Department of I.T organized five days Online Orientation Programme of its newly, admitted 24thbatch of MCA (2020-2022) from 20th November to 24th November, 2020.

On 20th November, 2020 the students were addressed by eminent speakers including Sh. Upkar Singh ,Director Technology, FIS, Global, Noida, Mr. Ram Janam Singh, Principal Software Engineer, Microsoft Corp.,Redmond, Washington & MCA Alumni (2003 batch), Mr. Yogesh Tiwari,(MCA 2001 Batch), Program Manager-Support Functions, ALSTOM Transport and Mr. Manjim Mukul, MCA Alumni (2000-03 Batch), Associate Director, KPMG, Singapore.

In the beginning Chairperson-MCA, Prof. Puja Dhar and Coordinator-MCA, Prof. Smita Kansal welcomed the new students of MCA and wished them best luck for new journey of learning at I.T.S.

While addressing the students Sh. Upkar Singh ,Director Technology, FIS, Global, Noida took the session and very nicely explained about the VUCA world which means Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity. He also advised students to follow 10-E Keys starting from Enthusiasm to enjoying the successful life. He also advised that we should blend humour in our work environment. He very nicely explained about the journey from comfort zone  to growth zone. He advised students that we should program according to what we see and hear. We should generate our thoughts and we should program ourselves in such a manner that so that it can result in excelling your goals.

While addressing the students ,Mr. Ram Janam Singh, Principal Software Engineer, Microsoft Corp.,Redmond, Washington& MCA Alumni (2003 batch) advised  Students to be updated as per the expectations of industry .He said that Students who want to work in Web framework they can start learning UI/Angular JS/ Node JS latest technologies. They can also think about ML/AI/IoT. Students may also take Python which supports ML capability. He talked about all the demanding technologies as the per the corporate demand.

While addressing the students Mr. Yogesh Tiwari,(MCA 2001 Batch), Program Manager-Support Functions, ALSTOM Transport   advised students that they should know about themselves. They should be aware about buzzwords in current IT Market. He very nicely explained about the Art of Project Management. He also emphasized on having the knowledge of Algorithms.

Mr. Manjim Mukul, (MCA 2000-03 Batch), Associate Director, KPMG, Singapore talked about the Digital cyber security, cyber strategy, data loss Prevention, Cyber Transformation. He advised students to work on the basic fundamentals of all the subjects they study during their MCA course. He also shared his experience when he was student of MCA at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad.

On 21st November students were blessed to listen the eminent Guests including Prof.(Dr.) M.M Pant, Former Pro-Vice Chancellor, IGNOU andFounder & Chairman- PlanetEDU, Lt. Col. Prashant Mishra, Vice President, Tata Communications and Maj Gen. Shashi Asthana.

While addressing the students Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey said that Department always provide the Opportunity to students of MCA to work on Industry Projects during studies. In house Skill Development Cell for overall development and Placement preparation modules. He said that Department of I.T. is fortunate to have eminent speakers from industry and academia who will address the new members of MCA Programme during the Online Orientation Programme.

While addressing the students of MCA ,Dr.M.M.Pant talked about the shaping minds for the new millennium. He said that success happens when preparation meets opportunities. He also discussed about the Top 10 skills of year 2021 and technology mega trends in the 5th Industrial revolution.

Lt. Col. Prashant Mishra, Vice President, Tata Communications and Maj Gen. Shashi Asthana wished students best luck for the new beginning. They shared their experiences and advised students to work on the basic concepts from day one of this journey.Students were advised that they should not  keep quiet in the class, they should ask questions and they should develop curiosity and passion within them. It will help them in building confidence and communication skills and scoring well too. It is important to be helpful to others to build trust and work for the betterment of our Country which much required during these pandemic situation

On 23rdNovember, 2020 new members of ITS Parivar were addressed by Yogi (Dr.) Amrit Raj, Rishikesh, Haridwar and Shri. Rahul Mishra, Cyber Security Advisor - UP Police.

Dr. Amrit Raj while addressing the students said that  while performing yoga we always feel energetic and positive waves enters our body . He also advised everyone that we should always be thankful to God for giving us healthy and happy life. He said that we should stay positive and happy always .We should appreciate the efforts of birds, animals which they do for us.  And we should not forget to respect our parents/ teachers and our friends too.

While addressing the students Shri. Rahul Mishra, Cyber Security Advisor - UP Policediscussed about the UPI-Fords. He said that sometimes we are very casual about sharing our account details  with some unknown who pretends to be our bank official. We should avoid searching the customer care number via Google because as Sir said that using SEO hackers can keep their contact details can be at the top. We should be aware about E-Sim card frauds and we should be alert & Aware about safe internet banking and should take care before installing any App and person should report on the same day if any cyber-crime is happened with him/her. We should take care while we are on Social Media.

On 24thNovember, 2020 students were addressed by eminent Guestsincluding Shri Arvind Thakur, Member, Board of Management, NIIT University & Former Vice Chairman and Managing Director,NIIT Technologies Ltd.  and Mr. Shailendra Malik (MCA Alumni-2001 Batch ), Sr. Project Head, HCL Technologies, London, UK.

While addressing the students Sh. Arvind Thakur  advised students to focus on basic and at the same time they have to be aware about the new technologies. He said that  communication is very important to express our knowledge & creativity. Skills are important as it is requirement of industry and at the same time we should build learning attitude and discipline is also important. He emphasised on the reskilling which is important for the survival in IT industry.

During every session students asked many questions which were nicely handled by all the  speakers. Overall the Online Orientation Programme was interactive and full of learning.
