Department of I.T. organized Felicitation Ceremony of Meritorious Students of MCA (2016-18), Winners of 70th Independence & 75th Quit India Movement, Winners of Swachhata Pakhwara and Participants of Software Testing Workshop on 11th October, 2017. While addressing the students, Vice Chairman, ITS-The Education Group, Sh. Arpit Chadha expressed his happiness on the performance of students and also expressed his desire to see MCA students in University Merit List. Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey congratulated parents and also greeted the recipients of awards & certificates and said that key to success is right kind of learning with right attitude. He also said that figuring in a list of the toppers is difficult but it is more challenging to remain there and it requires consistent effort to maintain the level of performance. He also thanked parents of the students who were the part of the ceremony. Director Management, Dr. Ajay Kumar while addressing the students, congratulated them and said that they should work hard to get successful in Life. He also recited some motivational poems.

In her address, Chairperson-MCA, Prof. Puja Dhar said that this is one of the pride moments not only for the parents but also for the faculties that their students show the significant improvement in their results. She also wished them luck for the future. Ms. Muskan Abbasi has secured First Position, Ms. Gunjan Sharma has secured Second Position and Ms. Richi Gupta has secured Third Position. They have received Scholarship Cheques worth Rs. 15,000/- , Rs. 10,000/- and Rs. 5000/- respectively. On this occasion Top-10 students of MCA-III & MCA-IV Semester and Top-10 students who have shown the improvement in their MCA-IV Semester over III Semester were also felicitated. In this ceremony students of MCA/MBA/BBA and BCA who had participated in various activities in 70th Year of Independence & 75th Year of Quit India Movement which was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect during 9th -30thAugust 2017 were also felicitated with Certificates and trophies. Winners of Swacchta Pakhwada and Participants of Software Testing workshop were also felicitated with Certificates.
Vice Chairman – I.T.S the Education Group, Sh. Aprit Chadha, Director-IT, Dr. Sunil Kr. "INCEPTION" - 2017 MBA Fresher Party.

I.T.S Ghaziabad organized “INCEPTION- 2017” a Fresher Party for welcoming MBA (2017-19) Batch by senior batch of MBA (2016-18) on 10th October, 2017. Fresher's Party was started with the blessing of Maa Saraswati Vandana and lamp lighting by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director Management, Dr. D. K. Pandey, MBA Chairperson and management faculty members.

Senior batch and junior batch presented different stunning performances like songs, dance and last but not the least ramp walk during cultural programme. At the end of the cultural programme Mr. Shijo Mammen K and Ms. Divya Chauhan was crowned as Mr. Fresher and Ms Fresher from MBA 2017-19 Batch. Seniors also organized talent hunt competition for junior batch, in which Mr. Bhavpreet Singh & Mr. Vikash Kumar was awarded for best performer in singing, Mr. Vishal Krishna for best talent in Dance, Mr. Ashish Bhatt as Most Talented.

At the end students enjoyed and rock the floor at DJ Night and dinner.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

8th October, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was another journey from spirituality to science during which the children were told about the famous couplet ‘Kshiti, Jal, Paavak, Gagan, Sameera; Paanch Tatva Mil Bana Shareera’ explaining the five significant elements that constitute our body and the whole universe too.
Volunteers of the day Sneha Sharma, Aru Bansal, Bittu Raj Singh, Awantika Chaudhary, Nidhi Gupta, Rohit Kumar, George Rudolf Henry and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer ‘Tumhi ho mata pita tumhi ho, tumhi ho bandhu sakha tumhi ho’ and informed the children about the session scheduled for the day.

The talk of the day was on the ‘Five Significant Elements’ during which the volunteers described the five elements in Hindi along with their English substitutes and told the children about the significance of Earth, Water, Fire, Sky and Air in the universe and in our life too. They started with a couplet from the ‘Ram Charit Manas’ – Kshiti Jal Paavak Gagan Sameera, Paanch Tatva Mil Bana Shareera and explained each element in detail.
The Earth was explained in two ways – Earth, the planet and earth, the material. The children were told that there are 7 continents, 4 oceans, around 195 countries and countless species flourishing on our Mother Earth. Therefore, we should take care of Eco-balance, global warming and Swachhata all around in a way to pay back the debts to her.
Similarly Significance of water, crisis due to its shortage, consequences of wastage were explained followed by the discussion about Air, its pollution, our faults, and the remedies to make air better. Significance of Sky and Fire was also discussed with easy day to day examples which the children immediately grasped and responded when asked in the form of a quiz.
The activity concluded with the distribution of Sunfeast and Parle Cream Biscuits and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.

