for MCA and BCA students through the Zoom platform, featuring Dr. Robert Green, Fellow and former Vice President of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, School of Natural Sciences, University of Kent, USA. The session titled “The Hierarchy of Propositions Illustrated in a Case Study” aimed to provide insights into how forensic science uncovers factual information in criminal investigations through scientific analysis of physical evidence. Dr. Green discussed the crucial role of forensic professionals in ensuring justice by examining DNA, fingerprints, trace materials, digital data, and environmental factors with accuracy and impartiality. He illustrated real criminal cases from 1997, emphasizing how scientific methods help determine what happened, when, and how, while preventing assumptions from influencing investigations. The session was highly interactive, encouraging student participation, and enhanced their understanding of the forensic domain and its significance in supporting the criminal justice system.
