Tribute to Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

Department of I.T paid tribute to Late Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam on 27th July, 2017. The ceremony began with the briefing about the life history of Late Dr. Kalam by Prof. Puja Dhar, Chairperson-MCA. While addressing the students she said that Dr. Kalam was a hardworking student , who enjoyed spending hours on his studies and for his work on the development of ballistic missile and launch vehicle technology, Dr. Kalam came to be known as “Missile Man of India”. She also said that Dr. Kalam was recipient of Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna and he will always be remembered for his simplicity, humility and inspiring words.
While addressing the gathering Director General, Dr. A.K.Puri also talked about the achievements of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. He said that today India is paying tribute to one of its most dedicated sons and a highly qualified statesman Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam who has left behind him a legacy of self-confidence and determination.

Director IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey while addressing the students said that despite its shortcomings and ailing poverty, India can stand up face-to-face with the rest of world powers, be it in the terms of development, science and technology, education or any other field Dr. Kalam will always be remembered mostly by the youths. Dr. Pandey also said that Dr. Kalam was very simple and down-to-earth personality who was always ready to work for the development of his nation.
Director-Management, Dr. Ajay Kumar also shared his views about Late Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. There was also an oath taking ceremony which was coordinated by registrar, Sh. V.K Saxena. Some students of MCA final year also shared their views about the life of Late Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam.
Department of I.T also conducted some activities for the students of MCA including Quiz-competition, Poster Making and Speeches given by students of MCA final year.
Winners of these activities were also felicitated by the Director General, Dr. A.K.Puri, Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, Director-Management, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Chairperson-MCA, Prof. Puja Dhar, Coordinator-MCA, Prof. Smita Kansal, Registrar, Sh. V.K.Saxena and other faculties of department of I.T were also present in the whole event.
The winners of Quiz Competition include Jay Kumar, Prashant, Anshu, Nitesh, Abhimanyu and the winners of Poster making were Surbhi Singh, Rashmi and Richi Gupta. Himanshu Tyagi was also felicitated for sharing his views about late Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam.
