13th November, 2016 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was an advance celebration of the Children’s Day which concluded with big fun, dance and great learning as usual. Volunteers of the day – Novika Chadha, Ashish Kumar, Arpan Tanwar, Sneha, Swati, Shubham Mendiratta, Ravince Singh, Vaibhav Areran, Shalvika Singh, Arif Hussain and Satender Rana (Dev) started the activity started with the prayer – ‘Itni shakti humein dena data, mann ka vishwas kamjor ho na’.

The celebration started with the decoration of the spot with balloons etc. The class commenced with a brief on the importance of the day. The children were also told about Chacha Nehru who was very fond of children and whose birthday is celebrated as the Children’s Day. To test and check the absorption of the facts shared, a quiz was also conducted and correct responses were given loud ovation. The celebration concluded with the dance by the slum children on the latest Bollywood numbers like ‘Mai naachu aaj Chhum Chhum chhum’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo’.
Technical session of the day was on ‘Self-Introduction’ and the children were told to introduce themselves effectively with complete crucial information. They also practiced previous exercises of counting from 1 to 100 and English alphabet.
The class and the celebration ended with the distribution of balloons, Taka-tak, cookies and chocolates among all children Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of Parivartan Club.
