Volunteers of the day Kriti, Sreyasi Awon, Suman Ananda Dey, Ginni Gupta, Novika Chadha, George Rudolf Henry, Bikram Parajuli and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer and informed the children about the session scheduled for the day.
The First Session of the Day was on ‘Natural Disasters’ which was taken by Ms. Novika Chadha. She, with patience and clarity, explained what a disaster is, its types and dos and don’ts during the occurrence of a disaster. She especially explained earth quake and flood as examples.
The Second Session of the day was on ‘First Aid’ which was successfully conducted by the PGDM volunteer Mr. Rakesh Dam. He started with the question – ‘What would you do if you find someone wounded or hurt?’ Then he collected the responses from various children and compiled them as the right answer by slightly editing it. The children were also told about the contents of First Aid Box, their usage and utility.
Actually both these sessions were complementary to each other and were presented in such a way so that children learn applying First Aid in case of a disaster too. Those who responded correctly to the questions asked at the end of the sessions were felicitated with on the spot prizes.
The class concluded with the distribution of Crax Curls and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.
