Keeping up with the trend of collaborative efforts, this time it was the Binary Club of ITS which decided to partner with Parivartan for providing an idea about computers to the children. Accordingly Karan, helped by Megha, Shubham and Chetan, talked about the parts of a computer and how the technology transitioned from big, slow and heat producing machines to the smart phones of today. The volunteers had brought along a laptop and some hardware components to explain the concepts.

In the second part of the session, Shubham spoke about the internet and its applications. This was followed by a revision session where questions were put to the students covering the day’s interaction, with those answering correctly receiving a toffee each. The remarkable thing was that the children were familiar with concepts like RAM and ROM, touch screens and computer history.
The day concluded with the distribution of ‘Britannia Tiger Kreemz’ biscuits and ‘Parle Orange Bite’ toffees. Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers. Prof. Lokesh Upreti guided the volunteers in the conduct of the programme as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.
