Department of MBA organised “Data Analysis using MS Excel ” workshop for MBA 2025-17 batch.

The MBA Department, Institute of Technology and Science, has successfully organized a hands-on workshop titled “Data Analysis Using MS Excel” for the MBA (2025–27) students on 1st December and 2nd December 2025.

The session was aimed at equipping students with essential analytical skills and providing them with practical exposure to widely used Excel-based data analysis techniques.The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Smita Kansal and Prof. Abhay Kr Ray, who brought in their vast academic expertise and industry-oriented insights to deliver an engaging and informative learning experience.

Throughout the workshop, students were introduced to a range of Excel functionalities crucial for managerial decision-making. Key topics covered included:

Data cleaning and preparation

Use of functions and formulas for analysis

Descriptive statistics using Excel

Practical exercises for data-driven problem solving

The hands-on structure of the session allowed students to apply the learned techniques in real time, thereby strengthening their analytical thinking and enhancing their understanding of data-driven decision-making processes.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students clarified their doubts related to business analytics applications and Excel-based modelling. The enthusiastic participation from the MBA 2025–27 cohort made the session highly successful.

Sections C and D, under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). The session was led by Dr. Puneet Kumar and Dr. Smita Barik, who provided insightful perspectives on the evolving entrepreneurial ecosystem and the increasing relevance of innovation-driven careers.

The speakers discussed emerging startup trends, key entrepreneurial competencies, and the role of creativity and problem-solving in building successful ventures. They also highlighted government initiatives, incubation support, and practical examples to motivate students to consider entrepreneurship as a promising career path. The Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an online awareness session under the KAPILA (Kalam Program for Intellectual Property Literacy and Awareness) initiative on 28th November 2025

for students of the MBA and MCA programmes. The session titled “IPR Basics for Innovators and Entrepreneurs” aimed to enhance students’ foundational understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and highlight their crucial role in innovation, research, and entrepreneurial activities.

The session was conducted by Ms. Isha Sharma, Director, Trayambak & Founding Partner, who served as the external resource person. She delivered an insightful presentation on key components of IPR, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and the strategic importance of securing intellectual property.

Ms. Sharma elaborated on the IPR filing process, common misconceptions surrounding intellectual property, and the advantages of early IP protection, particularly for start-ups and emerging innovators. She also highlighted various government initiatives, including the KAPILA scheme, that support students and young entrepreneurs in safeguarding their creative and research-based outputs.

The session further introduced students to the relevance of IPR in academic research and guided them on identifying potentially patentable ideas. Practical strategies for leveraging IP assets to enhance business competitiveness were also discussed.

The event witnessed active participation from MBA and MCA students, with an engaging question–answer segment that allowed participants to clarify doubts related to patent search, documentation requirements, and procedures involved in registering intellectual property in India.

Operations Club Activity conducted on 28.11.2025

The Department of MBA, Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad organized an exciting two-round activity "Ops Arena: Compete, Compare and Conquer" under OpsEdge- The Operations club for MBA Batch 2025-27 on 28th November, 2025. The event was designed to bring real-world operations and supply chain concepts to life. 

Round 1 featured a Competitive Benchmarking Challenge, where teams analyzed and compared operations strategies of leading competitor companies, showcasing their analytical thinking and industry awareness. Round 2 brought a burst of energy with the Operations Mystery Quiz, where participants solved engaging riddles and clue-based questions to test their conceptual clarity and problem-solving skills. Diya Sharma, Krishna Pandey and Anjani Dixit bagged the first, second and third positions respectively.

The event proved to be highly engaging and enriched students’ practical understanding of operations and supply chain management.

Workshop on Financial Literacy and Commodity Market Awareness for MBA Students

The Department of Management, Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, successfully organized a highly insightful Workshop on “Financial Literacy and Commodity Market Awareness” on November 27, 2025 for MBA students (Batch 2025–27).

 

The session was held under the CSR Initiative of SEBI–MCX, in collaboration with PLAAB Foundation. The resource person was Mr. Chandresh Gupta, a SEBI–SMART Trainer, of PLAAB Foundation. He shared valuable knowledge on market mechanisms, commodity trading, risk management, and investor protection strategies.

