    Dr. D K Pandey, Dr. Charu Choudhry and Prof.Shikha Arora from Management Department attended a Conference organised by The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on human resources titled “HR Best Practices” in New Delhi on 7th and 8th November 2016.

    The theme of the conference centred on the changing dynamics of the recruitment industry and how the human resource professionals can implement the best practices in order to nail the very best of talent pool.

    The two-day event witnessed presence of HR professionals, corporate leaders, recruiters, academicians, thought leaders and speakers specifically from the HR industry.

    Inaugural session was presided over by Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs) and managing directors. Speakers included MadhaviLall, Head HR, Deutsche Bank, PrithviShergill, CHRO, HCL Technologies, and Mr. SaugataMitra, Group Head, HR, Mother Dairy Pvt Ltd.

    The introduction was followed by the first panel discussion of the day titled, “A Journey from Classroom to Boardroom”. Speakers and moderators of the session included Ms MadhaviLall of Deutsche Bank, Ms Neeti Sharma, Co-Founder Team Lease, Prof. Amit Mookerjee, Dean and Head, IIM Lucknow, Noida Campus, Dr. Jitendra Das, Director, Fore School of Management and Mr Rajeev Kumar, Global Head, Campus Hiring, Wipro Limited.

    “Transforming HR for Strategic Talent Management” was the focus area of the second session. The session was presided over by leaders like Dr. Sandhya Chintala, VP NASSCOM and S Radha Chauhan, President and CEO, Department of Electronics and Information Technology.

    Third session of the day, focused on the concept of “Onboarding andEngaging Talent in the Digital Age”. Speakers and moderators of the session comprised Mr PrithviShergill of HCL, Ms Pooja Malik, VP, HR, AnandAutomotives Ltd, Ms Kiran Singh, GM, Corporate HR, Mother Dairy, Mr. UnmeshPawar, Global HR MD, Accenture and Mr.Wallace Shah, Director and Country Head, Lausanne Hospitality Consulting.

    On the second day, the following sessions took place - Panel Discussion on:‘How Technology is changing the Landscape of Talent Acquisition’.     On Saturday, 5th March 2016, Department of IT, I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad organized 11th National IT Conference on Next Generation Technologies for e-Business, e-Education and e-Society in association with Computer Society of India (CSI), Division-I and sponsored by Netedge Technology Pvt. Ltd. and International Journal of Computer Applications (IJCA), New York, USA.
    Conference was formally inaugurated in the gracious presence of Sh. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S – The Education Group; Chief Guest, Sh. Rakesh Malik, MD, Combine Ways & Former Vice President, Siemens; Key Note Speakers Sh. Harshdeep Marwah, Country Manager, Verizon Enterprises Solutions & Sh. Aniruddha Sen, Enterprise Strategic Advisor, Microsoft India; Sh. Surendra Sood, Chief Administrator, I.T.S – The Education Group; Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey, Director IT, I.T.S Ghaziabad; Invited Guests, Delegates, and Faculty Members. The proceedings of Conference, containing accepted research papers, was also released during inaugural session. The newly set-up video conferencing facility was also inaugurated at I.T.S Ghaziabad on the same day, wherein all the dignitaries and faculty members were present. Prof. Rakesh Roshan, Co-Convener, NGTBES-2016 presented a brief about the Conference and Prof. Saurabh Saxena, Co-Convener, NGTBES-2016 was the MOC for inaural session.
    Dr. Sunil Kr. Pandey, Director-IT & Convener NGTBES-2016, welcomed the eminent speakers and guests. He presented an outline of latest happenings in the arena of technological developments and how these developments are impacting business, education and society. He reinforced that technology should reach to all without prejudice. It should be used for the benefit of all strata of society.
    In his address, Sh. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S – The Education Group, said that things are changing at a very rapid pace. The educational institutions should adapt themselves as per the industry requirements. He emphasized on a close industry-academia collaboration to churn out industry-ready professionals.
    Chief Guest of the event, Sh. Rakesh Malik, MD, Combine Ways & Former Vice President, Siemens, said that Telecommunications industry is playing the role of backbone in providing infrastructure to IT services. He motivated the students to learn new skills and to convert the demographic dividend of India into monetary dividend. He emphasized on the need of skilling Indian youths.
    Keynote Speaker, Sh. Aniruddha Sen, Enterprise Strategic Advisor, Microsoft India said that the technological advancements have started to reach the masses. The next era is not of connecting the people rather it will be of connecting the devices. He gave various examples how IT applications are being used in social, business and educational context.
    Another Key Note Speaker of the session, Sh. Harshdeep Marwah, Country Manager, Verizon Enterprises Solutions, addressed the audience and shared his various experiences. He narrated his entrepreneurial journey. Sh. Marwah motivated the students to believe in their own capabilities and decisions. He said that we should consider business and technology as two separate entities. These are two complementary things and not the supplementary. The entrepreneurs should focus on creating robust business models and then should think that how technology can make this model more efficient.
    The conference was an effort to bring researchers, industry professionals, academicians and practitioners on a common platform to deliberate on latest trends, tools and technologies in the broad-based areas of Business, Education and Society and how Information Technology can play its role in making the things happen.
    Conference received papers from authors affiliating to premier institutes like IIT, reputed companies and other universities covering various states of country such as Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi etc. These papers were rigorously reviewed for acceptance on various quality parameters and finally 25 papers were shortlisted for presentation in Conference.
    Inaugural Session was followed by a Technical Session on "Leveraging IT impact of Next Generation Technologies on Businesses, Education & Society".

