18th December, 2016 activity of ‘Parivartan’- the Slum Education Programme, a CSR initiative of ITS, Ghaziabad was made special by the surprise appearance of alumni volunteers Sher Singh Chouhan (MBA passed out) and Kanika Goel (MCA passed out). The alumni spent their evening with the slum children and shared their knowledge and memories with them.
Volunteers of the day – Shivangi Singh, Anjul Varshney, Rashi Srivastava, Rishu Kejriwal, Bikram Parajuli, Dipankar Pramanik, Ujjwal Choudhary, Kanika Goel, Sher Singh Chouhan, Arif Hussain, Vikas Babu and Satender Rana (Dev) started the activity with the prayer – ‘Itni shakti humein dena data, mann ka vishwas kamjor ho na’.

The class for the day started with the theme ‘Travel & Transport’ during which the students were informed of the various modes of transport, their utility and limitations. The children were also briefed about boarding a bus or a train. Nuances of travelling were elaborated with relevant and easy to understand examples. The children were told even about asking for a lift in the personal vehicles in case of emergencies but they were also warned of the risks involved in taking lift in private vehicles.
The revision of counting from 1 to 100 in Hindi and English and the tables from 2 to 5 was also done as routine.
The class ended with the distribution of Perk Chocolates, éclairs and biscuits among all children. Dr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi accompanied and guided the volunteers as the faculty coordinator of the club.
