Blanket Distribution by ‘Parivartan’ Club

28th December, 2016 was that pious date when the devoted volunteers of Parivartan Club, a CSR initiative of ITS – The Education Group, spent their whole night on roads of Ghaziabad and Delhi and distributed the blankets and jackets to the needy and the poor people who were struggling to keep themselves alive in the freezing winds. Priyanshu Jain, Akram Reza, Jaydeep and Sourav Karmakar (all PGDM student volunteers) were the real heroes of this night who warmed up around 50 lives with the blankets and the woolen clothes.

Volunteers started around 11:00 pm with the faculty coordinator Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi and covered almost all directions and corners of the city from Dilshad Garden to Anand Vihar, Vaishali, Meerut Road, Karehda village, Raj Nagar, Sahibabad, Mohan Nagar, Vasundhara, Lohia Nagar, Shastri Nagar, New Bus Stand Ghaziabad, Old Bus Stand Ghaziabad, Lal Kuan, Govindpuram and various other places of the city. The distribution took around 6 hours, starting at 11:15 and concluding at 5:05 a.m.
Out of countless stories of amazement, tears and blessings, three stories are worth special mention. Near Passport Office, Kaushambi, a boy around 12 was coiled up in a temple like Ambedkar Park with very few clothes on his body. When the volunteers approached him for help he felt as if angels have landed. He was overjoyed to receive the blanket and the jacket which he wore without wasting a second. Similarly, near Chowdhary Mod, three middle aged people were struggling to survive in the chilling winds. One of them was bare chest with a torn shirt. All of them were extremely happy and thankful after receiving the blankets and jackets.
Near EDM Mall, the volunteers spotted a drunkard lying under the footpath with no linen or shawl on him. The humanity appealed the volunteers and they immediately covered him in the blanket so that he does not meet his cold end.