    Sh. Ashok Jade, CIO, Shalimar Paints, in his address said that it requires hard work and perseverance for succeeding in any field. He interacted with the audience, especially the students, and said that students should imbibe creativity and innovation amongst themselves. He further emphasized on the need of inclusive and sustainable global development.
    Sh. Ashish Bhatia, Program Manager, Microsoft Boston, gave a very knowledgeable talk. He presented a very insightful series of applications developed at Microsoft who are supporting businesses and society at large. There are various newer technological verticals such as Big Data Analytics, Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision that are impacting human life. He presented a notion of seamlessly connected world and technology behind this connection.

    Dr. D. K. Tayal, Associate Professor, IGDTUW Delhi spoke on the theme of Artificial Intelligence. He said that nowadays, all the gadgets and devices have some sort of intelligence. We should inspire our students to innovate and do out of box things. He gave an in-depth coverage of Fuzzy Logic and its applications in AI research.

    Dr. T. V. Vijay Kumar, Assistant Professor, JNU started his address by differentiating the concept of Database and Data warehouse. Dr. Kumar said that Data warehouse supports redundancy as well as uniqueness with the help of time stamp. He then touched upon various applications and research directions in the field of Data Warehousing.

    The technical session was concluded by Prof. Chandra Mani Sharma, Organizing Secretary, NGTBES-2016. Prof. Sharma summarized the key points discussed during the session.

    Paper presenters presented their research papers in two post-lunch paper presentation sessions. The session chairs for parallel paper presentation sessions were Dr. Rabins Porwal, Associate Professor, ITS Ghaziabad & Dr. Umang Singh, Assistant Professor, I.T.S Ghaziabad.
    During valedictory session of the Conference, Best Paper Awards & Certificate distribution ceremony was held.
    The recipients of ‘Best Paper Awards’ were as follows:

    • First Prize: Ms. Bhavana, Banasthali University, Jaipur (Rs. 5,000/- Cash, Certificate and Shield)
    • Second Prize : Ms. Arnika, SRM University, Ghaziabad (Rs. 3,000/- Cash, Certificate and Shield)

    Overall, the conference was a great learning experience for all and was well received & appreciated by delegates coming from different parts of country.

    Institute of Technology and Science, Ghaziabad organized one day National Seminar on ‘Volatility Spillover of Each Sector Across Financial Markets’ on 6th February, 2016. The Institute organizes such seminars in different domains of specializations to update the knowledge and skills of the students with the latest industry inputs and trends.
    The event started with the Inaugural Session opening by Dr. Anusha Agarwal, Convener of the Seminar, welcoming the honorable Vice Chairman, I.T.S. The Education Group, Mr. Arpit Chadha, Director Management, Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Chief Guest Mr. Shailendra Bebortha, Chief Operating Officer, Sunborne Energy Technologies and Keynote Speaker Mr. V.K. Raina, President AVR Consultancy, Ex Chairman, Bank of Aldofar, Dubai and giving an overview of the Seminar. Director Management Dr. Sapna Rakesh addressed the students that such events give an opportunity to interact with the industry experts. Vice Chairman, I.T.S. The Education Group, Mr. Arpit Chadha also addressed the students and wished them a day full of learning with new insights. Thereafter the Chief Guest for the Seminar Mr. Shailendra Bebortha, not only shared the recent developments in finance but also advised the future managers to remain updated and poised as there will be increased demand of financial experts in future. The Keynote speaker was Mr. V.K. Raina also shared his vast experience and gave valuable insights into the various factors leading to the crises in the financial markets. His speech invited various interesting questions from the students which were duly addressed.

