The Talk of the Day was on ‘Computer Skills’ during which the children were told about the importance of computer in countless day-to-day jobs. The main parts of computer – CPU, Monitor, Mouse and Keyboard – were explained in detail with the mention of their main functions. The volunteers also talked about the Laptop as a compact computer and showed them the actual laptop. At the end of the talk, the practical started. One by one, each child was invited to type his/her name in MS Word on laptop. This was perhaps for the first time that they had an access to a real computer. That is why each one of them was overwhelmed and excited for his/her turn.
At the end of the theory and the practical sessions, a short quiz was conducted. Those who responded correctly to the questions asked were felicitated with on the spot prizes. Volunteer Shubham Chaudhary had brought Five Star Chocolates for the slum buds which were distributed among them as prizes.
The class concluded with the distribution of biscuits and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.