“Digital India Conclave-2017”

Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi is working for a “New India” by 2022, the 75th anniversary of Independence and focus on the welfare of poor and farmers. Year 2014 was the year of “Make in India and Swachh Bharat”, 2015 was about “Start Up and Stand Up India”, 2016 was “Digital India” and 2017 is now about “New India”.
To have a discourse on this agenda, The Department of IT conceptualized and planned I.T.S Digital India Conclave-2017 on the focal theme of “Opportunities and challenges for New India” on Oct 07,2017. 
The Conclave witnessed of different stakeholders of society to discuss, deliberate and understand the emerging role of every dimensions- Industry, media, technology, policy making, consumers and executives from various walks of life.  The conclave was threaded into three sessions

I.T. S Ghaziabad students attended session at ABP News Studio.

An open air interactive session was arranged by ABP at its office in Noida on 05th October, 2017. Guest of honour was none other then the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev, World Cup winning captain in 1983, a leading pace bowling spearhead. The session was made up of questions put up to Mr. Dev by the ABP comperes, interspersed with Q&A sessions with the assembled experts and the audience.

I.T.S Students from different courses (MBA, PGDM, IT, BBA & BCA), had a good time. They had an enjoyable session with the thought provoking and often witty answers from from Mr Kapil Dev. Some of the students put up questions to him, which he answered gracefully. At the end several students were lucky enough to have their photos snapped with Mr. Kapil Dev.

‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme

1st October, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a grand and memorable Library Club Activity during which the Library Club members made the slum children aware about the importance of books and organized interesting games for them. Prof. Shikha Arora not only encouraged the members of her club with her presence but also felicitated the slum buds with fabulous prizes arranged by the Library Club members.

Volunteers of the day Arzoo Chauhan, Akanksha Mishra, Guriya Kumari, Shiva Sharma, Mitesh Kumar, Novika Chadha, Rishu Kejriwal, George Rudolf Henry and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer ‘Tumhi ho mata pita tumhi ho, tumhi ho bandhu sakha tumhi ho’ and informed them about the activities of the day.

The first session of the day was on the ‘Importance of the Books’ in which the Library Club members told the children that the books are the windows to the world. The good books share our sorrows and happiness and make us aware of the updates of the universe. The children were also explained how a person writes his lifetime experiences in a book and when the same book is read by us we gain wisdom out of these experiences explained in the book. Thus reading 10 good books is like gaining the experiences of 10 lives in just one birth.

The second session of the day was a fun-filled ‘Straw and Gem Competition’ in which the Library Club members asked the children to suck through the straws and get the Gems candies stuck to straw pipes. Then the task was to run to the finishing line without letting the candies drop. The scene was hilarious and full of excitement and uproar. Everyone enjoyed including the staff members of the Fire Brigade Station and the passersby.

The members of Library Club had bought more than 80 unique items like lighted balls, dolls and Doraemon bubble blower through mutual contribution which were distributed among the children as the prizes. Prof. Shikha Arora was really kind who blessed the children and felicitated them with fabulous prizes.

The activity concluded with the distribution of Bingo Tedhe-medhe and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.

The conclave was organized byAll India Management Association (AIMA). FDP on ‘Best Practices in HR’ by Dr. Binod Kumar, Ex- Dean, IIM Calcutta

Management Department of I.T.S Ghaziabad organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘Best Practices in HR’ on September 26, 2017. Nineteen management faculty members were part of this session. Resource person for the FDP was Dr. Binod Kumar, a renowned academician and retired Professor of Behavioral Sciences and Area Coordinator at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Session started with an invigorating address by Dr. Binod Kumar. He shared his thoughts and experiences in a very simple and effective manner. He discussed several best practices based on his research work. He shared his thoughts about the development of faculty and said that there is a need to align their personal and professional excellence.

He also talked about the essential qualities like passion, commitment, right mindset and attitude that faculty members must develop and enhance in order to utilize their full potential and contribute the best to develop the budding managers and leaders.  Session was coordinated by Prof. Shikha Arora.

workshop on Software Testing

With an objective to provide real time exposure of software testing, department of IT, I.T.S Mohan Nagar, organized a workshop on 25th September 2017 for MCA Final Year students. Mr. Bhasker Madan & Mr. Karnveer Dash from Apex TG India Pvt Ltd, Noida were the resource person of the workshop.   At the beginning Mr. Bhasker Madan explained the significance of testing in the industry. What are the available jobs in the market? He shared the tips with the participants to crack the interview.

Mr. Karanveer Dash took the session on testing tool. How a tester writes & executes test cases. He demonstrated the Bug reporting tool Bug Tracket.net for the manual testing & QTP for automated testing. Students also implemented the things which were explain in the session.   35 students from MCA final year were participated in the workshop. The session was interactive & full of learning. Students enjoyed the session & appreciated.

24th September, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a mix of Science and Spiritualism in which the children came to know about the ‘Ram ki Shakti Puja’ – the story that tells why Navratri is celebrated, and they also learnt about the Nutrients – essential for physical growth and energy as it was the main theme of the day.