    Then there was a Technical Session on ‘Personal Finance in Turbulent Times’ where the experts were Mr. Prashant Sharma, Senior VP, ICICI Securities, Mr. Abhishek Pradhan, Director, Financial Consulting Firm, Ex. VP IndusInd Bank and Ms. Kavita Rai, Senior Manager, Delhi Stock Exchange. Mr. Prashant Sharma discussed the various factors leading to crises including economic factors and political factors, reasons for Chinese market crash and how such factors impact the wealth and financial assets of any person. He suggested that one should not simply buy stock but invest in promising and growth oriented companies. Mr. Abhishek Pradhan deliberated how the crises have always been there and one should not be pessimistic but rather always focus on managing the crises to overcome it successfully. He also stressed how as managers one is always required to view problems not as problems but as opportunities for doing new things. Finally the last speaker of the session Ms. Kavita Rai shared her vast experience of twenty five years in the stock exchange and advised students that they should not jump into the market without any information only for speculating or trading purposes but rather acquire the right information and correct details and then think of investing in the market for better returns.

    Later there was a Panel Discussion on topic ‘Impact of Global Financial Crisis on Indian Financial Sector’ where the experts were Mr. Vikas Arora, VP, Yes Bank; Mr. Gursharan Rai Bansal, Senior VP, UTI Asset Management Company; Mr. Manoj Kumar Sabat, AVP, IL&FS Energy; Mr. Vikas Gupta, Director, Compark Ltd. and Ms. Anju Sethi, AGM, Punjab National Bank. The moderator of the panel was Dr. Deepak Tandon, Professor, IMI, Delhi. The eminent speakers from industry discussed the various causes of the current financial crisis such as the Chinese market crash, crude oil crisis, political unrest and gave valuable insights how one thing is related to the other. The speakers also deliberated on the challenges and opportunities in the current scenario for the start up companies. Ms. Anju Sethi highlighted how the spillover effect is natural as adversity in one country affects other nations as well and how bankers have to be a little more cautious and follow the credit ratings strictly. Mr. Manoj Kumar Sabat discussed that financial crisis has majorly affected the private sector and public sector is not much affected as there is not much problem of debt. Mr. Gursaran Rai Bansal very interestingly brought the concept of ‘VUCA’ (V= volatility, U= uncertainty, C= complexity, A= ambiguity) situation which is presently the scenario. Mr. Vikas Gupta explained how financial crisis affects an entrepreneur or startup further stressing that financial crisis comes after every 3 years and so one should be prepared for it. Also stating that such crisis is the ideal time to initiate a startup become one is more creative and innovative at that time and talent availability is also more. Mr. Vikas Arora, explained Chinese market crash stating that the country’s exports are reducing and so China went ahead with devaluating its currency to induce an increase in exports.
    Toward the conclusion of the event vote of thanks was given by Prof. Nitin Saxena thanking all the speakers, faculty and the students for successfully organizing the seminar which greatly benefitted the participants and the students.

    Department of management studies of Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad organized a National Marketing Leadership Conclave on “Reorienting Marketing: Roadmap for Sustainable Growth” on 26th , 27th & 28th November, 2015. With an objective of widening learning opportunities to the learners by creating a sustained marketing euphoria the conclave was planned for three days. The three days of event were full of competitive events for students like marketing Plan competition, Poster making competition, marketing quiz competition, Digital campaign, retail outlet strategy presentation, and retail shows, exhibitions of recent product launches, industry expert talks, and forum interactions.

    The marketing conclave was started with the welcome address by Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Driectgor Management and was jointly inaugurated by Mr. Pradeep Kashyap, MD, MART Rural and as a Chief Guest and Mr David Whittenberg, CEO, Innovation Workgroup as a Key note Speaker. Mr Kashyap highlighted the relevance of new set of 4 Ps in modern times. He said that the traditional 4Ps fail to place customers in focus and cover more of the sellers perspective. He proposed the new 4 Ps as – Purpose, Passion, Public and Partnership. Mr David emphasized on need for speed of strategic planning and implementation for Indian companies.

    First day of the conclave was full of prize winning competitive events for the students. 62 teams participated in the first round of Marketing Quiz followed by 18 teams in marketing plan competition and 25 teams in poster making competition, 16 teams in Digital Campaign and 15 teams in retail outlet strategy presentation.

    Second day of the event witnessed more than 15 companies including Dabur, Parle, Himalaya, Oxford Publication, Live Pure, Royal Enfield, Bisleri, Royal India Vacation, Punjab National Bank and many more representing their new product launches in a retail exhibition.