The session was interactive, industry-focused, and aligned with NEP 2020’s experiential learning approach. The workshop received excellent feedback and students expressed a strong interest in participating in more industry-driven learning experiences. The Department of MBA successfully organized and concluded Visual Voices – The Poster Presentation Competition on November 13, 2025. The event served as a dynamic and highly anticipated platform, encouraging MBA students to translate complex management concepts into accessible, visual narratives. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and creative application, fostering a deeper understanding of subjects ranging from strategic management and human resource practices to finance and marketing innovations.

The competition was a true test of multidisciplinary skills, requiring students to demonstrate proficiency in design thinking, creativity, and, crucially, teamwork. Participants were challenged to create handmade posters, a format that pushed them beyond digital reliance to focus on core principles of design, composition, and concise communication. This requirement underscored the event's commitment to showcasing innovation and clarity through personal effort and execution. The resulting submissions were a vibrant display of ingenuity, covering contemporary themes like sustainable business models, digital transformation, ethical leadership, and market disruption. The quality of the presentations was exceptionally high, offering fresh perspectives and original interpretations across various management domains.

Judges assessed entries based on originality of the concept, visual appeal, clarity of the management message, and the overall quality of the presentation. The innovative spirit and energy displayed by all participants made the evaluation process challenging yet inspiring. The competition successfully fulfilled its goal of cultivating an engaging learning environment that goes beyond traditional classroom instruction.

featuring the Hon’ble Minister of Culture Kapil Mishra in conversation with Anand Narasimhan of News18, followed by Master Strokes in Highlight: 2025 led by Abhijit Iyer Mitra, Pradeep Bhandari, and Sandeep Unnithan. At 11:45 AM, the focus shifted to youth participation in politics through Hashtags to Ballot Box, with speakers Pankhuri Pathak, Charu Pragya, Saral Patel, and Abhinav Prakash, moderated by Ashok Shrivastava of DD News. Post noon, the conclave explored cultural literacy in Beyond Entertainment: Role of Reading, featuring Aditi Maheshwari and Shantanu Ray Chaudhuri, moderated by Iti Khurana, followed by a lunch break at 1:15 PM. EVENT REPORT ON VISIT TO INDIA INTERNATIONAL FAIR 2025

Selected students of MBA batch 2025 – 27 visited the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, as part of their experiential learning component organized by GLOCAL, International Business Club and Institution’s Innovation council (IIC- I.T.S) on 19 & 24 November 2025.

The visit aimed to expose students to real-time market practices, export-readiness strategies, and the functioning of diverse industries participating in one of India’s largest global trade exhibitions. The visit enabled students to engage directly with exhibitors, understand product innovations, assess market trends and role of technology, and collect primary data for their live project work. Upon arrival, students were divided into groups of 5 members each and oriented regarding hall layouts which helped them in reaching at the right place and optimize time utilization.

Students interviewed exhibitors to understand their business models, involvement of technology, challenges, and plans for market expansion. The covered diverse sectors such as handicrafts, textiles, processed foods, sustainable products, FMCG, MSMEs, and international pavilions. They were provided with guiding questions to assess digital presence, certifications, pricing strategies, packaging quality, product differentiation, and awareness of international documentation processes. They also explored contemporary challenges faced by MSMEs, including high raw-material cost, stiff competition from mass-produced imports, lack of consumer awareness about sustainable products, and difficulty in obtaining certifications like FSSAI, ISO, and organic labels. This interaction helped them gain practical understanding of theoretical concepts taught in class.

The visit contributed significantly to the students’ entrepreneurial thinking. Many exhibitors were start-ups or small enterprises, which offered insights into opportunity identification, grassroots innovation, and customer engagement strategies. The IITF visit was a highly enriching academic exercise that bridged the gap between classroom learning and the real business environment.

The trip offered students a refreshing break from academics while immersing them in the rich cultural heritage and traditional Rajasthani ambiance of Chokhi Dhani. Students experienced folk performances, camel and bullock cart rides, traditional games, and authentic Rajasthani cuisine, making the day both enjoyable and memorable. The outing helped students bond, rejuvenate, and build stronger peer connections, contributing to their overall holistic development. The excursion proved to be a perfect blend of fun, cultural learning, and relaxation for the entire group.
