soothing and melodious day that included sessions on the current affairs across the world, computer skills and a memorable Singing Competition. Director-IT Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey got emotional seeing the singing talent of little children who were really melodious. Dr. Pandey and Prof. Smita Kansal felicitated the talented little singers with fabulous prizes.

Volunteers of the day – Parag Agarwal, Saloni Garg, Vaishali Malik, Nainsi Yadav, Swapna Dey, and Satender Rana started the day with the brief on the day’s importance, activities and the competitions. Video of the prayer ‘Humko mann ki shakti dena, mann vijay karein, doosro ki jay se pehle khud ko jay karein’ was played.

The first session of the day was on ‘Current Affairs’ during which the latest news from across the world was shared with the children including the mention of Google Lens ( a new feature of Google that detects complete details of the things just by scanning them through camera of the phone) and Kim Jong Un (the dictator of North Korea who is preparing and planning to attack on America).

The Second session of the day was on Computer Skills. The children were taken to Computer Lab 1 and Lab 2 where the task for them was three fold – the first one was creating a New Folder on Desktop, the second one was taking a screenshot of Google Lens search on Google and the third one was to take a screenshot of Google search on Kim Jong Un and save them all in the created folder. Those who did it excellently well with appreciated with special prizes.

The third and the last session of the day was a Singing Competition in which more than 40 out of 130 children participated. The little throats were so good and soothing that everyone including Director IT Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey got emotional. Muskan who sang ‘ha hasi ban gaye, ha nami ban gaye, tum mere aasmaan meri zameein ban gaye’ won the first prize. 20 other prizes were given to amazing little singers.

First, Second and Third Prize winners in the Competition were felicitated with the energy drinks like Boost and Bournvita big packs by hon’ble Director-IT Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey. Prof. Smita Kansal also spared time and encouraged children with her presence and felicitations.

Crax Curls and the large graphic pens were given to all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi guided and accompanied the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of Utthan Lab.