    Third day, the conclave was started with presence and motivational speech of Shri Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman of I.T.S The Education Group and the address of industry experts including Mr Amit Doshi, COO , DNA (Dainik Bhaskar Group), Ahmedabad and Mr Nitish Kumar Rai, Chief Marketing Officer, Burger King. Mr Amit Doshi emphasized on the importance of customers and colleagues in business by sharing few very interesting business stories. Mr Nitish Kumar Rai discussed the importance of a well crafted advertising campaign and highlighted how it can be leveraged by the use of digital technology. He shared promotional campaign of Coca Cola, KFC, HUL and many more to illustrate modern digital marketing practices.

    The first forum interaction was on the theme “Digitalization vs Traditional Marketing Practices”. Mr. Kishore Chakraborty, Sr. VP McCann Ericsson was the moderator for the session. Mr. Vinayak Lal, GM, DS Group, Mr. Amit Sahani, Regional Sales Head – Bagrrys, Mr. Kalyan Kumar, Director - Infuse Media & Mr. Aditya Kayastha, Group. Brand Head – Dabur were the other panel members. The debate started with digital vs traditional marketing practices came to an end with the understanding that both the practices complement each other and a smart marketer leverage the marriage of digital and traditional practices to build on.

    The second forum interaction was on the theme “Rural vs Urban marketing landscape: A Question of Sustainability”. Prof C K Sabharwal was the moderator for the session. Mr. Mohan Krishnan, Sr. V P, IMRB, Mr. Vivek Malhotra, Sr. VP, Idea Cellular, Dr Ravindra Singh, GM, Chambal Fertilizers, and Mr. Anirban Chaudhuri, Director,Fobulka were the panelist. The entire discussion was woven around how mapping the rural consumer is going to be the key concern area for the organizations of today. How MNCs are trying to leverage the rural potential for their growth and survival.

    At the end during valedictory session participants who secured first, second and third positions in various competitive events were awarded with Winner, First runner up and second runner up trophies and certificates. The convener of the conclave Dr V N Bajpai proposed vote of thanks.

    Prof. Durba Roy and Prof. Lalit Kumar Sharma coordinated the entire event very well.

    The Seminar proceedings began at 11.00am with Prof Shikha introducing and inviting the ITS group Vice Chairman Shri Arpit Chadha, Chief Guest Mr.G.P.Rao, Management Advisor & Motivational Speaker, Founder, GPHR Consulting, Key Note Speaker Dr.Kavita Singh, Professor-OB, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University(DU), Dr.Sapna Rakesh (Director-Management, Dr.Anita Mathew, Professor – OB/HR &Convenor- HR Seminar for the lighting of lamp and floral welcome to the Resource Speakers of the session.

    The inaugural session opened with Dr.Sapna Rakesh’s address on the 11th edition of National Seminar of HR at ITS, Ghaziabad. She talked about organizations being about people and technology and the how organizations are innovating to be connected with the youth of today followed by Dr.Anita Mathew’s highlight on the theme of the seminar. She talked about the changing mindset of millennials with entrepreneurial orientation, setting an era of innovations that has disrupted the established market leaders. Essentially the theme of the Seminar was to address and prepare the young minds for a changed organizational scenario.

    The dias was handed over to Dr.Kavita Singh for her keynote address and she talked about the shift from command and control to consultation and participation era in organizations. She also build around the concept of Disruptive Innovation with examples of organization in the lead. LEAPS model and psychology of disruptive innovation through S shaped curve wasefficiently explained by her while mentioning about associated mindest, behaviour, uncertainity, inevitable future and the human capital competencies required for disruptive innovation.

    Mr.G.P.Rao in his address mentioned various ways to unleash human capital. Some of them were finding the potential in self, vision, doing a SWOT, having a strategic mindset with inclusive orientation and business acumen. Also emphasized on developing faith and practicing ethical values. He also talked about what organizations could do to develop human capital of the organization like providing an enabling climate, being flexible, encouraging risk and experimentation among employees and designing supportive policies.

    The Second session at 1400hrs was a Panel Discussion on “Career vs Compensation-Perspectives of Millenials and the student anchors were Ms.RenuAdhikari (PGDM14-16)and Mr.AnimeshSaraswat (PGDM-15-17). The Panelists were Mr.RajnishJhulka, Founder-Thought @ Work, Mr.Indranil Gupta, CEO & Director- Meritt Consultants, Mr.ManmohanBhutani, Head-HR & VP-Business Operations, American Cyber Systems (ACS) Inc. and Mr.Kaushik Chakraborty, Director-HR, Business Partner, Head-L&D, Jones Lang LaSalle. The session witnessed a research presentation on a global research study on millennials and what they expect from their respective organizations. The key points that came out of the discussion were issues like the integration of generation gap that existed among Baby boomers, GenX and GenY, millennials affable nature towards technology, transparency and openness, leadership, work life balance, shift from compensation to total rewards and life-long learning. Three important competencies on behavioural, technical and business related skills were identified as important factor for millennials. The need to face VUCA was also discussed and the session was facilitated by Mr. RajnishJhulka.

