The guest lecture started with traditional rituals of the college i.e. with lamp lightening and honoring the guest with plant sampling by the Director Management and the Coordinator PGDM.

The guest were invited to throw some light on the expectations which an organization has from its summer trainees and also understood the expectation of students from the companies. Miss. Vijeta Rana briefed about the qualities which an intern should have in him or her, she made the audience speak what she want to convey and make them realize and aware of the facts. She highlighted few points which an intern must have in him or her before going to the industry to have experience, which gives a good impression on the people working over there. The first and foremost point she focused upon was discipline, which one must be in. discipline covers punctuality, meeting deadlines etc as well as she told about the work styles. She told about the difference between a hard working employee and a smart working employee, on must be a smart worker as hard workers are available easily but the combination of smart and hard work is rarely found and that’s what the companies are looking for. She also mentioned about the attitude. Students must have learning attitude as well as activeness, like taking initiative in doing the work. She gave example of group works where the one who works well can differentiate themselves from the group through his/her work. In corporate most of the work are assigned in teams hence one must be a good team player. At the end she quoted that one must prove her or himself as an asset to the company.

After that, Mr. Amit Gosain shares his views on the theme. He started his conversation with an important aspect. To discuss this further he asked audience “why we feel low sometimes”. Audience answered in different ways and after listening every one he came to a conclusion that we generally feels low when we think that everything is going wrong, our efforts are proven wrong and when we have low self esteem.

He said that a person should do the work at which he or she is best at and if you have to cut your expenses, you must do it for your passion but one must do the work at which he wanted to be best or at which he is best. He emphasized on the quality which generally at the time of interviews, the H.R personnel looks at Passion. Passion is one of the qualities he emphasized. He also mentioned few points about the expectations of the company from an intern by using example of crisp note , crushed note and citing that people like intern which can be articulate like crispy . After this, he interacted with the students who were having several question in their mind and discussed all those in the session and also told the difference between a manager and a leader and what quantities both should posses.

After these valuable words, the PGDM Coordinator Prof. Kapil Mohan summarized as well as highlighted the most crucial points and give the vote of thanks to Guests.
