The first session of the day was on addition of numbers which was effectively conducted by the volunteer Dev who through simple sums elaborated the meaning of the plus and minus signs to the children and guided them for quick calculations of digits and items in general.
The brief was followed by an exclusive session on ‘Monsoon’ conducted for the slum children to make them familiar how monsoon gets formed and moves forward. The session started with the simple questions asked by the volunteers like what is a monsoon, what are clouds, how are clouds formed, why do we have humidity before monsoon etc. The concept was elaborated with the pictures drawn on board and the examples cited. This session concluded with a quiz on the same content and the correct and prompt responses were appreciated with Lifebuoy Soap and loud clappings.
The activity ended with the distribution of Tiger cream biscuits, chocolates and tattoos among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of Parivartan Club.