    The third session at 1630 hrs was a Panel Discussion on “ Changing Paradigm of Recruitment” and the session anchors were Ms. Nishtha Tiwari (PGDM 14-16) and Mr.Khushpreet Singh (PGDM 15-17). The panel members were Ms. Wilma Dadel Gupta, Director & Principal Consultant, Qwest HR ServicesMr.Yuvraj Bhatnagar, Global Leader (AVP) – Talent Acquisition, Evalueserve, Mr.ArunavBannerjee, President and Chief Researcher,Mr.Prateek Dubey, Head-HR, Coca Cola and Mr.Murleedhar Sharma, Director-HR, RJ Corp. The session highlights included discussion on the shift from traditional to web based hiring. The format of interviews and some of the commonly used platforms for search by recruiters and thereby the students’ imperative to be present and allied to latest technology to make the best use of medium was discussed at length. An activity of mock interview session with frequently asked questions through an activity titled “HOT SEAT” was effected to sensitize the students on the veracity with which they should prepare and present themselves in front of recruiters. The session was moderated by Mr.ArunavBannerjee.

    10th National Conference on “Emerging Paradigms of Information & Communication Technologies & its Impact on Society (EPICTIS-2014)”, sponsored by Nvidia - The Leaders in Graphics Card Manufacturing used in Desktops/ Laptops as Platinum Sponsor, was organized the Department of IT at ITS, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad in association with Computer Society of India (CSI) – Ghaziabad Chapter, CSI Division-I & III, CSI-Region-I and technically co-sponsored by International Journal of Computer Applications (IJCA), NY (USA), International Journal of Scientific and Engineering Research (IJSER) , Houston Texas (USA), International Journal of Computer Science Issues (IJCSI), Mauritius on 07th - 08th Nov, 2014 at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad. During the Inauguration of the conference, arrangement of Smart Screen Display for Presentation was facilitated by Omni Solutions.
     
    The conference witnessed a GRAND Success and attracted large number of participation. Approximately 300 delegates including students (BCA & MCA Course), presenters, contributors (paid delegates) and invited guests visited ITS Mohan Nagar Campus for this conference.
     
    On first Day (07th Nov, 2014) of the conference a Full Day Workshop on Database Retrieval Mechanism was organized for the students of MCA Course. Sh. Manjeet Singh from Simplex Software Solutions, Gurgaon was invited as Resource Person for the workshop. Within the workshop, Mr. Singh discussed several ways of writing database queries and conducted only the practical session for the students in pre-lunch & post-lunch sessions.
     
    On second Day (08th Nov, 2014) of the conference, it was planned to organize in 04 (four) sessions including Inaugural Session, Experiential Session, Technical paper presentation sessions (at 02 places) and Valedictory Session including Award Ceremony & Distribution of Certificates. The conference was inaugurated on this day, i.e., Saturday, 08th Nov 2014 by Honorable Vice-Chairman, ITS-The Education Group, Sh. Arpit Chadha Ji; Chief Guest, Sh. Aditya Sharma Ji, Global Head – DG & CI, Birlasoft (India); Key-Note Speaker, Sh. Sivasankaran Laxminarayanan Ji, Head – Strategic Initiative, Nvidia; Guest of Honor, Sh. Manohaur Kumar Ji, DGM – Sify Corporation and Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey (HOD-IT). During the Inaugural ceremony, the proceedings of the conference (both Hard Copy & Soft Copy) of so called conference (EPICTIS-2014) was released by invited eminent guests along with Organizers/ Editorial committee members of the conference: Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey, Dr. Rabins Porwal, Dr. Umang Singh, Prof. Rakesh Roshan & Prof. Smita Kansal, in the presence of a huge gathering in the Auditorium of the Institute. On this occasion, representatives of Computer Society of India, NVIDIA, Omni Solutions etc were also present. The gathering was addressed by these eminent speakers during the inaugural session.
     
    After the Inaugural Session, Experiential Session on Techno – Societal Impact of ICT was organized in the Auditorium of the Institute in which Dr. Maya Ingle, Professor & Director (Research), DAVV, Indore; Dr. M. P. Singh, Professor, Dr. B. R Ambedkar University, Agra; and Ms. Swati Mehra, Business Analyst, NIIT Ltd. shared their experiences/ thoughts/ views in a very interactive manner with the audience on the theme of the session.
     
