Volunteers of the day – Satyapal Yadav, Shiwani Bhatt, Ravi Nandan Kumar, Santosh Yadav, Rahul Bhattacharya, Akansha Saxena, Shweta, Vikas Babu and Satender Rana (Dev) started the day with the song ‘We shall overcome someday’ followed by the brief on the day’s activities and the competition.

The first session of the day was on ‘Monsoon and Its Emergence’ in which a brief presentation was made through PowerPoint, whiteboard and marker pen. The children were told how the monsoon gets formed and how it moves forward. They were also told about the facts like how and why the hot air moves upward, why the monsoon moves from sea to land etc. The presentation concluded with a short quiz on the same content and the best replies were appreciated with the fabulous prizes.

The Second session of the day was on Computer Skills. The children were taken to Computer Lab 1 and Lab 2 where the task for them was to create a new folder on the desktop, find out the pictures of Monsoon and save the pictures in the folder. Those who did it perfectly were felicitated with the attractive prizes.

The third and the last session of the day was a Drawing Competition in which the children had to draw and paint the pictures of Monsoon and the positive and negative aspects of it. The best performers were awarded with the big plastic stools, teddy bears, tumblers and handy-fan toys.

Fancy sharpeners, steel scales, colour sets, drawing sheets and the packets of cream biscuits were given to all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi guided and accompanied the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of Utthan Lab.
