3rd December, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a precautionary session on ‘Health, Hygiene and Winters’.
Volunteers of the day Nirja Rani, Robin Chouhan, Varun Arora, Harshvardhan, Tanuj Tyagi, Madhulika Kumari, Meenakshi Singh Tomar, Anumeha Srivastava, Bikram Parajuli, George Rudolf Henry and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer and informed the children about the session scheduled for the day.

The Talk of the Day was on ‘Health, Hygiene and Winters’ during which the children were told about the pros and cons of each weather with special emphasis on winters. The significance and precautions for winters were elaborated for the children with examples. The PGDM volunteer George told them that bathing should not be avoided in winters too unless one is sick. He told them that irregular washing of hair may lead to dandruff. The children were also informed of the benefits of Tulsi, Ginger, fruits, jiggery, green vegetables and other healthy stuff available during winters which gives us warmth, nutrients and countless other good effects.
The children were also told that bathing with hot water may lead to various health issues like – drop in blood pressure, dizziness, nausea, dry skin, wrinkles, hair-fall etc. Therefore, we should bathe with lukewarm water only.
At the end of the talk, a short quiz was conducted. Those who responded correctly to the questions asked were felicitated with on the spot prizes.
The class concluded with the distribution of Crax Curls and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.