    In the post-lunch session, Technical paper presentations, in parallel, at 02 places, were conducted separately, and Research Papers on the theme of the conference were presented physically by the presenters who have come from far off places for the only purpose and these papers were evaluated by session chairs and judges of respective sessions; based on which Cash Prizes and Trophies were awarded to Three Best Research Papers in the Valedictory Session & Award Ceremony. These sessions were chaired by Dr. Anurag Jain, Professor at GGSIP University, New Delhi and Prof. Anil Yadav - Head, Department of Computer Applications, CSJM University, Kanpur and Prizes were awarded in the Valedictory Session by Dr. Brijesh Kumar - Professor & Dean at Lingaya's University, Faridabad.
     
    Ms. Geetanjali Singh from Banasthali University, Jaipur Campus was awarded First Prize (Cash prize of Rs. 5000/- along with Trophy), Ms. Nivedita Singh from ITS - UG Campus, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad was awarded Second Prize (Cash prize of Rs. 3000/- along with Trophy) and Mr. Amit Aggarwal from Sakshay Web Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Noida was awarded Third Prize (Cash prize of Rs. 2000/- along with Trophy) in the valedictory session based on the evaluation of judges in Technical Paper Presentation Session.

    09th National Conference on “Smarter Approaches in Computing Technologies & Applications (SACTA-2014)” was organized by the Department of IT at ITS, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad in association with CSI-Ghaziabad Chapter, CSI-Region I, CSI-Division I and International Journal of Computer Applications (IJCA), USA on 19th April, 2014 (Saturday). The conference witnessed a GRAND Success and attracted large number of participation in terms of research paper presentations from well recognized institutions like IIIT-A, IIT-R, Thapar Univ., GBU, GGSIPU, GB Pant E.C., AMU, JUIT, Galgotia, SRM, Lingaya’s, MITS, ITM, SRMSCET, KIET, ABES etc. from various far off places of country like Allahabad, Roorkee, Pauri, Gwalior, Udaipur, Jalandhar, Patiala, Solan, Gr. Noida, Aligarh, Bareily, Meerut, Delhi, Dehradoon, Modinagar, Faridabad & Ghaziabad etc.. I feel immense pleasure in sharing with you all approximately 80 external participants/ delegates/ presenters/ contributors(paid delegates) including invited guests visited ITS Mohan Nagar Campus for this conference.

    The conference was planned in 04 (four) sessions including Inaugural Session, 02 Technical paper presentation sessions and followed by Award Ceremony, Valedictory Session & Distribution of Certificates. The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Prof. M. K. Surappa (Director, IIT-Ropar), Prof. Shekhar Ghose (Director General – ITS, Ghaziabad), Dr. Harish Kumar (Director-IT), Dr. B. S. Hoti (Director-Management) and Prof. Sujata Khandai (Principal-UG Campus). During the Inaugural ceremony, the proceeding (Compendium consisting of 71 critically reviewed good quality papers) of so called conference (SACTA-2014) was released by invited eminent guests along with Organizers/ Editorial committee members of the conference: Dr. Rabins Porwal, Prof. Puja Dhar, Prof. Saurabh Saxena & Prof. Chandra Mani Sharma, in the presence of a huge gathering (including faculty members of Dept. of IT (PG & UG) and students of MCA & BCA) in the Auditorium of the Institute.Dr. S C. Bhatia, (Fellow-CSI) was also present in the Inaugural session of the Conference.

    Thereafter, Technical paper presentations, in parallel, at 02 places, before the lunch and after the lunch were conducted, separately, and total 40 research papers on the theme of the conference were presented physically by the presenters who have come from far off places for the only purpose and these papers were evaluated by session chairs and judges of respective sessions; based on which Cash Prizes and Trophies were awarded to Three Best Research Papers in the Valedictory Session & Award Ceremony. Sh. Vijay Rastogi, Ex-Chairman CSI-Ghaziabad Chapter & Director, Sisoft and Dr. Arun Sharma, Vice-Chairman, CSI-Ghaziabad Chapter Judged the presentations. Sh. Saurabh Agrawal, Chairman, CSI-Ghaziabad Chapter was present as Guest in the Award Ceremony & Valedictory session.

    Ms. Kumud Arora from IPEC along with Mr. Varun Arora was awarded First Prize (Cash prize of Rs. 5000/- along with Trophy), Rajat Sharma along with Akshay Jain from ABES EC, Ghaziabad was awarded Second Prize (Cash prize of Rs. 3000/- along with Trophy) and Poonam Sharma from MITS, Gwalior was awarded Third Prize(Cash prize of Rs. 2000/- along with Trophy) in the valedictory session based on the evaluation of judges in Technical Paper Presentation Session.

    Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad organized a two-day National Seminar at its Mohan Nagar campus. The Seminar took of in the morning of 7th February, 2014 and ended in the evening of 8th February, 2014. The Seminar was organized in the area of Finance. The theme of the Seminar was ‘Managing Finance during crisis. The first day of the Seminar was devoted to the research paper presentation by the researchers from industry and academia. Two dozen research papers were selected for publication out of total six dozen research papers received. All the selected research papers were published in a book which was released in the inaugural session of the second day of the Seminar. The first day of the Seminar was inaugurated by renowned professor of Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, New Delhi. In his inaugural address, he presented the nitty-gritty of financial crisis in an interesting manner.
    The focal point of this Seminar was 60 delegates from 35 different countries who whole-heartedly participated and enjoyed discourse on various aspects of Indian financial system.
    The second day of the Seminar was devoted to the discussions by the industry captains in different technical sessions. This day observed extensive discourse on understanding nuances of and required skills needed for making Indian financial system robust. Mr Rajesh Gulati, President, Hero Motors was the Chief Guest, Mr Ravi Prasad, Director, NHAI, Govt. of India was the key-note speaker and Mr. Rishi Raj Singh, Director, NIESBUD was the Guest of Honor.
    In his welcome address, Director General of I.T.S, Prof Shekhar Ghose express happiness over the presence of delegates particularly 60 representatives of 35 different countries. Expressing his views on Indian Financial System, he said during 2008 meltdown, India was least affected; reason being its robustness via wide regulation. What should be done to prevent sporadic crippling of our economy by frequent attack of crises would be the focal point of discussion during technical sessions of the day. He hoped the delegates will certainly enrich their knowledge on Indian financial system.
    In his Inaugural address, Chief Guest Mr Rajesh Gulati present a blueprint of the working of Indian Government, industrial houses and management institutions to make India fastest growing economy of the world. He was of the opinion that financial system gets robust by the progressive thinking of the policy-makers. Not only this, the growth rate also much depends on the working style of the Government. Fast and feasible policy making brighten the financial system and thereby the benefit reaches to even last man and also enriches the creditworthiness on the global platform.
    In his keynote address, Mr Ravi Prasad talked at length the role of infrastructure and its finance management to speed up the growth of economy.
    Guest of Honor, Dr Rishi Raj Singh presented a bird’s eye view on financial crises happening from time to time.
    The theme of the first technical session was ‘Crisis management in financial services’. In this session, Mr Gursharan Rai Bansal, Sr VP, UTI Asset Management, Mr Ashutosh Chaturvedi, VP Bonanza Capital and Mr Dayanand Koushik, AO, LIC were the eminent speakers. Speakers discussed at length the challenges and opportunities of management of financial services.
    The theme of the second technical session was ‘Financial crisis in Real Estate Sector’. In this session Mr Zafar, Sr VP Upal Group and Mr Amarendra Kumar, PNB Housing Finance were the speakers. They discussed about the working of real estate sector and were of the opinion that there was no crisis in this sector, it is just demand and supply mismatch.
    Third session was panel discussion. The theme of the panel discussion was ‘Indian financial system in global context’. Mr Vikas Gupta, Delivery Head, RBS, Mr Vikas Arora, VP, Yes Bank, Mr Manoj Kumar Sabat, AVP, IL & FS Energy and CA Aman Chugh were the panelists. Panel discussed the nitty-gritty of Indian Financial System vis-à-vis global financial system.
    In the Valedictory Session, Dr Namita Srivastava, Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, Ms Neelam Raghav & Ms Tanu Khare Srivastava, ABES Ghaziabad and Dr H S Shyam, Sharda University were given away the first, second and third cash prizes respectively. In a separate student category, Ms Priya Khare, ITS Ghaziabad, Mr Navdeep Singh, ITS Ghaziabad and Mr Ravi & Ms Manya, ITS-IM Greater Noida got trophies of first, second and third prize respectively. All paper presenters also received certificate of the same effect.
    Prof Anusha Agrawal was the convener and Prof Manju Lamba was the co-convener of the Seminar. Seminar ended with the concluding remark and vote of thanks by Director-Management, Prof( Dr.) B S Hothi.
    Including 60 delegates from 35 countries about 250 people from industry and academia participated in the Seminar.

