17th September, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a Dengue and Chikungunya Awareness Camp organized meticulously by the volunteers of ITS who had come with the cutouts of the mosquitos and the in-depth details of the disease, its symptoms, cure and preventions.
Volunteers of the day Priyanshi Gupta, Arpan Banerjee, Rupam Rani, Rohit Kumar, Shalu Gupta, Richa Sharma, Arpit Sharma, Anurag Kushwaha, Sandeep Kumar Das, George Rudolf Henry and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer ‘Tumhi ho mata pita tumhi ho, tumhi ho bandhu sakha tumhi ho’.

The Dengue and Chikungunya Awareness Camp started with the mention of the deadly diseases, their symptoms and the common procedure of cure. The children were shown the cut-outs of the mosquitoes and were told how fatal they are.
The children were also informed about the difference between both the diseases, precautions and actions required in case of the symptoms of the disease. They were advised not to allow water to get accumulated anywhere, to use mosquito repellants, to clean coolers regularly etc. They were also informed in brief about the platelets and their significance.

At the end of the briefings, a quiz was conducted to estimate the success of the camp and the correct responses were appreciated with prizes like chocolates and cookies. The camp concluded with the distribution of Crax Curls and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.
