6th November, 2016 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a class in which the pollution prevailed from inside to outside. The air all-around was full of heavy pollution and the topic chosen to discuss with the children was also ‘Pollution’ so that they understand the seriousness and consequences of alarming increase in the pollution.

Volunteers of the day – Neha Vashistha, Pooja Singh (RVS), Shashank Chadha, Saddam Hussain, Kaviraj, Pushpendra, Nidhi Singh, Rajesh Borar, Manoj Sharma and Satender Rana (Dev) started the activity started with the prayer – ‘Itni shakti humein dena data, mann ka vishwas kamjor ho na’.
The class started with the theme of ‘Pollution’. The children were asked if they had mild irritation in their eyes or not. They and the volunteers nodded. Then the reason for irritation, growing menace of pollution, types of pollution, causes of pollution and the remedies to control pollution were described and discussed in detail. The children were told to take utmost care that the air, water and surroundings are not polluted by us. Revision of counting from 1 to 100 in Hindi and English also took place.
The transition from Pollution to Petha gave the children a sweet diversion. ITS Ghaziabad had sent three boxes of Petha for the slum children which they received with pleasure in their little hands and relished the taste.
Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of Parivartan Club.
