Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad conducted ‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme on 18th August, 2019, covering the topics of Highest Common Factors (HCF) in mathematics and a story session centering on Rakshabandhan.
Atul began by explaining the concept of HCF in mathematics. He took up some sums to clarify the concept further. Some of the children were called to the board to solve the sums while others solved them in their copies.
Then Kirti came forward to relate the story of King Bali and Goddess Laxmi and how it led to the celebration of rakhi as a bond between brothers and sisters.
Finally Sudhanshu resumed Chhoti Chhoti Baatein, where he explained the role of trust or vishwaas. He pointed out how it was important to keep promises and why we should promise only that which we can fulfill. He also alerted the kids to the fact that we need to be careful about whom to trust.
An impromptu quiz was used to test everybody’s knowledge. Those who answered several of the questions correctly were rewarded with a special ITS Coffee Mug each. Finally it was time to distribute ‘Bikano Namkeen’ packets, ‘Britannnia Good Day’ biscuits and ‘Parle Kachcha Aam’ toffees among the learners.
