30th July, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was an extremely fun-filled activity that attracted everyone around as a big number of slum children participated in the Colouring Competition which concluded with the distribution of Cricket Kit, Badminton Kits, toys, water bottles, fruit juice and tumblers as fabulous prizes to 23 winners. Every participant got a colourset and Munch chocolates as the consolation prizes. Volunteers of the day Shivangi Agarwal, Soma Roy, Vivek Choube, Mayank Chaturvedi, Kaushik Dey, Novika Chadha and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer ‘Tumhi ho mata pita tumhi ho, tumhi ho bandhu sakha tumhi ho’.

The slum children who were informed on the last Sunday that the next Sunday would be the Colouring Competition were quite excited even before the formal announcement was made. The moment the prizes were put for show and encouragement, the happiness and uproar by the slum children went up high to the sky. Soon the rules of the competition were announced.
The volunteers then distributed the drawing sheets and the coloursets to all the children. The drawing sheets had the dotted pictures on them for the convenience of the children and their task was to colour the given picture. Their imaginations and the liking for particular colours went up high. The tiny tots and little grown ones painted the pictures with the brilliant colours.
The best three were given Cricket and Badminton Kits as the First, Second and Third Prizes. 20 others were also felicitated with the water bottles, fruit juice, toys, and tumblers. Each participant got a colourset and a Munch chocolate as the consolation prizes. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.