Volunteers of the day Deeksha Rajput, Amit Kashyap, Abhay Gupta, Apurva Tyagi, Atay Rasool, Vaishali Malik, Rishabh Gupta, Rohit Chaudhary, Saumya Pandey, Azad Yadav, Ranjiw Kumar, Shankar Kadariya, Bikram Parajuli and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer ‘Tumhi ho mata pita tumhi ho, tumhi ho bandhu sakha tumhi ho’.
 

The first session of the day was on Essential Nutrients in which the President of Parivartan Club Mr. Rakesh Dam explained the significance of Vitamins, Minerals and Proteins and discussed the diseases caused due to their deficiencies. The easily accessible sources of these nutrients were also shared with the children.

The second session of the day was - why we celebrate Navratri and the gist of ‘Ram ki Shakti Puja’, a long poem composed by Pandit Surya Kant Tripathi Nirala, was narrated for the children. They were told how Lord Rama worshipped Goddess Durga for nine days for defeating Ravana. The Goddess blessed Him and on the tenth day Ravana was killed which is celebrated as Vijaya Dashmi or Dussehra.

At the end of the talks, a quiz was conducted and the correct responses were appreciated with Parle-G biscuits. The class concluded with the distribution of Bingo Tedhe-medhe and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.

Guest lecture by Mr. Amit Sharma for MBA (2017-19) batch.

PG Management department at I.T.S Ghaziabad, organized a guest lecture for MBA (2017 – 19 batch) I Semester students on 21st September, 2017. The topic of the guest lecture was ‘Talent Acquisition’. The speaker for the session was Mr.Amit Sharma, Manager- HR, Relaxo Footwear Ltd.. Delhi.The speaker initiated the session by illustrating certain key areas of managerial planning, likefuture goals, different strategies to achieve desired goal, grabbing the right opportunity and so on. The leadership story of Shri Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi was also shared and it was discussed that “How and why people regard him as a leader”. Heinteracted with students and explained them the existing opportunities in the HR field. He also shared the hiring and selection process in business organizations.

He also discussed various formats of job description, job specification and KRA's, implemented and practiced by various organizations. He also briefed students about various focal points of an interview. Through this session, students were able to understand the expectations of HR at the time of interview. Students also got an opportunity to participate and engage themselves in the management games and activities. The students were actively involved and interactive throughout the session.

The guest lecture gave useful insights about hiring, recruitment and selection process. Thespeaker also addressed queries of students regarding talent acquisition, appraisal and other HR roles in current scenario of business environment.  The session was coordinated by Ms. Ritu Saxena and Ms. Bhavna Bhardwaj.

Workshop on NATS for MBA Students

A workshop on National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS for girls)) was organized by Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad on 19th September 2017 for girls’ students of MBA (16-18 Batch & 17-19 Batch). Speaker for the workshop was Dr. Namita Shrivastava from Ministry of Skill Development who is also working for DISHA a well known organized NGO.
She address with the statement “People will stand for you if you stand for yourself”. She briefed the objective of government behind this scheme: 
· To flourish the skills of the women.
· To make women compatible in every field.
· To make women employed and independent.
· To provide women equal opportunities in government sector.
She covered the background of the scheme by briefing National apprenticeship training scheme mainly focused on women, this scheme consists of 248 courses, under which the trainees will go through a session of 6 months training (minimum) to 1 year & The trainees will be paid during the training session.
 

She also demonstrated how students can handle any situation during professional life with two activities:
1. Students were asked to focus on their mind and were required to make two different shapes using both hands (a square from right hand and a circle from left hand).
2. In second activity, 10 volunteers were called upon and each of them was asked to follow the consecutive member in the same way. The time frame which they took was 1min which was reduced to 45 seconds in next round.
At the end she asked students to enroll themselves for the scheme through government portal. The session was very interactive and fruitful which would be very beneficial in the future and will also help students to enhance and flourish their skills.

17th September, 2017 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was a Dengue and Chikungunya Awareness Camp organized meticulously by the volunteers of ITS who had come with the cutouts of the mosquitos and the in-depth details of the disease, its symptoms, cure and preventions.
Volunteers of the day Priyanshi Gupta, Arpan Banerjee, Rupam Rani, Rohit Kumar, Shalu Gupta, Richa Sharma, Arpit Sharma, Anurag Kushwaha, Sandeep Kumar Das, George Rudolf Henry and Rakesh Dam started the class with the prayer ‘Tumhi ho mata pita tumhi ho, tumhi ho bandhu sakha tumhi ho’.

The Dengue and Chikungunya Awareness Camp started with the mention of the deadly diseases, their symptoms and the common procedure of cure. The children were shown the cut-outs of the mosquitoes and were told how fatal they are.
The children were also informed about the difference between both the diseases, precautions and actions required in case of the symptoms of the disease. They were advised not to allow water to get accumulated anywhere, to use mosquito repellants, to clean coolers regularly etc. They were also informed in brief about the platelets and their significance.

At the end of the briefings, a quiz was conducted to estimate the success of the camp and the correct responses were appreciated with prizes like chocolates and cookies. The camp concluded with the distribution of Crax Curls and éclairs among all the children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club.