    8th National Conference on Next Generation Computing Technologies & Applications (NGCTA – 2013) was organized at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad by Department of IT on 05th October, 2013. The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Nayak, Chairman – CSI Division III, Vice Chairman – I.T.S The Education Group, Key Note Speaker Shri. Rajneesh Kumar SIngh, Asst Registrar for Corporate Affairs (Delhi & Haryana States), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India and Guest of Honor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmendra Singh, Professor & Head (Information Superhighway Lab), IIT Roorkee and Director – IT, Dr. Harish Kumar and Prof. Sunil Kr Pandey Professor & Convener of the Conference by lamp lighting before Goddess Saraswati. This may be noted that every year Department of IT of the institute organizes national conference to provide a competent forum for researchers from academia, industry, research and government organization and in the series this was the 08th National Conference.

     

    Addressing as the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Nayak spoke on evolution and convergence of different technologies and as a result emerging out various new fields and applications. In his address, Dr. Nayak addressed the issues related to efficient deployment of communication technologies and talked about 4G Networks. He also spoke on redefining attributes from technological perspective, applications of algorithmic developments. While addressing the gathering, Prof. Nayak spoke on various probable application areas and emphasized upon careful evaluation of appropriate technology & issues related to it so that maximum benefits could be exploited.

    Addressing as the key note speaker, Shri Rajneesh Kumar Singh emphasized on the need and importance of technology inclusion in e-governance. Shri Singh, in his address, said that with the increased applications of information and communication technologies, there are inherited challenges and concerns are also rising out about securing and providing seamless connectivity among the users. He expressed his serious concerns over research initiatives in the country and emphasized on the need of identifying thrust areas those may lead to a direction which could have potential to work and explore about.

    Dr. Dharmendra Singh, addressing as Guest of Honor, spoke on the application aspects of the communication technologies and touched upon various issues related to it. Dr. Singh suggested that only solution in this scenario is to promote innovation and this has to come out of India. Dr. Singh enlighten the audiences with a chronological explanation of technological developments and the future roadmap to be followed. He also spoke on challenges & issues which are related to business organizations and said that off-shored software industry are most disruptive. In his address, Dr. Singh mentioned that existing companies are good at sustaining & innovation but newer are better at disruptive innovations.

    In his welcome address, while welcoming the guests, The Vice Chairman - I.T.S The Education Group, Shri. Arpit Chadha, said that communication technologies have changed the way we interact, communicate and transact. These developments and reach of these technologies are revolutionizing the functioning of almost every organization irrespective of their domain in which they are operating into.

    In this conference, Call for paper was also issued along with the notification of the conference and overwhelming response was received in the form of research papers. Large numbers of papers, in response, were received from various parts of the country.  After careful scrutiny and review by the experts of review committee, papers were selected for the inclusion in the proceedings of the conference. This proceeding was released by the eminent guests during the inaugural session.

    In his concluding address in the inaugural session of the conference, Director – IT, Dr. Harish Kumar expressed his sincere thanks to the Chief Guest, key note speaker and Guest of Honor of this conference. He expressed his confidence that various parallel sessions shall witness high class of deliberations and shall open the new directions of research to the participants. Earlier, Convener of this conference, Prof. Sunil Kr Pandey presented a brief on objectives and structure of the conference.

    After inaugural session, a power panel was organized in which various eminent speakers addressed the gathering on different themes. The speaker sincluded Dr. K.K. Biswas from IIT Delhi, Shri. S.K. Kaw, Managing Director – Paramarsh Infotech, Shri. Balaji Venkteshwara – Vice President (Information Security) and Dr. Brijesh from Lingaya’s University, Faridabad.

    The conference was concluded with the valedictory session in the afternoon. While addressing as the invited speaker in the valedictory session, Dr. Kumar spoke about the issues and challenges present in the field of communication with business perspective. Mr. Sharma spoke on the developments taking place in the area of mobile computing and elaborated various complex issues with demonstrative illustrations and examples. He also spoke on perspective research areas in the field of mobile computing and technology.

    In his concluding address, Prof. Sunil Kr Pandey, Convener of this conference NGCTA-2013, thanked to the guests for their useful and constructive inputs. Dr. Pandey also thanked to all the delegates and participants for their support, participation and contributions in making this conference a success. He also thanked to the members of organizing committee of the conference which included Prof. A.N. Tripathi, Prof. Umang Singh, Prof. Smita Kansal and Prof. Rakesh Roshan who were well supported by the faculty members and students of Dept of IT.

    Conference was attended by over 300 delegates from various parts of the country. Earlier Vice Chairman – I.T.S The education Group, Shri. Arpit Chadha and Director – IT formally welcomed the guest and presented them mementoes on behalf of the institute as token of remembrance. On this occasion large number of students and faculty members were also present in the conference.
