10th September, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was the much awaited Musical Chair Race Competition in which the chairs were replaced by handkerchiefs seeing the convenience and the space available. The competition brought countless unique prizes for the slum children along with eatables and loud appreciation.

Volunteers of the day Rahul Dev Rout, Poulami Mondal, Swati Yadav, Rishu Kejriwal, Abhijita Sinha, Lavi Gupta, Rizwan Ali, George Rudolf Henry and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer ‘Tumhi ho mata pita tumhi ho, tumhi ho bandhu sakha tumhi ho’.

The first session of the day was ‘Learning a Lesson through a Story’ which was effectively conducted by the PGDM volunteer George Rudolf Henry who told the children ‘The Story of Mowgli’ and elaborated the morals with examples. At the end of the story, a short quiz brought on the spot prizes for the attentive children.

The mega event of the day was a Musical Hanky Race Competition in which more than 80 children participated. The competition was conducted in two splits – one for girls and one for boys. Finally, four runners from each segment were declared winners and were given fabulous prizes like tiffins, water bottles, penholders and sippers. All 80 participants were given a handkerchief as the participation prize.

The competition concluded with the distribution of Crax Curls and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.
